Description

Insolence Eau de Parfum arrives as more intensive, intoxicating and magical than its antecedent Insolence Eau de Toillete. It features a new colour of the bottle which stands for intoxicating scents hiding inside it. The dark and seductive bottle is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP.

The composition is similar: accentuated iris and endlessly seductive violets which are set in the very heart of the perfume. The perfume was created for an eccentric and chic woman, who thrives for perfection.
Insolence Eau de Parfum was launched in 2008. Insolence Eau de Parfum was created by Sylvaine Delacourte and Maurice Roucel.

I get the skin of a red grape and powder. Loving it!

@rola.asad….I think that smell from childhood is Mr Bubbles! Like a grown up version.
I can see this as a comforting scent and I’m hoping for a nice hot day to try this in the heat. Today is rainy with a chill. I’d like to try layering with a scent that has a warmer base.
I love Guerlain and am hoping for their base to people through. I don’t see this as a Love right now but a like. Definitely a keeper as far as I don’t own any other scent like this and it could be a great layered. I think my first will be Elephant. I burn wax melts and ironically today, I have one warmer with a strong cinnamon and the other with violets and irises. The combo is very nice!
I’ll update more as I get to know this better.

Absolutely phenomenal, so Guerlain, so current and timeless at the same time. Like Apres L’Ondee and L’Heure Bleue’s great granddaughter.
Insolence smells of la Belle Epoque, and it smells of the future, with no gap in between! 🙂 What a feat to create a marvel like this. Chapeau Monsieur Roucel!

Ahhhhhh! Fragrance definitely impacts mood and few fragrances can uplift my mood better than Insolence EDP. This fruity, fizzy, violet bomb is not as strong, cloying or in-your-face as reviews make it seem, but it lasts and lasts…This is definitely aimed at the younger crowd but is nowhere as insipid as the other fruity gourmand”pink juices” that flood the market today. Insolence EDP is sweet violet candies dusted with very expensive makeup with a dash of red fruit. I’m so glad to score a 100 ml bottle in the old, psychedelic purple packaging. Casual, yes but it is also complex enough for special occasions. I am afraid this might topple Samsara as my current favorite Guerlain.

I got this one and had to return it. I really wanted to love it though. Guerlain make great perfumes but this one is just not for me. It is violet and lovely and all that. but it is just too sharp for me. It is indeed insolence. It represent a beautiful and pride girl who think she is better than anyone else. Some people may find it charming. i think, maybe its good for young 20 to wear??? not sure.

A little stronger and more serious version than the EDT. Its like you mean it a little bit more.. I still love it though.. powder, violets, tonkabean, iris and truckloads of feminine fluff. Cant stop smelling myself when Im wearing this. #guerlainforpresidentofperfumes.

My one of the most have fragrance. It’s so soft, enveloping and warm. For me it’s too rich to wear during summer time, but for autumn or winter it’s more than perfect.
    Longevity 10/10, silage 7/10.

This truly is a beautiful perfume, it basically smells of powdery violets. If you like feminine sweet/ floral perfumes that are not too young and overly sweet this is for you. It suits all ages and is suitable for any occasion. However, this is likely to be an signature scent. It has great longevity and lasts over 8 hours on my skin and clothes. This is my first guerlain perfume and I am impressed so will definitely be buying more!

This is similar to Thierry Mugler Alien EDP but a bit sweeter. Very long lasting and good silage. This was a blind buy and I happen to like it. Me happy !

yguess, replace with what, with the new ugly, gross bottle and the half performances reformulated perfume inside? Even this obnoxious bootle was also discontinued after few months, on guerlain.com this fragrance is simply disappeared.

Wrap me up in violets, dust me in powder and send me to market. Must like make up powder and violets to even try… This is a complicated fragrance that you will either love or hate. I love that for me, different notes play differently each time I wear it. It is a screamer, and will shout loudly all day. I can’t say I ever got a compliment about this perfume, but I don’t care…I wear this cause it makes me smile. I would be interested to find the man that though this was a sexy time perfume… Can’t imagine what he would look like. I couldn’t make this a signature scent, but enjoy enough that I will replace the bottle when gone. Soon =(

This is a makeup bag in all it’s glory! Powder and lipstick combine in the most overwhelming, obnoxious way. I was overcome! It didn’t like me either: It gave me an itchy, red rash on my skin. Insolence! Onto the swap list it goes. PM me to add it to your collection.

