Description

Escada’s limited editions specially designed for the summer season annually surprise us with a new floral – fruity fragrance composition in a fun, colorful packaging. For the 2017 season, the new edition Fiesta Carioca is announced, which was preceded by Born in Paradise (2014), Turquoise Summer (2015) and Agua del Sol (2016). The new edition marks the 25th anniversary of Escada summer releases.

Escada Fiesta Carioca is designed as a “cocktail of passion” and a summer party inspired scent of exotic fruits and flowers on a woody – musky background. Its fresh and fruity top notes of passion fruit, red raspberry and violet leaf cross into the floral heart of passion flower, orange blossom and jasmine. The base notes blend musk, cedar and benzoin.

The fragrance will be available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

A nice, sweet, fruity scent. Great for younger girls as well as anyone who likes fun scents. Not cloying. Has surprising sillage for a fruity perfume. This isn’t one of those perfumes that’s impossible to overspray, so that I guess that’s a positive point in its favor. I got a 100ml bottle for $25, so be sure to check ebay.

Bought a 100 ml. bottle of this one, so happy I did! I really love it, it’s fresh, sweet and juicy 🙂 Very “happy” scent, which I like my perfumes to be 🙂

I usually love the summer editions of Escada; however, this one as well as Agua del Sol were serious disappointments. There is a harsh note at the end of each of them that I despise on me (I think it’s the musk), and it completely ruins the other lovely notes in the fragrances. I wanted to enjoy the passion fruit and raspberry in this one, and the musk was just gross. BRING BACK IBIZA HIPPIE AND TROPICAL PUNCH! Pass on this one.

This came by mistake when I was expecting a totally different fragrance from a subscription service and I was so very disappointed as this wasn’t even a ‘premium’ item. They sent out what I ordered and finally I gave this a sniff, expecting to hate it.
It is really not bad at all! Not something I would have picked, but the jammy tropical fruit plus a little musk are actually quite springy and nice in a fresh body spray sort of way. It’s got a nice sillage without being too loud or cloying and, if you like matching products, smells a lot like the dry hair oil spray from herbal essences.

Tested this in Ulta and initially was not impressed. To me it was the typical of many Escada frag’s: synthetic first blast. After about 15 minutes, this settled into a fruity, little bit sweet, fragrance, similar to many other Escada fragrances. I thought, pass!!
BUT…as the day wore on, I kept getting whiffs of this, and yes, it is still mainly a fruity sweet fragrance, but it is FUN!!! Fresh and fruity and a little sweet. I can’t really pick apart the specific notes, this is more about the accords for me: “sweet..fruity..tropical..sour (not really, maybe a tad)..and fresh”..not necessarily in that order. 😉
I ended up ordering a small bottle of this online (I did not want/need the big huge bottle that Ulta has, and Ulta does not have a smaller one online). The bottle is also just cute and fun and Summery and kind of makes me smile. I’m probably not really Escada’s target age for this at the ripe old age of 47, but I do enjoy fun Summery fresh type of scents now and then. And I am willing to wait through the hour or two until this dries down to that fun, summery, fresh scent. Fun!! Wear what you want, when you want!! 🙂

Got it at the Christmas sales and all winter that scent lingered around me. Fiesta Carioca has cheesy name but the perfume itself is stunning. Initial notes are raspberry jam, later it calms down to velvety floral musk (I truly sense rose) and vanilla. I guess I can feel benzoin as well. With time it becomes even sensual, it’s for sure fruity too, because it’s Escada, but there’s something like blast from the past, that red musky fruit so common around 1999-2000, in the vein of Versace Red Jeans.

WHOAAAAAAAA! Hold up!!!!! I’m not understanding the comparison to Pacific paradise…. ???? Pacific paradise was one of the best releases Escada did IMO, This one I don’t care for AT ALL… Mainly because, to me, this reminds me of a fruitier Versace crystal noir which I loathe. The dry downs are similar to my nose…

Escada Spring/Summer perfumes are truly my guilty little pleasure because I’m a grand lover of fruity, sweet floral fragrances.
It´s a pretty little symphony of sweet fruity floral notes that’s girlish, pretty, and perfectly light and fresh for Spring and Summer.

