It is a scent to wear to the gym or on a hot beach where temps are 30+
Considering the hype, fragrance was somewhat of a let down

A pleasant neroli with floral elements. After some time though, I got a bit tired of it being somewhat one-dimensional and gave it away. There are other similar and more complex fragrances out there.

Very nice fragrance. One that could be worn all year round I think. I’ve never tried bergamote 22 so don’t know if it smells close to it or not.
It’s very bright and fresh with the citrus and after a few minutes it sweetens up, I assume from the florals. I get good longevity out of it but the projection dies down after a while.
Overall a really good fragrance and worth it if you can get a good price on it. On ebay, I guess since it’s getting harder to find the prices are skyrocketing a little. But if you can get it for under $50 it’s worth it.

I really hate youtube reviews praising fragrances that are discontinued for a while and (almost) impossible to buy.
I bought this a few weeks ago but the store could not supply. I got my money back but that is not the issue.
    It’s a waste of time.
It’s like praising a live concert by….Elvis Presley
By the way, importing fragrances from the USA as I used to do is no longer an option for me here in the Netherlands. My last purchase about 2 years ago was upcharged with over 60% of import duties, even for the free transportation by DHL.
I have found this on a few Websites in the UK but they don’t offer shipping it abroad. Pfff

Beautiful fragrance! In my opinion it´s more about Bergamote 22. Great choice for Spring/Summer!

IMO, this is much closer to B22 than Mugler Cologne…and I love that about it!

Not at all, you’re not the first 🙂 Check out my review on Lalique White site!
I have all three fragrances (BM, Lalique W., Mugler C.), and I have to say BM smells like Lalique W. and absolutly not like Mugler Cologne.

  10. :

Errr… Am I the only one who actually thinks this smells a lot like Lalique White (and NOTHING like Neroli Portofino or Mugler Cologne?)

This is a natural stem of a floral smell. Different!!! Almost smell like a faint grape bubble gum scent. I definitely get a cucumber type of note, even though it is not listed. It does not need to be in your face, because it has a REAL aroma of a flower garden to the “T”.
It’s a floral without smelling synthetic and not being sweet. It is a crowd pleaser, unless you hate the smell of flowers.
It is like a real strong (meaning not watery like a body mist) unisex body stray, BUT stronger and subtle for pleasing the crowd. This is not cloying at all.
    8/10

First blast is euphoric! I was like “This is BETTER than Theiry Mugler Cologne!”
As it dries down the character changes to a slight marine-musk which is nice actually –but the opening vanishes–almost completely.
This was not expensive…I’m not complaining.
Happy to have this and will file this under “For General Usage & Layering Purposes” in my frag library.
P.S. Anyone that said this smells like Tom Ford Neroli Portofino needs to have their nose examined.

Personally I don’t think this smells like any of the above. What this is to me is an Eau de Cologne in the style of perennial warm weather favourites such as Issey Miyake, Acqua di Gio, and Bvglari Aqva. Bergamot on a slightly salty marine base, fleshed out with white florals with a fabric softener like quality. It’s actually quite well done and very likeable. I always wanted to like AdG and IM style fragrances, but found the sweaty/vinaigrette-like note at their hearts too annoying to enjoy, besides their ubiquity. Good stuff.

Such a beautiful creation!!! And no one heard about it, absolutely underrated.
A much much friendlier version of Escale a Portofino by Dior.
(Pierre Bourdon’s creations always deserve attention!)

I think, this is a very high quality fragrance, I tested some niche fragrances that include bergamot or neroli and I think Bergamotto Marino is definately similar to them / TF – Neroli Portofino, ADP – Bergamotto Di Calabria etc. /, some people doesn´t get great performance, others getting really great performance, I am in the second category, not a projection monster, but longevity on me is 10+ hours, and projection is average not poor, so if you have a luck Bergamotto Marino works really great, but novadays really hard to find. But on to the fragrance, the main player to me is the bergamot, then I got some neroli, and something fruity, mainly tart fruits / I guess it is the melon and blackcurrant / and a littlebit floral, it is a perfect summer fragrance, and it´s definately unisex, 9/10

For it to be an EDC the lonegevity is amazing. I give it 6 sprays and it easily lasts up to 6 hours. Believe me, you can’t overspray this one at all. A great spring floral/citrus scent that is very enjoyable. Similar to Mugler’s Cologne and Tom Ford’s NP. It maybe discontinued so if you see it at a good price, jump on it!!

