Description

The house of Tiziana Terenzi, known for its scented candles, presents its first Extrait de Parfum line in 2012. The line is inspired by fire with four different experiences of journey. “The hypnotic power and beauty of fire are always present in our lives, connecting us with great symbolic power to our emotions and to all of creation. The four new perfumes embody the four stages of a journey consumed by fire. In fire, every emotion, every image, every fragrance comes to life and exists almost independently from our thoughts. Our perfumes capture the indomitable spirit of our emotions. The creation of these perfume essences comes from the never-ending quest to depict and capture emotions. These perfumes embody the powerful Faustian desire to try to hold on to a beautiful moment, and the constant exploration of the “self and the non-self”. The fragrances are named XIX March, Ecstasy, Gold Rose Oudh and White Fire. The ones that have “black soul” are Gold Rose Oudh and White Fire and are labeled with leather label, while the ones with “white soul”, labeled with wood, are XIX March and Ecstasy.

Gold Rose Oudh symbolizes Fire in a desert camp. It depicts charm, mystery and sensual spicy notes of a night in wilderness.

Top notes: bergamot, fir, ember, sand. Heart: rose, patchouli, black pepper. Base: oud, amber, sandalwood, musk, honey.

It is available as 100 ml Extrait de Parfum.

The nose behind this fragrance is Paolo Terenzi.

Gold Rose Oudh has a dark mysterious aura about its aroma. Imagine being at a midnight campfire dancing to music surrounded by the moon and stars. The dark, intense, velvety rose is evocative of that of a loved one who you happen to share this magical night with, followed by the warmth of certain spices that hypnotises and soothes both your hearts, while honey lovingly teases with its subtle sweetness along with the comforting essence of oud, All of these well-blended notes transports you both to an almost forgotten wilderness of sensual spirituality. Willingly lose yourself within the charm of Tiziana Terenzi’s Gold Rose Oudh and you’ll start to understand and appreciate the fire that burns perpetually within the desert of your soul.

Can someone tell me how this compares with JHAG Midnight Oud please?

An interesting and likeable Oriental fragrance if not overtly novel in any special way. The perfume begins on a smoky sandy note evoking the desert with notes of bergamot, fir, ash, and sand but almost immediately moves to a solid heart consisting of rose, patchouli, and pepper. The perfume settles into a powdery base of oud, amber, sandalwood, musk, and honey. With the overwhelming rose and slight Oud note, the composition is not wholly novel from the flood of Rose Ouds in the market. The perfume however has a nice strong projection and sillage and good longevity. Overall this is nice but just not particularly new or exciting and there may be better as well as more economical Rose Ouds out there for your consideration. Enjoy!

A work of art for oud lovers. A rose oud heaven. Very Amouag-y. Beautiful combination with excellent performance but not worth retail price.

My first thought when I sniffed it on my arm was that it smelled a bit like Byredo Rose Noir. I would say that it smells and projects better than Rose Noir. If you are a rose-oud-combo lover, maybe you should look somewhere else cuz here you cannot find too much Oud if any. But if you enjoy dark smoky roses then this might be something for you.

This is the biggest, baddest, boldest full on DARK RED rose I have ever come across.
Consistent compliment getter – this will leave quite the trail.
Usually I get compliments at work but this one actually had a lady stop me in the street to ask me what it was. She said it reminded her of something she used to wear – “Ciao Ciao”…of which I could only find Houbigant Ciao – which does have rose but the rest of the notes dont look too similar. I wonder if anyone has smelled both and can attest??
I have a decant – which I will hopefully upgrade to a full bottle one day cos the packaging is amazing.
Has that sourness from the oud which only enhances the plush rosiness. Its like velvet, and makes me think of exotic places and heavy embroidered drapery.
Its the dusk on a hot day that leads to a cold night. All purple and red and orange and gold. Aptly named!!

