Description

Lovely is the first fragrance by Sarah Jessica Parker (in partnership with Coty Inc.). Obsessed with style and fashion, Sarah always wanted to create a signature scent that would be very sexy and yet undeniably classy. She did not want her fragrance to be overpowering, but instantly recognizable, like infamous aromatic concoction she made for herself from 3 separate fragrances before she co-created Lovely.

Lovely is a soft, powdery, discrete and very intimate fragrance, announced as ‘silky white amber’. It possesses an elegance characteristic of classic fragrances. And yet the fragrance is quite modern and very charming.

It opens with soft citruses (nectarine and bergamot) and woody (rosewood) notes, with a touch of lavender, which is very discrete and not at all sharp. The fragrance develops further with notes of apple martini, white daffodil and orchid. The base unites white amber, cedar, woody notes and white musk.

According to Sarah’s words, the perfume is appropriate for all generations: ‘from 17 to 107’. The fragrance was created by Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry in 2005 with Sarah herself being the creative director, actively participating in the process from its start to finish.

I have been wanting to get this perfume forever but for some reason I would always pick something else. Finally, I bought it and its everything I wanted it to be. I smell patchouli, a very clean one, lavender, musk and a light hint of florals. The patchouli makes this a very classy fragrance, the lavender makes it femenine and cool. Altogether it is lovely, especially in winter. I am using it right now as my night cologne

By far the best SJP perfume. Exquisite, delicious and elegant. Gave me a No. 5 vibe. It’s in the name!

I don’t know anything about the levels of fragrances, etc. I just know what smells good on me and what people around me compliment me on. When I wear this perfume, I feel better – like I’m fresh and ready to conquer the day. It also made me feel romantic at night. I think when a woman feels good about herself, she’s going to be at her best and for some reason fragrances have a lot to do with that.
I’m very happy to see that Lovely is still available, and I hope it will be for a long time to come because I have no idea what I would replace it with.

Pretty fragrance! But not “carefully crafted” in my opinion. Just a bunch of strong flowers put together. On the plus side, it smells different from most other common floral perfumes. It lasts long on clothes and is very nice for the summer! I guess the cost sometimes reflects the craftsmanship, so can’t complain!

Mer-er-er-er-cy! This should be in the perfumers’ guide to demonstrate how one’s chemistry can completely change a perfume. I tried this years ago, and was so traumatized by the stench of dirty, stink-foot gym socks, I will never be able to brave a further testing.
On the flipside, before trashing the bottle, I let my mom test it, since the rule of thumb between we has, 99% of the time, been if it’s a scrubber for me, it will smell fabulous on she. Of course, it was unsurprisingly true in the case of SJP’s Lovely. I swear the woman can pull spices from the most unassuming perfumes, and this was no exception. On her, this was bordering on a spicy-gourmand-floral-musk… and wonderful.
Moral of the story… don’t pitch it, if it’s a stinker, for you. Give it to someone else to test… and hopefully, enjoy it vicariously, while they’re smelling fabulous.

Not so long ago I was anosmic to Lovely. I tried it a few times but all I could smell was static and dust, and something a little sharp. I was anosmic to Narciso Rodriguez perfumes too, so I guessed it was whatever musk they were using, and moved on.
A couple of months ago I retried some of the NR scents and was delighted to find I could finally smell them. Even better, I loved them, and bought a couple. Then, today, I saw some bottles of SJP Lovely for an outstanding price – no testers, but they were so cheap I took a chance and bought a 50ml bottle, figuring I could pass it on to someone else if it was a bust. And guess what? I can now smell this one too. It is indeed lovely, and having tested NR for her quite recently I do think they are very similar, although I don’t have a bottle of For Her to test them side by side. Lovely seems to have less longevity than For Her though.
Nevertheless, Lovely probably cost me 1/5 or 1/6 of what the Narciso would, so I’m quite happy to respray.