  18. :

Jasmine, Lime, and Neroli in that order. Now, this can go two ways. If this becomes Lime heavy it becomes an excellent cologne for men. However, if the Jasmine dominates, it becomes decidedly feminine. Unfortunately for me, the later happened.
Make no mistake, whether this is masculine or feminine on you, the quality is unmistakeably excellent.

Not worth it. Performs so poorly. I liked the idea of this even though I don’t care for salty marine notes but this does not last on me. If you want something this weak go with 4711 or if you want a somewhat similar fragrance that performs go with Mugler Cologne. 🙂

I’m not very well read (or smelled) about fragrances, so I cannot comment on what other frag this smells like.
But, I can say that it smells like JASMINE. Holy mother of sweet black baby Jesus, this frag can give me a headache.
I had gotten a tester on ebay (blind buy again, it’s discontinued) after watching youtube reviewers rave about it, but a couple of sniffs on my skin and it was on its way back to the store.
Now I know I need to be careful around Jasmine-heavy frags.

being a big fan of Gianfranco ferre for man and reading about this one I decided to sample this one, a very nice light airy eau de cologne smell, bright with some soft floral tones, I smell a well blended fragrance that I think would work well in an office environment like I have.. some nice comments about just how pleasant it is… it is all of that. if you are a fan of atelier gran neroli or tom ford Portofino. I can definitely see the creed original vetiver as well. I enjoy all of the above. overall a very good bargain and you will smell well. whether male or female this fragrance will bode well for you. not sure I will purchase as I have gran neroli..but I may. price point right now makes sense. thumbs up. definitely worth a sniff and another great fragrance to wear in an office environment can’t imagine this being offensive to anyone around you. give it a try.

The best part of Bergamotto Marino is the drydown, it’s like a second-skin made of fresh jasmine flowers…anyway in the middle, along with the classic polished and clean citrusy notes (bergamot peel-neroli), there’s an annoying ozonic/salty accord typical of modern colognes for men that initially made me think about giving it away to a male friend… then I decided I can cope with the imitation of sea shore, which always sounds fake to me, since it fades away quite fast to let the jasmine bloom!
The lasting impression is that of a classic unisex citrusy cologne pushed on the flowery-soapy side. Best worn on summer days with white cotton.

At first spray, I really liked the scent. However, after a few wearings, I detect a sour note(from the melon?) in the composition which puts me off.

  25. :

This is a blind buy for me. With the friendly price tag, you can’t really lose much even if you don’t like it.
I’m always a fan of citrus/neroli fragrances. What I get from this frag is citrus, jasmin and melon with a pinch of salt. I’m not sure if I like the melon note which adds slight sweetness to the composition. Also, I just get this unpleasant ‘tap water’ note present through the whole life of this frag.
Overall, the price is unbeatable. It’s a nice scent for summer but there are better citrus/neroli frags.

Bergamomt Melon/Floral Amber/ Oakmoss Musk, In that oder. Similar to tb set sail fsb. Salty fruity soft frag. Melon is the main player here with the rest of the notes suporting it. Smells a little cheap but not bad. All the notes are well blended. Avarage to below avarage strenght. Overall a C+ for me. Id give it a B if it lasted longer.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

A “eau de cologne” very pleasant, with an output extremely citrus, and that can cause a strange feeling for the notes of melon also very evident. But in 10 minutes the equilibrium is established, the tone fruity, with a share of interesting blackcurrant, gives a tasty sensation together with floral aromas of jasmine and neroli. Great colony, comfortable clean and refreshing, good projection and longevity for a “eau de cologne”.

  28. :

If you like Bond No 9 Fire Island this is a must try for the price, they smell almost identical.

  29. :

I like this one a lot. At first I felt the dominant jasmine was a little annoying, but now, after a week of wearing, I am getting more of bergamot and melon notes. This fragrance is clean, transparent, and pleasant to wear on a daily basis, not for a special occasion. It is inoffensive and long lasting. Men or women, young or old, anyone can wear it. 8 out of 10.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I feel this is more masculine. All i get up top is a super clean soft bergamot note. A perfect after shower cologne. This might sound crazy but i can see this being ideal for a baby or an old guy

  31. :

    5 out of 5

Beautiful cologne at an affordable price. I love the fact that the citrus is very noticeable, yet it’s not the dominant note. I swear that I can smell lavender and rosemary in the top notes. Because of this, it reminds me so much of Acqua di Parma’s infamous Colonia, which is not cheap. In fact, I think Bergamotto Marino smells better than Colonia. The melon makes the cologne sweet, but it’s balanced by oakmoss. Melon is strong in this perfume, so please don’t even consider it if you dislike melon. I bought this blindly, and I’m glad I did! I am very pleased with longevity. Bergamotto Marino is a classic Italian cologne, perfect for daily use.
Update: I am picky about longevity and projection, and this scent was still gently wafting up to my nose 7-8 hours after application in the morning.

