Description

The Essence Collection presents a perfume trio that reflects the essences of gem stone colors. These are the new perfumes: Exotic Essence, Fresh Essence and Delicate Essence. The trio awakens the emotions of three different colored gemstones – pink tourmaline, peridot (lime green) and citrine (golden yellow). All three compositions were developed by perfumer Harry Fremont of Firmenich, who also signed the first edition of the house.

Fresh Essence is a sparkling floral-fruity fragrance packaged in a peridot-colored bottle. It opens with notes of apples, cassis, red fruits and fresh greens. The heart consists of rose, peony and water lily and the base features gentle musk, cashmere and cedar.

The Essence Collection is launching in February 2011. The fragrances will be available as EDT in bottles of 100 ml as limited and exclusive editions.

Erreuno for ladies perfume had a better take on a black currant peony wood combo.
This perfume reminds me of a scrapyard in summer.
An old scrapyard next to a graveyard after a funeral in the rain.
Could anybody tell why would perfumes smell like metallic rusty somethings?

I saved it’s sample to try it in a warm spring day and I like it.I won’t rush to buy it but if I find a good deal or if someone offer it in a swap,I’ll add it to my collection
I expected not to like this one as I usually don’t like waterlily and sour blackcurrant and red berries, I also dislike aquatic and green scents but fresh essence isn’t aquatic on my skin and green notes aren’t herbal or grassy.there’s just a hint of them and they appear more as deep, calming scent of tea which I love
Fruits are sweet and make it youthful and girly.I can pickup red apple, which sometimes mimic ripe pear and black current which is fortunately sweet.I really enjoyed it’s sweet sparkly fruity top notes but I like it’s middle and base even more.it becomes more floral and I love combination of peony and rose with this sweet fruity notes.indeed very youthful and lively.it’s not too fresh but is an instant mood lifter for me
It becomes even less fruity as it dries down and a light, clean and very pleasant musk appears.this combination of musky peony and sweet apple is very appealing to me(I can also detect a vivid magnolia note! Are they sure there’s waterlily in it not magnolia?
It smells clean in a shampoo way but I can’t say it exactly smells like shampoo because of it’s sweetness
It reminded me something and suddenly it came to my mind.it’s like a cousin of Britney spears curious.the same shampooyee magnolia, pear thing but fresh essence is more colorful, less white floral thanks to presence of rosey peony and various fruits
It stays for 4 hours on my skin which is good.sillage is loud in the opening, soon gets moderate
I enjoyed it more than my expectation.there’s nothing unique or ground breaking here but this doesn’t stop me liking it.it’s better for below 35 IMO
If I find it for 30$ or less I’d definitely buy it

I really hope this perfume smells more like a fragrance and less like a toilet spray……..

I found this on clearance at TJMaxx for $8.00. I always look online for fragrance reviews. As I read there were mixed reviews but decided to buy it anyway. I must say that I do like this fragrance. It’s not over powering. The dry down is a soft, daytime, spring like scent. I like the opening scent better but it’s a nice smell and for the $8.00 spent, not a bad investment.

Found this on sale, blind purchase. I find this to be OK, not stellar. If you are old enough to remember the original Agree shampoo, you would probably smell the similarity. If you like green tea scents, this is way weaker but the same idea.
Update: Use lightly on a hot day. This is way more chokingly floral than I originally thought. Straight up old-fashioned floral. If you like EA Fifth Ave. or Splendor this is for you.
Alfred Sung Shi is in the same category as this.

If you like this fragrance but want or need a Burberry fragrance added to your collection, then try My Burberry EDT.

Just got this at Neiman Marcus (sale), one of the employees was wearing this and I LOVED IT! She walked by and I was like “What are you wearing”?! It is MARVELOUS! It smells fresh and clean but gorgeous sparkling clean.
I read some of the reviews and ill be honest. If you’re buying this perfume at some off brand place you’re not going to get the authentic product. We all know when you buy things at Walmart or other places like that you obviously do NOT get the authentic product. If you pay a cheap price for David Yurman perfume you can be sure it’s probably watered down or it’s not the real version. All I’m saying is don’t expect an authentic Hermès bag for 29.99.
The reason I say this is because this perfume is AMAZING! Cheap? I think not. I’m a huge fan of Cabotine Rose and I absolutely adore this perfume! I also layer these two due to the similar notes. When combined it makes for an amazing scent. Every time I wear either of these or layer them together I get compliments.
The funny thing about this perfume is that I can’t stand apple type perfumes. Normally I am repulsed by apple top notes. The lily knocks it right out. I can’t tell you how much I adore this scent.