Like others, I think my bottle has turned bad. When I first tried it, it smelled more like narciso Rodriguez but after having this for a few weeks, it seems like the top notes have vanished from this and I mostly just smell amber and musk. Narciso is way more expensive but it is also of wayyy better quality. I think someone who smells an unturned bottle of this at first may mistake it for narciso, but after you use both of them a few times, you see the major differences. This doesn’t seem to be made with good quality and it’s not even worth the $20 I paid for it. There are many other better bang for your buck cheapies. My bottle is the new “formulation”, by lovely distribution. If this had a strong rose note and a bit thicker/stronger amber, it would be like NR, but right now my bottle is useless, this perfume turned bad and there are no top notes anymore and it is kind of worthless now unless I try to layer it. There is lots of potential for this to be great if the notes were tweaked a little and it was made of better quality so that it doesn’t turn bad so quickly!

My goodness, lovely is absolutely beautiful in the right temperature & right season..
In spring & warm temps this does nothing for me…
But in cold weather, and mainly nights, this BLOOMS.. It’s so amazing what weather can do to perfume. It sticks to me in the cold. I love it most then❤️
I even have two 100ml bottles for back up.
If you want to smell classy, without spending too much, I advise you get around to this!!

First spray is incredibly strong blast of musk – this is a very powerful scent.
I have been exploring perfumes for only a few months, but for the first time I truly understand what ‘dry down’ means thanks to this bottle. The smell after a few hours changes into the most lovely warm floral I think I have ever smelled.
Sure, the musk wans’t my favourite, but I got to feel like I was wearing two different perfumes over the day.

Why did i wait so long to get this??? This is the perfect translation to citrus, fresh, musky clean, but with a playful twist in the drydown. The lavender is stunning in here, very tamed and gets along with that soft ambery base. gorgeous!

  11. :

The name says it best here – a lovely blend of clean, sheer citrus and musk. The lavender is quite silky here, which is seemingly very difficult to do but I assume that it’s due to the fact that it isn’t very present. Think Narcisso Rodriguez EDT mixed with a modern cologne (traditional, but contemporary) with a bit of Jersey parfum over the top. Very nice.

I almost want to cry! then in a good way… I am so confused. I bought Lovely today as a blind buy for only 18 euros a bottle, after reading all your reviews I was conviced this is the best celebrity perfume. Call me crazy I am not a perfumer but I am definetly a perfume lover. I have owned NR for Her in both EDP and EDT and guess what the reviewers that have compare this to For Her are absolutely right, this is the same as For Her and not at all in a bad way!
At first spray I smelled like tons of alcohol, two minutes on I smelled nothing, I was disappointed I thought what happened? this was supposed to be good… but guess what happened after 5 to 10 minutes: a splash of loveliness appeared, patchouli, bergamot, musk, woody notes, my brain is confused, all I smell is NR For Her EDT but maybe more delicate and less edgy, perhaps a bit sweeter and “smokey”…I don’t know how this happened, these are two different fragrances with many similar ingredients but not the same, the noses behind Lovely are not the same as the ones behind For Her, Miss Parker would never smell less good for sure but is this plagiarism? I would never dare to say that! I think is merely coincidence, a good one for those of us wanting to save at least 40 euros a bottle although the sillage of For Her is definetly stronger.
Save your money if you are craving For Her and can’t buy it, because I dare to say you won’t smell the difference just like me… the choice is up to you which one you want to buy… I am glad I bought Lovely today.

Very Light water-downed version of Narciso Rodriguez for Her if that at all. Not impressed. Gets a hands down from me as I was looking for a possible dupe.

Can someone more fragrance literate tell me why this one makes me gag? Can’t even stomach it on other people – it feels dirty. Is it the patchouli or the musk?

  17. :

    I feel this is likable
but it is so faint to my nose.
Maybe it’s just my skin that is likable!
    Barely registers.
Now I’m wary of all modern musks.
    Noseblindness is real!

