“Kalevala is a Gothic and smoke-inspired scent which was inspired by our experience in Finland. The Kalevala is a 19th-century work of epic poetry which was compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology. It is sung during Finland’s Juhannus fire festivals, which is a memorable and remarkable experience.  

When you are in the heart of Finland’s forests during Juhannus and the folkloric singers start singing the Kalevala, you are surrounded by the scents of fire, smoke, pine, leather, and berries. We sought to capture that experience in a bottle. Our Kalevala was extremely challenging to formulate, but it is the house’s personal favorite.” – a note from the brand.
