Description

Calvin Klein‘s Eternity (1988) and Eternity for Men (1989), symbols of eternal love and romantic relationships, will receive new intensive reinterpretations Eternity Intense and Eternity for Men Intense in December 2016. The new fragrances are made with a touch of “sensual and rare” iris flower. The Eternity Intense duo represents “love that has turned into something more powerful – a passionate and unbreakable connection.”

Eternity Intense for women reportedly intensifies the opulent floral composition of the originals, with energetic aquatic and additional floral notes. Iris gives it elegance and power, laid on the warm base of vanilla.

Model Christy Turlington and her husband Ed Burns are chosen again to represent the line. Eternity Intense is available as a 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ooooh, I love this one! Reminds me of Guerlain and Chanel at the same time! Very, very elegant! Eternity? No… not at all. Class? You bet! Iris for the GAWDS, honey.

So disappointed once again. I started wearing Eternity for women back in 1990 or maybe a little before and it was the best smell humanly possible. Years later I bought a new bottle and it was not at all the same as I remembered it. I figured out what was missing mostly was the green notes that made it so beautiful back then. It’s as if they took everything great out of Eternity and left us with some shell just enough to remember what it used to smell like for a second. The Vintage eternity also lasted all day long. What they’re selling now as eternity doesn’t last an hour. Anyway enough complaining but I’ve been on a mission for a long time to find something that smells like it. I thought I was going to get lucky with this. Why not bring back real eternity and call it eternity intense? Makes perfect sense. Of course that’s not what they did. I don’t understand. Where has the Beautiful special eternity gone? And since they know that they have destroyed what once was a beautiful perfume why would they not attempt to bring it back even as one of the flankers? I bet it’s not possible to find one single person that would prefer the fake eternity that they’re selling now over the real thing that they put out in the late 80s. If anybody knows of any of these Calvin Klein fragrances that resembles real actual eternity please tell me what that is.

I picked up a 1oz at Marshalls for a good price, and I wish I would have bought the bigger bottle they had because I really like it! Its earthy and sweet. It is powdery, but in a good way. This is one I suggest smelling for yourself. My Husband and I liked this so much we wanted to get the Eternity Intense for Men, but when we smelled it we didn’t prefer it. I think we should try it again, because we were sampling too many fragrances that day. This reminds me of the “invent your scent” collection The Body Shop had in the early 2000’s. They had 8 different fragrances, and you picked two and sprayed them together to make up your own signature. What two it was is kind of moot, because they discontinued it, so hopefully CK doesn’t do away with the Intense any time soon. Try it, hopefully it works for you.
*****UPDATE 7/3/18****** Just got a bottle of Lacoste Natural and it smells like a sport version of CK Eternity Intense in the dry down. CK Eternity Intense has become one of my favorite fragrances, and my Husband also loves it! I think its pretty unique and I haven’t smelled it on anyone else.

Wow. I typically have trouble wearing iris, and most Calvin Klein scents don’t agree with me, but this is actually pretty good.
This opens with osmanthus and doll skin musk. The vanilla is creamy and ever-present and keeps the iris and orris from going powdery and soapy as my skin likes it to do. Occasionally there is a fresh bergamont note or sweet sandalwood. There is a candy sweetness that comes and goes.
This is fascinating and I will definitely be playing with it in the future.

After applying from my decant, I had to run right here to figure out if I had one from a really old bottle, etc. It appears the consensus is this is an odd one, so here’s my take from my sample.
The first two minutes were dead on for my grandfather’s barn — which is actually a scent I crave, but did NOT expect to find in a Calvin Klein release. Before you get too afraid, his barn was full of old hay and alfalfa (a very fragrant, sweet grass), dust and never had animals in it. In the first minute or so, blam, there’s the dust and hay if you sniff hard enough. Then it vanishes as the alcohol fades and the iris and vanilla slowly turn up. There’s a point where it seems like there’s no scent at all between the hay and the iris/vanilla. Just wait. It’ll get there. When it does, it’s fine. It’s nothing special, not necessarily worth the trek through the barn unless you dig that sort of thing.
Needless to say, this is not the scent you spritz on *just* before your big job interview. (Unless it’s at a farm supply store.)
I can’t speak to a comparison to Le Fin Du Monde, but I can see comparing this to a creation of Etat Libre d’Orange. The level of experimentation is way beyond the usual safe zone of Calvin Klein. I’m surprised this made it past all the marketing focus groups, etc., that it likely had to go through and really wonder if there isn’t some chemical “time bomb” of sorts that turned or altered before all the bottles made it into the distribution network. But that is just a *completely uneducated* guess.