A note on SJP fragrances, which in my experience tend to be very well constructed: this one layers fantastically with SJP Stash, in my opinion. I apply Stash on bare skin, then spritz lovely in my hair and on top of any outerwear, scarves, etc. Reminds me of sweet flowers and dried leaves pressed in a leatherbound book. They are good companions.

Ok so my mom gave this to me because she thought the smell was for guys. And you know what? I agree with her? Well maybe unisex. It smells amazing on me. Everytime i wear this for some reason i feel like im a successful business man or something… They should change the bottle coz its too girly. And yes and if youre wondering… It gives me compliments from girls! I swear… Please market it to be unisex…

I asked the person who i thought was the wearer , what it was : Sarah jessica parker , lovely … she said .
Just Stunning ! Girly , great sillage .. pretty , fresh and clean
Iam now buying a 100 ml bottle

I can’t describe this one, exactly (which is probably my lack of knowledge/vocabulary about fragrance showing), but I find this wonderful. After the first few minutes, this mellows out from a generic “perfume” feeling and floats just above my skin like a smooth, rose-gold glow. It doesn’t register as an applied fragrance: just makes me smell as if I eat bars of soap at every meal which radiate through my skin. It’s the platonic ideal of “girl” scent, in my opinion. Love.

My bottle has turned very quickly, like in 2 years after the first use. “Normal” quality perfumes don’t behave like this, I was very surprised. Also I highly believe that Lovely was reformulated long ago. The juice is super light, ultra light, I indeed treated it as a body spray whenever I used.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Unfortunately this was a bust for my skin. Initial spray was a very sour aldehyde that transitioned into a vanillic and musky base. Finally the base was a strong peppery musk. I’m very sure this smells quite beautiful on other people, just not for me. I did actually get complemented by a coworker but to me the scent was a little stomach turning.

Craving for Narciso Rodriguez for Her? Save your money and get SJP’s Lovely EDP instead. Bottle is equally weighty, fragrance has decent lasting power and is of good quality. Lovely has been around for more than a decade and is destined to become a classic–for good reason. It is a workhorse fragrance–one so proper without being bland or squeaky clean. This woody floral musk can be worn anytime from day to night, with any dresscode, in any weather condition. I sprayed it on 6 hours ago and I could still smell it on my blouse now. Comforting, elegant and feminine, Lovely is difficult not to like.

I really love this fragrance. Sarah Jessica Parker produces the best celebrity scents in my opinion. She does not come out with the sugar bombs you usually see.
I own Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT and it is my absolute favorite. One day a co-worker had on a familiar fragrance and I commented that she must be wearing Narciso Rodriguez. She said no, that is was Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely. I was so impressed and knew I had to get a bottle.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT and Lovely are very similar. The musk, of course, is very prominent in each. I’d say Narciso Rodriguez is a little fruitier and Lovely is more aromatic due to the lavender. I like NR for fall and Lovely for spring. Both are beautiful.
Lovely is such a well-done fragrance. Highly recommended!

I tested Lovely a long time ago. Back then, it was very strong, almost like a spicy musky/woody lavender scent. That much about this fragrance that I remember because I wanted to like it, but couldn’t. Fast forward to recent days, I retested it just for the sake of it (as I LOVE Narciso Drogiguez For Her EDT so much, and this one has been rated as its close dupe). How do you know? It smells less spicy, and less of everything that I did not like about it before, down to few notches. NOW, it is actually quite LOVELY and I agree, it is close to that EDT For Her.
I don’t know anything about Lovely being “reformulated” or not, but I’m pretty SURE that the scent from the bottle that I recently tested is definitely “weaker” than the one I tested long time ago.
The silver lining is that NOW I can truly enjoy Lovely more than before, because it is perfect for MY taste about everything inside the bottle. Could it be another “theory” that my taste in perfume/fragrance have also changed/developed? I wear more “strong and intense” fragrances now. So maybe I got “immune” to strong scents these days and don’t think that Lovely is strong as it used to be anymore??? I don’t know.
The bottom line is that it is a FRESH and lovely fragrance and I like it very much! To my SURPRISE, I actually enjoy lavender here a lot, while I’m not fond of that note in Mon Geurlain. I can smell lavender, bergamot, orange and orchid in Lovely, and not so much of musk, wood, patchouli, nor pepper, not even salt. I drink martini but don’t know what to expect in Lovely when that note is combined with other “ingredients” in here 🙂