A very strong violet perfume, kind of sad but elegant and beautiful. I have to admit I bought this for sentimental reasons, as it reminds me of the violet sweets my great grandma used to always have in the house. I sniff it when I am in a bit of nostalgic mood and it just takes me back in time. It smells like old-school glamour to me-it is very feminine and graceful and last for ages. I agree with the previous comment-it is a perfume everyone should experience at lest once. I can’t see myself wearing it but I do absolutely love it.

  14. :

OMG I LOVE THIS. It smells elegant like violet lipstick and grape pez all at the same time. I may have to change my signature. I’m truly in heaven when i smell this. Everyone should experience this perfume at least once.

I am not a powdery fragrance fan and I fell in love with Insolence EDP
The magic is, this is not a grandma powdery but more of a boudoir powdery, kind of romantic.
I wear it on its own during the day and for night time, I mix it with Shalimar Souffle Intense, this combo turns the powdery romantic into powdery erotic, animalistic..
    ÉDIT
I’ve just had a « eureka » moment when spraying Insolence this morning.
The name of this fragrance is true to the smell. In this powdery smell, I can picture a boudoir smell, with a cheeky, sassy woman… (Insolence = Sassy in English)

It’s dark purple in feeling, just like the bottle and juice. It is meloncholy, but there’s a playful side too. Sandalwood comes through after the first phase, then it stays a slightly creamy, woody violet scent until the tonka really comes through. By about an hour in, tonka becomes equally as dominant as the violets, which I love! Longevity is outstanding, projection is strong. I only spray 3 times tops and that’s enough to carry me through most of the day. Unless you know you want to smell like all violets, this may be too much for you. It’s essentially a violet soliflore with a few added notes that compliment and amplify Violet, changing little by little from start to finish. So it’s not totally linear but not complex in its changing either. I am considering purchasing edt now as well, but I think the edp will remain my favorite Insolence. According to the batch code, my bottle is from 2017.

  17. :

    5 out of 5

Unbelievably beautiful perfume, to me is a very sophisticated, elegant and atemporal lipstick-like scent, the kind that easily could be enjoyed by women over different centuries . It’s very cosmetic and lipsticky, floral, expensive, lipstick smell, this is truly what I think of when I think of “PERFUME”. Not certain notes, this or that vibe, nor this or that flower, just plain and simple elegant, womanly perfume.
I can see so easily why this is so beloved and so many have it as signature, it has so much: it’s both elegant to the max and also very sexy, it has a non vulgar, low-key sensuality. Easy to wear and suited for most occasions without being in the least bit boring.
It also is super long lasting on me. Ugh, I just wish I was the kind of person who would FEEL this as their signature, I can’t shake my conviction that I am to be forever a Signorina Misteriosa kinda girl…

I bought Insolence Eau de Parfum on the strength of the many positive reviews. Although I knew it was mainly violet but I never imagined how overpowering the violets would smell. I find it a little sickly sweet. I so wanted to love this perfume and I won’t give up on it just yet.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

This is one of my favourite perfumes, it belongs to my top five most loved fragrances: a powdery, sweet, narcotic, intoxicating, sexy violet on steroids with bomb longevity and sillage. The Guerlinade is definitely there also. Sometimes I think this smells like violet blossoms-shaped candies, some other times it makes me think of a romance, a love story taking place in Paris during La Belle Époque (although it’s a modern scent, not an old fashioned one, but still French, very Parisien).
I also love the new packaging, the mythical Bee Bottle designed in 1853 by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain for the Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoléon III.

