Intense and soapy, as bel.gravia said. And if people say that Chanel No 5 smells soapy, they should test Heliotrope by Molinard …
It’s a dislike for me and I’m glad I didn’t followed my desire to go for a blind – buy when I saw it at a super affordable price in the fragrantica forum version for my country.
Allonekex – :
I was interested in buying this perfume, I LOVE the house of Molinard. Glad to know that it smells like poop!
Also that the longevity of said poop-smelling perfume is weak. They obviously know nothing about how to make perfume. Interesting how some peoples negative reviews never raise an eyebrow around here…

The musk in it must be the kind that doesn’t go well with my skin. Under all that powdery, floral goodness there’s some fecal scent. I tested this perfume on my skin, maybe I wouldn’t have sensed that note on a blotter. By the way, smelling it on me, my mother sensed that note too, so it’s not just my nose, maybe just my skin.
People should just accept that not everyone likes the same things as they do and perfumes react differently on everyone’s skin. I don’t see how mine and framorena’s reviews should rise any eyebrows. Reviews are based on personal experience and people experience fragrances differently.

Wonderful and new approach on heliotrope. Don’t expect this to smell mainstrean.
Has nothing in common with Chanel 5 and with no fragrance I came across so far.
Good longevity and sillage
Friertbix – :
I expected Heliotrope to be soft and powdery, but it is rather intense and soapy! Still very pleasant just not what I have expected.

Dear Dom, infact I said “some”, due to the fact that resinous ones are naturally longer-lasting than flowery ones. I already know perfumes you mentioned, and you’re right, their performances are better, but the others are not, as you can see by the votes given from the other fragrantica’s members also. Compared to some like Villoresi’s Teint de Neige (just to keep it in the similar notes and price-range) you can see the differences.

@ framorena You could give them a second chance. Compared to new 2017’formulas of Chanel, Guerlain or Dior, Molinard offers good performances. I tried Chypre Charnel and Ambré Lumière and I own Habanita both EDP and Cologne, Cuir, Patchouli Intense and plan to buy more.

Molinard’s perfumes are very good and pleasant, but some of them last too short.
I would have bought this and Chypre Charnelle if they only would have performed better;less than one hour on my skin.
They really should improve the formula.
