Description
“I had a dream
I dreamt of a world
Where differences embrace
To give birth to the exceptional.
I had a dream
I dreamt of a universal being
With a dignity primitively human, primordial
With a conscience shared and a memory mutual.
I had a dream
I dreamt of a harmonious breeze
Reconciling humanity with nature.
I had a dream
I dreamt of art as a response to hatred and woe
An independent impertinent art that binds talents, rebinds minds and unbinds emotions.
An art that builds bridges in the places where walls arise” — press release of the brand. J’ai Fait Un Rêve Obscur was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Marina Jung-Allegret.

A wonderful intense woody experience. I get bergamot, pepper and woods on the opening. Im usually wary of the pepper note but this works really well. It does it’s job in intensifying the other notes yet not irritating your nose. I do get the saffron but for a little while the other notes dominate. There is a sweetness behind everything from the vanilla and others woods stopping it get too peppery. The vanilla becomes increasingly apparent with time. I guess the heat of your skin brings it out more.
I really love it and would wear it on chilly days. That intensity warms you. A very unisex scent. I get good longevity and sillage.

Smells very similar to Amouge Honour for a few hours and than after the 6th hour it becomes something totally different. But at that point it is nothing more than a skin scent. I think Honour performs better than this. I own Fusion Obscur from this house and that is a really unique smell with much better performance than Reve Obscur. But this whole one frag resembling another one is all a relative thing. What I think one frag smells like, for somebody else it might be a completely different experience. So after blind buying about 30 frags based on reviews (and half of it with disappointing results), I decided testing is the best way to go.
So with this one as with any frag, especially the niche ones, try before you buy. Luckyscent sells test vials. But if you want to go for a bottle, it’s cheaper on Notino

The cedar gives me the vibe of by kilian straight to heaven, but it is more going on in this with the saffron etc. Its leaning a bit toward the feminine with the flowers.

I get mostly a lemony citrus scent from this. Clean and lemony. Even though the note says bergamot which most horticulturists speculate is a cross between a lime and a bitter orange. Anyway my nose perceives it as lemon. And then my brain connects that to lemon scented cleaner. So I’m not a big fan of this. Oh well.

A well-balanced perfume, spicy with a slight sweetness in the background! Saffron and Oud wood give it a refined air. I like to start with a powerful pink pepper, and after a few minutes as cashmere and very beautiful cedar wood give depth! And ‘an evocative and sophisticated fragrance. Love it!!

I love this composition. I CAN smell the oud and saffron combo first. The vanilla flower is what keeps things feel a little sweet, but it’s a light natural sweet that mixes with the pepper and spices. It’s amazing… Longevity is good projects ok.
I do think it’s one of the houses best offerings. I really don’t know what people see in fusion sacree, but hey I probably wouldn’t of discovered the other offerings if it wasn’t for that one.
This stuff is niche at its finest. True art in liquid form. Love it!
Overall 8.5/10

This may be the most non linear scent I’ve ever encountered. It’s like a new discovery every 5 mins I smell my hand
Very peppery, clean and spicy. Musky and good. I like it. There’s this light and I mean very light and unlying sweet tinge that makes me keep smelling my arm. I’m covered in samples right now so I’ll have to come back for this one. I do like it though…
