Xerjoff Homme opens with a strong, deep black leather and with a very intriguing and enthralling gasoline or even black marker, almost nail polish like accord. It could also bring to mind that this high-end leather has just been treated. It’s not without reminding me of a berry-less Tuscan Leather. If this is what you are looking for, make sure to try this one.
As time goes on unfortunately to me, while it makes it also easier to wear, that gasoline/black marker vibe abates significantly and the leather becomes “cleaner” with lavender, slightly powdery florals, dry spices and subtle vetiver showing in the background. At this point, the thick dark leather gets an old-school, classy and spicy fougère vibe to it as well, somewhat ala Rive Gauche or Azzaro PH for example.
At this point the common comparisons with Knize Ten makes more sense. I prefer the Xerjoff especially in the opening but still, before committing to a bottle of Homme make sure to try them both side by side and judge if it is worth the enormous price difference to you…

I have tested lots of leather fragrances and this is one of the most disappointing juices I have ever tried, it smells like knize ten but sweeter. Not worth the money!!!!!

This fragrance has three or four distinct phases. The opening is a typical rich, fresh blend of bergamot and Lavendar giving a fougere feel. After 5 minutes the spices and the strong leather note come forward. The leather materialises as a sort of smooth petrochemical smell which one would associate with substances used to treat leather. After 45 minutes the leather dies down and this is where the Knize 10 connection is very accurate. 2 hours leather is gone and all that is left is the cloves and powdery woods for the remaining duration. It is this final stage that leaves me Fengtai a bit short-changed and makes the $675 price tag seem ridiculous.

The opening is not the same but after 45 min to about an hour it will be.
Ah yes I almost forgot to mention; Knize Ten actually lasts forever, this ultra expensive stuff vanishes after about 8 hours.

العطر مصمم ليرتكز على الجلود كمكون اساسى ولكنه ليس ككل العطور الجلديه العقيمه وانا هذا العطر متخم بمكونات نقيه للغايه تظهر وتختفى على خلفيه الجلد الذى يظهر خشنا بطبيعه مطاطيه فى النصف ساعه الاولى ويكتفى بالتواجد حتى النهايه بشكل ناعم وسلس وفخم للغايه كرائحه افضل جلد ممكن شمه او مصادفته.
الافتتاحيه الرائعه الصارخه من النوتات الحمضيه الزرجوفيه بالتخصص الليمون والبرجموت والبرتقال مع نوته الزنجبيل والكراويه ثم تظهر رائحه اللافندر المميزه الذى لايشبه احدا تحس انه لافندر متفرد مع (منتخب العالم) وكانها اجتمعت لتكون قلب هذا العطر الورد البلغارى واليلانج يلانج والسوسن والقرنفل …الورد بارز وجميل مع تابليه القرنفل ونعومه السوسن شئ خيال …تخيل ان قلب العطر يستمر معك لساعات يدعمه الجلود فى الخلفيه ثم ياتى نهايه العطر بمنتخب اخر من نوتات العنبر والمسك والفانيلا واخشاب البتولا والصندل .
مع هذا العطر ستفكر فى امور كثيره اولا هل تستحق هذه العطور قيمتها ….نعم بل وتستحق وزنها ذهبا ..حين مقارنه هذا العطر الذكورى ب ديغاليف روجا دوف سترى فرق التوليف العبقرى
ثانيا …الهرم العطرى …مابين المبالغه والتتفيه ….مع هذا العطر النوتات تتراقص وتلعب بشراهه …وهى واضحه وجليه مع مركبات كيميائيه تمنحها تحليقا …الهرم العطرى هنا يكاد يتكلم من تلقاء نفسه …بل ويبدأ انفك فى التقاط نوتات غائبه مثل نوتة الشاى والتوباكو مثلا

عطر عالى فى برج عالى يخاطب الانوف والهمم العاليه والسعر غالى حوالى 500 يورو لحجم ال100 مل …فوحان نووى وثبات جيد جدا
انصح بتجربته قبل الشراء لان على الرغم من الابداع فى التوليف قد لا يناسب الانوف المرهف كوحش كلاسيكى جلدى حمضى لافندرى للرجال .