A shop was handing out samples of Lovely and I thought, “Why not?” To my nose this smells like a typical inexpensive floral musk. No particular flower just “floral.” Really goes laundry detergent “summer fresh” on me. I don’t hate it but I will be passing this sample on to a 14 year old who I think will love it…

Spring of 2007. Sunny and warm days. Newly-wed and happy checking out my husbands new (used) car in the driveway somewhere in the rural Midwest smelling lovely. Suddenly happiness and loveliness turn to surprising, sudden and unforeseen pain. I let out a loud scream touching my hurt neck with both my hands only to see the scariest, biggest red wasp flying away in front of my eyes…

This was my go-to fragrance. Because of my experience- six bottles that seemed to have lost nearly all scent-I’ve spent some time researching online reviews for the current product, which is distributed by Lovely Distribution Inc.
Many persons posting on e-commerce sites have similar opinions to mine: a very disappointing fragrance now. You can even see the difference between the juice in Lancaster Distribution and the Lovely Distribution bottles; the LD is nearly colourless; Lancaster is pink. However, the Lancaster version is not nearly as good as my first bottle, which was a Coty Prestige product.

I really like this fragrance. The name fits it. I bought a rollerball bottle for my purse but half way through it a the liquid is cloudy. It still smells good but it’s very off putting. I’m wondering if this happens with roller balls or is it the product. Has this happened to anyone else?

  33. :

Musk and orchid are two of my favorite notes so I was delighted to get Lovely!
Lovely indeed, with a light hand. The lavender in this can be harsh and sharp initially though that mellows out quickly. I don’t like white pepper or much cedar in my perfumes so I’m glad they’re not too prominent here.
I like to pair it with a neutral musky, powdery scent to soften it up.

Bought my first bottle in 2014 and loved it- a pretty, sophisticated floral, cheap enough to use freely after the gym. So, I stockpiled bottles, buying 4 large bottles from a popular online fragrance vendor, and at my local chain drugstore, 2 more, between 2015 through autumn of 2017.
My original bottle was just about gone this month (June 2018), so I opened one. I store them iin dark, cool place, in original wrapped package. It had absolutely NO SCENT except faint soap, like laundry powder on the inside of a box. Over two days, I opened all the rest, and had my husband (a serious “nose”) smell and describe. Not one bottle had any discernible notes.
I have no receipts, and it is not worth shipping the bottles back to the “warehouse” vendor.
I cannot say why the juice eroded so horribly. I did read that Coty Inc., the original licensee, sold the license to LovelyDistribution INc. in 2014. They may have reformulated. Some posters here have noted a difference (“sour”, “inconsistent”) but not what I found, practically scentless.
Open it right away and test, so that you can return it. Who knows what happened but all my other frags keep their when stored unopened.

Lovely is not in my top 5, but it is a wardrobe must for me. I would wear it if everyone woman in the world wore it, and heck maybe we should. It’s freaking gorgeous and simple. The dry down on me is this lotiony, gorgeous musk with lavender and subtle spice. It smells 10x more expensive than what you pay for it. If you are delighted by dainty, elegant scents that make you think of ballerina slippers and pearls, you need to give this a go.

I am not a lover of florals or clean notes but this has both of those and still I really like it. One of the only floral scents that I repurchased several times.
Having said that-last bottle I owned was several years ago and I remembered it smelling clean yet strong and distinctive-it was always a very unique scent to my nose-lavender, musk, combined in such a way that I have not smelled before. I used it up and never repurchased until yesterday when I found it at TJ Maxx for very cheap. And this bottle smells very light, very astringent, barely there. I am wondering if I just got a bottle thats been sitting around too long or whether this scent was also reformulated. It seemed like a shadow of what this scent was before. I guess I will be looking for another bottle of this to see if perhaps I got the bad bottle to begin with
PS For those interested in fragrances that smell similar-NR which to me is more musky actually and “cool”, Tocca Cleopatra which is has additional fruity notes, and Zara Bright Rose which smells more green than Lovely.