  20. :

New packaging is simply glorious. Same violet goodness in a sleeker, more classic bottle. I think this bottle reflects the fragrance better. Well done, Guerlain

  21. :

Iris and violet goodness! The new bee bottle is beautiful. I also noticed the sillage and longevity are longer. No change in smell from the old bottle.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Tried the new repackaged version in a boutique and it goes strong. After a day it still projects of paper strip and I can smell it of few meters apart, and on cloth I sprayed it still goes strong too. I never tried the original, but the performance is really good even with the new bee bottles, really impressive.
Amazing fragrance creation, I am thinking to get this as a male.

  23. :

@ MonsieurGuerlain Sorry for the misunderstanding of your article. I definitely shouldn’t reed when I’m at work, switching from one language to another. But I won’t change my mind: your site is very interesting and the release of the Bee bottle at Guerlain matches with watered down versions of at least Vol de Nuit, Jicky, Samsara and as Catty said, Insolence.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

@DomfromBE I’m happy that you find my article useful, although it says that the formula code is so complex that it’s practically of no use. It certainly can’t be used to determine reformulations. In addition, I stated that the myth about a link between packaging design changes and reformulation is NOT true.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

@ Catty Usually when you have a new bottle the perfume is reformulated and you will find a very helpful article on Monsieur Guerlain website about the batch codes and the codes of the formulas that are mentionned on Guerlain’s boxes.
Your impression about Insolence is the same as mine for Samsara and Vol de Nuit or Jicky in the new Bee Bottles…

  26. :

    5 out of 5

@ Chazas The original bottle is still for sale depending on the stocks but the production is on the bee bottle now. And such an heavy (over)sweet violet note is rarely expected for men, it’s not to be compared with the dry woody leathery violet of G. Beene’s Grey Flannel, IMO.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

This is one of my favourite perfumes.I am not a violet or iris lover so kept staying far away from this.I tried it lately and i have fallen under this perfume’s smell.I am not a fan of candy-sweet scents. When i smell it i dont get something innocent.I get something dark, sexy and feminine.Yes its strong,it smells like powder, sugar and maybe flowers.so a tiny amount and its perfect

  28. :

    3 out of 5

I love the fruity powderiness of this fragrance! The whiffs I catch are fantastic! Sillage is great, longevity is amazing too! The only issue I have with this fragrance is that it smells…hot? on my skin. If I remember well, the EDT didn’t smell hot on me, so I’m going to test that again. Too much powder for my skin, I suppose.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

A good example of packaging (hideous, in this case) not being representative of the product you actually get. The bottle screams ingineu, tween, immaturity and a desire to be different when all you’re really being is cringy, just like everyone else like you. The fragrance itself isn’t entirely different, but I don’t believe it was meant to be a shockingly new thing. It’s a violet scent with powdery undertones and fruity overtones. It’s been done and if it was meant to be a new thing, it failed that.
All this being said, as negative as it is, I actually love this fragrance. It feels like a loving nod back to Après l’Ondee. That is to say, a traditional Guerlain violet. As Après l’Ondee is so hard to get for a good price, especially vintage, this is an okay substitute. It can be heavy at first but it dries down really well, very similar to a trademark Sylvaine Delacourte ‘white musk ball’
I hated the EDT, because it actually suited the packaging. Reminded me of a teenager’s deodorant. This is elegant and chic, for a grown up. Rather lovely.

I just bought this a few days ago and I like it very much. It’s certainly not too strong for me (I love Jungle Elephant by Kenzo by the way). I find it’s really nice on clothes and in my hair (and on my body too). Like others have said before me this perfume smells like candied flowers, particularly violet. I love it.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

Oh! Ok, I didn’t expect to enjoy Insolence as much as I did.
It’s an airy, powdery, sweet violet with KILLER longevity and sillage. A bit gourmand and not super complicated, which it doesn’t need to be. I feel that careful dosage is the way to go with Insolence; the first time I wore it I only used one swipe of a tester and had my coworkers sniffing thoughtfully and leaning closer for a second whiff! Many positive comments followed, from men and women.
I am of the opinion that the bottle (I like the new frosted bottle with bees a biiit more) is ugly and that the name is stupid (yes, even though “insolence” isn’t quite as harsh in french), but we all know what’s important is the juice, right?
I would probably have bought a full bottle even if it were more expensive.
Edit: I find myself reaching for this a lot, guys. Performance is wonderful, so no need to reapply constantly. Scent is generic enough to be a crowd pleaser, yet unusual enough to garner heaps of “tell-me-where-you-bought-it!”. Though gourmand, the scent profile works well in the heat of summer, for comfort during colder seasons and (applied with a light hand) at work.

