Description

A sensual and mysterious scent of the night, BLV Notte Pour Femme is dark and impressive, sweet like the night as its main ingredients are sumptuous dark chocolate and intoxicating vodka.

BLV Notte opens with notes of fresh galanga, mandarin and bergamot; the heart unifies vodka, acacia, powdery iris and tobacco blossom; the base reveals dark chocolate, ginger and amber.

A scent of an unforgettable night with a taste of chocolate lingering on the skin. Creator of this fragrance is Alberto Morillas. It was created in 2004.

Chocolate & vodka heaven. I so love this perfume and I’m so upset they discontinued it. I want another bottle, it’s wonderful! Help!

I so loved this perfume when I bought it ages ago. And the notes of cocoa and vodka were so original and exquisite… but this scent was too strong for me, I could not wear it on my skin as it gave me a headache. I gave it away to a friend (she was black skinned, I am a light skinned blonde) and I was really a bit envious that it smelled so gorgeous on her whereas I could not wear it myself.

I found a sample of this. Notes sounded very interesting so I gave i a try.
The opening was quite brutal as I could get very prominet vodka followed by tobacco and only a slight reminder of chocolate. I like all of these things in reality, but it didn’t seem right to wear it combined.
But when the scent started to settle, the musk and balsamic feel would come to notice and also the chocolate became more prominet whilst vodka would step aside.
To me definitely unisex scent with some masculinity to it. Feels original, warm, deep, cozy, cuddly and mysterious in kinda provocative sexy way. Absolutely different, so you can tell if anyone wears this one, hard to be mistaken for anything else. I wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy as I think you need to dare to wear something that stands out of a crowd like this.
I noticed there’s something that gaves me a bit of physical irritation in my nose when sniffed straight away, it gets better after the drydown, but still noticeable. Don’t know what it is. But definitely not pefumes fault.
It’s so bad this was discontinued but honestly also quite good – because if it wouldn’t have been – I would be more than tempted getting used to a slight weird feeling inside my nose in exchange of trying maybe a tiny bottle.
    To me 7/10.

I had this a few years and I really liked it. It was very’chocolatety.’
The lasting power was atrocious though and I finished the bottle really quickly.
For those looking for a dupe, in my opinion Britney Spears Fantasy the naughty remix smells just like it.
Which is the reason I’m reviewing it, as BS has just arrived and it immediately reminded me of BLV Notte.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I found a bottle hanging out in a medicine cabinet and gave it a try, but I’m guessing it’s about a decade old now. To me this smells of alcohol and chocolate. I love a subtle chocolate note in fragrances if they are done right, and I think this one is pretty nice, but my goodness, it’s overwhelmed by ethanol. I may be in the minority here, but I don’t see any reason a fragrance should smell like straight vodka when they’re already mixed with alcohol in EDTs. It gives me the image of a sweaty nightclub, booze and desserts abound, but not in a good way. Somewhat cheap smelling to me… if anyone wants a bottle of this, I’m willing to swap.
EDIT: Upon further sampling of other scents I find myself disliking ginger as a note. It makes a juice piquant to the nose, which is nice for some, but not for me. Hot, peppery, and irritating.

When I say “seductive,” I don’t necessarily mean that this perfume is good to use to seduce someone (though it might be that, too).
The perfume itself is intoxicating and seductive, and it seduces the wearer.
It smells like the dark night, and of sleep, and of quiet, and possibly of sin (the vodka note is spot on).
I love galangal and I wish that note were more prominent. I also don’t smell much incense or chocolate, but lots of vodka in the opening, musk later, and lovely dry iris throughout.
But this is a highly unusual (in a good way), daring scent. It is one of my favorite scents from one of my favorite houses.

I need a dupe for this, like yesterday, people. If any of you can think of a similar scent, PLEASE post it. This is so clean but not frooty, and is perfectly fine in swampy heat. I have a small amount left I am loathe to use.

