Description

The new edition “reflects the encounter between incandescent water and molten rock which produces the most beautiful and mysterious golden smoke, the enveloping scent is luminous and warm.”

The composition is signed by perfumer Christophe Raynaud, created around the “noble” and “nostalgic” note of incense with additional accords of natural spices, rich essences of roses and woods, such as cedar, sandalwood and vetiver, with a hint of leather tones.

It is available as a 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Or Encens was launched in 2017.

Awful from the bottle, which could explain some of the negative reviews, amazing once on the skin, a real surprise. Unusual, sophisticated and expensive smelling. A small amount goes a long way.
    Perfect for colder evenings.
It was a mistaken purchase by myself at an airport, but one that I’m very glad that I made.
This will be my go to winter fragrance.

Very Smokey, leathery and sweet rose with woody background..
This is a unique and daring fragrance. Smells expensive and niche.
Longevity is crazy, lasts 12+ hrs on skin and for days on clothes.

Tried this at London Heathrow Airport. To me it’s a strong rose and labdanum fragrance that lingers long enough to give it a middle-eastern vibe. Could not smell incense & vetiver. Base has a dry woody feel. It lasted for 4 hrs on my skin.

Can’t decide if I like it or not but its much better than NOIR AMBER

Anyone know if/when this is coming out in the US? The sound of an Issey Miyake rose and incense scent sounds divine, especially without oud.

What a shame, after the amazing Noir Ambre release I had high hopes for this one, but it’s badicslly a worse version of CH Men Prive or Yves Rocher Ambre Noir

Here we go (and I am yawning already because I am already tired of it)! Yet another re-incarnation of ISSEY MIYAKE L’Eau D’Issey. (yawn again).
I think there should be an EU law that states, you can only reincarnate or produce half a dozen flankers but not more! You wish!
Seriously, while I had high hopes in terms of ingredients, the overall execution and blending of (inferior) raw materials is very bad for this hodgepodge of a scent.
I find it very poorly executed and it smells very chemical and artificial. Normally “screechy” would be something you’d expect from a citrus or otherwise hesperidic scent, but this one is a sweet, ambery, woodsy mess of a screechy scent.
Extremely unpleasant for my nose, but so have been most of Christophe Raynaud’s compositions.
Verdict: TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

Rose without oud? I might actually like it. Not sure if it is close enough to the originals to keep the name but it is worth a try. Notes appear to be similar to Declaration d’Un Soir Intense.
