Description

“We brush by it, we risk it, without ever thinking about the consequences… Incident Diplomatique clearly possesses its share of superb provocation – bold, owned, and entirely inevitable when desire exudes from our every pore. As unexpected as it is audacious, the fragrance
refuses convention and knowingly parades itself. Just as we might give into a staggering impulse too strong to resist, it declares its urges, teasing tension to the breaking point, until one brush turns into a tidal wave of sensuality.” – a note from the brand.

Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy Paris is a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Incident Diplomatique was launched in 2017. Top note is mandarin orange; middle notes are haitian vetiver, java vetiver oil and nutmeg; base notes are patchouli and sandalwood.

It’s a nice, classic, vintage type of scent. It’s been done a million times and this is one of the better iterations. It works quite well. It’s a lovely vetiver blend, manly, sober and elegant. Good performance.

10/10 This has the best vetiver blend ever. Elegant, luxurious. Simply its like vetiver done for kings.

Absolutely classy and distintive, it’s also not very inique: it smells like many other vintage masculine fragrances, though it manages to have a small space of its own because there are not many Woody/spicy fragrances madre nowadays (at least without Incident Diplomatique’s retro/refined taste).
I would recommend this one to those who like Houbigant Fougére Royale, YSL Rive Gauche pour homme or the overpriced Mousse de Chêne by Lelabo.

This is a dark spicy scent . . . smokey patchouli steeped in a dry Haitian vetiver. Has a medicinal incense-y overtone. Both notes have been selected for a raw camphorous quality. The attraction is that they have a pure clarion feeling that comes across as wildcrafted by a connoisseur. So pungent in the opening that it’s like having squeezed the plants with raw sap sticking to your hands. The downside is that this stage doesn’t last long. The strong opening dries down to ever diminishing power. Relatively linear, but a wonderful patchouli. I didn’t get any of the mandarin orange/nutmeg, other than a faint sweet bitterness under the earthy combo. Longevity good, I could still smell it on my skin the next morning.

This is my first review on Fragrantica. Excuse me my broken english and non professionalism.
Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy Paris is extraordinary, outstanding, radically ‘masculine’ scent without any sweeteness. Opposite to ‘crowd-pleasers’, ‘panty-droppers’ etc.. I like that concept very much. Sharp, medecinal at opening, softer, smoother at drydown. For my nose this fragrance is in the same niche like Yatagan by Caron, but maybe less complex, more linear, without pine and herbal notes. But maybe deeper at the same time. I love both. Longevity 36+ hours on my skin. Silage moderate.

    For him
    بوی همه پسندی داره
مردم پس از استشمام این عطر در ارتباط با شما به واسطه استفاده از عطر مثلا نارسیس رودریگز مردونه یا
    For him