I had this perfume when it was first released. I was 24 at the time and honestly, didn’t really appreciate it. I gave it to my mom who had a fit over it.
Fast forward to present day and I’ve revisited this one. It’s been long discontinued, but it can be found online. I can honestly say that after thirteen years, I can now finally appreciate this perfume. It’s uncommon, dark, slightly powdery and just sexy. The vodka is strong in the opening, but it settles quickly. I get some ginger woven throughout to add some spiciness and zing. The chocolate and iris really stand out on my skin, which gives it a powdery sweetness, without being sugary. As it dries, I do smell some hints of amber, sandalwood and perhaps a little incense, but the chocolate, ginger and iris seem to be the main players on me.
A very unique scent, and by the reviews, it seems to be dependent on body chemistry. Sillage and longevity are moderate on my skin. I’m glad I repurchased this after so many years. I have a newfound appreciation for it.

i believe this is discontinued but you can always find one . it’s just a google away.
this is an intoxicating, opulent oriental which has outstanding longevity and silage on me and my friend. my first encounter with blv notte was with my friend as she walked through my front door engulfed in a spicy cloud of sensuality. i had to have it. it’s not my usual kind of fragrance. i am a sweet floral lady, the sweeter the better, but i fell for blv notte.
all these reviews here that state it’s a weak perfume must have the wrong blv because this is a luxurious strong heavy scent. not really for summer or daytime.
it’s not for everyone so i recommend trying before buy.

It may be impossible to replace my beloved Blv Notte when it runs out!
Please message me if you know of a dupe.
For other Blv Notte lovers, a spray on cloth will last hours longer than a spray on the skin, and it will have it’s own delicious scent profile.
I’m sure I am quite a sight on my train ride home in the evening. The spray on the skin long gone, but a hanky to my nose the entire trip home. The other passengers must think I have been nursing a weeks-long cold, but I’m actually drinking in the gorgeous aroma from my delicious Notte-infused hanky!

    What a lovely autumn scent.
I’ve ignored it’s name ‘notte’ and have felt just right wearing this well-blended, unique perfume for day-to-day.
The only floral note, Iris, converses demurely with the other notes in the first hours, then continues to waltz as the other notes fade and depart. At the end, Iris remains.

This is my favorite perfume of all time. It isn’t fruity or overly floral or too sweet. It smells clean, powdery, and isn’t too cloying for summer in the south. It doesn’t turn sickeningly sweet on my skin nor sour. It is truly perfect in every way. And now it’s gone.

  15. :

Gorgeous, warm and mysterious. Strangely calming. Intriguing. There are more notes in Blv Notte than in an orchestra playing a Mahler symphony. There’s so much going on and yet there are so many things you could pick out. This is a beautiful, intoxicating fragrance which is sadly missed. Your reaction to Blv Notte will depend entirely upon your body’s reaction to Blv Notte. If your body chemistry likes this, you’ll love it. If it doesn’t, you’ll be left wondering what everyone else is raving about. It’s certainly rare and distinct.
The silage and the projection are both pretty good. The initial blast gives you the vodka note but that soon fades. There are also some delicate citrus notes which withdraw quickly into the background too as does a peppery note. The iris and incense and amber tend to be the more dominant notes in my experience. The ginger note which is less prominent links Blv Notte to the original Blv rather nicely. There is a certain something about the powderiness in the drydown which is reminiscent of Shalimar, I think.
I think the divide as to whether this is masculine or feminine is purely a reaction to the notes that people’s bodies respond to in this perfume. I think it’s very feminine. I also really like the colour of the glass of the bottle and its silver lid. Blv Notte is definitely an evening scent and a rather seductive one at that.