This is a scent you save for a rainy day. No, I’m not kidding. It smells like Rain! CLEAN Rain!

Blind buy at Shoppers for $17.99 for 100ml. Wow, mild soapy ,green, and pleasant. So pleased when I get deals! Nothing extraordinary, but easy to wear anywhere.

YUCK! Bought it blindly at TJ maxx for $29.99 and subsequently rewrapped it carefully and returned it for a refund ASAP. I normally don’t go for fresh scents but I took a chance since it was a higher end perfume and I tend to have better luck with the pricy stuff (too bad I’m poor) and I have to say HECK NO to it, this doesn’t even come off as remotely Fresh to me…… It smells like pine, christmas trees, and chopped up cedar wood mixed together…if that normally smells good on you go for it, but on me it pretty much smelled like hamster and gerbil litter. It reminded me of being out in the snow in the mountains. I did not get any fruity smell from it. It took two soapy showers to get the smell off my arm as one spray was very strong. Smells a bit like the green colored, glass cylinder shaped Cartier perfume. But his Summer Essence smelled decently good though when I smelled it in store a few months back…

Fresh Essence surprised me. I thought this would be a boring watery floral, due to the good price and cheap looking cap. However, I find it to be a soft, soothing, slightly sweet, fresh floral, and not as green as expected. The notes are blended well here, so there is no really prominent note of anything. Water lily sometimes smells sharp and cold on me, but not here. I can smell sweet apple, musk, and subdued florals. I’m not picking up berries of any kind. It’s nothing too unusual, but it is pretty, and I’m enjoying wearing it.

Blind bought it at Marshall’s on clearance for only $15. I can’t pass up a bargain. Reviews here were decent so I took a chance. Smells good, I like it a lot. It’s pretty simple. It’s a safe, non offensive scent that you can wear anywhere. It’s fresh and clean, fruity and floral. I wore it to church today for the first time and kept smelling something clean and fresh. I thought it was someone else and looked around, then realized it was me! lol..that always makes me smile when I do that. Give it a try, I think anyone would like it.

David Yurman’s Fresh Essence is a surprisingly bold scent, not nearly as fresh as I expected it to be. Luckily this fragrance works for me and is easily one of my favourite apple scents.
In comparison to DKNY’s Be Delicious, Fresh Essence has a more crisp and watery apple note, which thankfully doesn’t smell too synthetic. The apple is further supported by a refreshing water lily note, which provides that crispness that I tend to crave on hot Summer days.
The heart of blackcurrant and apple maintains Fresh Essence’s juicy feel, with the peony and rose adding a soapy, floral touch. Throughout this fragrance’s development it becomes more and more soapy and green.
I blind bought this fragrance some time ago, and unfortunately I received my very first fake. I caution others to think twice about purchasing cheap David Yurman scents. His jewellery is often faked, and not surprisingly so are his fragrances. Thankfully I got a full refund and have since acquired a sample of Fresh Essence to see what I missed out on.
As I mentioned previously, Fresh Essence has outstanding sillage, and the longevity is not bad either. If you enjoy crisp apple notes and the odd water lily accord, do check this fragrance out. It has left me feeling more than impressed.

Awfully simple, but pleasant enough for summery weather. Nothing exciting. Soft. Doesn’t last long. Definitely not worth $85.00.