Nothing special, this smells like Organix’s Cherry Blossom Shampoo!!!

Juicy , fruity, typical passion fruit, smells like million other things, it is girly and unremarkable, pleasant, with poor lasting power and silage. The bottle is adorable . It retains the childhood innocence , with its juicy flavour and candy like aftertaste.
If you like passion fruit and you find it on sale , definitely worth it, I think it’s perfect for gym, playgrounds, etc. Refrrsahing, non offensive , clean , soft. However , paying full price for this is not something I would do. Still, it reminds me of a time when I didn’t have stress or worries, so I like it. A lot.

The bottle’s color matches the scent, its sweet but alittle green to me, I could tell theres something leafy in here. Its a fruit fest in your face like most by Escada, but if Im in the mood I can stomach it. I cant love it as much as Born in Paradise tho. I only have two others by Escada, this is less sour/sweet than Taj Sunset, less “sunny”, it feels like im under the shade of a beach tree. Its sweet and abit sour. When i first tried it among other scents it stood out the most and projects like crazy on me. If I overspray tho it makes me nauseous. I was in love at first, not so much now but ill still keep it cuz its quite unusual for me and contains notes that i love, also like the drydown. Its intense tho, def not for everyone. Glad it doesn’t remind me of cough syrup tho. If you like it go for it, dont mind the bad reviews. Its not too sophisticated, its for lil skirt, crop top outfits and breezy summer nights.
Update: This really blooms in chilly weather (60-70 where I live). Doesnt make me dizzy at all. It smells green and candy-like sour, the sweetness is toned down. At times I forget I wear perfume and the wind transfers the scent to me and I think “what in the world smells so divine!?” and start sniffing myself lol Oh yea Fiesta Carioca. I can say I love it now and to me its special. Sillage and longevity are very good.

Fully agree with JetsBabe, this literally smells like cough syrup or maybe some weird, intense – not to mention – disgusting liquor. Not much else to say about this, just that it’s.. not that great to me. Funny, because I tested Agua Del Sol at about the same time I first tested Fiesta Carioca, and I actually kinda liked Agua Del Sol.

It is a very nice fruity-sweet fragrance that smells a lot like passionfruit with a touch of a soury raspberry. It is not the best they have come out with but it is very nice none the less and I find myself reaching out for it on the daily.

  16. :

    5 out of 5

This is disappointing. Every weird name Escada has now (aka agua del sol/fiesta Carioca) doesn’t smell that great. I suppose out of these, fiesta is the worst.
The passionfruit is very prominent, and sadly makes this smell like Pepto-Bismol or cough syrup. It just smells weird as hell. This smells nothing like Pacofic Paradise or Moon Sparkle since those are fresh/crisp.
Conversely, this smells weird and makes me a little nauseous. Escada hasn’t done well lately.

First Escada summer perfume that I dislike. It seems I got the other side of the coin for every aspect. Some smell fruity bubble gum, I smell putrid fruit. Some say light, to me it’s a watered down fruity mess. I usually love passion flower and passion fruit in perfumes and I was looking forward to trying this one, but I cannot detect these at all.
Hopefully Escada will get it better next year, starting with the name.

I tried this yesterday, and I really like it.
It´s the scent that makes me think of my childhood family hollidays, with my family. If I´ve had the money, I would have bought it.

A mixed review! Lets us start with the wonderful, it smells like yay summer 2017 is here!!
The opening is playful, fresh, dewy, youthful and simply mouth watering. Cannot get enough of it, which is a great sign of an effective summer fragrance. Try spraying ‘too much’.. it is almost impossible to do which I love! I also sense the unlisted guava note another reviewer has mentioned.
Heart notes? Base notes?….. They are almost non existent on me. After the opening, it appears to vanish without a trace. Perhaps it does this because of my skin chemistry. Neither Born in Paradise, Turquoise Summer nor Agua Del Sol does this to me. Island Kiss and Rockin Rio also goes on forever on my skin.
Do I still love it? Yes I do!!! I do love it! I wish it stayed a little bit longer… but then again… if it did… I would not be able to reapply as often as I wanted to! So the verdict is, beautiful summer fragrance that allows you opportunities to reapply, refresh and restart.

