Description

Janca is inspired by rarest flowers that imported into the Biella area in early 19th century to decorate the land and stimulate the imagination of the creators of fabrics. This is a fruity-flowery fragrance which should evoke an image of wonderful exotic gardens on the banks of the crystalline water of the legendary Janca.

The refined notes of the precious Florentine iris precede the fruity notes of peach, tamarind and mandarin and the delicate bouquet of linden, osmanthus and magnolia, followed by spicy and aromatic notes of cardamom. The sensual and intense base is composed of musk, cedarwood and patchouli.

It comes in simply lined, but elegant 100ml (3.4 oz.fl.) bottle with dark pink label with its name and, of course, the coat of Savoia.
The perfume was launched in 2004.
The nose behind this fragrance is Maurizio Cerizza.

A very light, slightly acidic floral, with a lovely spicy cardamom note. While I like it, it’s not my favourite. It would be suitable for warm weather.

This is a lovely floral – fresh perfume. Its like I’m sitting by a creek under a shady Linden tree in bloom, by a river with a gentle fresh breeze sending wafts of blossom, water lilies & earthiness of the place. A safe clean slightly spicy scent that you can wear anywhere anytime, a little understated and common/familiar too.

I’m unsure about this one. At first it’s quite soft and almost nondescript, but within minutes the fruity-floral notes are touched by the spices and it blossoms a bit more on my skin and shows a bit more personality. It smells quite elegant and inoffensive, but I’m not sure it’s wowing me. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t feel it makes me happier having it on than not.
I just reviewed Cashmere Twill by this same house, and from what I can tell, soft and inoffensive seem to be the mission statement of this house. Not bad, just the way it is!

Nice! Opens with a bang of peach and mandarins, As it dries down I can smell the iris and magnolia which is underlined by the cardomom – I definitely notice the patchouli, cedar and musk but not overpoweringly so. There is a slight medicinal undertone to it all and I don’t know whether that is down to the cedar and cardamom mix?
I would describe this as a floral fruity but it also comes across as a tad oriental as well! It becomes very powdery after about 20 mins and I swear I can detect Rose although it’s not in the notes – maybe it’s just the powderyness of it?
Silage isn’t that great and it fades quite fast on my skin. Overall it is a gentle inoffensive day-time scent which would need a couple of top ups to keep it going!
Would I recommend it? Well, I’m not sure!!! I think one to try before you buy!

VeroniqueLeon, you said mostly what I would have mentioned about this scent. I got a minty/tiger balm note from this. It was a little powdery but I couldn’t take the medicine like note in this.
