chanel4747, a tiny bit yes. They both have some sort of coolness to them. However, Hermes is aquatic and Armand Basi is more citrus-spicy and gives floral sweetness on my skin.
reaper – :
Is it similar to hermes eau des merveille bleue or am i just imagining?
ddd007 – :
SzekelyEmoke,I’m very surprised you find Pret-a-Porter and In Red so similar…I’m saying that, because I was wearing these two perfumes in the summer. And I bought exactly the same concentration of In Red-deodorant spray…not edp,not edt!!!
To me,Pret-a-Porter is fresh, but very dusty and powdery, fizzy light grapefruit.Very 90’s!On the other hand,In Red to me is energizing bomb(no dust,no powder)…it’s like the purest mountain water-crystal clear, cold, refreshing…but in the same time, all this is warmed up by the spiciness of the sparkling ginger.
Same perfumes, but we have completely different interpretations 🙂
JensyBoy – :
On paper, this should have been a great love for me. Clean, ginger and spice. But while I like this and appreciate it, it is a bit on the “green”side of fresh for me. Almost woodsy and I am not sure what happened because so many of the reviews here indicated a warm, classy, spicy fresh ginger scent. I don’t see much about a woodsy feel to it, though the note pyramid does note this. But I get no citrus zing. At all. It is soft and quietly spicy but with a background of woods as the day goes on. I do note, however that many recommend this as a spring or summer fragrance, so perhaps that is where I went wrong. I don’t dislike it, but am really more ambivalent about it, as I am not even certain it is a “like”. So I will keep trying it (I have a FB) and maybe it will start to speak to me and in the summer I can pick up the fresher, energizing citrus notes. Does not seem to last very long, maybe 4 hours on my skin.
vluylka – :
Oh my…soo familiar! I smelled this before…
Yes, it was Pret-a-Porter by Coty! Exactly the same smell!
Is kind of old fashioned woody-citrusy smell, a bit dusty too. I bought the deodorant spray, it goes away withing 5 seconds.
EDIT: I finally got to use it up as a room spray. It was such a release to throw the empty bottle away. ☺
irvitus – :
Not that this perfume is bad for itself, I just hate citrusy types. Fruity yes, but not citrusy. Anything that contains lemon, lime or anything like this, makes my head ache. And by the way, reminds me of Light Blue by D&G.
osipsar – :
I was expecting a fresh and refreshing floral perfume for summer, but this clearly isn’t the one. It’s extremely spicy because of the strong scent of ginger, this could be sexy and passionate to some people, but I find it somehow a bit annoying. Maybe it’s just because I’m not that into ginger. When all the floral notes finally turn to appear it does get nice, warm and truly elegant. But this doesn’t last long on me. Gave it to my mom afterwards, and she seems to appreciate it more than I do.
Spuctnourenut – :
Perfection in a bottle, one of the best perfumes I have ever had
bocmanmat – :
I want to love this more than I do. It’s fine but it is like spraying yourself with ginger ale. I am not getting as much floral as everyone else, I wish I did. This is great for a really hot day as it is refreshing. I own much better Alberto Morillas fragrances.
xXxKing – :
I got this perfume by chance and first two or three weeks ilked it very much. It was so sensual and warm to me. But later I changed my opinion. When I spray it, it smells very spicy and hot cause of ginger and cardamom. This blend would smell great on a cold season, I think, but sometimes it reminds me something medicinal. Later it starts to smell like lily with some spices. Base notes remind me men perfume. Well, this smell is a little bit to heavy, strong and manly for me, so I’m not a huge fan of it.
oleg196599 – :
Very sensual perfume. I wore this one when I first met my boyfriend. Maybe this attracted him mostly: )) I will ask him to make a review himself. Elegant, sensual, perfect for a romantic evening…
barrakuda – :
I got this when i was a student, and that was like more then 4 years ago. I have to say that In Red is my fist love, that first love that you never forget… It is been almost 5 years now i still have it almost full, and the juice didn’t change at all, and it lasts for so long on my skin i only need couple sprays. I wonder if it changed since then, cuz it seems that here in USA it’s on the cheap side, i got my bottle form Europe and i have to say it was expensive. No matter how cheap is it i will always treat this bottle as a pearl in my collection, because it’s unique and beautiful, it is very soft, tasty smell and at the same time long long lasting, and on clothes stays for days. Love!!!
Immuddefoddes – :
Quite nice opening, with crispy juicy lemon. Unfortunately on me it soon changes to just ginger, musk and cedar, and turns to quite masculine scent. Longevity is moderate, but sillage very soft. More a unisex fragrance.

