Description

Joya team has produced sensual fragrances in hand cast porcelain bottles, with perfume wands dipped in 22 karat gold. In addition to the exquisite parfums, the collection also includes travel size parfums and indulgent, artisanal soaps with porcelain trays.

Composition No. 1, a luscious perfume oil housed in slipcast white porcelain
bottle with 22k gold dipped wand.

Top Note: sparkling citrus, including Italian mandarin, Brazilian orange, and fresh
quince.
Middle Note: rich florals featuring heliotrope petals, tuberose, jasmin, camellia and
Damask rose.
Dry Down: creamy sandalwood, pale musk and a hint of tonka bean.

Joya has always valued the element of surprise—and incorporated this admiration
into its range of products,” said Bouchardy. “It’s only fitting that we would offer
something as unexpected and, in many ways, anachronistic as a dyad of mysterious
perfume oils with ‘magic wands.’ For the packaging, we were inspired by the classics:
Arpege and even Helmut Lang. For the fragrances, we were inspired by our own
personal experiences and desires. Rayda Vega is the ‘nose’ behind them.

We decided to use perfume oil because it has a sensuous and lasting quality. It
interacts with a person’s chemistry and persists and transforms throughout the day
and night”.

Sarah Cihat designed the vessels for the collection and worked closely with
Bouchardy to create one-of-a-kind pieces for the parfums.

“Each piece is cast by hand and finished in New York. It’s a rather arduous process,
but every bottle truly is a work of art,” says Cihat. “Since they are all handmade—
cast, cleaned and fired—naturally, no two are exactly the same. And there are
imperfections. But this is what we love so much about this project and product—that,
while so many things are mass-produced and uniform, something as personal as
perfume is housed in a vessel that has been crafted by people. The gold-dipped wand
is especially decadent too.”

The design was inspired by the past: cut glass and round perfume bottles. Combining
these elements with a love for asymmetry found in nature results in a sheer
uniqueness of form. The bottle is small and precious like a soft stone in your hand.
There is this inherent warmth. It feels natural to hold.”

Composition No.1 is pleasant, safe, and reminds me of something you would use at a spa. I really do like it, smelling it makes me feel calm and content. Sillage is very soft, staying power is good, although it becomes a skin scent within an hour. I’m planning to try Foxglove next, here’s hoping I like it at least as much as No.1

Light, subtle fruity-floral, reminiscent of a high-end baby oil, or a sun screen lotion for kids. Don’t worry- there’s no Calone here. Joya’s Composition #1 smells botanical & natural.
There’s something *angelic* about this scent. If Raphael’s cherubs had a smell, they’d be wearing Composition #1.
Truth be told, I’m really after the _gorgeous_ porcelain container, that looks like a tumbled river-stone. Needed a way to ‘test the juice’ before committing to the $100+ container, and bought the roll-ons for Composition #1 and Foxglove. Foxglove wins, hands-down. If you haven’t tested Foxglove, go check it out. Happy Olfacting!

Yum. This is soft, sweet , and slightly gourmand. I don’t usually go for fruity florals, but there is nothing synthetic smelling in this. It lasts and lasts. It doesn’t go through phases like most perfumes, but that’s okay because it always smells fab. I ordered a rollerball and look forward to wearing it this summer and spring.

I don’t have anything remotely like this. This is so devine. Its so soft and feminine even though it is for men and women. I really can’t imagine a male wearing this.
I smell mostly the middle notes strongly and the base not4es in the background. I don’t sense the top notes too much. They seem jumbled.
Top notes are: Orange, Mandarin Orange, & Quince. Middle notes are: Jasmine, Tuberose, Heliotrope, Rose, & Camellia. The base notes are: Musk, Sandalwood, & Tona Bean.
Gorgeous and long lasting fragrance that is very warm and inviting. I wouldn’t find this to be offensive at all for the office or anywhere. It’s a bit pricey but I do believe this one is worth the price considering the scent and the exquisite bottle.

Just received the roll-on in the mail today. How pretty it is and on me it is very warm. It went straight to the base notes with some of the heliotrope and a little bit of jasmine. It is very different and I believe I will love using it all fall and winter, at which time I will probably want to splurge for the exquisite bottle, which is unique.

I thought this was incredible for an hour. I loved how seemingly unique it was (petitgrain). But honestly, the silliage is non-existant… disappears in an hour. As I learn more about perfume, I love when things change and surprise… and this falls flat.

Just looking at the notes, I would have guessed Joya FvsS No. 6 would be my favorite of the two Joya perfume oils. I bought samples of both at the same time and to my great surprise, Joya FvsS No. 1 has captured my heart.
Yes, it’s a fruity-floral, but the fruits here are tart citrus fruits instead of synthetic fruit punch, and the flowers steal the show about 90 minutes in. As the previous reviewer noted, it has amazing longevity, and those last woody musk notes linger for hours.
I thought a fruity-floral scent couldn’t show me anything new. I thought perfume oils couldn’t get such “lift” in the top notes. I kept sniffing my arm in amazement. No. 1 proves me wrong and reminds me that there are still so many wonderful scents waiting to be discovered, and waiting to be created!
A warm, slightly sweet, comforting and ultimately happy scent that transcends season, age and category. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to see what this house has in store for the future.

    Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious.
    This is INCREDIBLE….
If I had the money I would have bought it on the spot. This was dipped on a Q tip in the afternoon and I’ve been smelling it ALL NIGHT LONG. It changes throughout the day but it remains strong. The first thing you smell is petitgrain and lemon mixed with tuberose and then throughout the night, you start getting a sense of jasmine and rose. This is extremely MOOD ENHANCING, UPLIFTING, and enjoyable. I am just totally in love with it.
