The name is perfect for the first 20 minutes of this perfume. It “is” a Garden Dewdrop; wet and floral, light, bright, cool and effervescent all at once. The watery aspect isn’t sharp or chemical smelling, nor is it mildewy. Just fresh, dewy water; filled with the scent of flowers. It’s stunning. Alas it can’t stay, for those notes are only at the top. It melts into a lovely creamy lily. And like I’m noticing in the Vartan line, the supporting notes make their presence known without actually being present. I know the wateryness is the magic frisson of the cucumber with the ginger and violet. Just like I know the delectably creamy lily is due to the influence of the iris. But I don’t smell them. Just watery flowers and then creamy iris and then soft sandalwood. I say “just” but I don’t mean it to be dismissive; Garden Dewdrop is gorgeous from start to finish. Deceptively magnificent blending. And although I feel like I’ve smelled this idea before, it’s incredibly well done. Sillage is light, occasional small wafts; but the skin smells sooo fresh and lovely. It has moderate longevity; I could still comfortably smell it on myself after 5 hours, but I wasn’t throwing much projection anymore.

Very pretty!
Begins with green, moderately sweet freshness, thanks to the cucumber and violet (I barely get any ginger) and proceeds to a classic floral of the boudoir variety. Powdery, feminine, warm, and beautiful. The dry down has a lot more warmth than one would expect for a scent containing cucumber. Sandalwood and musk create a lovely base, of the comforting kind.
The most feminine of the Vartan perfumes I’ve tested. Has the same low sillage and moderately good longevity in all Vartan’s perfumes, along with her EXCELLENT taste. What good craftsmanship.
I should add that I have never, ever liked a perfume containing cucumber until now, and rarely those containing violet. Garden Dewdrop broke all my expectations with elegance and approachable beauty. Nothing aquatic or sour – just delightful!

This is a beautiful refreshing fragrance perfect for warm days. It opens in a sunny morning garden with watery drops still hugging the leaves from the night. A fresh cucumber note with a light ginger eminates from this special garden. The fresh lilly begins to spring through the opening and comes into bloom with violet as its close friend lending a lipstick note to the heart. Sandalwood grounds the base and iris continues the cool floral effect into the drydown.
It feels alive as if youve walked into Ms. Vartans secret garden. Stunning, beautiful and full bottle worthy. If you are bored with popular selections, look west to napa valley where mornings like this exist. A unique, realistic floral to add to anyones collection.