I really like this one. Feminine but not too flowery or fruity. This reminds me of something I already have though…Avon Attraction. This is kind of like a better blended version of the Avon perfume. I like it though!!! It is sweet and woody and with a bit of musk. I probably won’t buy this one since I have Avon’s version, but this one is really pretty :)Floral is the second listed note for this, but I don’t get very much floral out of this at all…

Now for something different! This smells like the inside of a suede purse with lipstick, face powder, a used mini bottle of vodka and a travel tin of cocoa butter all rolled into one warm, unusual fragrance. Not for me in the least, but this smells so different and sophisticated, I might be willing to give the sample a try on skin (I smelled it off a clean cotton pad to get a general gist of it).

I adore the original Eternity, it was my Summer fragrance for years, I have fab memories connected to that perfume, however Eternity Intense is not for me. I tested it in-store today and immediately disliked it. It has a very odd smell, that’s the only way I can put it. It’s nothing like anything that I have ever worn before, and probably won’t ever. I don’t find it nice in anyway, I was excited to try it but that fell flat after I tested it. I don’t find it feminine in any way, that’s not to say it’s a masculine fragrance, just an odd, difficult to fathom out fragrance that would give me no pleasure wearing . It didn’t last very long on my skin too, about an hour and I was struggling to smell any trace of it, unlike original Eternity which lasted hours, longer on clothes and bedsheets 😉 I agree with realberti’s review below. I also detect something fizzy in this, like fizzy cola or something in the dry down.
I’ll not be buying this one but glad I tried it to settle my curiosity.

I love the original eternity for women, but it’s winter here in Australia at the moment, and I think it’s a summer fragrance.
I tested Eternity Imtense today amd I really liked it very much. It is soft, powdery, classy and a bit different. It lasted about 4 hours and I’m happy with that as it’s inexpensive from My Beauty Spot.
I was wondering if it would layer well with the original eternity?? What does everyone else think?

After wearing this more, it gives an illusion that’s it’s an EDP. It’s heady without going cloying. It has some weight and you’d expect it to stick around. Only, it doesn’t. After the 4 to 6 hours mark this will fade. Granted I live in a hot and humid country but this one definitely performs like a cologne or EDT. It’s a shame because it is a gorgeous scent. I still enjoy it though.

This is just such a lovely warm comforting fragrance to me.
Not ‘screechy’ sharp or sickening sweet, it is definitely a skin scent with my body chemistry.
Love the opening & it’s transition to the heart & base notes is pretty swift…I wish the longevity was there & am disappointed about the misleading ‘intense’ sale pitch.
It probably needs just one or two more notes/chemicals to bring it more to life & an intense level, but all the same, it is gorgeous & I just have to keep reapplying throughout the day to get my ‘fix’ of this scent.
It is not in the slightest bit related to the original & they could have called it something else entirely new.
Not as unique as REVEAL, but still something different than other current releases out there, especially for lovers of iris/violet powdery freshness with underlying creamy vanilla.
All in all, a beautiful wearable scent, for all seasons, all times of the day.

Chocolaty, plummy with a slight coffee aroma. I know this is supposed to be Iris + Orris + Vanilla but I get a toned-down boozy quality that may taste like coffee and chocolate.
This is of the night but not dark, midnight or pitch black. It has a dusky quality that I enjoy.
I’ve noticed how young perfume users will recoil but experienced fragheads will like this or at least acknowledge its uniqueness.
    Probably underrated.
This isn’t a sledgehammer. It has average longevity and amazing initial sillage that will taper down.
I didn’t care for the male version.