Update: I hadn’t wore this for a week, now I picked up new note! There is a deep, rich leather note; A better, richer leather than TF Tuscan Leather or vintage Bel Ami. Birch tar is used to mimick leather, they don’t distill leather.
Some have mentioned creasote note, but it’s actually a leathery birch tar I believe, unlisted. Does anyone else pick out a leather note here?
Did some research: Leather is treated with birch tar, so when we smell leather, it actually may be the birch tar we smell. Creasote is not far off in describing Incident Diplomatique, as birch tar may be a type of creasote.
This is all about the smoky, rooty JAVA vetiver.
This is my #1 vetiver, raw, rooty, and realistic, and very earthy. The medecinal patchouli adds to the earthiness.
This is also complex in how it evolves, it changes in the mid and the drydown in beautiful ways. It smooths out in rich woody tones.
There is a boozy liquor vib, mostly in the opening, that’s hard to describe. It’s not so sweet at all, just a bit, and doesn’t take away from the smoky green vetiver and patchouli. It’s so simple, yet an incredible beautiful and pungent aroma. The touch of mandarin orange, hints of a fruity liquor tone. The word volitile comes to mind when trying to describe this boozy freshness. It’s perfectly blended and balanced, it’s bright in a way, yet dry and austere, conservative, yet stunning !
Now that I have my bottle, I’m getting to know this fragrance and how good it is. It’s a very true Vetiver fragrance. Something like Encre Noir vetiver, but 10X greater quality and depth. Here the Vetiver is accentuated, yet allowed to shine brightly.
Many of the great vetivers like Sycomore, or Vetiver Extraordinare, smooth out the raw beauty of vetiver, and add to much other stuff, that take away from what purest vetiver lovers crave.
I love how raw and pure this vetiver is. My favorite house Dyptique makes fragrances like this, not too perfumy, but pure essences, very artistically done. The medecinal patchouli makes a great fresh , earthy accord with the two varieties of vetiver, Java and Hatian. (the Patchouli is more medecinal, than the hippy kind) The other complimenting notes of orange and nutmeg are just nice nuances, that skillfully add to the overall beauty and enjoyment of the frag.
The nutmeg is unique, very aromatic, a bit peppery. It makes a wonderfull accord with the Java vetiver oil, which gives it that unique, earthy distinction. The Haitian vetiver gives it a nice greenness, and a bit of freshness, along with the orange nuance, (very slight).
This also reminds me of CdG Wonderwood, but more green and refined.
This is quite masculine, solid performance.
This is a very classy conservative fragrance, fitting of a Diplomat. That’s what I think of when I consider the name, Incident Diplomatique.
This is my favorite vetiver now, better that Sycomre and more smoky, similar, but sharper and more complex. At times you pick up on the different fragrance accords, earthy patch and vetiver, or nutmeg and Java vetiver.
One fragrance blogger on Kafkaesque, really slams this fragrance as harsh, linear, skreechy. He says it has too much pepper, but there isn’t any pepper in it ? He recommends Sycomore as a better alternative for a smoky vetiver. Sycomore is smoother, and unisex, but also is very linear. I had a bottle of Sycomore, and sold it, because it got borring. This is more interesting and enjoyable because of the Java vetiver and patch combo. It’s nuanced with the Haitian vetiver, which is greener and fresher than the Java vetiver.
This is very raw smelling, and very masculine. But this has refinement and is well blended. It’s a fragrance that smells natural and realistic like many Dyptique and Comme des Garcons fragrances.
    Incident Diplomatique is spectacular !
If you like smoky vetiver and earthy fragrances, this is great; it’s dark yet fresh, deep and intense, classy and distinct. It’s not “French Lover”, but it’s not trying to be.
This is sure to be in my top 5 frags, and close to my #1 “French Lover” by Frederic Malle.

A smokey Vetiver patchouli combo. I always wanted a fragrance that smells like Diptyque’s Feu du Bois candle and here it is. Amazing stuff!

Amazing scene. OMG , how beautiful.
I can imagine that all the elegance of 80s had been crafted
    in this Masterpiece.
Super classy and pure masculine sexuality
I don’t know how describe it but I assure you , definitely you
    will get tons of complaints.

Vetiver, patchouli, and nutmeg are prominent. The different types of vetiver in this are the co-stars of the show. but it took me some time to get accustomed to the vetiver patchouli combination, which with the other notes, darken the composition considerably. Incident Diplomatique fairly jumps off the skin and makes its presence known. Alpha male territory. Performance seems to be average at 4 to 6 hours based on wearing it yesterday. By comparison, Roja Vetiver is a bright lemony pure vetiver fragrance, but Incident Diplomatique adds an unexpected one-two punch of nutmeg and patchouli with sandalwood in the background to make it quite different. One could wear Incident Diplomatique to an office meeting and scent the room like a boss.

Delicious mixture of vetiver and patchouli. The extraordinary is that this perfume can be worn in all seasons because it is well-balanced. To try

Sharp smokey vetiver. A little too sharp for my taste..reminds me of Duro Nasomatto

Not exactly what I was expecting. Sadly, Incident Diplomatique is nothing extraordinary, usual patchouli & vetiver combo with a dash of orange & spices. It dries to a bit bitter patchouli and sandalwood. Unfortunately there is not much magic going on here
Really Jovoy, you can do better than this

This is exactly what Ive been looking for. Just a very masculine fragrance with that 80’s powerhouse DNA but still modern enough to be relevant today. Not even remotely sure how a woman could pull this off. To my nose, this juice is literally infused with testosterone. lol