This was my first niche fragrance I bought few years back (mid 2016). Had to make my second purchase recently because of the frag’s astounding performance (12hrs+ on me) and the fact that I’ve received tons of compliments! If you’re looking for a frag with impeccably lush notes of rose, oud, patchouli, amber and a wimpy dose of honey, look no further. Get “Gold Rose Oudh”, a bestseller ingeniously composed by Paolo Terenzi!
TOP NOTE: Calabrian Bergamot, Fir, Ember, Sand
MIDDLE NOTE: Bulgarian Rose, Indonesian Patchouli, Blackpepper
BASE NOTE: Indian Oudh, White Cambodian Oudh, Amber, Sandalwood, Musk, Honey

Something to celebrate with friends or a business partner or even a date, please continue to read 🙂
Imagine yourself somewhere in the Middle-East, holiday, business, and your going to have a special evening and you need to sit somewhere very luxurious, warm, cosy but also where you are able to have a nice dinner.
After dinner you should be able to set back in a comfort Lounge!
There you celebrate what you have achieved this week or day, and this evening is gonna be it.
That is how this dry down is described. The End is just marvelous.
And the Beginning is going to promise something great, as well as surprising.
Very nice evolving scent, very high quality, gonna buy more of this house!
    Rating
    Scent 9.0/10
Starts really nice as a strong Dark Rose Animalic opening, but blends well together with the sweet amber.
After that special dry-down which I was talking about, you get the smokey incense stick flavor.
Like in some Middle-east shisha but then 10x more luxurious. Can’t describe it concretely.
I like it. This Scent comes over very profesionally and for special occassions.
    Must wear!
    Nobility, richness, high class, special
    Longevity 9.5/10
As pronounced as a EXTRAIT DE PARFUM, carefull, they dont mess around, on my skin around 12+ hours.
On clothes, no matter where u spray, please be carefull, scent will stick on for more than 48 Hours + easily!
    Projection/Sillage 9.0/10
Carefull again, I overdid this just once, never again, but people tend to get overwhelmed by the scent.
Although it’s good, it was like it was attacking the whole surrounding area. Perhaps just for the 3+ hours, but I don’t want to offend with a fragrance. It settles down in a very nice, comfortable range.
So, Extrait makes true to it’s name. It’s concentration and formula is powerfull.
    Pricing 9.1/10
For a NICHE parfum, EXTRAIT, and 100 ML, it has quite the superb pricing. Super offer for such nice performance and bottle, packaging comes with information booklets about the Brand. Awesome!
Probably prices will increase, but it’s a rather new name in the Niche world. Or I am just walking behind the historical stats.
    Overall Rating 9.2/10
First Niche Brand in my collection, I like it, did some research later on, has high performance and at this moment, superb pricing/quality.
You pay a lot, You get a lot.
So get one if you get the chance, or at least, TRY one.
    Awesome Fragrance.

I bought this last year and wore it and never thought much about it but this autumn I have started wearing it again and I feel all these different notes and nuances.
I get a good blast of lime, rose, patchouli, sandalwood, honey, pepper, fir, musk, most notes listed if not all. At first I thought it gave off a slight bleach-like effect in the background but I actually know what it is now with reading about sandalwood and people saying a pickle kind of a note.
In the mid phases which is also mostly the base, I get mainly a patchy, velvety rose which is in the background with pepper and fir at the front. There is musk and lime all the way through although that slight bleachy effect I was talking about could be the lime (rind) providing some very faint bitterness.
The composition may have similarities with the aforementioned fragrances but it does get one over them in the sense that the materials used hold very well from start to finish and at no point it feels like an average fragrance.
I don’t really judge performance on skin or clothes anymore but if I can smell it on myself when I breathe in or shuffle around then it makes more sense to me. I can smell it for roughly 5-6 hours whilst wearing it with it still being present on my clothes if I smell closer. If I pass by my hanging clothes or smell them the following day then I can still smell it and it makes me appreciate it more.
It is an extrait so it would not jump out at you or anyone but can be perceived in close proximity. It’s becoming an almost signature based on the times I have worn it over the last few weeks. So yeah, I think I love this one and maybe someone will fall in love with you when they smell this on you 😉