karnaj – :
Ilove this fragrance, the only problem I had with this perfume is that it doesn´t last more than half an hour on my skin…
alyakushev – :
a crisp, spicy aroma that lingers so elegantly. please don’t ever change!
andre200 – :
Most of all I feel the mandarin note and cardamom notes in it. Very mandarinish:))) The cardamom note smells quite charming and not too spicy.
It really smells like a tree branch in spring in general! Awesome feeling!!!
This fragrance is more suitable as an every day fragrance, imho. And it’s long lasting enough.
I like this fragrance! It’s unique enough.
p.s. Despite In Bloom by Avon has another notes pyramid, it really reminds me this fragrance a lot. And it’s not cool at all. Except the fact, that it doesn’t smell as nice as In Red (edp) and smells too strong. Also because of mandarin it reminds me Love In Paris.
upi769speagoessenda – :
I think I am finally in love with this. This has to be the coldest perfume I have ever worn, I honestly feel like there is an icy bead of water sitting on the back of my neck when I wear it. The smell is SO fresh without being green at all, and the tiny hint of orange (something I am normally not a fan of) works so well here. The longevity is great (I’ve just come home from a full work day and can still smell it from applying this morning) and the price is fantastic! This is going to become my go-to for work, I really love it, and the fact that it is not very common is a bonus!
I’m beginning to realise that I can usually trust Alberto Morillas’s nose – seriously, check out this guy’s list of creations, he is a marvel!
A gorgeous, fresh, cold scent, at a fantastic price (about $30AU for 100mL EDP on eBay), that isn’t worn by every second person, what more could you want??
bobrinnna – :
I love this perfume! It has a sexy blend of spice and citrus. Pretty strong lasting power. Try it if you love something different and exciting.
trankli – :
Beautiful fragrance, sexy and spicy. This was my signature fragrance for a few years, I got tired of it. The edt is a little heavy, I cannot imagine how heavy the edp is! Regardless, it’s very long lasting. Of all perfumes I’ve ever worn, this one got me the most compliments from gals and guys alike. On me it smelled kind of oriental… an exotic and rare smell.
sheldmmi – :
I love this one. But i can not find it in Belgium anymore. 🙁
seregka – :
Nice for summer,light,fresh,and smells clean.
CatyZem – :
I got a sample of it and in the beginning it feels like red indeed, spicy and passionate, then it becomes more white. It’s a fresh scent, rather cold, I think it suits a woman around 38-50 maybe… In Red definitely brings a mature woman to my mind. Spices, rose and white flowers with musk and a bit of wood, that’s what I notice the most.
Not my cup of tea but I can imagine women liking it.
The bottle – no, thank you.
znh630JeomiWogkig – :
Smells like independent women. On the other hand it’s fresh and citrussy so I like it.
priest111 – :
Citrusy but not as lemonade, more spring not summer, refreshing and not soapy, very sophisticated, decent to wear (even in the hospital). It has similar notes with D&G Blue but more musky in its base notes, ginger and zesty top notes make it very different. It makes me wake up in the morning and be ready for a new successful day.
sorokovoy32 – :
What a great warm weather, fresh, lightly spiced scent. I have the EDP in the red bottle.
Bright and piquant with ginger and bergamot. Mandarine and spice give the top some softness and texture to the aromatic accord.
The florals are beautifully blended and have equal presence with violet leaf providing an distant dark, green earthy backdrop.
Soft woods are revealed in the dry down with a hint of ginger and fuzzy greenness, leaving a refreshing, yet grounded trail.
In Red radiates softly with fresh sophistication and congeniality.
nevel100 – :
What a rare find! Such a beautiful fragrance. To describe I would say its fresh and clean. It is in no way overwhelming or overwhelming.
It smells so clean and lovely. Perfect for the day, office or anywhere. This perfume could never offend anyone.
I agree with who said it draws attention but not in a look at me way. Its subtle and perfect.
777.san4es.777 – :
Discovered this fragrance quite recently thanks to a very knowledgeable sales associate in a fragrance store. It has a hint of spice in the opening, then warms to a bittersweet citrus and dries down to a delicate spicy gentle floral combo that is not cloying or soapy, but rather mossy and warm. Lovely scent indeed – I liked it so much I bought a bottle!
valera065 – :
In Red is :
Fresh – Floral – Spicy..
Light but not too clean/ fresh in my opinion..
It’s too spicy & sometimes a little bit too sweet for a i-don’t-know-what-i-must-wear-today-fragrance..