I have nothing in my collection similar to this perfume, I’m not a violet lover! So wasn’t sure to make a risk and buy it blindly, despite all the positive reviews here, so I went to the shop and tried it, the moment I smelt it, it took me back when I was a child I smelled this scent somewhere, but really can’t remember where, and i didn’t want to write a review before recognizing what was that! But after a month I said whatever that thing is screw it!
As I decided to add this foreign and strange memeber to its sisters, today I wanted to try it,and discover it more, then during the day i was speaking with a friend of mine, when a guy entered the room and said “Oh there is something smells heavenly here, so in my mind I knew it was “insolence”!!! So I raised my wrist to him so he can smell the fragrance, and he immediately shouted “Oh damn yes, that is coming from you” , and he added this doesn’t smell like fragrance!!
So yes guys this is my review for this beauty!

  33. :

This is a solid like from me. I am enjoying the fruity violet dryer sheet vibe (same reason I like Joop on other people), it’s very clean and classy, but this is not a statement maker. To me, this is work safe with a couple of sprays. I think it’s very versatile, year round day scent. This is NOT l’Heure Bleue – not even close to the elegance and grace of a classic Guerlain. But I also don’t view it as a “vulgar” perfume, as LT called it. It’s a casual, day perfume and would suit city life well as it is clean and strong. It was a cheap blind buy and I don’t regret it and I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of it. Side note about the bottle- the old one is ugly, but don’t judge a perfume by the bottle (or name, or advertising). Longevity is amazing.
Edit: Today I was smelled out and had a headache after a day of blind buy fails. I sprayed a little of this on after scrubbing away my mistakes and was surprised at how comforting and just plain GOOD this smelled. I may feel ambivalent about Insolence when I’m surrounded by my favorite fragrances, but all it took was spraying a couple of bad choices to make me realize that even the most safe Guerlain is of far higher quality than most of what is out there. I am really enjoying this little comforting purple cloud, and remembering that not all of my blind buys have been bad!

I sadly disliked the edt with a passion and decided to try this. Needs to be applied with a very light touch as it can be cloying. In saying this, it is much lovelier. The edt reminded me of feminine deodorant, because of the strawberry, but this one is violets all the way through and in such a light and beautiful way. wore this side by side with the L’Heure Bleue which I had on and was in violet heaven

  35. :

I bought a small bottle with the original design for a good price online. From the first I can see the relationship with Apres L’Ondee, but while that perfume quickly fades into the ether Insolence has more staying power. The dry down can seem a little synthetic though, unlike some of my other Guerlain beauties. Still this is a bright and fun modern take on violets. Something out of the ordinary.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

This is a homage to violets. It is a modern heavy spread of of a beautiful flower, much enjoyed through history by all ages and sexes. Not just grannies!
Thank you Guerlain, for this one. I prefer the style of the layered circular bottle though. The taller medicinal looking new one is boring.
I see the edt was aimed at younger women and the edp for a chic and eccentric woman. Well, I wear what I like, Guerlain. I’ve not tried the edt but wear the edp. I’m neither young nor old. I might fit in your edp category. I might not. But I’ll wear it as I like it.
It is a sweet, powdery, strong violet. Other notes are in there but luckily don’t ruin the purity of the violet. All I’d like is for the price to be a little more affordable.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