  16. :

It’s probably the sexiest and most complex creation of my boudoir. I cannot begin to describe how intoxicating it feels on my skin and how many compliments it draws. Sadly, the silage and longevity are a disappointment. I try not to wear it too much, since it’s discontinued and I don’t think I’ll ever find another bottle in retail 🙁

  17. :

I’d say this is dark and powdery, mysterious even. I don’t smell any tobacco. I also get a sort of generic spicy note (I guess that’s the ginger?) – I think it’s the spice that some may interpret as slightly masculine or unisex. I personally I’d call the fragrance overall feminine. Not long lasting though, I’d say it lasts 2-4 hours before it’s all gone. I have the small .8 oz size and wouldn’t repurchase because it is so short lived (and difficult to find anyway).

  18. :

An interesting one indeed, a distinctive perfume that knows how to make an entrance. It’s deep but as odd as it may be I would say there is a certain degree of freshness to it. The vodka note is a fun touch.
    A night time scent definitely.

The dry down of this is extremely lovely and warm. It’s a little harsh at first, a little perfumey and overpowering. But wait 10-20 min and it settles in nicely. It becomes a soft and warm scent that wafts around in a light powdery cloud full of a fluffy chocolate, vodka and incense. It’s a very light wearing perfume, a little transparent or watery, like an ‘eau’. It’s a very cozy scent too – feminine, cuddly, very sexy and very mysterious. Wearable in any season, but it’s extra cozy this fall. I like this one a lot, even though I usually prefer a more powerful fragrance.
On me it projects at arms length. My husband could even smell it a few feet away after 8 hours.

This is one of the most ingenious iris blends created. I call this a female version of Dior Homme. It’s got the same vibe and is just perfect.
The brilliant addition of vodka and ginger note distinguish Notte from other mass-market sweet powdery perfumes. At the first sniff you’d thought this almost smells like a bar of soap. But just wait for a minute. Then things start to appear: one note after another, Notte begins to smell like sticky sweet liquor with a big zing from the ginger/galanga note sitting on a refined musk base. The freshness never dies, and the sweetness in this perfume is SO different from what we’re smelling on the shelves today! I’m having a hard time to describe it, but I say it’s not a dessert/citrus type of sweetness (which I often can’t stand), but more of a balmy/incensy sweetness that melds with the bitter notes of chocolate perfectly (yes, the exact same note that makes VC&A Orchidee Vanille so attractive; it’s the same smell here). It is very strong, 3 sprays last me a good 8 hours, and I run around to catch classes a lot. This is a great day/evening/casual outing scent and has a very versatile smell. However my most secret indulgent is to wear Notte to bed, just so I can wake up in the most amazing sweet powdery balmy aroma of the dry down.
This is such an underrated perfume you know? I’ve tested so many niche iris perfumes and IMO if Notte is repackaged as a niche scent and its price amped to $200 people would consider this “a timeless masterpiece”. This surpasses many high-end irises that I tried which are an ambiguous pretence of sophistication and class. Notte is smooth, strong, and alive. It doesn’t hide what it shows off. Yes it’s not elusive, it’s not “complicated” with some imaginary notes and marketing stories, but naturally alluring and very, very comforting.
I love it. I wish Bvlgari still produces it secretly so I can always get a bottle as long as I’m alive.

Beautiful and mysterious. It’s sweet in a soft, cozy way. Vodka and ginger notes break the composition and introduce some masculinity and sharpness. It makes this scent even more sexy. I could smell it on me for 2-3 h, then it fades away, unfortunately. Still, I love it.

I have a a box filled with testers, and today I thought I would try out some of them. I picked up this blue tester, thinking it would be another blue aquatic scent.
This knocked me off my feet, when you have no idea what you are testing, and you expect to smell the ocean….. and instead you get Russian Vodka and Belgian Chocolate…..??
This one really got me spinning I can’t figure it out, it is femminine and masculine, cold and warm, very unusual and dark. I like it.
I have a bottle of Black Orchid which I hoped would be my dark mysterious type of scent, but we don’t seem to get along. I think this could have been my Black Orchid, except that it has no longivety. After an hour it is hardly detectable on me.
PS My husband think’s it smelled like a doctor’s office, how he remembers them, from his childhood.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Hea.ven.ly. I can’t stop smelling myself. If you like powdery fragrances with iris, cacao, and sandalwood, this one is AMAZING. It’s also very versatile; light application and you can wear this at the office, a bit more heavy and you’re ready for date night.
I know most people don’t associate powdery with sexy, sultry, or sophisticated, but Notte is exactly that on my skin. LOVE it.
Note about longevity: I find that perfume lasts longer on me if I apply to the inside of my elbows rather than my wrists, so if you are having longevity issues with this one, that might help. It usually lasts about 5-6 hours, and then is only faintly detectable without reapplication.