Now, this is a perfume I want to describe in detail as for now this is my signature scent and one of the best things I have ever smelled in my life.
I wanted this perfume for so long, but having a full bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT (black bottle) made me question whether I needed this or not – since so many people describe them as almost identical.
Now, I got a 50ml bottle of this at Shoppers on a final sale for 20 CAD$ – unbeatable price. My 100 ml bottle of Narciso was something like 130 CAD$ although I bought it on a day with a lot of promotions in Milan (my hometown) so I got a bunch of free gifts with it.
Nonetheless, I am convinced that it is absolutely worth having both.
Some people describe Lovely as the cheaper version of NR. It’s not.
Lovely is a sophisticated fragrance, one that makes me feel elegant, fresh (not in an aquatic or citrus way, nor in a soapy way), beautiful, lovely.
This is absolutely appropriate for everything. I find it absolutely amazing.
There are differences with Narciso, such as the spicy notes, the lavender, and something very aromatic.
Narciso is more musky, I get some floral notes, and it smells overall sweeter to me. I love love love Narciso, but at the same time I will always love and defend Lovely because I strongly disagree that this is a cheap Narciso version.
I am in love with this fragrance and the price is unbeatable. (don’t buy it from the official site – it’s a rip off considering you can buy this on resale or in drugmarts for less than 20 USD).

Hm. Reg. NR dupe issue: well, I’ve only tested the NR edp (pink) and Narciso (white bottle) in a store once, and then smelled them for months (!) on the paper strips I kept in a coat pocket. I like them a lot, though the longevity is a bit scary. (I work with people who can sometimes be sensitive to perfumes.)
This is very similar to both, not blind-test similar, but similar enough that I don’t think many people could love those and dislike this. This has the creamy smooth cool musk – very similar to NR’s to my nose – some light patchouli to add interest and some fresh florals. I’m content to own this as my one musk-dominant perfume instead of NR.
At first spray I thought “NR, yay” and also “oh no, candy”, in a few minutes “ooh, patchouli?”. Later a very realistic flower (blooming spring tree flowers) scent suddenly popped out for a while, but I haven’t gotten that since, so… chemistry’s weird I guess. I kept getting that oddly familiar note I couldn’t place but associated with some type of candy. Now I think it was actually the lavender, and I was actually associating it with potpourri bags mom put in my sock drawer as a kid. I guess that is to say – it’s def a bit aromatic, def lavender, but on the sweet side of aromatic.
Oh and I definitely agree with the reviewer who thought of Covet, the interesting SJP weirdo – definitely the aromatic accord is similar. And in Covet it’s paired with a dark chocolate note, which might be why I get a slightly gourmet feel from Lovely somehow. Or they both do have something a little bit candy sweet.
I guess my only problem with it is that like Covet, it sounds a bit more interesting than it really is to me. (I like real sharp green smells, fresh crushed leaves and herbs, I like to be able to pick out specific notes clearly.) But this is really super pleasant without being bland.
Oh and please realize it DOES last, at least on clothes and hair, but your nose does give out fairly quickly. And realize you may be anosmic to some or several musk chemicals in it.
I can spray it on my arms and sniff them after a half hour and barely feel it, but if I put on the dress I wore yesterday while I wore it, it’s still thick with it. Be mindful 🙂

It took a few days for me to realize what the bottle reminded me of. Every time I held it in my hand it was driving me crazy! What was it? It just now suddenly occurred to me. It’s just like a water balloon!!! Makes total sense, too, with it’s strong aquatic note and it’s for warmer weather. It’s fun to hold, smells too good to throw.