    Patchouli, rose, bokhoor.
This has an Arabian stamp with that Bokhoor. Bokhoor is not oud, it’s a man made Arabian incense, it is made by mixing few items like patchouli, raw amber, musk, saffron, etc blend them under a certain heat, cool it & make it in different shapes (mostly balls) then let it burn under small piece of coal & smell the essence of heaven.
Now this has that type of bokhoor including patchouli, amber, red roses, & sandalwood.
I don’t want to say that it’s another rose oud blend cause it’s not, it does present the Arabian Bokhoor quite well. Fairly done

This has no sweetness whatsoever on my skin. I can tell the richness and elegance of it, but mostly the sourness of the patchouli and cedar come to the front with the shy red rose behind them. Later the fir needles and amber start to show up but, sourness nonetheless…

    “Grazie Paolo Terenzi!!”
As a lover of rose, I currently own over ten niche rose fragrances in my collection. Gold Rose Oudh has genuinely left a positive impression on me that I have to rank it up there with Sospiro Duetto and Christian Dior Oud Ispahan, but for different reasons.
Rose Oudh Gold may come off as a typical rose oud combo, but offers a lot more than the likes of Montale Starry Nights, Portrait of Lady of FM, Montale Black Aoud, By Kilian Rose Oud, etc.
It has the same DNA as Montale Black Aoud, but I had to get rid of the Black Aoud as soon as I purchased the Gold Rose Oudh.
The opening is somewhat similar, but they depart shortly after they are applied. Rose Gold Oudh is less airy, more authentic, and more refined.
The best way to compare the two is like comparing an S-Class Benz with Hyundai Genesis. Genesis is a great car by itself.
An inexperienced car enthusiast may put them in the same category, but the flaws of the Genesis are easily exposed in front of an experienced car enthusiast.
Rose and oud are always in the background, but in a sensual and attractive manner. Woods, spices, amber, musk, and honey dance in different layers to add charisma and personality.
This fragrance has such a large personality that never ceases to bore or disappoint from start to finish.
Gold Rose Oudh is extremely crisp, fresh, and high contrast. Perhaps it explains the word “Gold” in the name of the fragrance.
The longevity and silage are monster. I can smell it in my car for a few days after I wear it. It stays on my jacket for so long that I don’t even remember when it was applied.
I don’t wear fragrances to receive compliments, but I appreciate compliments nonetheless.
I have been harassed by colleagues and total strangers with compliments. It is to the point that I am sometimes asked to wear Gold Rose Oudh when I have meetings with certain colleagues.
Money for money, Gold Rose Oudh is a better choice than Sospiro Duetto. There is no question there, but Duetto is more romantic, less rugged, and more mysterious.
I would still rank Christian Dior Oud Ispahan as the king of the rose oud fragrances because it is such a departure from any rose oud combo.
Paolo Terenzi never disappoints, and Gold Rose Oud isn’t an exception either. If you are a rose fragrance lover, you MUST get your nose on it.
Top notch fragrance by the awesome Paolo Terenzi.
    10/10.

I love other Tiziana Terenzi perfumes but this one is too sweet for me to wear. At the beginning and for about 30 minutes after, I get this strong plastic doll smell. And sweetness. The drydown is more subdued and less sweet but I don’t want to have to go through the plastic and sweetness to get to that.

  14. :

    4 out of 5

More refined version of Montale Black Aoud fulllstop. No more of this.

  15. :

    4 out of 5

Gold Rose Oudh shares the Rose Patchouli and Oudh DNA of Montales’ Black Aoud. Where it differs and kind of goes to the next level is with the addition of the Honey, sandalwood and pepper notes. Makes it a much richer composition, more well rounded and balanced as well. Paolo Terenzi has done a fabulous job. I had Black aoud and when I sniffed this, I sold My Montale and picked up a full bottle of this little gem.
Projection is good but not the nuclear fallout of Black Aoud. Longevity likewise is about 8-10 hours instead of the 24 hours of the Vintage Montale. Cost wise, atleast here in India, they are similar. Black Aoud retails for about 7000 rupees/110$ but you get testers for as low as 3000/45$. TT Gold rose oudh likewise retails about 9000/140$ but official Testers are available for about 4500/70$. So if you are going purely by most bang for your buck, take the Black Aoud but if you want the overall better frag, Gold Rose Oudh is it. Its like the difference between Coach and First Class. They both get you to your destination but the experience is very different. 9/10

