This was love of first sniff back in 2014. I think it has been conceived like a CH212 dupe. And a good one. No wonder they discontinued it. Fantastic drydown. Was lucky enough to get a full bottle from a classified ads site after a 2-year search for it.

It smells good if you just smell the sprayer, but after spraying it on it is too bright, white, and sharp. To me it’s just too annoying and cloying to wear. Sort of reminds me of revlon charlie white.

Little White Dress is also Chic in White so I was not able to find this in Fragrantica so easily. Very musky and earthy. Not floral, not sweet and not strong. I prefer Chic in Black with its gentle floral and sweetness.
    One spray on me,
    Sillage: skin scent
Longevity: no more than two hours
    Rating: 1/5

Why, oh why did they have to go and discontinue this. It is such a beauty. While I do not reach for it in the Winter, it is Effortless elengance for Summertime- fresh, clean but soft at the same time- a likeable and easy to wear scent.
I do hope they bring it back for next Summer.

It’s okay, quite likeable, but I don’t understand the fuss about it.

I just tried a sample of Little White Dress and I must say that it’s on my whish list. I can only describe it as a very elegant, gentle and sophisticated fragrance.
Although at first I sense a strong alcohol sent, shortly after that a mix of peony and gardenia takes its place. There is a very gentle fresh touch to it thanks to the bergamot and mandarin notes.Unlike LGD where the fresh notes are quite prominent until the end, here they are just a playful hint. After around 15 min the white musk is starting to dominate.

I’ve had a sample of Little White Dress for what seems like forever. I had been hesitant to write a review as my sample said ‘Chic In White’ on the label, however I have now come to the realisation that Little White Dress and Chic In White are one and the same.
This fragrance is very clean and comforting. If you’re a fan of Pure DKNY, Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline or Gucci Flora you’d probably enjoy Little White Dress as well. The composition is nothing particularly outstanding but it is pleasant nonetheless.
The most dominant notes on my skin include white musk, freesia, bergamot, mandarin orange, peony and woods. This smooth blend of notes creates an overall sense of cleanliness. Freesia almost always lends a soapy scent to scents such as this one, so Little White Dress tends to smell like skin just after having stepped out of the shower.
While not all Avon scents are fantastic, fragrances such as this one go to show that cheap does not always mean synthetic. I’m actually shocked that Little White Dress was discontinued so prematurely as I would have assumed it was a best seller.

I got this as a present:) Such an uplifting scent! Its definitely a must try if you like white flowers. I hope AVON brings it back in the future. I don’t want to run out of this bottle 🙂

I am so dissapointed that this has been discontinued 🙁 I was actually ready to make this my signature. I could never stay faithfull to just one perfume, But little white dress was somthing i always went back to. I guess that’s what happens when you stray from a failthfull perfume 😉 lol

I bought the perfume thinking there was NO WAY I would like it as much as the “little black dress” or “little red dress”, both of which I absolutely LOVE. I’ve been so surprised in that I adore it. You have to reapply it quite a few times but apart from that one flaw the scent on me is fabulous- Yes its simple casual daytime and has an innocence about it, yet there is also something quite unusual I feel and yet simple about the lovely scent that does indeed remind me of wearing a white dress. When I think of fragrances to do with wearing the color white- well say- if I compare this to Estee Lauder’s” White Linen’ – well I much prefer this to Estee Lauders “White Linen”! This is much easier to wear… It is much less sharp and more mellow and yet there is something unusual about it, something distinctive that makes me feel really special when I wear it. I think maybe I can smell the dandelion strongly in it and I like the unusualness of that flower, a slight bitterness that is barely discernible and gives it a happy yet still sultry Summer feel. It makes me feel happy wearing it.

I have just bought it ..the white musk is pretty noticable but the yellow florals are also there, I don’t get any citrus notes ..I prefer this to Little Black Dress which didn’t agree at all with my skin ..but I have to say it has a much better sillage & longevity when compared to other Avon scents ..D
Works very well in hot summer days , as its coolness balances the heat & it projects beautifully without being boring like usual Summer scents 🙂

Avon, the Queen of discontinue, along with Always little white dress is no longer available in the UK,don’t half get my gander up!!,in my opinion both lovely swells with decent staying power.

This is a great clean smelling fragrance. I can still smell it this morning after spraying it on before bedtime, that’s nine hours. And it’s back in the Avon outlet catalog ( As Chic in White), so stock up if you love it!