  24. :

Opening notes are fresh and spicy (hot gingery citrus) which then dries to a strong, sharp incense aroma. This is a strong perfume, so carefully spray. It is also very sweet on my skin. Totally settles into an interesting melange of notes which include ginger, powder, amber, tobacco and sweet florals. This is intriguing because one minute it is very sweet and powdery, the next it is deep and spicy. The sillage is mostly boozy floral though. A confusing mystery to my nose. I would definitely wear at night, in cooler temperatures.

Beautiful scent, i finally got it in my collection… This is awesome, fresh, sweet and oh so lovely……
Sweet ginger, lemonade, but sophisticated spice, soft lime like touches of marshmallow……….Intoxicating, but not killing the nose. No wonder I hunted this down, I need to buy more and more. Dry down is like more musty smell but still divine, recognisable scent from the beginning. Does not lose it sweet style…in a good way..
If you love Oriental, sweet style, then you will love this. Masterpiece in perfume in my opinion. x

BLV Notte pour Femme is a very clean, powdery scent, with very little to differentiate it from a typical women’s deodorant spray (or, *shudder*, something like Summer’s Eve). I’m baffled by this “vodka” note, as well — I don’t consider vodka to have much of a smell beyond just alcohol. In fact it’s pretty much the same smell as typical perfumer’s alcohol, which is what would be used to dilute this scent. Although I guess it is a clever marketing trick to try to play off the perfume alcohol in the bottle as an intentional note.
Once the alcohol evaporates out of this fragrance, you are left with a very sanitized CGI iris note. Not at all natural or authentic, it’s more just like the mental suggestion of iris. There’s a tiny bit of incense and ginger underneath, but I think this note pyramid is pretty much a work of fiction.
There’s absolutely nothing nighttime or seductive about this fragrance, contrary to what the name and ad campaign suggest. It’s the sort of perfume you would wear if you felt like you needed to wear perfume but wanted to make absolutely no statement with it. It’s almost a placeholder for a different, better fragrance. It doesn’t smell bad but it’s just so decidedly plain that I’m kind of turned off by it. Maybe I just don’t “get” this fragrance.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

Funny how vanilla isn’t even listed in the notes pyramid and yet, on my skin it smells basically like vanilla incense. Not a bad one, but definitely not a favorite either.

  28. :

Notte is a very fine powdery fragrance which is very dear to me even though I haven’t used it in a while.
It opens with a burst of vodka but soon mellows down to a soft chocolate note ending with amber getting quite powdery, at this point the scent stays more or less the same till the end of its journey very refined and subtle.
Notte is a very complimented scent very suitable for work environment as it’s not too heavy and won’t offende anyone and can be used even during summer since it’s not cloying

As much as I had said smelled of gasoline I absolutely love this perfume and will buy it until it is no longer available. It has become my all time eccentric and wear it at night in the period called drifting off to dreamland.