    Eternity intense
Tried again today on a pulse point not layered.
What notes are in the top and heart? Tell me please.
I get straight alcohol, not as in the cheapie frags, but actual vodka, that taste of a vodka shot, not the burning, the flavour.
The end notes are what I would like the scent to be, then and only then do I get the main accords.
Try before you buy, not safe blind buy

Bug spray opening, I thought yuck straight off, it was like a plastic.
But now is woody, warm, dark vanilla, powdery, yeah not bad
So… medicinal opening perhaps, with woody overtones, I layered it with eternity now just because it was on the same shelf in the shop, that helped to lift it.
Not a pretty girly or intense light sort.
If you’re exploring woodsy, or medicinal but not huge sillege sorts, check it out.
    Hope that helps

Got to test this today, on paper and skin. It was rather nice on paper first, definitely got a lovely iris/orris root powder scent. Sprayed on my skin (one spray to wrist), it unfortunately fell short of expectations – mostly synthetic vanilla and ‘water’. Put me in mind of sunscreen, beach etc. Longevity and projection are quite good – I could smell it without lifting my arm to my face for about 4 or so hours.

Tried it today. I collect the eternity line so I’ve been waiting for this very impatiently. The sales assistant past me a square of paper with a spray on it and it smelt unusual but all I could smell was the paper. I applied it to the back of my hand and all I could smell was the paper again. Obviously that wasn’t the paper I was smelling. I was getting a deep warm sweet caramelly vanilla all hidden under a starchy paper smell. I was very disappointed. “Different” the sales assistant commented. I had to agree. I’ve nothing papery in my collection. Feeling deflated I returned to work where one co worker hated it and the other loved it. I wanted to love it too but it just wasn’t happening.
An hour or so later I reached up to scratch my face and got the most beautiful soft vanilla fragrance, which some 4 hours later still remains, having withstood several hand washes.
So it seems maybe I do love it after all.

To my surprise, I am in love with this! The first moment of this scent are like a soft, sweet tide taking me. 🙂 All I can say is for me this fragrance is a total feel-good perfume. Sweet and strong and warm, the first instance a big surprise (check the notes and try it yourself, it is a unique combination, trust me). On me, vanilla is the most powerful after some time. Totally love it. Must have it the sooner the better.

It is goooood! Strange, but nice. The first few moments are the best. Powdery, sligthly earthy iris. My favourit. After a while it becomes sweet and mild. For me this sweetness is a little bit Cherry flavoured, and not the listed simple vanilla.

    A strange fragrance.
I almost washed it off my hand because the first (and second, third, etc.) sniff was like being slapped or running into a wall. I could not even identify what it was but I did not like it. I am guessing it was the orris, but I found it unpleasant.
Now, luckily I was quite busy with work and I started to sniff something pleasant after a few hours. It developed into a lovely clean vanilla scent that is just now fading after about 8 hours.
I do not see much in common in this scent and the original one.
However, in total I gave it a “Love” rating because how pleasant it turned out to be.
I am just not quite sure what I could do to rush through the unpleasant first hour (or so) of its development.

I was sure I smelled some blackberry or cassis in this yet none are noted in the ingredients above….nice smell to my nose, (but again I’m smelling different notes than are listed)…..

Tried it at the store, walked around for a bit, I thought, oh my, this is different! Not your typical Eternity flanker…it has a bit of the original, in the Chypre undertone, some orris, some sea notes give it a different edge…so yes, I bought it because it simply smells not ordinary!! I like the warm Iris too…the dry down is more basic sweet, not too much..I don’t know about the intense part though, it isn’t real bold, it doesn’t project greatly…but it has depth, this isn’t a boring generic flanker..I like it, very feminine…pretty vanilla/ Iris combination.

i like the fact there is something unusuall, less often seen to this. however it is very, very sweet and afer a while it becomes quite dull. the first oment is interesting and it is not jst the iris, there is something “weird” in a good way to it.

I tried this one today!!! Love it!
    Smells like fizzy playdo ????
Its sweet its powdery and I need it!

Syroupy, juicy, not overwhelmingly sweet, with the right dose of fruitiness and sophistication of iris and osmanthus. Totally wearable not only for special occasions. The overall impression is that of a dark berry jam with powdery, suede-ish edges.

Intense iris & vanilla scent, very syrupy, not bad though. It’s just far too heavy for me.