What a great blind buy. I needed something simple and fresh and the description combined with the huge sale, led me to Little White Dress.
I know everyone says it is a floral, and yes it certainly is, but on me it gets woody and balmy over time and smells way more expensive than it is!
    Lots of compliments too!
It is a great fresh scent. Distinct though, like Nexxus shampoo, florals and woods.

  17. :

In my opinion it is just as simply nice one, noting special. I use it often as the smell is easy to wear in every occasion esp in the hot country like mine.
After using it until almost running out, I realized that i got a lot of compliment. I still feel the same, it is simple and nothing special but I can’t denied that it is a nice one. It is clean, fresh and girly. I think I will purchase it again with the lotion and perfume-on. When I don’t know which one to wear I find it is useful and makes my mode good once I spray.

I’ve neglected this perfume for a long time but I’m starting to wear it again now. Can’t work out why I haven’t been wearing it regularly since I bought it because it’s so pretty and subtle. Smells of gardenia and white musk with a hint of citrus. Very soft and gentle – could work well with a summer dress or cosy, warm winter clothes. More of a casual scent for days out or lazing at home and great as a go-to fragrance when you want something clean-smelling and feminine but without any strong statement notes. Love the bottle of both this and Little Black Dress. Reminds me of Chanel.

such a great perfume for such a reasonable price. i love it! very white floral and very elegant. i would wear it on special occasions.

This is quite a nice perfume. I wore this outside, and with fresh air, this is quite pretty. I’m glad I got this. It’s an everyday run of the mill pretty scent and there’s nothing wrong with this. It’s like saying a yellow cake smells average run of the mill cakey while it’s baking. Is there ANYthing wrong with this? It’s yum at any rate! Year after year, day after day, it’s the same ol’ same ol’…..YUM! I don’t think you can go wrong with this. I find it a rather strong and long lasting, fresh and airy scent. This is a good blind buy for anyone that isn’t crazy about perfumes and doesn’t even know what type of scents they like. The bottle is quite nice, I like the shape. I pick this up and admire it right along with some of my “superstars”. S’ok in my book now days!

When I got a sample I didn`t exactely fell in love with it. However one day I felt a very nice perfume on a colleague of mine as asked what was the perfume and was surprised it was Avon Little White dress. It smelled much different than I remembered it – more sophisticated and classy. Now, I`m giving this perfume a second chanse:).

I still wonder why it is called oriental here as for me Little White Dress is floral fragrance, to be more precise typical white floral. At the beginning I can spot some citrus notes but is not fruity or citrusy, or tart at all, it adds just a little freshness and there is definitely some musk and wood, maybe even light touch of sandal in the middle and base notes. Little White Dress is more like close to skin scent with silky creamy and light drydown, its character is inoffensive and calm.
On whole it is nothing over exciting and original but it is rather good perfume for the price. It is also safe choice for warm weather office work. Don’t expect long lasting power or strong sillage (it is Avon after all; although more expensive fragrances from Avon lately bring nice surprises). However, I guess that for many white florals loving ladies this may seem too usual and inconsiderable scent.

I’m wearing this right now after having it for a year or so and remembering after smelling it my counsin.
I can only detect mandarin and peony and as I remember some musky notes in the end. It’s very alive, sparkly, clean scent, suitable for many ocasions, but aspecially for a day at the office. It’s lasting power is great and deserves a chance on your perfume shelf.

I was wearing this perfume today and realised that it smelt kinda similar to lacoste touch of pink, minus some fruityness. Anyone else getting that?

fresh and “sparkling” has similar “sparkly” scent to happy, except not the same smell. I usually use this in spring, very gentle and soft. a lovely scent. I’m not sure which i like best LWD or LBD, id say LWD is easier to wear though.

  27. :

  28. :

I like the opening note…so fresh and cute but when it goes to middle note I smell like someone burning rubber with sugar which I really hate it.
Well when the middle note passed, the creamy and sweetly warm scent come. It makes perfume much better..
It is just OK perfume for me..But I prefer LBD..LBD is much better than LWD

  29. :

    3 out of 5

Little White Dress is an absolute opposit of her older sister- Little Black Dress.
Cold, delicate, solid and elegant. While LBD is a temperament and passionate, LWD is modestly elegant scent.
Freesia, sandal, vanilla and musk dominates on me, the drydown is a light powdered, slightly sweet sandal undertone. Very discreet scent, perfect for daytime.

I just got this so it’s early enough to change my mind perhaps when the weather cools but I have found nothing special in this perfume. It seems to be rather strong so it might be nothing more than a winter perfume for me. I didn’t notice anything that stood out or is worthy of mention. This isn’t a bad fragrance but it draws very near a useless one for me. My bottle says Chic In White. From reviews I assume this is the same as Little White Dress. If there is a difference, I would still try the other.