I agree with you, Inamorata. This is a unique piece of creation by Bvlgari, which I adore. I usually buy my cosmetics and fragrances via Strawberrynet, but this one it is not listed, unfortunately. I hope they will get it soon. I have other opportunities for purchasing it, of course. I tried it, never bought this one so far. But I plan to do so, in a couple of months:)

  32. :

For me, this fragrance is like an exquisite and precious piece of jewelry designed by Bvlgari. It is a luxurious fragrance, suitable, from my point of view, for evening wear only. It complements a precious look. I guess that my passion for dark chocolate is the reason I instantly fell in love with this perfume. I don not have it anymore, but I miss dearly wearing it.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Initial phase (40 mins): ALL the soapiest notes in this concoction come forward on me, unfortunately. I get loads of vodka (making it smell cheap to me), ginger & galanga, iris (lending a sort of baby-wipe scent as it sometimes does when combined with white musk etc), & bergamot. It’s not very pleasant to me at this stage, but I tend to shy away from anything that reminds me of soap…
Will report back later in the day.
About 2.5 hours in: Faint wafts of something sweet but difficult to pin down are showing up. I could see it being cocoa, but ‘dark chocolate’ not so much. There’s really no sweetness other than from the anise. Also sniffing up close here it has a pleasant iris powdery-softness to it. All initial strong traces of vodka, ginger, and bergamot are gone.
Summary: SPICY-FRESH, multi-faceted, but ultimately not quite my cup of tea. I will wear it a bit more in hopes of finding more chocolate 😉

had a tiny little splash bottle of this years ago and have been wanting it again. all i remember was super transparent dark chocolate and vodka. sounds like it would be gross, but it was very sheer and projected well.
i didn’t think i could “get away with it” at the time, but the older i get, the less i give a crap whether i have a cohesive brand. hehehe

  35. :

I found it at discount store rather cheap so decided to give it a try. definitely get citrus and vodka, but all too soon it cycles into middle notes into iris and tobacco(which together is little powdery but addition of ginger produces rather unisex feel).
I don’t get chocolate at all in this which is too bad. My husband thought it smelled like men’s cologne-its kind of true as it can be unisex. Its an interesting scent but I don’t think its for me

I scored a full bottle on a blind buy at the local thrift. Didn’t test it until I got home. Wham right out of the bottle smelled like gasoline, seriously. Not enough to wash off, perfumes are interesting. Hard to believe for a femme. Didn’t last long on me and realize one that my dry skin will need to wear after serious moisture applied. Anyways tried it again last night and wham like being slapped by a grease monkey. Metal and gasoline and than in ten minutes pure joy Irises. I love iris and very, very, very hard to capture in my opinion. And the dry down was soft and Moody nice. Never did smell chocolate. I think vodka and civet equals the grease monkey and have decided willing to get smacked on occasion for the Iris. An odd perfume definitely winter and night pile in my stash.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

The opening of BLV Notte is sort of spicy in a wet and fresh way, with a pronounced mix of galanga, ginger and vodka, accompanied by a gentle citrus blend. After about 20 minutes, it then settles into a very vague, powdery sweetness, with the previous aquatic fresh spicy aspect in the background. So far, I can’t detect any distinctive chocolate aroma. If it’s really there, I’d say it contributes to the sweet powder effect.
The sillage is soft and its longevity is around 6 or 7 hours. I’m slightly disappointed as I’d expected a distinctive chocolate note in the drydown to contrast with the promising aquatic spicy galanga opening. At the same time, it’s actually a versatile and inoffensive fragrance with a peculiar fresh spicy twist of galanga. Thanks to its softness, the powdery and sweet drydown is very gentle. It’s a good aquatic and powdery fragrance, but I can’t help thinking it could have been more remarkable if the concept was brought out to a further extent.