This perfume reminds me of violet blossoms-shaped candies I used to eat when I was a child. These candies had the same color as the Insolence bottle has, the flavor was horribly sweet & a little bit synthetic /so typical for cheap sweets/. When you ate up just one or two pieces, everything was perfect – but if you tried to eat up a few more, your life was in danger.
And there is the similarity with Insolence – it´s a beautiful and charming fragrance if you don´t overdo with applying. Try to apply this perfume just lightly – and Insolence will seem like a cute nymph holding a bouquet of violets. And it´s alright, that´s what you want. But beware of more intensive application – because then the bunch of flowers turns into a narcotic, intoxicating and almost deadly scent. Even if it doesn´t seem, I really like this scent. It´s a classic fragrance, intensive and well-balanced. One of those perfumes that you shouldn´t miss.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

One of the best blind buys to date. if you love violets this is a must. It’s so well blended that I don’t pick up the other notes but no matter, it’s an affordable slice of heaven. Great longevity and moderate projection.
I bought my 1 oz for under $23 on fragrence.net
Great addition to my fall/winter collection. Guerlain continues to impress me. I think this would also make great gift purchase. So easy to love!
Edit: the reviewer after me mentioned violet candies and it does remind me of that! The powdery tart kind from our childhood.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t like the opening of this perfume; too powdery, too try-hard for me but the development and dry down are, oh my god, gorgeous, soft and… coy (lol). On a chilly night, I spray some of Insolence and tuck myself into my huge and warm blanket. I have the best dream ever and waking up smelling amazingly lady-like.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

This was yet another blind buy and hopefully my last, because it is one of the best things I’ve smelled in quite some time and I won’t allow myself the time, money nor nose I spent on other perfumes I think are just ok.
This smells like a poem, a romance, love and powder. I love it so much. Well ok, it actually just smells like lovely violets and powder and lots of each and is a beautiful creation. So simple, so great.
I think a lot of cremes have this smell, because it’s very familiar to my nose. Maybe even products for babies, such as certain baby powders or cremes for wounds maybe?
This is not fresh, not sweet, just powdery violets. Heavenly. I don’t even want to smell anything else. I despise my scarve for having the scent of other perfumes on it and I have to wash all of my sweaters that I’ve sprayed on with other scents. I only want to smell this devine composition and nothing else for some time, maybe ever.

    This is so BEAUTIFULLLLLLL!!!!!!
My god…so ladylike, a refined aroma!
I never liked guerlain: to dated fragrances for me. But Insolence changed everything. When I smell it, I´m transported to another dimension.
This is pure violets enveloped by a sugary water, with a tinge of the Iris elegance. This requires a perfect make up, impecable coiffeur and nails, a silky blouse…just go!
Now I can see all the savoir faire from Guerlain. They were able to make for me the first modern and outstanding violet fume, since the 50´s/60´s with an exquisite longevity (more than 8 hours) and a very good projection.
Insolence is definetely a modern classic! a violet piece of art in the modern perfumery.
    Chapeau Guerlain…all my respect!

  42. :

Dark catchy violet. Delicate, but not strict. Pretty powdery. I like it more than edt. The best of Insolence.
It reminds My Queen by Alexander McQueen because of powdery violet.

Not your grandma’s violets. Absolutely divine.

  44. :

    This is gorgeous.
It smells very violety and I think very clean! It does have an almost detergent sharp cleanliness to it. Luckily though it has just enough powderyness to keep it from going down that road.
So it smells very fresh and pleasent.
Projects well the first 3-4 hours and has a solid longevity of 10hours plus.
This one I think not everybody will like so try it before making any comittments

  45. :

Someone at work wears Insolence EDT, and I thought it was ok, but nothing special, nor anything I would go for. I admit to recognising it as a Guerlain, but had no idea what it was when she first started wearing it.
Fast forward a few months, I toyed with the idea of testing it, and read enough reviews to determine that the EDP was the preferred option by many far more knowledgeable reviewers than I. Being the stick in the mud Guerlain fan that I am, I knew I was moving out of my comfort zone, away from the classics like Shalimar, Jicky, Chamade, AL’O, Mitsy and LHB…but I decided to order it.
It arrived today, I really love it. It’s violets all the way for me, with some vanilla. I am hooked! I might be speaking a little too soon, but first impressions for me are quite meaningful and I think this is a winner!

