Description
Malibu Honeysuckle is a perfume oil introduced by Nomaterra in 2013. The fragrance exhibits a beautiful medley of tie-dyed purple, blue, and pink flowers (rose, honeysuckle and orchid), topped with sweet mandarin and resting on a base of tonka bean, vanilla and amber. Malibu Honeysuckle‘s sweetness is ephemeral—sometimes nostalgic, sometimes sophisticated, sometimes fresh, but always sparkling like the Paradise Cove water basking under the tantalizing California sun.
Malibu Honeysuckle is available from Nomaterra in a travel-friendly 10 ml roll-on fragrance based in natural jojoba oil. Malibu Honeysuckle was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Agnieszka Burnett.

This is what paradise smells like.
I absolutely love this scent, and have encountered it once before. It’s a dead ringer for Peacock Parfumerie’s “Uplift”, which isn’t in the Fragrantica database. After dusting off Uplift from the fragrance library, there’s a very strong resemblance. They’ve described the composition as:
Top: White Jasmine, Neroli Flower, Pink Honeysuckle
Middle: Sweet Cassis, Glistening Pomegranate, Crushed Tea Leaves
Bottom: Vanilla Orchid, Sheer Musk, Sandalwood
Intriguingly, minimal overlap between Malibu Honeysuckle and Uplift. One thing they’ll have in common for sure though– they will BOTH become fixtures in my permanent collection!

Honeysuckle, vanilla, honey, cream, a bit of powder and something floral. One of the best smells from Nomaterra. Sweet but light and pleasant. Very nice fragrance.

Malibu Honeysuckle is a scent that evokes a sweet, blissful feeling; to me is smells like a warm honeysuckle paradise that is unmatched by any other scent in my fragrance collection.
At first sniff, it is warm and floral. The rose and bergamot blend perfectly with the sweet, creamy smelling honeysuckle. It feels free-spirited and carefree with the fresh, zesty mandarin orange that is makes it bright and uplifting.
As it wears, the Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Amber provide the perfect backdrop for this sensual floral fragrance, making it a little more gourmand and as the day goes on.
This scent is lovely for spring and summer, but wouldn’t feel out of place during the fall. The sillage is great too. When I enter the room, my husband says he can smell me immediately, and this is one of his favorite fragrances of mine.
Side note: I love that Nomaterra uses organic ingredients and and oils in these perfumes. This fragrance is so rich and potent and has become one of my favorite roll-on scents that I like to keep in my purse. While I seldom need to re-apply, they are especially convenient.