Bvlgari Notte can easily fool you. For me, Bvlgari are safe perfumes that I would gladly received as a gift. Perfect as a gift too, if you are not sure about someone’s taste, except Au The Rouge. Nothing similar ever experienced, such a pitty it was dicontinued.
    So, I wasn’t expecting a surprise.
Notte is incredibly strong, longlasting, quite different from other Bvlgari. Don’t overdo it, but enjoy few drops. Fall, Winter … don’t even try in other seasons.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I received a bottle of Blv Notte as a gift. It seemed like a good idea…
If I had to choose just one word to describe my view of Blv, it would be confusing. Possibly, even annoying. It is a perfume that either wants to be all things to all wearers, or has no idea what to be at all. I’ve worn it numerous times, always around the house, because it simply wears on my nerves after a while, and I want to be able to wash it off or spray something else over it. It has elements of many things which I do like: incense, balminess, a spicy note (which smells like cardamom, something I love, although cardamom is not listed), and iris. It offsets these things, unfortunately, with things I don’t love in perfume: vodka and chocolate; and with tobacco, which just seems really out of sync with the rest of the composition.
The initial phase is a push-pull of spice and faintly boozy weirdness. I’m pleased when it dies away, to be replaced by what is the best phase, the warming up of the resiny-balmy good bits, suffused with an iris character as well. At this point, I rather like it, although it has still these other facets that distract me and keep me from truly loving it. Eventually, a bit of sandalwood appears, nice but not especially distinctive. Then a funky chocolatey note comes out; I recognize it from the opening, where it was subsumed in “vodka” or whatever that sneezy booze note really is made of. I begin to think of cheap scented pipe tobacco or bad American mass-market chocolate. Then, the final olfactory blow for me: a weird, increasingly powdery note, queasily sweetish and chemical and most off-putting. The first time I wore Blv I was racking my brain to pin down what this phase reminded me of, and finally it came to me: disposable diapers! (It probably took me that long because my child wore cloth nappies; hence, it was a known but not very familiar scent.)
So for me, Blv is not a success. I don’t care to smell of disposable, chemical-impregnated diapers. I also don’t tend to like “food” notes in my perfumes, so the chocolate thing wasn’t going to strike my fancy. I had Jo Malone’s Blue Agave & Cacao previously, and I think as chocolate notes go, it’s a much better version, though not very durable. While others may appreciate the “clean” or “soapy” perfumes, they aren’t for me—I bathe to be clean and expect definite scent from my perfumes. I wonder if perhaps this might smell better on men, generally, for some reason.
I found the sillage to be quite light and the duration medium. It clings to fabric fairly well, and actually smells better to me that way. I get less of a sense of toxic- ‘chocolate’- air-freshener-scented-nursery on clothing than I do on my skin…

I don’t know how to describe how attracts me this scent! Many years ago, I first smelled it on my sister. Impressed me, but this time in my life I was not so fond of perfumes. A few weeks ago I accidentally came across it in a perfumery and my memories of this wonderful flavor is back in full force … so elegant, exhilarating and attractive. I never liked the smell of incense. Here, however, love it. Perhaps the impurity of vodka, labdanum, iris and chocolate makes this perfume so delicate, feminine and at the same time unique and memorable. Although it is not at all intrusive people around me feel it and constantly comment how nice I smell.Yesterday morning, sprayed at 8 am, in the evening at 8 pm is still felt by others. I can not believe that I was depriving so many years of this treasure.

Yay another fantastic blind buy. I can’t quite even describe this scent other then pure yummy. Warm and amazing. I don’t find this masculinizing at all. It’s just really really good.. I smell tobacco, chocolate, vodka but not overpowering. It’s a great fall scent in my opinion and I would recommend this.
So let’s talk about lasting power. Bvlgari has it. I sprayed it on mid day and by the next morning I could still smell it gently on my wrist. Now that’s amazing as not many perfumes have the ability to do that.

I got this as an extra in a swap (a few ml left in a purse spray), and I sprayed it on before reading the notes and reviews, so I had no predetermined expectations. It smelled very fresh, airy, and powdery as other reviewers have said, and even kind of had a green accord. It smells feminine to me. I’m wearing it in July in a very hot climate, and I don’t feel like it’s too heavy. I can imagine wearing it to work; it’s not offensive at all. Now that I read all the posts here, I can kind of smell the chocolate, and I completely agree with another reviewer here that the chocolate is a lot like that in SJP Covet.