Just came back from a trip and friend was wearing this. I came home and purchased!!! We don’t live in same city. Don’t usually do that but……… Lovely. Fresh, playful, summery. Just what is needed in warm weather. I got the lotion, also.

I agree that it is the same as sunset heat.
I seem to have outgrown Escadas now as they are fun/flirty/fruity frags , great for summer…But they just smell extremely sythentic, and chemical fake fruits. They are just a little too ” teenage” for my 40yrs old self now.
But good fun. And beautiful tropical scene on the box.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

When I first sprayed this, I thought it smelled exactly like all the other Escada summer frags and kind of shrugged. I like their summer fragrances (though there was one that was very strawberry heavy that was “ick” for me), but the variety just isn’t there.
The reason I want this one then when I have others so close to it from the same collection? The drydown. The one thing that varies in the summer collection no matter how close they are superficially is the way each one ends up sitting with the skin. This is a warm and sexy frag at heart, despite its playful beginnings. Kind of the way we wish summer romances would end up sometimes, right? I don’t want to buy a full bottle of this, but the travel size is calling my name for a summer fling!

This Escada Fiesta Carioca is Escada Sunset Heat repackaged in a new bottle. When I first sprayed it on, I knew I had this scent already. I sprayed sunset heat on one hand and fiesta carioca on the other and both scents were identical and the there were no differences in scents. It seems like each new Escada release are so similar to each other and they just tweak a note here and there. I love Sunset heat so I didn’t mind the identical scents I jus
t expected a new fragrance. I’m glad I didn’t pay that much for it.

Like last year, Escada went with a different language name, so I went back to google translate. ‘Festa Carioca’ and ‘Fiesta Carioca’, both mean the same thing in Portuguese; Rio Party. That said, I’m 99% sure that the former of those two, is the correct spelling…..
Name aside though, I found this perfume to be a tropical fantasy. The passionfruit and raspberry are both incredibly noticeable, the violet leaf is like a fresh breeze on the beach. I love Escada fragrances, I’ve smelled many before and they always stand out from the others on the market. Stunning perfume with a great colour scheme on the bottle!

while looking for a fragrance for my mum today, i stumbled upon this new beauty in the department store. With the new season and the weather getting warmer, i want to start exploring new fragrances and finding new likes, and loves in my fragrance collection. This fragrance is absolutely gorgeous! It is youthful, energetic, and fun. Like most Escada fragrances, this perfume is like a vacation/ summer in a bottle. I can’t wait to get my hands on a bottle and use it through out spring and summer. I can already tell this will be perfect for a fun filled summer with lots of nice summer memories. It’s a nice tropical fruity smelling fragrance.
I cant wait to start using this alongside my summer go to L’Imperatrice, and Gucci’s Gorgeous Gardenia 🙂 x

Lasts precisely three hours on my skin, then it’s just gone. It doesn’t fade, it’s gone. A developing perfume, fruity for the most part, but not gourmand. Firstly it’s bubblegum sweet, then like a lolipop and fresh at the same time. Has an aquatic watery feeling somewhere inbetween notes. Vaguely sweet, not cloying at all.
Thirty minutes after spraying it dries into a sweet sweaty skin, with the fruit. It’s not appaling or anything, but it’s definitely there, pay attention…it’s the summery sweat we have when having fun at the beach and under the sun. Very juicy with a sweaty undernote.
It’s summer, sea, drinks at the beach bar, flirting here and there, tiny winy polka dot bikinis, lipgloss, you know, the youthful, the carefree…but it lasts so little time!

My girlfriend really digs escada summer scents and i think they suit her very well, this scent however caught me a little bit by surprise. To me this perfume smells very “sparkly” or “fizzy” which is a great quality of it. I do not find it to be to sweet because of the other transparent notes. If this included heavy rose and denser notes i think my opinion about headaches would be different.
Great youthful, sparkly summer scent for younger women.
    7/10

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Extremely sweet and juicy. Smells like tropical fruit juice or syrup. Not the worst scent, but not my preference either. All the Escada’s summer releases are like that, but this one seems even more sweet and syrupy to me than many others. I think it’s more childish too.
Suitable for sunny and warm summer day if you only dose a little bit.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