I have to rewrite my review for Gold Rose Oudh because wow, what a beauty she is.
The first two times I tested GRO I applied it shyly, one tiny spray, and the result was an animalic opening with dark bitter sour roses and it just didn’t work for me.
Today I sprayed a little more generously, 3 sprays, and this made me discover the true beauty. Yes, sometimes more is better 😉
The top is deep dark bitter. Imagine a rose dark as blood, dried blood, almost black, with a thick stem and the darkest green leaves you’ve seen, standing in rich wet soil, that’s the image that comes to my mind. That rich earth is probably the patchouli and oud. I remember smelling some high quality Oud oil a few years ago and it transported me to winter walks in the forest I made as a kid. While smelling of rotting leaves and wet soil mixed with a pine smell, there’s still something comforting about it. In this fertile setting stands a lush dark rose with a powerful deep aroma, on the bitter side, not sweet.
I didn’t pay attention to the evolution, but suddenly I was thinking gosh, I love this. In the dry down the play between the rose, the Oud (soil note) is perfectly balanced out, it has softened, become more dusty or powdery, more smoky, whilst hiding some sweetness under that smoky cover, and it’s captivating. I can’t keep my nose off my arm, and boy am I glad I held on to my bottle and didn’t swap it away as soon as I got it.
This may have joined the ranks in my personal best and most loved rose Oud combos.

This is an excellent one for rose perfume lovers.
IMO its very similar to black oud by Montale, unfortunately I cant compare head to head at the moment.
The oud is in the background, and its mainly rose that shines all the way throughout the perfume life.
The longer it stays the better it gets, the beginning is bit loud so better give it some time between spraying and going out.
Its very heavy too, excellent sillage and longevity.
Again similar to my views on Montale black oud, it is better for cold than warm weather, more feminine than masculine but these can be ignored if you use it in small amounts.
I would happily wear this (Im a man), but not with T-shirt. It is very elegant if worn on the right occasion.

Very nice, but i’ll pass. The rose here is jammy rose similar to the one found in ByKilian’s Rose Oud, and the oud is of the band-aid type similar to the one found in Black Aoud. In general I think this work better on women.
Update. It dries down to a peppery musk, very enjoyable at this stage, but that is after 5 hours (this thing is a beast). I still think this is better suited for women although now it has garnered my respect.

    @Eurochic
Your descriptions sound like you got more than just rose!
It’s common to have other notes surrounding a theme and simply supporting the main note even if it’s not a soliflore.
In this case, “animalic” and “sour” is not how you typically describe rose, so that’s probably oud and fir at work; the darkness and “potpourri” could be patchouli, and if at any point the rose smelled jammy, honey probably helped 🙂
To me this is on the same boat as Portrait of a Lady–a somewhat oriental rose accentuated by patchouli and incense (replaced by oud in this case).

Another blind buy based on reviews that didn’t go right. I wish I’d get all the different notes that everyone is smelling. On my skin it’s all rose and nothing else. Where’s the dry oud? The patch? The honey? The bright bergamot opening?
The first 30 minutes GRO has beast mode projection, very animalic and piercing sour rose. The second stage I get more rose, in all its facets: green, bitter, sour, deep, dark, not sweet at all. After two hours of wear the scent softens and becomes close to the skin. Now it’s a faded rose, the kind you can smell in a potpourri. I really have to learn not to blind buy 🙁
I’d recommend GRO to rose fragrance lovers. If you’re looking for oud, you might be disappointed, as I was.
EDIT. I’ve been wearing it for 5 hours now and the scent has become a honeyed rose. Sadly still no oud.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy a strong rose oud aroma surprisingly I was. The rose note in this juice has a very deep warm base. Oud is very subtle but it’s enough to support the main note. I barley piick up any honey, but there’s a hint of spicy/herbal patchouli which calms the rose aroma. After awhile there’s an increased woods base with the rose note it has a warm long lasting aroma.
Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting over 8hrs
    Finally thoughts,
If I could change anything it would be the OUD note, I would make it more prominent and make the rose note more subtle. The rose note does eventually settle down which makes this juice ABOUSOTLEY TOPS in the Oud’s fragrance at a fraction of the price. This is a real attractive affordable first class EDP…. 8.5/10

Wow this is something that HAS to be tried on the skin.. When I first sprayed it on paper, it was extremely sweet and generic so I quickly dismissed it.
But after reading Colin Maillard’s review, I gave it another try (as he’s not one to praise rose-oud easily); the sweetness faded quickly and the depth suddenly appears! It’s still very much rose-centric with little oud, but what a nice sultry rose!

