I dont like patchouly that much but I like how it is presented in this perfume, the depth of the masculine tonka bean and the soft floral sweetness of the rose dress it up nicely

A very earthy, cozy, lightly sweet almost leathery patchouli for me. I have the dab on version and I’m mostly getting a patch – rest not so much but a gorgeous blend. Moderate lastation unfortunately. But beautiful scent.

What a lovely patchouli! The combination with bitter orange and petitgrain works so, so well. Tonka flatters it as well, and the patch-rose combo is so established in the fragrance world that it’s impossible to fail at it. I’m not getting any caraway, but there is a large dose of musk in this. The cedar is also apparent. I seem to like most of Fragonard’s offerings and this is no exception.

I smelled this in my mother’s collection, and was surprised by the quality. Imagine Guerlain l’instant pour homme, with the cocoa replaced with tonka, and a slightly greener feel (e.g. the star anise is lacking). It is lighter overall, and quite fresh and unisex. Moderate/low projection lasted around 2 hours, then only a skin scent, so disappointing in that respect. Worth trying if you can reapply though, or only wear scents that remain close to you.

I wear this first then spray Flowerbomb on top for an evening out,it gives such a good patchouli vibe and tames down the sweetness,I also layer this with LVEB too ,when I want to tame the sweetness and balance it out more,it is heaven!

Patchouli and Rose
These two notes are perfectly embraced and to my nose the heart of the scent.
A pinch of DARK – GOTH but with a dash of fresh light.
It goes to sleep with warmth – tonka bean
Totally wearable but not a sports scent.
Perfect for evening – smart office
Not your average “mall” style scent.
A bit daring and perfectly formed

Please add PATCHOULI in heart note and CEDAR in base note.
Men do not hesitate it s Zino of Davidoff.

There is a brief freshness from citrus and ginger during the opening, but for the first 3 hours, Fragonard Patchouli is mostly a patchouli soliflore. The patchouli here is herbal and spicy, medicinal but not overly so, a bit of boozy cacao but not very deep or balsamic. Compared to most patchouli soliflores, one can even say this Fragonard interpretation is rather ‘fresh’ and ‘transparent’.
Interestingly, in the sillage I get mostly patchouli, but when I sniff close to my skin, a sugary mandarine is more prominent, and it grows stronger with time. After about 3 hours, Fragonard Patchouli becomes a powdery mandarine and tonka fragrance, adorned by the spiciness and woodsiness of patchouli, while rose and musk bring in a sensual touch.
The fragrance eventually turns back into a powdery cacao and spicy patchouli skin scent about 6 hours after the initial application. The sillage is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 9 hours in total.
Since I was expecting a patchouli soliflore, the mandarine phase in the middle was a bit of a surprise. Luckily, the combination of mandarine and patchouli didn’t turn into a sticky mess, and remains rather restrained throughout. Considering that there’re so many fragrances showcasing the wonder of patchouli, I doubt Fragonard Patchouli would satisfy the cravings of hardcore patchouli fans. But if you happen to be looking for a relatively light and easy patchouli fragrance, Fragonard Patchouli might be an affordable option.

Nuvola iniziale di patchouli, muschio e noce moscata.
La nube si dirada e si diffonde il caratteristico aroma di noce moscata, speziato e soave.
Unica nota, monocromatica e continua.
A lento rilascio, si possono godere i benefici effetti di questa spezia, antidepressiva e rigenerante, tonica e peculiare.
Lo utilizzo per speziare fragranze proditoriamente troppo dolci.
Gradevole.

Updated 22/06/15: I sold my bottle. It was just too masculine on me, and DH thought it was too feminine on him. My colleague, who carries off patchouli like a pro, fell in love with it and said she would buy it from me. So off it went to its new home.
Another Fragrantican recommended that I get this and at first, when I tried it, I thought I had been, well, had. The initial spray is a blast of tonka-patch that quite literally takes your breath away. It’s strong and powdery and overwhelming. After a few minutes I got an unpleasant dirty-socks smell and was feeling quite irritated that I had fallen for it.
But my membership of Fragrantica has taught me nothing if not to let a perfume settle and not judge it by its opening notes.
After about 10 minutes, the dirty socks and breathlessness have gone, and given way to a powdery patch, strong but soft tonka, and a note reminiscent of mint/menthol. And it still smells like this 2 hours later. There is a lovely rose whisper running through it, and it is herbal and clean. It smells so fresh yet grounded and I really, really like it.
When I move it wafts at me and I can’t help but breathe it in. So heady.
I am very, very pleased with this blind buy 🙂

I don’t know why, but i can claerly smell only the powdery iris-like note (very similar to prada/infusion d’homme) it can be tonka and white musk, i can’t detect any of head notes. it’s a nice, clean and wearable scent, but has nothing to do with patchouli (which i used to know)… insignificant
Coyote1282 – :
Patchouli top notes with ginger. Screechingly intense without the depth of a good bottle of thick, syrupy patchouli. The whole point of patchouli is it’s earthiness, it’s oriental mystique. This has none of it. Sanitised hippie juice for those who want a taste of hippie-dom whilst denying it, or those who just like it for what it is. Not awful, just a bit voiceless for me.
Idiowereerurl – :
This smells really clean – a “straight forward” type of perfume. There are no hidden nuances or surprises here. Light “dry” spices, it reminds me of Imperial Leather soap. Rose is very subtle in it, but I can smell it there. I don’t really have a problem with the longevity, it’s no worse than a lot of my perfumes – also it’s reasonably priced. Just spray a little more (so’s it gets onto clothes) & it’s fine ! Very unisex, it’s a really nice perfume. Very well made, good quality for the price, imo.
Edit: I reach for this often & it gets compliments. I’d recommend to anyone who’s after an easy-going likeable scent, that isn’t a girly fruity floral.
ColumbianDrunk – :
This is “nice”, quite soft and powdery with subtle vanilla/spice notes. It’s not a powerhouse of a perfume and its pretty one dimensional but it would be nice as a skin scent or as a layering cologne as it doesn’t have the complexity or muscle to stand alone. Not bad, not brilliant, just nice.

favoloso…appena comprato..io ci sento la rosa e un fondo molto talcato..ottimo per 34,00€!!
mogyglalo – :
Soft patchouli (missing in the heart notes here) embedded within tonka (cocoa effect), and a hint of spicy rose. Smells very much like a lighter version of L’Instant pour homme by Guerlain. Fits men and women.Quite nice but poor sillage and longevity. I’d say it’s a skin scent.
millj – :
I have just recently bought this as part of a set of 5 miniatures sold at the Fragonard site lovely scent. Very soft patchouli blended with undertones of variety of things floral spicy herbal. I have the patchouli essential oil and compared to that this is totally different and soft not the usual deep intense patchouli most now. Most definitely something I would buy again. Fragonard patchouli fits both men and women.
pavel0586 – :
Why is patchouli missing from the base notes? Quite a substantial mistake seeing as the fragrance is called Patchouli, and smells of patchouli.
