I confess, I’m always on the hunt for a lavender that can compete with my absolute “take no prisoners”, “king of the hill”, “fairest one of all” Sous le Vent. Why Guerlain d/c SLV has to be the worst executive decision of all time in the perfume industry. Back to this one, though, Berdoues Lavandula Vera; it’s pretty good.
The rose hasn’t emerged yet, 45 minutes after first spritz. The lavender is sweetened by the amber and tonka bean. I think this is a fine unisex fragrance. It doesn’t really evolve much… the lavender of course is brighter at first spray. Is this the “stuck on an island forever” bottle? No. Is it wearable? Absolutely. Sillage is mild; so very office friendly. It’s also a bargain; I bought my 100 ml bottle from an online discounter ~ $18. On the 1-10 scale a solid 7 IMO.
