Description

“Discover a forbidden garden of fatal flowers, alluringly beautiful but too dangerous to touch. Experience their enchanting scent through this narcotic fragrance collection. The scent captures a fatal sensuality with creamy exoticism, and dark woods. The top lures with a burst of plum and ripe berry to introduce the scent. In the heart, a blend of black vanilla and jasmine petals add a seductive touch. It finishes with a layer of rich, textured woods and smooth amber with a hint of musk for the right blend of tempting and lasting warmth.” – Brand website

Jasmin Venom was launched in 2018.

What can I say? When i saw this collection and the price I knew I had to have all three. This was my second favorite. Oleander was first, Narcissus third. This is very pleasant. I never thought I would care for a plum/vanilla combination, but it works. I definitely get jasmine from my bottle though. I have discovered that there can be subtle differences in batches, so those who could barely detect it are probably right. My only complaint about all three is longevity. I get an hour and a half tops, but for 14 dollars you can’t really complain too much. This is nothing earthshaking, but I like it. It’s a good go-to perfume if you just want something simple to feel pretty. Thanks Drew. <3

Pretty weak and generic. Does NOT smell like BS Midnight Fantasy.

The peridot bottle drew me in. Considering this is a $13 perfume, the bottle looks really nice. The scent is not as strong as I expected for something advertised as part of a “narcotic fragrance collection” (according to the back of the box).
At first, I was disappointed because I expected a sharp, poisonous heady jasmine floral, and that is NOT what this is. I did not read the notes before trying it; just assumed something called “Jasmin Venom” would be a STONKING strong indolic jasmine. It’s not. It’s mostly vanilla plum. “Plum Poison” would have been a better name for it. Initially, I disliked this since I felt it was a misrepresentation.
Once the scent warmed up after a few hours, I was able to give it a more fair trial. The plum and vanilla are deep and pretty, and they create lovely accord. And thank goodness this is NOT SWEET! Still inhaling ISO the jasmine, which I cannot detect, but my nostrils are probably burned out like airplane jets from the large quantities of gardenia/jasmine/orange blossom/neroli & tuberose I tend to wear. Wait, there is a little jasmine in there, lurking in the background behind the plum and vanilla. Nice. Not too strong. After several hours, this one shot up to a strong like in my book. It warms up once it has been on the skin for a while, but lies there doing nothing on clothing. Needs to be sprayed on the skin.
Final thoughts: Definitely a LIKE and worth the $14. Because of the notes and the fact that it’s about 108 degrees where I live, this one gets put away until the first mellow day in autumn. Vanilla is NOT for hot weather.
    Puts me in mind of:
    Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy (~75%)
Dior Hypnotic Poison (~25%), just some notes
    Avon Imari Seduction (~90%)
Ariana Grande Moonlight (~45%), but lacks sweetness
    Sofia Vergara Sofia (~80%)
Makes me think of Dior Poison but does not really smell like it. Something about the aesthetic.
I wanted this to be weirder. But it’s nice.

I finally bought this one at a different Walmart as I was on my way out of town anyway for the weekend, and could not wait until mid August for my local Walmart to restock. It is around $14 total, so hey, no harm, no foul 🙂
I really like it, and I can see that it has an “uniqueness” compared to the other two from the same collection (Lethal Oleander and Narcissus Fatale). And believe it or not, from the opening, Jasmine Venom put me in the middle of the road, “confusing” it with…Mugler Angel Eau Sucree 2015 :)))) Either way, if I’m loosing my mind and my sense already…or not, it is still a HAPPY ending, as I really enjoy that Angel very much, and this one “reminded” me of its vibe! I know…I know…They both don’t share so much of similar notes, but still…Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. I’m fine with that 🙂
Jasmine Venom started out with a blast of something like “patchouli”/”green” scent for about 5 seconds and then prominent musk and plum showed up as a compatible pair with a soft woody supporter. This is definitely a surprise for me as I was expecting jasmine to be the star. I guess this is what they call the “venom” of “jasmine” then. I vaguely detected jasmine in the back combination anyway, but did recognize a gently sweet vanillic fruits, just enough to soften the plummy, woody musk. The name suits well with the juice and they should have “switched” its bottle color with Lethal Oleander 🙂 Then both perfumes would be perfect with their names and looks, IMO 🙂 I enjoy the dry down of Jasmine Venom a lot as the plum also got sweeter. You do have to be a little patient with this one to really appreciate it.
It was considered my first successful adventure with miss Barrymore’s perfumes ever. Out of all three bottles this time from the Flower Pretty Deadly collection, I will keep this one and Lethal Oleander and add Narcissus Fatale to the “pot luck/give away” bin along with my other knick-knack things that I don’t use anymore, for one of my close friends. Any time she visits us, she always brings over some of her yummy homemade sweet treats, in “trading” for stuff that I give her. Happy win-win situation for everyone :))

This one has been sold out at my Walmart for now and will be restocked by August 12. It has been listed for sale for $12.98 plus tax for 1.7 oz 50 ml bottle.

This is far more elegant than I expected. The fruits are muted. I would say this is a musky, woody, amber jasmine with a hint of plum and vanilla. Not too sweet. The scent matches the color of the bottle. I double tapped my wrists, neck, and chest. It has been a little past 3 hours for longevity and when I walked into the kitchen my aunt could smell me from the last place I was standing. So moderate sillage. She complimented me straight away.
Definitely worth the price. And even though I hate respraying I don’t mind it in this case. Drew Barrymore really outdid herself.