  46. :

Never say never: I’m wearing Insolence EDP. A few years ago, I was laughing at the twirly, twinkly, pinky, purpley line of Insolence bottles. Now, Roucel’s direct and precise homage to Apres L’Ondee and the Guerlain DNA in this composition makes me very happy since it seems the only Apres L’Ondee that I will ever have is a modern EDT so attenuated that I can barely smell it 15 minutes later. (A shout out to all the insightful reviewers who called my attention to this perfume.)
Violet flowers are made modern in Insolence EDP, a sophisticated (“vulgar”? no way!) violet perfume that I can to add to my other violet favorites, including (all vintage) Coty Paris, Le Dix, Jolie Madame, YSL Paris. I’ll take violets with creamy, powdery aldehydes (Le Dix) and I’ll take them with rich roses (Coty and YSL Paris) but I particularly like violets when they are matched with more sensual, muskier notes, as in Cellier’s brilliant combination of violets and castoreum and isobutyl quinoline in Jolie Madame.Meanwhile, my 50 year old bottle of Violetta di Borsari extrait contains a surprisingly strong and hirsute dose of civet with the dark violets: it’s clear violets were never just for grannies, back in the day.) Insolence EDP is the latest take on this game of contrast, presenting slightly syrupy violets on an ambered, darkly musky base. The perfume in my 2016 bottle last all day, with a moderate sillage. Now issued in the (boring) bee bottle, but I think Mansau’s purple gyroscope is the only way to go.

On my skin – just Violet. Bright and shiny Violet. I can’t smell any other notes – but it is a very nice Violet-scent indeed. Worth buying if you’re into Violet.

This is THE party girl of the night. Best dressed, makeup on point, shoes and bag by latest fashion. And when she walks out of the dance floor, to lit up a cigarette, all men gather around her with lighters, without her asking like the scene from the film Malena with Monica Bellucci. It’s seductive. Sultry and sometimes sulky. This is how rich girls went partying smells like to me. It has smoky, may I say tacky feel to it. But it’s so glamorous that you won’t mind.
I also love this almost art deco bottle.
    Love this!

This is a stunner and belongs to my top five most loved fragrances. I am not even a fan of flowery fragrances (well, at least so I thought for the longest time, but more and more I get into frags, more and more I learn that I am actually very fond of violets and jasmine. So I have to rethink my whole “I am not a flowery woman” view). Anyway – this is awesome. I think the berry aspect is what makes this floral frag so great. This lady is perfection through and through.

What can I say? Hmm… It isn’t love, but I hope that we will like each other over time.
After the first spraying, the fragrance is strong, sharp, and quite floral. Then, I don’t like it- it’s almost unbearable. After 10 minutes, the violet begins to clearly dominate and so to the end. In the meantime, the scent takes on a bit of sweetness thanks to iris, wooden notes and tonka bean. In addition, red berries and orange blossom give it some juicy and sour notes. Then, the fragrance is intriguing and rich, but still so violet.
Durability and projection on my skin, as usual, isn’t very good. The smell is close to skin about 4- 5 hours.
I can’t name it, but there’s something that discourages me from this smell, but at the same time tempting.
I will give us some time …

Having been an avid palma violet sweet eater as a child – walking home from school buying 10 packets at 5 p each and excitedly smelling and rubbing on my skin for that palma violet note / i have now found my little nostalgic guilty pleasure . I do find this a very niche perfume .. nobody i knew back then liked the taste or smell of palma violets .. and to this day i do not think they are that popular .
I believe this perfume has many many elements , but this is what sticks out to me:
First spray -is a strong powdery fruity zesty bouquet , oranges , rasberry , just a very berry mix up …. i must admit it can be a little chaotic at first – kind of like a mad friday dash
But give it time – iris and rose come through – with a touch of tonka bean
Then my all time fave sweety palma violet

This is not a review yet! But after reading all these comments I’m taking the plunge and blind buying this, and I’m 98 percent sure I’ll love it. Will update when I receive in the mail in a few days.
Today is Friday January 19, two days later. It’s exactly what I hoped for! The perfect bold violet! Gorgeous and worth every cent. Did you blind buy Menka? This is my most successful blind buy to date.