This masterpiece is essential for any spring summer wardrobe.
The bergamot is bright and clean but softened by the blackcurrant an melon. The fruit notes aren’t prominent but add a little sweetness (I too get the melon rind scent rather than a true fruit note which can so easily ruin a good scent). There’s not too much neroli here but more jasmine and a hint of fleshy lily of the valley.
All these notes dance perfectly over the warm amber mossy notes and this scent will last for hours on me. If you’re thinking of a blind buy I would definitely recommend this, especially if you find it at a bargain price.

Love it! It’s like nothing else I own. Very fresh. Lots of ambergris going on. Unusual and a great blind buy for me.

I got it today, very suprised to see the flacon its capped with a rubbercoating long tall bottle 200 ml and dark finished.
    Now the juice!
I sprayed a spritz on my arm, opens fresh and vibrant, just as i expected (and happy with it) first 10 seconds are combining ingredients citrus, floral, sour.
After a few minutes the drydown comes in and oh my… i really gonna love this one!
This upcoming spring/summer i will be wearing this much on sunny days!
Its classy and by all means a bit sporty but in a yachtclub kinda way.
Its a great fresh scent maybe one of the best fresh scents i sniffed in a long while! It captivates me and presents me a scenery i try to descibe here :IMAGINE :
Cote Azur,Cap Martin South France at the Italian border late 60’s…
In a yachtclub in the port all boats and luxury yachts are lined up in the blue waters.
In this port a little marketplace with stacked up crates of fresh fruits like bergamots and citrus fruits is openened my the marketmen in the morning when the sunrises for a nice summer day.
In front of the port some bars are openened to get breakfast outside , classy women with hats and big sunglasses and gentlemen in white linen suits reading the morning paper and drinking orange juice.
Then a mild seabreeze opens and gets past the yachts, marketplace and bar with people…this breeze will captivate this scent.
I love it! it divined me a great cologne with almost eau de toilette and parfum like sillage/longevity.
It also beats my review on sunday cologne by byredo. its better in my opinion
In my Top 5 for sure!

Finally! This is cologne done right! It is fresh, invigorting, subtle and balanced. I’d say this is its main charisma. Balance!
I can’t agree “Bergamotto Marino” is unisex. It is decidedly on the feminine side but it smells so nice you’ll eventually demand your right to wear it, no matter what!
If you are a male, that is. 😉

Excellent unisex offering form the house of Ferre. Notes listed are all in evidence to my nose except the melon, which is more of a salty rind smell, rather than the flesh of sweet melon. Lasted 7 hours or more on my skin. A terrific hot weather scent, in the same vein as Eau de Lalique and like that scent, it comes in a huge bottle so you can liberally apply.

  38. :

very very fresh and citrusy fragrance. Nice for daily use.,it doesn’t last long but you can spray it as much as you can, because the price is very reasonable
    longevity 7/10
    sillage 8/10
    scent 9/10
    my score 8/10

I love the clean scent of a fresh neroli and jasmine flowers on a mild and subdued undertone of light moss and bergamont. This reminds me of Raja Jasmine perfume from Arabia gifted to me by a dear friend. It was so amazing that I gave it to my mother knowing that this was her favorite scent. She is quite thrilled! Luckily, I found this for me. Great use after shower and before bedtime. In the morning, you can still faintly smell it.
I wish they have a concentree version. Thanks! Ferre

Aha, this one is one of those BAD ones, I’d love to argue with the nose but.. nose knows, u know, and it just closes the nostrils and doesn’t want to have anything intimate to do with this Gianfranco.

I get a predominant neroli/jasmine accord over an oakmoss-musk base. I’m very impatient to try it in the spring time!

I just bought it today for my brother’s birthday, fell in love with it at first sight! & I’m so happy to find out that it’s a unisex cologn, so… 😉

To my mind (and nose) this scent is perfect for early spring. Though it is also good for rainy days in summer.
On my skin it’s best in 1 hour after applying. Great heart of lily-of-the valley, spicy bergamot and jasmine dries down to fresh and mellow base. Good work.

I haven’t been liked any unisex fragrances before, this is first one and it’s pretty good. It do remind me (not close, but little) Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gaughe, one of my comfortable casual favourites, they do have many same notes too. Bergamot, jasmine and oakmoss in delightful way, somehow yammy and soft, but not sweet and too citrusy.
This one suits both men and women well, I like it on my man, my husband like it on me, so it’s a pretty good deal.