To me it smelled the entire time like guava bubble gum, even though there is no guava note.
Don´t get me wrong, it is quite pleasant, just a bit oversweet sometimes, but overall a nice fragrance.
I come from Rio and this perfume didn´t made me think of my home town, instead it reminded me of sunny country towns in the hinterlands of Brasil. To me, it also doesn´t have a party vibe, it is more like a relaxing feeling, like a walk in the tropical countryside in summer.
I wouldn´t buy this perfume for me, but i think it is a good fragrance. It would be nice for someone who wants a calm tropical fragrance.
It sits close to the skin and longevity is 4 hours.
P.s: Brasil doesn´t speaks spanish. The name of the perfume shouls be Festa Carioca, instead of Fiesta carioca. A fail for the marketing team.

The best summery Escada for couple of years. It’s tropical, light, refreshing, not too sweet, quite fruity, playful and absolutely lovely! I would call it – charm of youth in a bottle.
Update: A bit too fruity for me though.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

Wow! So sweet and fruity! Passion fruit and sugary raspberry work so well together here. This is a fruit explosion. Almost too much to handle that I’m not sure I could wear it all day. It does soften up a little and it’s lovely.

  33. :

I think that the Escada people (working for the label) have a big yellow Post-it note in front of them whilst brainstorming on the newest summer frag, saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Let’s take a colourful bottle, some tropical fruits and mix them with flowery notes and voila, here we have a typical Escada summer scent. Once again.
The 2017 edition seems to be very sweet, inoffensive, youthful and summery concoction. And I don’t necessarily mean to say this in a bad way. Don’t we all need casual frags like this that are well suitable for everyday occasions? I don’t need a crystal ball to say that FC will be a definite sales success around the world this spring and summer.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

Alright, first half of the notes I don’t get, this is a typical juicy fruity fruit salad, Escada style, that one has a new name, but the juice is like the others…maybe this is more tropical..but I dont get the floral notes, nor do I get any particular note to tell you the truth…like a mix amd match of other Escada scents.
Fun, summery, not much there !!!

  35. :

    4 out of 5

I always get so excited when I see the new escada scent somewhere because ya know summer isn’t too far away lol so when I stumbled upon this I was super excited! Of course, as always the case, I love this! My gawd I love the perfumes they put out. This is so fun, and summery girly fruity sweet fun etc etc it’s nothing unbelievable or groundbreaking but it’s that summer fun in a bottle. Hoping to buy one soon!!! If you typically like the scents that escada puts out, this won’t disappoint!

  36. :

    5 out of 5

Straight away I get strong notes of coconuts, mangos and berries. The perfect tropical summer scent! I’d like it to last abit longer on my skin but I wouldn’t mind reapplying this delicious scent!

  37. :

    4 out of 5

This smells fun and fruity …the bottle is cute too..a good summer scent..thats what its supposed to be..celebrating Escada’s summer tradition…so I’m confused by so many negative reviews not sure what everyone was expecting

  38. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t like clicking “dislike.” I’m sure there was thought and effort put in to creating this new fragrance, and I don’t want to diminish that. But here’s the thing: Fiesta Carioca smells cheap. I’m not saying it’s unpleasant – as a matter of fact, it smells just like the bottle of fruity dish soap sitting on the side of my kitchen sink. I wouldn’t buy a dish soap I didn’t like, so the scent itself can’t be too bad, right?
Except that a perfume isn’t supposed to smell like the last time I scraped dried up sauce out of the inside of a pot. While notes of raspberry, violet and passionflower sound promising, they ultimately end up jumbled together in a cocktail of sweet and sour that doesn’t belong on skin (or at least not on my skin). Musk and cedar? You can forget about it. The dry down smells like bubblegum. Massive, neon pink cubes of bubblegum that lose flavour after 2 minutes or 200 chews.
It’s really too bad. I love so many Escada summer scents, and look forward to them every year. I love the bottle colours of pink and green and was thrilled to see them on this new one, but it just isn’t worth it to spend all that money solely for a cute bottle.

I really like this. I love the smell of passion fruit and passion flower. Add some musk and raspberry candy, and you have this. This is based on the top notes tho. I haven’t really smelled the drydown.
This fragrance reminds me of being a teenager, and this is the kind of scent alot of girls wore back then. Happy times.