Ooooh la la… this fragrance starts out strong, like a men’s fragrance – but quickly evolves into something very mezmerizing and enchanting. I feel that this has aphrodesiac potential (with the right chemistry, of course).
    Overall Impression:
Upper market ingredients, this smells rich and sophisticated, it is blended with a lot of care and precision, but with artistry as well.
    Notes:
Chocolate Baby Powder and a slight hint of almond-like booze; sultry, HOT, Sexy (the REAL DEAL… not like the Victoria’s secret fragrances that brag about being Sexy, but smell like cotton candy).
This has a very “powdery” dry down, so this will either BE YOUR THING, or you won’t like it. The strong “powder scent” didn’t hit my chemistry until about 3 hours into it, but it is a strong enough impression where you will have to LOVE powdery smells to really enjoy this fragrance.
    ————-
The first 10 minutes – is going on with such a deep chord that it smells almost like a men’s cologne on me. Chemistry is everything, so I’ll keep wearing it and see how this shapes up in a few hours. But the onset – is mid-strength but lower based chord, stepping into the men’s fragrance zone… or at least uni-sex.
20 – 30 minutes into this fragrance, and this is becoming very enchanting and mezmerizing. This has an oooooh la la factor to it (sultry, sexy, mysterious, alluring, really draws you in with some type of covert carnal desire. This has the type of chemistry with my skin that borders on an aphrodesiac)… very similar to Tom Ford’s Black Orchid or a much softer version of Narciso Rodriques for Her fragrance. This is in that lower alto or upper tenor range where I seem to receive the most compliments from men. I can see how this would be very appealing to men, it definitely has some type of draw to it that most men may find sexy and mysterious.
A couple of people say that they were seeking the chocolate resonance in the ingredient list. I can definitely smell that – and a slight hint of musk. On my skin, this is very similar to Narciso Rodrigues for Her – only Narciso for Her has a deeper chord of vetiver and musk and initially has more silage than this fragrance.
With my chemistry, this fragrance is wearing close to the skin. It is not leaping out with huge silage, so could be good to wear to an event with a tightly packed audience – such as to a theater event, crowded movie, night clubbing, etc… In this respect, this fragrance wears a lot like My Insolence, another fragrance that wears close to the skin and doesn’t have a monstrous silage.
I can definitely see how people felt that this was a “sexy cologne” – it definitely has this sensual quality about it – and it is so dark and mysterious that I could see this fitting in with an evening fragrance. It is balmy. There is something about this that is alluring, dark, and hints at mystery.
Is this MY “signature fragrance”?… I love the way that this fragrance first sets up on my skin, but about 3 – 4 hours into the wear of this, it is going a bit too powdery on my skin. Keep in mind, I have very unique chemistry and some things do not work for me, that are great on other people. This started off so great, that I would definitely recommend for you to try. I think some people will love the dry down. But it is going too powdery, on me.

This smells very similar to Angel by Thierry Mugler for women and wears in the same family with Creed Love in Black and Mitsouko by Guerlain.

For those of you wondering about “galanga”…it’s “ginger”. Galangal is the ginger plant, with leaves, flowers, and rhizomes. On me BLV Notte is nearly candy-sweet, and heavy with cocoa-vanilla-incense. There’s a bit of fresh ginger root blended with Nicotiana in the drydown, but on my skin this smells like a Bailey’s Martini made with Vanilla vodka. Great for a cold winter’s night.

I have a 2.5 fl.oz 95% full bottle of this for swap, looking for anything from my want list of a similar size but open to suggestions.

This was a blind buy off ebay based on the notes and accords listed, most of which I shouldn’t have a problem with; although, admittedly, never having experienced a “vodka” accord. wth?
However … on application, it is too masculine and smells like a men’s cologne on me right off the bat. Not knowing what galanga is supposed to smell like, I can only guess that maybe it and the vodka are a potent cocktail of unpleasantness for me. I can pick up powdery iris and the amber as it moves into drydown. I get no sweet; I get no dark chocolate/cocoa. Just ginger-spicy and powde