Fresh, upbeat, playful, fun, light-hearted, green, outdoorsy but could wear well indoors. This is a great signature fragrance for those of us that like a slightly “green” fragrance.
This is very similar to the David Yurman original scent but it smells as if someone has fine tuned the high note and has sanded it down where it is less strong and arrives more in a bouquet of fresh florals, rather than hitting you with a strong high note!
I like this. With my chemistry, this is very fresh – and I have a sense that this is similar to my favorite Cabotine fragrance, which is a great one to wear when I am doing something outdoors with my dogs – or just enjoying a lighter fragrance day, than wearing something that has a stronger presence.
This is the type of fragrance that would wear well to an outdoor bistro, park, walk at the beach, walking the dogs, or going to the gym after another event. This is much less invasive than some other fragrances that would be way too over powering in outdoor settings or at the gym.
I’m trying all five of the David Yurman fragrance and this may be my very favorite, after the first couple of hours of wear. I like it because it is in the same family as Cabotine, very fresh, clean, and slightly green.
With my chemistry, this goes on very complex and smells more like a bouquet of flowers – rather than a single note. With my chemistry, this smells complex and upper end, while at the same time is not offensive and overly strong and overbearing. Love it!
    —————
Comparing David Yurman Fresh Essence to Cabotine, in theory – they are both green, light, and fresh – but in practice (actually spraying the two on your arm at the same time where you can compare the two side by side) they are very different (and enough “different” to justify having both of them in your fragrance wardrobe, if you are the type that likes the green/fresh fragrances). DY’s Fresh Essence smells like the base and alto chords of the full bodied Cabotine fragrance. Cabotine is lifting off the skin, quite a bit more. Cabotine is hitting a much higher note, in the upper alto/lower soprano range – than Fresh Essence by DY. Both could be worn as a “signature scent”. You could wear Fresh Essence for your business side – and wear Cabotine as your more playful side.
David Yurman Fresh Essence whispers after about 30 minutes of wear… where as Cabotine has more volume and leaps off the skin quite a bit more. I like both fragrances. They each have their own personality. Both are great if you love fragrances with a FRESH/GREEN note.

Soapy, simple, and not so green. Comes off as cheap, IMHO.

To add to Sweetnspicey’s review that this smells like “something found at T.J.Maxx for $19.99,” of course it does Perry Ellis 360! On first spray the top notes were loud &scary, as in is this going to give me a headache? But also very familiar, took me all of 5 mins to recall 360, get out my tiny bottle and start summarizing notes. Top notes on Fresh Essence: Apples, “berries” & “green” on 360: melon & “green”. Middle notes on FE: rose, peony, water lily on 360: rose, lily & lotus a.k.a. “water lily “. Base notes on FE: musk & cedar on 360: musk & sandalwood. 360 is a much more complex scent. David Yurman’s Fresh Essence is like the most recent starlet on E! Tonight. Top heavy, thin, loud &attention seeking, but after the loud entrance you forget she’s even there because she has nothing to say. There’s nothing wrong with the composition and on the right skin, I’m sure it will smell lovely, but I’d wait until the price goes down. For my money I’ll stay with a light application of the Sophia Grojsman classic genius & be just fine.
    Regards, Marie1846.

Fresh is my favorite among the three “Essence” perfumes. It is fresh without being green or citrusy. In fact it has quite a perfumey smell. The lasting power however, is lacking, no more than 3-4 hours. Sillage is poor as well. Otherwise, I like the smell very much!

Although I often find green-colored perfumes problematic, FRESH ESSENCE ended up being my favorite of the David Yurman Essence Collection. This is a simple yet pleasing soapy green composition. I agree with sweetnspicy that this not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it smells good to me, and the quality seems higher than the scents of this type launched by celebrities and other designers.
This creation reminds me a bit of some of the Salvatore Ferragamo SSRI fruity floral perfumes. The difference is, again, that the quality of the components is higher, so there is less variability in the outcome. I don’t feel that I have to be lucky to wear this one successfully, which is however the case
for some of the INCANTO series flankers…
I have enjoyed my generous sample vial of FRESH ESSENCE and recommend it for testing by those who appreciate soapy green perfumes!

I like this perfume, but it’s another one that I feel has been done so many times before. The scent is kind of aquatic and fruity. It’s nice for springtime and possibly for the beach if coconutty scents are not your thing. I do like the soft, musky drydown, but overall this perfume reminds me of the kind of thing I would expect to find at TJ Maxx for $19.99.
