It is curious to see the Ermenegildo Zegna brand create a scent for the male audience whose theme is related to Integrity. I say this because perfumery is an industry that is sustained by the lack of Integrity – especially if you consider that one of the pillars of Integrity is honesty and that the creation of a perfume involves lies that range from the olfactory pyramid to the use of precious materials that often do not even tickle the % formulation of the perfume and, consequently, its price per bottle. Celebrating this as the theme of a masculine scent besides not being an easy task is a great irony.
At least Integrity delivers what it promises – even if its aroma is relatively safe it is honest with respect to the theme and price range charged. In addition, the perfume is trustworthy in the idea proposed and true in its evolution – there are no surprises or a quality decline of its evolution in relation to the opening; Perhaps what has been lacking in it is a greater precision in relation to its description of notes
Just like Passion Integrity also features a nuance of leather in its aroma that is not listed on the olfactory pyramid. It is a delicate scent like a suede and with a subtle animalic touch, a leather idea that seems to come from a combination of violet, patchouli and perhaps castoreum (the last two of which might enter indirectly into the amber accord of the perfume) . On top of that there is a green theme with a discreet floral nuance that stays stable from start to finish on the skin. Part of the green is coming from the violets also and certainly amplified by the geranium. There is a citrus scent that surrounds the green and it is intriguing because it is difficult to decipher which citrus note it is. Although the description lists sage, the herbal and green aroma of Integrity seems to go more towards herbs used primarily to make tea – something between a fennel or lemon balm perhaps.
To interpret a theme as abstract as integrity would not be an easy task, but what I see is what is delivered seems to be consistent with both a more refined and contained style of the branf as well as a proposal to create more luxurious and exclusive perfumes. Although other important variables contribute to the price of a perfume, its aroma should be consistent with the image created and Integrity at least does not fall into that trap. It is an easy to use, elegant and interesting perfume in its details.

I have greatly enjoyed Zegna’s past offerings in the realm of fragrance. I really like their Indonesian Oud, Peruvian Ambrette, Haitian Vetiver, Bourbon Vanilla, and Indian Spice. I was able to obtain samples of all the fragrances in the new “Elements of Man” series. As of now I have only tried Passion and Integrity. Passion is a fantastic scent, so far the best in series, Integrity is another story altogether.
I have never disliked a fragrance like I have with integrity. I have never had such a reaction to a perfume like I did with this one, it made me nauseous and gave me headache. I did not dislike this fragrance for its notes, I disliked it because I couldn’t wear it.

Sage and geranium are in the lead, the fragrance is spicy, elegant and mature, demanding a proper outfit.

Not sure if this has been released yet, but I got to try it way in advance at the Chicago boutique. All I can remember about it is that it’s my favorite of the new line. I remember one of the others smelling like Tobacco Vanille and another one smelling like Zegna Mediterranean Neroli, which they are discontinuing