This is very popular and I finally had a chance to try a tester. At first sniff all I got was lavender. Well I am not a fan of lavender, especially not in perfumes. If you’re a lavender lover, this one is for you.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I have owned 3 bottles of this fragrance and swapped or gave them away for two reasons:
    1. poor longevity on me and 2. sharpness of the scent that would just not work with my skin chemistry.
Ive also noticed that one bottle lasted longer than another or one was smelling better than the other (the lavender note perhaps was not as prominent).
A few days ago i came across a great deal and the SA convinced me to purchase it and i was in the mood of treating myself lol…even though i said to myself that i didn’t a fragrance that hasn’t worked for me previously.
So this perfume is just amazing – bright, better smelling and works so well on my skin with none of the harshness. It also lasts longer and i actually get wafts after a couple of hours which wasnt like this before. I couldnt understand why. Then i noticed that this bottle is made in the UK by the Lovely distribution group. I previously had ones by the Lancaster group, made in US/France. The ingredients also vary from the one made in UK versus US/France – i can only speak for the boxes that i’ve seen.
Im glad that Lovely finally worked for me!

It’s such a lovely scent, it’s such a bummer that it’s so weak.
I sprayed it on and literally less than two minutes later my daughter came in and hugged me. I asked her what she thought of the sample and she said she couldn’t smell it at all.
Only when she smelled my wrist could she notice it. And it only lasted about an hour.
It’s always so disappointing when I find fragrances I really enjoy, only to discover that they disappear so quickly.

My signature scent for many years, compliments magnet from men & women, it’s lovely, soft, feminine, sophisticated, romantic, classic scent.
on my skin the sillage is amazing, longevity is great, with its’ price tag I don’t mind spray it all over my body.
    Blind buy safe. any age.

Easy to wear, pleasant, unobtrusive, could be many a person’s signature scent. Refreshing during the day, comforting in the evening, linear but never dull, very well-balanced. Office appropriate.
And yet, when given the choice between Lovely and a more lively fragrance during the day or a deeper fragrance in the evening, I find myself not choosing for Lovely. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, in fact it’s very pleasant. But it’s also somehow lacking in personality. This is quickly becoming my bedtime fragrance because it is so calming and unobtrusive.

This smells exactly like the name…. lovely!
It is very similar to NR but there is a note that makes it a little more fresh.
When I first wore this I didn’t get any Sillage. After 1 hour I didn’t smell it.
My second time wearing it was much better. It lasted around 5 hours and omg….. I was in heaven.
I kept getting whiffs here and there and I kept falling in love.
I felt like Tinker Bell with her pixie dust ~~~

Yes…Yes..Yes. Agreed…this IS an aromatic scent for sure. And, yeah, ok, it is similar vibe to Narciso edp/edt…but…”calmer”…if that make sense. This one is a great everyday scent…not offensive at all…and pretty likeable. Like with sooooooo many other scents out there today the persisting “lack of longevity/sillage” is here in this one. But…I have gotten used to this dilemma…lol. I really like this SJP scent so far. Easy, dreamy and quite smooth/clean.
    Cheers !!!

Musk, lavender, wood and stuff, it seems a little masculine, making women feel lovely, perhaps? The smell of a clean man, makes women feel lovely, musk and lavender are that. Musk the smell of men, lavender a calming, clean scent, this makes women feel lovely and I agree I suppose. Patchouli and wood must make it even more strong. Why is this not considered unisex, really!?

I sprayed it on and all I got was pepper 🙁 sadly lovely doesn’t work for me anymore I’m so upset right now. It’s a great scent but that spice kills it for me. I’m sorry Sarah Jessica Parker 🙁 I will use your nyc fragrance still

Very much like this one.SJP you again kill it .On my skin it is extremely aromatic, it should be called “aromatic musk”. The lavender never goes away on my skin, but this is a good thing! There are not too much aromatics for women out there, so this is a nice addition.