I pulled out a teeny tiny old sample I have of the EDP last night. I’d forgotten I even had it and couldn’t recall ever trying it.
Wow! How on earth did this absolute gem pass me by? Powdery parma violets and a dry warmth that is pure, classic Guerlain.
Captivating and definitely full bottle worthy.

Best blind buy I ever made! I love violets and powdery perfumes, so this is a match made in heaven for me. I also get a “clean laundry” smell in there too, ever so slightly. It’s lovely.

Nope, I am never gonna like Insolence. I can tell it’s a well-made perfume, for sure, but detactable violet apparently will almost always mean a headache for me, not to mention that I just plain don’t like the scent of violet in perfumes. I know other people must perceive it differently because it really is my nemesis note, and if it smelled to everyone like it smells to me, it wouldn’t get used in any prominent fashion. And Insolence EDP is violet on steroids. I gave it a shot in a swap because I’ve been curious about it, hoping that I would get mostly the grape Skittles smell I see people mentioning, and also because I’m currently on a Guerlain binge, but this is 98% straight violet on me, with a bit of a peppery facet which somehow serves to intensify my irritation. I find it a bit powdery but not dry; in fact, it seems somewhat syrupy to my nose. The bottle I got must be pre-reformulation because it is super strong. Fans of violet really must try this.

This is absolutely stunning, I have nothing like it. Was a blind buy for me and I do not regret it. At first felt very sharp and cold, but after a while on my skin became very beautiful and very elegant. Also it is very long lasting. Guerlain did not disappoint again. Looking forward to wear this.

Super sweet and juicy, kind of grape-y like Poison. Insolence is extremely strong and bold, purple is a good color for this fragrance. It’s a fun perfume that’s somewhat linear, there is some faint powderiness from the tonka bean but for the most part it is just a blast of sugar that lasts forever.
I prefer My Insolence because it is basically Insolence with almond blossom and vanilla added on, which gives the perfume some depth.. but Insolence is great when I want something simple, sweet, and loud that still doesn’t smell like what anyone else is wearing.

Smells exactly like parma Violet sweets to me. Really like this on a cold day.

A timeless, high performing powdery masterpiece. I find it an impressive, outright lady perfume. It’s heavy on dry powder, and possesses a nice sour note. Absolutely classy, attractive, and addictive. Shouldn’t be reformulated or discontinued.

I can’t believe that i’ve never tried it on! I now feel like a fool for not allowing myself de experience this beauty earlier! So, I never liked the original bottle, to me it looked like a teenagers perfume so I never cared enough to try it until the other day, I was at Guerlain and I’ve seen that they had new bottles (which I absolutely LOVE) so I decided to try Insolence EdP without realizing it was insolence.
Result: It’s been a couple of days and my coat still has this scent on. I absolutely love it. It doesn’t smell like a teens perfume. It’s just pretty and fun and sugary and now that I see the ingredients I get why I like it so much, violet, iris and orange flower are just delicious.

This scent is just not for me. I blind bought it which was a bad idea. I purchased it because I love violets but this is just too much. I have this up for swap. It’s a shame I have a 3,4 bottle that I sprayed about 3 Times id love to find it a good home. Anyone interested in swap please message me.

Oh, sweet, glorious, majestic fragrance perfection!!! Insolence eau de parfum is a delightful olfactory work of art in every regard. She is at once recognizable, majestic, juicy sweet (to me, dark) red berries and sugary violets bathed in powdery, delicate iris floating atop a sweet, warm bed of tonka bean and delicious sandalwood. What a gorgeous, delightful fragrance she is!
The berries in this formulation give the precise and exact same note and vibe as the red-berries note in Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Rosa Pop (though Insolence EDP is sweeter by far).
Unlike the ethereal, icy version – Insolence Eau Glacee – Insolence EDP is the Grande Dame, the Queen Royale. She is the indigo velvet c