I don’t like zillion of peppery notes in my perfume.. >_<
I’d go for Maxmara Le Parfum for clean-fresh-feminine-but still edgy fragrance / office friendly perfume, which has the right amount of peppery notes to me..
Or Armani Code Sheer for light-sexy-summer perfume..
Eclat d’Arpege is very light-refreshing (citrusy)-but still have elegance-ness though..
And for unmistakable-light-fresh-feminine-touch, i’d go for Carolina’s 212 (Original) Woman.. 😉
aleks33301 – :
I am getting a lemony zing! And a hint of lily. I wouldn’t call this a floral though, it is much brighter, citrusy & a little aquatic as well. It is little wonder that people who ordinarily wouldn’t love florals love this one!
To my nose this reads like Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea. Not the same but related (both have citrus, musk, oakmoss, amber & jasmine). In Red seems to be the prettier, demure sister though.
I imagine this would be a refreshing perfume for summer but here comes the ‘but’ – citrus smells makes me anxious which is why I gave up Green Tea to begin with.
It is however one of the best citrus blends I have come across though so if that is your thing, I thoroughly recommend In Red.
Zer0ver – :
Fresh & flirty perfume. The ginger zing stands out which I love. Bergamot is fresh. Violet is definitely there along with a hint of rose. I don’t smell the cinnamon yet. I can’t stop smelling my wrist. Really liking this. I picture riding in a convertible with the sun shining brightly, green grass swaying and passing rose bushes along side the road their gentle scent wafting thru the breeze. A perfectly refreshing summer scent.
zigmund – :
Light, a bit woody, floral, excellent for spring and warm autumn time, sunny, for casual wear (as for me), make me feel easy and flying. I would really love to buy another bottle of it. However, not a large one, as it can tire sometimes.
4ornyj – :
I got a little perfume of this today.
I am very glad, i am so in love with this perfume. I bought edp.
Now i will buy me a bigger bottle, so lovely fresh and sweet/sour!!!
The lilys, bergamot and jasmine are the strongest notes in this scent. Heavenly.
Stig_BLR – :
Gorgeous, mesmerizing floral! In Red is graceful and elegant, yet it has an attitude and an edge. It is sparkling and energetic, but not too young or girly. Love it from the first bergamot splash, through the ginger and flowers to the slightly mossy still spicy dry down!
And it is not overly advertised, so you almost definitely will be one of the few wearing it.
Sozidatel – :
I adore this scent! It’s complex, very sexy and elegant, light frag but yet passionate & sensual. It’s the best! I think it would fit any age & any time of year…
nzg871speagoessenda – :
In Red starts all citrusy and sparkling-ly spicy. Bergamot is the most distinct among the top notes. The spices heat it up a bit in the very beginning.
Then becomes lightly floral, the most detectable note for me is lily. Maybe also a bit of violet leaf. And freesia, which isn’t listed. Can’t really smell jasmine or rose.
The base is light with woods, not very musky.
For me it’s more a very light citrus-floral …
Naturally fresh and charming, with a wink. Classy and intelligent, making an impression – I mean, they may forget the smell, but they won’t forget the feeling it gave them … Sunny and springy.
But, somehow, not entirely my thing.
Poefredeecype – :
Very pretty-this is what I think of when I imagine a floral fragrance well-suited to a woman called Anonymous. While this doesn’t suit my personality terribly much, it manages not to smell too rosy, too lily-like or too green, maintaining a softness, a sophisticated spring elegance that I haven’t smelled much elsewhere– although I am not sure I can say I have never smelled a perfume that resembles this.I have not smelled anything quite like this out in crowds of women anywhere, so I recommend it.
I have more than one personality surely, so this fits one of them! The dry down is so beautiful too, that I have fallen in love yet again, with yet another square peg!
Igorab – :
I tried a sample a few months before and i cannot forget it… because it’s soft, lasting, with class, you can wear it at any moment…
I think i will give it to me on Christmas.
It’s perfect!
Vovanovith – :
i just got my red bottle. it’s so perfect for summer, for ppl who love to be noticed yet not screaming am here.
medoff – :
it`s one of the best floral fragances i have, unique.
serega-bobruisk – :
The best for Summer and if you are lucky it will sound gorgeous on you! I collected a lot of compliments wearing it last summer. My true love;)
DONI_91 – :
Light, flowery and flighty.Reminded me a bit of Eclat Arpege, but more flowers vs more citrus in Arpege. Very pleasant.
user56 – :
Light, touching, extremely passionate. I don’t like floral fragrances, but this one is an exception.
Biakinwaf – :
Thank you, Alberto Morillas!!!