yes it is truly another version of Knize 10. beautifully blended but too over priced.
Edit (13th Aug 2015) i tested it again today and i realized that the opening is quite offensive as Blask, but the calm down is superbly good and KIND OF similar to Knize Ten with the essence of a calming body lotion that has 80s vintage’s charms. It is trully expensive but it screams quality with masculinity. Burst it men and grab these hot ladies of Fragrantica 😉

I really hate it when I find a really expensive product that really is really great. Xerjoff Homme is like a more perfect (less overtly soapy) version of Knize Ten, which is already pretty great. It has that wonderful edible/animalic note that so many of the great leathers have and there’s just enough clove to give some interest without it turning overly clovey.

Absolutely a stunning masculine fragrance. I fully agree with the aformentioned comments about the petrolanum like smell. First time i smelled this fragrance it’s the first thing that came into my mind.
Beautiful drydown, sexy, warm and masculine. This is how every high end man should smell after a night out … Mixed smokey notes empower it fully and gives that personal taste to it.
The best leather and smokey fragrance ive ever tried. Unfortunately bless the price, totally unaffordable.

Of all perfumes the basis of leather, this in my humble opinion, is the God of leathers, especially with modern focus, without that very classic air, it is totally remarkable superiority and quality in its aroma.
A combination I believe to be bergamot and other citruses with floral nuances and an incredible leather, divine, with woods around, this result of both numbs and intrigue at the same time. It creates a scent like a slight touch of fuel, which brought me an inexplicable sensation, yes it seems hallucinogenic.
There is not much to say, just feeling and pleasure with this scent, a kind feel instead of being in a luxury car, being in a luxury plane

When I first applied this fragrance I thought I’d found some heavenly juice the opening few seconds are fresh and you definitely get a fruity citrus blast..at least I did anyway and it was not what I was expecting.
Then within seconds it starts to develop from the mouth watering…to the headache inducing! A VERY PETROLEUM like vibe starts to develop and as much as I kind of like the smell of petrol in a Pervy sort of way, I would never understand a desire to smell like it!
It has a hint of smoke too and between that and the stinging petrol note you can just about make out the pleasant scent it began with.
The petrol dies down and the fragrance improves a little to a leathery type scent in the dry down. The prominent note is clove (not my favourite note when maximised anyway!) and if you’re looking for a sweet, calm, enjoyable leather fragrance …this is not it!
Amongst all these negatives there’s something addictive about it…and a very faint edge or note which I can place but makes me almost like it.
It’s harsh in nearly every respect but challenging to my olfactory system and keeps me sniffing which I like, it’s almost like a self abusive thing!
Like a rubbernecking at a horrific car accident you know you shouldn’t and don’t really want to but you just can’t look away!

Somewhere between Etro’s Gomma and Knize Ten. More consistent and refined than the former but less powerful and compelling than the latter.
Xerjoff Homme is a butch and masculine leather prominent composition that opens with the same, characteristic gasoline note of the two aforementioned fragrances but where the Etro may result a little too literal in reproducing KT, the Xerjoff introduces a nice iris note to add some personality and soften the general harshness. Amber is clearly remarkable during the drydown but it’s not as enveloping as in the Knize (which may be good news to someone). Sort of a manicured and polished version of the austrian masterpiece. Great projection and amazing lasting power.
Personally I see no reasons to spend such big money to get a reproduction when you can have the original at 1/3 the price but, if by any chance, they will decide to discontinue Knize Ten, Xerjoff Homme will definitely become the only valid alternative.

I love leather, but wasn’t expecting to find it here, so this sample was a wonderful surprise. It starts off with dry, dusty, musty, fuzzy, wonderful leather, some green lavender, and a little bit of sweet floral that smells to me like iris. Maybe it’s the effect of combining ylang with leather. I don’t get much, if any, citrus since the main feature starts right away without any opening act.
The drydown is fairly linear, with the leather and faint floral persisting throughout. There’s moderate sillage, and the scent lasts and lasts, all day on skin, until washing on clothes. This is one spectacular leather scent! I think it might be my favorite of all the leathers that I’ve tried. It’s a pity that it’s so outrageously expensive. However, if a bottle were to suddenly appear on my doorstep, out of the blue, I’d take it in and use it often.