  35. :

not very special or unique. I can only sniff orange mixed with white flowers, simple and fresh, but boring.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

Today I’m wearing Little White Dress. Funny, but on my skin it doesn’t exactly smell ‘nice’ but rather edgy and interesting, like a light, soft but special fragrance that isn’t too fruity nor floral but definetely has a certain – indeed soft – character. While Little Black Dress is on one hand more beautiful, sweeter with much more vanilla and oriental notes, Little White Dress is perfect for those who want a distinctive, nonoffensive but unique office-fragrance. I think it’s for those women who know what they want, not for the very light hearted.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

It’s a nice, wearable, everyday parfume, not very special or unique. I can only sniff orange mixed with white flowers, simple and fresh, but boring. I think LBD it’s much better.

  38. :

First I liked it because of its soft floral scent, but…there’s something in it that I can’t stand. And that something makes the whole perfume not really good.

I have Chic in White which I’m told is the same as Little White Dress here in Canada.
As you would suspect, Chic in White is a white floral and is the younger sister of CK’s Eternity. on me at least. It is not the sillage monster of the 80’s white florals and has less longevity on the skin but the ingredients are worthy and blend together nicely if somewhat generically. No, it hasn’t the unique qualities of Alfred Sung or Eternity, two of my favorite white florals if I have to go there (I’m not a white floral fan) but 80’s florals can be monsters and Chic in White is dainty in comparison.
The container is classic and looks like a much more expensive perfume. I like it.

little white dress is a real WHITE sensation.
very simple and appealing for daywear:
soft, powdery and feminine, cheeky, innocent, slightly sweet, quite linear but nice and staying power is great for such a light avon scent!
classified as an oriental-floral on avon sites.
    Top: mandarine, freesia
    Heart: peony, gardenia
Bottom: vanila, light woods, white musc

It’s a sweet powdery scent, very feminine and nice.. For fragile women, dreamy and romantic… I like it, but it’s not quite “me”. Good lasting power for a soft perfume.ii

When I first tested Little White Dress all I could think of after smelling it was that it reminds me of some perfume but I couldn’t tell which one. But I figured it out after a while and for me it reminds Hidden Fantasy by Britney Spears. They’re not the same but there are similarities. The first similarity is citrus note in the top. And the oriental feeling of Little White Dress can be compared to the spices in Hidden Fantasy. But Avon’s scent is a bit lighter and not so heavy winter-time perfume and suitable for any kind of season.
Little White Dress is a very lovely scent, almost magical. It smells much more expensive than it actually is. It’s not a typical Avon-fragrance. It’s delicate and strong at the same time. I really like it. And the name suits perfectly because I can imagine myself in a pretty white dress on a fancy cocktail party wearing this scent. Bravo, Avon!

This is a nice perfume… Ideal for day wear. It is soft, easy-going and subtle perfume. I feel good when I spray it on. It has good staying power as compared to other Avon fragrances. But it should be as it is EDP and most of the Avon perfumes are EDT. One can give LWD a try and it wouldn’t go wrong.

i have tried the little white dress body sparay and after trying that have now ordered a bottle on my avon order form as far as i can tell from the body spray and sample this is clean and crisp the first thing it makes you think of is a beautiful summery day strolling along the beach ,
it also gives the comforting scent of crisp fresh linen its an absolutley beautiful delicate smell reminds me of estee lauder scents i think this would br great for a wedding day perfume , its subtle its such a beautiful happy scent not at all overpowering has staying power still smelling fresh and clean and crisp after many hours this is a great everyday scent too i think , where as the little black dress is stronger and better to wear on a special occasion if you were dressing up a very good avon perfume this is one i,ll be buying lots of a real must buy !

  45. :

For some unknown reasons I’m addicted to it. True, that it has no staying power at all, but for these short moments when it stays, I am in heaven. The beginning is quite strong and I usually don’t wear it every day. Better than Little Black Dress and my Avon favorite for spring/summer (while winter favorite is True Glow).

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I just purchased it yesterday, it’s a very subtle and soft fragrance, quite linear, I smell nothing but amber notes; also
it has no sillage at all. I don’t consider it a real fragrance but rather a good body scent.

