Description

After popular editions for men Lapidus Pour Homme from 1978 which is also one of the bestsellers of the house and its successor Lapidus Pour Homme Black Extreme from 2012, the house of Ted Lapidus launches another masculine fragrance named Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme, created as a classic, sophisticated and more contemporary version of the first perfume.

Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme provides an elegant composition which opens with a blend of pink grapefruit, cardamom and pink pepper in top notes, combined with hot spices in the heart, among which are cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, sweetened with sweet orange zest. The base of the composition is even warmer in the heart and creates masculine harmony intertwined of amber, vanilla, leather and vetiver.

The new fragrance of the Ted Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme collection is available in a bottle of the same form as fragrances Lapidus Pour Homme and Lapidus Pour Homme Black Edition, but this time in golden color. The fragrance is available as 100 ml EDT. Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme was launched in 2015.

Like a sweeter One Million. A great cheap replacement for it. Awesome projection, especially for the price. And it has more of the floral that you would have gotten from Halloween Man, which is sadly discontinued. This one is a winner in my book for sure. I love that sweet spice on a man, especially if he has the brazen personality to back it up. Oh yeah!

This is the most weak flanker of the line, but i’m really a fan of the original,so i am bias.Anyway,it is more a twist of the Black extreme one, this is less flowery and i think also less sweet, but sensually creamy.Cinnamon, amber,Vanille and leather are the prominent notes, with a zingy start. As usual, longevity and sillage are very good.I think it is more for the younger, playful audience.

First Impression: Not even close to 1 Million or any of the flankers. It is a warm spicy scent, but it’s actually kinda transparent and hard to detect if you’re expecting something super heavy and sweet, it screams of quality though. I think it’s beautifully blended and doesn’t scream at all. It’s more of a subtle masculine spicy accord with a delicious base of vetiver and vanilla. This is ultra modern, does not feel old school at all. This is something totally new and awesome. The clove and pink pepper combo is actually super masculine and understated, this is a very very very sophisticated scent, and I think everyone should definitely try this out on the skin and wear it for a day. It’s a refreshing break from other scents, and stands on it’s own as being extremely unique. I just need to see how long it lasts, as I type I’m about 30 minutes in and I’m loving it.

Released in early 2015, Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme came to complement the Lapidus collection, whose original fragrance was launched in 1978 and earned its first variation, in 2012, called Lapidus Pour Homme Black Extreme.
According to the official press release, Lapidus was inspired by its origins: the stone (from Latin word lapideus). This time, the inspiration is an ochre rock, present in the South of France, which shines under the rays of the Sun and offers a range of bright and warm tones.
And as we already know, one of the biggest obstacles that a new product may face is the public’s opinion. However, when it comes to fragrances, the situation gets a huge proportion, even more with the internet within the reach of all.
There was a time when every fragrance that had the word Black in its name was automatically compared to Bvlgari Black. This process was repeated, after the huge success of 1 Million. Since then, any bottle painted in gold is automatically compared to Paco Rabanne’s fragrance.
Obviously, these simplistic and generalized comparisons have their positive and their negative sides.
Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme brings notes of pink grapefruit, pink pepper of Bourbon and cardamom, in the output. Then, combines notes of orange blossom, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and plum wood, in the body. At the bottom of the olfactory pyramid, notes of vetiver, amber, vanilla and leather, enclosing the composition.
On the skin, the result is weird! The juicy side of the grapefruit merges the spicy side of the cardamom and results in a medicinal and, at the same time, astringent output. It looks like you grabbed a bottle of shampoo to smell, and accidentally, some of the content hit your nostril. If too much applied, makes you sneeze.
After a few minutes, when the body of the fragrance should already be exuding, it gets hard to identify the hot spices and, above all, the scent of orange blossom, usually sweet and indolic. To my nose, stand out the fruity notes of plum wood and a bit of cinnamon, but nothing too spicy. Finally, after a long and subtle evolution, I notice only the amber and an oriental nuance.
Curiously, on my skin this version caused me olfactory fatigue. After a while, I can’t feel the scent, but I know it is still spreading. I say this because I received several compliments during the test phases and this is, perhaps, the positive side that I couldn’t see. It exhales very well and, with respect to lasting, lives up to the tradition and the Ted Lapidus family’s name.
To me, Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme has no resemblance to 1 Million or the other Lapidus fragrances, what disappointed me enough (unless the current fragrance of Lapidus Pour Homme smells like this one, after reformulated). It was clear that it’s just another flanker, following the market trend in taking advantage of names and visual identities, reducing costs.
It may be a good option for the young men, who go to ballads, but not for the man who identifies with the DNA of Lapidus line. The Black Extreme version is very good, in my opinion, but this one left a lot to be desired. When it comes to colognes with medicinal signature and warm nuances, I prefer Bogart Story Red.
I move on, hoping that Lapidus Pour Homme Sport, announced in November 2015, is better than this one.

This fragrance smells just like Paco Rabanne 1 million. It is a good buy for someone who wants a cheaper option of 1 Milion and a better Longevity and Sillage than Cuba Royal. But personally I probably won’t buy it again, having 1 milion already.

I have bogart pour homme and this smells nothing like it, this is Lapidus jumping onto the One Million success train hoping to pull over some of its crowd(along with their money). Less cloyingly sweet but same vibe.
Seriously Lapidus, stick to the old school barber shop type of scents and refine it. Take away the urinous note out from LpH and replace it with something nice like cloves, whiskey etc

Very original and strong. Probably not for teenagers but for people well settled and with a strong personality. My son dislikes it but I tested it and was positively surprised and encouraged to dare try it on myself later.

Really really nice. Yeah, you can say its has the same vibe one million has… but they dont smell the same. If you think silver scent smells like grapes, you can say lapidus gold smells like cherries. Cardamom is the major note in this one. Not a disgusting annoying cardamom but something different and intensive. Vanilla is strong here too, and with the cardamom they brings me something like tonka, thats why in my opinion it remembers me of bogart pour homme but is pretty close to ARSENAL GOLD. Longevity 9/10 and Sillage 9/10.