Whoever says that this is e weak scent, is so so wrong-this can kill you, but in a good way.
If you are a rose fan this is a must try, good stuff!

If you are new to OUD smells and if you are the type of guy that prefers to smell good…and I mean good…if you are that person that prefers Hermes eau tres fraiche, guerlain homme, mugler cologne, he wood, DHS, versace pour homme and some other generally good smelling colognes… (this is my case)…then please…NEVER blind buy this…it is a bit too challenging to the nose…specially if you fit that type of person mentioned above…I tried this after my dinner and I have felt nauseated ever since…it is different…yes it is…but also too potent and pungent to my taste…for me a clear PASS…I prefer to remain more mainstream oriented without falling into the hype and disgrace of 1 million, invictus and other s…t like that…

  25. :

Good stuff, but it’s like Black Aoud (Montale) with some honey added. A bit more feminine in my opinion.

    5 out of 5

My FIRST FULL BOTTLE of this extrait perfume arrived and I am in love! Standing out from the many other rose oudh perfumes currently on the market, Gold Rose Oudh is wearable and a beautiful entree for anyone wanting to try a floral-rose-oudh perfume.
The initial notes of this perfume are intense chypre with spicy, almost harsh balsam, evergreen, moss, IMHO. I detect bergamot, fir-tree, moss, evergreen & earthy notes that eventually recede but remain throughout the entire application. Within 3-5 minutes, the opening morphs into mid-notes that land HARD. After the initial application, I definitely smell strong notes of oudh, Bulgarian rose, earth, patchouli, moss, woody resins, HONEY & AMBER & DIRT. At times, the middle practically smells fecal & cloying. At times, the mid-notes are DIFFICULT to take, smelling like a sour & moldy, messy mixture.
Stay with the fragrance because the dry-down is where the true magic begins. Becoming perfectly balanced, the dry-down and base notes of this fragrance are lovely. Pulling off what (at times) seems like an impossibility, the entire fragrance DOES settle down into a perfectly balanced mixture of chypre, honey-amber, faint rose, oudh, other woods & musk. Woodsy, musk-y, earthy, creamy, resinous & rich, I also detect some powdery notes during dry-down. I must say the subtly added honey-amber notes, as well as the perfect addition of musk contribute to the balance, warmth and well-rounded, almost creamy ethereal nature of this fragrance. Leaning towards the feminine side, I cannot imagine this perfume on a guy.
Initially uncertain, I am thrilled I purchased a full bottle for under $200! If you love oudh & rose fragrances, please give this fragrance time! I am so glad I did! A lighter, somewhat simpler, and more affordable alternative to Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady (which I love but $$$), as well as By Killian Rose Oud ($$$), this fragrance drew me in and I’m glad it did! Gold Rose Oudh DOES have a lot going on but the dry-down is lovely!
I thought for my tastes, I preferred a rose-oud fragrance to be complex but (perhaps) a bit more straight-forward, simplistic and linear in the end than TT Gold Rose Oudh. But I am loving this fragrance a lot!

Ok. This is a strange perfume. It goes on almost like an oriental, spicy and mild but almost as if it is holding something back. I start to smell bergamot and fir – and surprisingly – I like it! The rose and patchouli comes through but arent sweet. I keep smelling it and the oudh is apparent throughout. i enjoy it although approx 20 minutes later I decide it isn’t for me. It is difficult to determine why. I can smell everything it says it is but at the end there is a powdery smell that just doesnt work on my skin. As I could smell so many notes in the perfume it is definitely one to try before you buy. It is stated to be unisex but I see it working best on a man and probably in his 20s/early 30s.