  47. :

    4 out of 5

This is really rather priddy! I can smell coconut in here quite alot when it’s wet. I’ts a white, flowery, coconutty smell. There’s an element of linen in here too.
I think it smlels quite beachy and brings to mind the image of wearing a white dress with white sandals walking along the sand in the sun.
It’s not terribly complex to my nose but is beatifully blended and is really pleasant smelling.
It wears off quite quickly though which is a bit dissapointing and the coconutty vibe fades leaving behind a fresh linen/laundry kinda smell.
    🙂

This is known as Chic in White in the area where I live. It’s a real soft fragrance but not enough to satisfy a true fragrance addict like most of us on this website. It is reasonably priced with a nice bottle. It might be a nice gift for a grandmother that uses Cashmere Bouquet talcum from the drugstore and doesn’t care for strong perfume. Also this could be a nice one to lend to your young daughter that wants to be grown up. It wears off quickly so she wouldn’t go off to school doused in something that smells like a French whorehouse. I don’t think Avon would use that in their advertising though !
I sampled both In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon and Chic in White one day and found that the In Bloom as too peachy while the White was too delicate. However when the two combined on my skin it was perfect, a wonderful scent. Avon are you listening ? Put In Bloom with Chic in White and call it Bloom in White.

Got a bottle of this recently; if LWD had a voice, it would be wimpering, crying out for a bit more oomph. It is ‘nice’ for a the first 10 minutes and then vanishes!!! Got it on special offer (50% off) and it is not expensive to begin with, so would have been more peeved if I had paid more for it. But was hoping for more and got less, for less, if you know what I mean!!!!? Won’t buy it again.

Finally got my hands on this one!!!I have reviewed Black Dress earlier and was really curious to smell this one!!
This surprised me in a very pleasant way! This scent is def a summer scent for me. Its opening is very nice citrusy and it developes into a creamy soft and clean soapy fragrance that lasts very long! Just like LBD this smells exclusive on my skin, this could easily be taken as an expensive scent if wore by the wright person!
I like it very much, worth a try!!!

I blind ordered a bottle of Little White Dress and got it at the weekend. I was very disappointed though because it’s really nothing special and isn’t anywhere near as nice as Little Black Dress. LWD smells very synthetic and cheap to me and I instantly disliked it. It didn’t get any better the longer it was on my skin so I’ll be returning my bottle. Little Black Dress though is far nicer and is much warmer, sexier and classy smelling.

  52. :

    3 out of 5

The begining is nice and warm, it reminds me another Avon’s fragrence – Percive which I dislike, but Little White Dress is OK. Unfortunately after an hour it smells like a soap;(
Little Black Dress is much better!

Here in America this is called Chic in White (same bottle, notes that maid_marilyn so kindly added sound exactly like what I smell in my Chic in White). By the way, maid_marilyn, thank you for the added notes for this perfume. It’s far more complete than I have ever been able to dig up even as a rep.
I have been enjoying wearing this most recently now that it’s warmer out. I love the combo of the fruitiness, florals, woods & spices in here. It’s a well done light-floriental, if that makes any sense.
I think I prefer this to LBD (Chic in Black), although I will have to try that one again.

  54. :

This is better for me than LBD. I think this is softer and lighter. This is nice!

Notes gleaned from the Czech and Polish avon websites, with the help of the google translator:
    Top notes: bergamot, mandarin, freesia
    Middle notes: gardenia, peony, dandelions
Base notes: white musk and blonde woods
Ok, I love this perfume. It’s a very light and pretty floral oriental which elicited a spontaneous compliment from my husband, so for me that means it’s a keeper. It’s true that Little White Dress is not very long-lasting, which I know everyone always says about avon perfumes, but that hasn’t been my general impression. On me this one is gone in a couple of hours, but in fairness, J’Adore disappears in about the same amount of time at 5 times the price.
When they come out with a matching lotion, I will definitely buy it. That should help the lasting power.

My mum just bought this perfume and I must say that I liked this one more than lbd.
this is a day to wae perfume more light and at the same time energic but….as all Avon perfumes it does not last long and it is not soemthing to remember after years and years…

  57. :

Very different for me compared to LBD. Flowers, some bitterness, fresh end elegant. I like it quite a lot for an Avon fragrance.

  58. :

I have just bought this scent and can’t tell the difference between LWD and LBD!!! Perhaps this one’s ever-so slightly more citrusy… perhaps…?
I was expecting something different, a fruity twist on the original maybe. It’s nothing amazing. Bearable.

  59. :

    4 out of 5

I love this scent, but with many fromAvon it doesn’t lst long. I liked Little Black Dress too, but I think LBD is more for the night while LWD is more for day wear. I use it for work, but I keep the bottle in my handbag to re-apply at lunch time.