*Not so much of a review, more so my observation and compering to Narciso Rodriguez for Her EDP. To maybe help someone who is deciding between these two.*
Becouse yes, they’re similar. However, I feel one “part” of the fregrance smells similar. And that to my nose is the musk- patchouli combination. In both musk is very smooth, creamy almost body lotion/ face cream like and patchouli giving a bit of quirkiness and interest to both fregrances.
To me, Narciso Rodriguez for Her EDP feels younger (in spirit, not necessarily by age) I believe the peach does that, more intimate and playful. It’s also that type of scent that you can’t really smell than all of the sudden you get a hint of it than dissappears again and it makes people lean towards you to smell it again.
Now Lovely, comes across as more of an everyday scent, not complicated, easy likeable by most. It’s presence is moderate, but always there. The lavender note is very prominent. It’s super nice in the spring and also summer, becouse it is also fresh and musk never gets too heavy. While NR for Her EDP in my opinion should be applied with light hand…for your own good.
To me Lovely is like comforting hug from your mother, while NR is a hug from your loved one.

Wish I could smell this the way everyone else does. The drydown is not pleasant, smells to me like a teenager on a stinking hot day trying to cover up their bo after a gym class with a musky deodorant.

I tried to like this but I don’t enjoy wearing it all. Too musky and spicy for my tastes. As they say, each to their own….

    SJP lovely
    Summer test
First impression, not for me, there was some acidy but sift nite I didn’t like, this lasted only a few minutes, then the fragrance became airy, fresh, liquid floral.
There is a gentle metallicness to this so it’s on the cool side.
I was wary of detecting a cheap base that a lot of celeb scents use, I don’t think I got it much thankfully.
There is a soft spiced white floralness musk, though it simmers rather than dances all around.
I think from price point give it a go. My review is a bit tainted from Donna by Valentino, but I think I get the gist of it

On me it opens like Basic Instinct by Victoria’s Secret. Only if that one is floral fruity, this one is musky. Sexy fragrance.

This smells like a more fresh version of DK’s Cashmere. It’s not bad, but it’s not nearly as good as people make it out to be. Longevity and silage are both poor in my opinion, but I like strong fragrances.

@AaronStar: It’s really a musk bomb & quite medicinal but it doesn’t overpowering. Just like @pims2 said, douse yourself with it but still softly performs & very long lasting (at least on me)
@pims2: I have 2 version of them. The first version from Coty production & the recent production from SJP Lovely itself. I really wanted to try the second version production but can’t find it anywhere. I love the Coty version, gone through 4 bottles of it & still have half of my fifth bottle. Didn’t want to finish it bcs it’s discontinued already. It have dramatically performances from start to finish on my skin. Sometimes it smells rossy a lil bit eventho it’s lavender. The Lovely version still have the same smell but felt like missing that dramatically performances. It’s quickly dries down but they still very long lasting. I’m on my second bottle of it. Both are in 150ml.

Ah, Lovely. My favorite fragrance. My signature fragrance. Whenever I smell it, I’m instantly relaxed and feel that I can take on the world. On my skin, it’s a perfect blend of musk, lavender, and salt. At the dry down, that’s all I smell: salt. It’s unlike anything I have smelled before. I’ve gone through like six bottles of it. I love that you can douse yourself (heavily) and it’ll still soften and you won’t attack anyone’s sinuses.
For any that have been curious, there have been three versions of Lovely through the years. The first, of course, was with Coty. Subsequently, Lancaster took over the distribution. And now, SJP distributes it herself via her own company: The Lovely Distribution Company. I have all three versions, and I swear that I can detect differences between them all. My favorite iteration is the Lancaster one – I get the most longevity and sea salt from that version. The Coty version smells the softest, and the newest version is the most more screechy but still wearable.
Lastly, I want to urge you to try the shower gel from Lovely. It smells incredible, almost as if they added aquatic notes to Lovely. It’s on eBay for less than $10.
Pro tip: wear Lovely (very) liberally on a cool, cloudy, windy day. You’ll love it.