I am fortunate to have a friend who still works in the industry and he receives a lot of free bottles whenever there is a new release (which is every week now, pretty much). So we literally have boxes full of bottles sitting around between the both of us. Fiesta Carioca is one of those bottles he presented to me and since I like fruits and cheap tacky smells, I said, yeah, I’ll give it a try.
I did. I was immediately insulted for people who will go out and spend more that $20 on this. The previous night I had washed my hair with a cheap combo of Herbal essence shampoo/conditioner that smelled vaguely of orangey/peachy sweet tropical notes. This is exactly what this perfume smells like. Some cheap fruity tropical shampoo functional scent. There is a faint vanilla conditioner dry down. To say there are florals in there is quite a stretch. No need to say, this bottle will go straight into one of our “rejects” box. haha Poor bottle.
I’m appalled at how much they charge for this. Get a Parfums de coeur or Calgon body spray instead. They are better and stronger!
I clicked dislike, not because this stinks but because I want to help people decide NOT to go out and buy this. Seriously. Don’t. Keep your money!
    Escada is dead.

Given a sample of this, not my choice of sample, but I will review it.
Pineapple juice in syrup, then after 15 minutes, burnt vanilla cookies. Oh my, the feeling to scrub it is overwhelmingly intense.
I’ll wait to give it a fair shot.
30 minutes: The scent? She is magically gone. But it may resurface again. I’ll wait.
1 hour: sickly sweet syrup. Scrubbing it and goodnight.

  43. :

I usually enjoy the Escada LEs for what they are – fun, easy, mood-lifting vacations in a bottle. Some I enjoy more than others but, I don’t mind this genre at all. With that said, this was by far the only one I felt the need to scrub off. All I’m getting is an artificial berry bubblegum. No tart fruit, no florals, just cheap and sickeningly sweet bubblegum.
And as others have mentioned – it’s “festa” for goodness sake!

  44. :

Top notes were great, real nice. Drydown not so much, got a bit headachey. So not for me.

  45. :

Tested this today, it smells of warm fruity sticky scented rum.I wasn’t blown away it smells of a cheap summer fruity sticky tropical body mist, I would not really call this one a perfume. Makes for a safe gift for someone under 16. I can’t see many people older than this really appreciating this for work or romance etc. It isn’t worth the money as you can get similar huge body mists for under £10 that smell like this. I get zero musk and lately I have been obsessed with musky scents, the musk definitely is not pronounced in this one. Best part is the bottle- I like the colour.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I tried this n its nice and fresh n fruity at first ….then it drysdown…a bad fruit musky note…..kinda cheap smelling later on. Cherries in the air is better.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

Just got a sample of this and it’s not too shabby! I smell a sour tartness mixing in equal parts with tropical sweetness right off the bat that I assume is the raspberry, passionfruit and passionflower coming together in a nice cocktail. I’m getting some vague muskiness also, but I don’t get anything definitive other than tropical tartness and I actually like it much better than any of the recent summer releases from Escada, especially Agua Del Sol which falls completely flat and dull on my skin. This one is at least standing out, so while I wouldn’t go for a full bottle (unless I can find one at TJ Maxx for a song), I wouldn’t mind getting a rollerball of it to stash in my purse for a lift during the winter time.

    23. November 2016
“Celebrating 25 years of Escada summer editions” or something like this is written on the box. So for 25th anniversary they even didnt bother to put more effort into bottle design (why bother? People will buy it anyway). Thats the first dissapointment. The second one comes with the scent itself: absolutely nothing new, typical tropical fruity bubble gummy, its like a mix of Tuqoise summer and Rockin Rio. Im honestly dissapointed. Its pretty yes, its girly and fruity but i would love love love to smell something bit different than what i have smelled many years in row for now. I will buy a bottle anyway as i do every year but only for collective purposes and will hope that next year they will release something better and more original than this.

Well, the bottom half of the world is getting into summer now.. so it’s really not that crazy for them to launch a summer fragrance this time of the year.

  53. :

I’m not so excited about this one. Notes sound usual for fruity-floral, except maybe benzoin. I wish they could move from that simplicity and release something new and inspirational for summer. And that comes from somebody that loves their LE fragrances.
