Description

Féerie Rubis is a new fragrance by Van Cleef & Arpels belonging to the Feerie collection. The original Feerie was introduced in 2008, followed by Feerie Eau de Toilette and Feerie Gold pure perfume in 2009, Feerie Rose des Neiges in 2011 and Feerie Spring Blossom in 2013. The collection is described as magical, alluring, whimsical and dreamy.

The new edition is inspired by rubies that symbolize love and passion and are also believed to help in fulfillment of dreams, protecting from evil and promoting vitality and grandeur. The floral – fruity – musky composition opens the exotic and juicy red notes of raspberry, red currant, pink pepper and litchi. The heart includes a bouquet of magnolia, freesia, peony and iris. Musk, tonka bean, cedar and sandalwood leave a trail in the base.

The bottle comes in the same form as the predecessor in intense ruby red color. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Feerie Rubis was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Antoine Maisondieu.

A blind buy for me and I actually like this. The beautiful notes of raspberry, peony and musk makes this scent a little powdery on my skin but in a soft way. Perfect for wearing during the day during the warmer months. It is a soothing scent but unfortunately it becomes more of a skin scent on me. Inexpensive and lovely to wear.

This is a magical dance of fruit and flowers on fairy wings with a hint of musk. A richness of red berries comes through strongly that seems to go perfectly with the color of the bottle. Very whimsical bottle design would be beautiful on any dressing table. Remarkable sillage on gossamer wings.

this is a non-sweet, very pink-peppery, peony-y and musky composition, very unusual, far away from sweet fruity-floral what you would expect when reading the notes….dont let them fool you. this is only for pink pepper/musk/peony lovers! reminds me Benetton Pure Sport a lot! definitely not a safe blind-buy, althought I quite like it, I bought it mainly for the bottle *guilty*

Fantastic bottle. Dimestore-grade perfume inside the bottle. The original Feerie is far better.

I really like the original Feerie. Feerie Rubis I would only give an OK. It is by no means a horrible fragrance or unpleasant for me to wear, it is just Meeeh..
This is a common fruity/berryish floral with strong and a bit sythetic redcurrant, raspberry and lyche. For me the redcurrant is the strongest note. Other than these notes I do smell the pink pepper, the peony, the musk and maybe some kind of citrus but that is pretty much all.
For me this is a spring/summer fragrance of the grab and go kind. Something to use when I want something that stays close to the skin and does not offend or impress anyone. Longevity is also quite weak, 1-3h maximum.

I have mixed impressions when it comes to Feerie Rubis.
It has something in common with the original, night blue Feerie, but it’s different and kind of worse because of its sillage.
There’s something slightly chemical in here and it was in the blue Feerie bottle too. The whole impression of Rubis is: ‘hard to describe’. Powdery and soapy, slightly chemical, mysterious. The blue Feerie had a touch of fireworks in my imagination and this one has something similar too, in heart notes, maybe red smoke, hard to describe really as I’ve already said. Base notes are warm, like there was amber in it but I don’t see it listed – they show an oriental touch.
The fragrance stays close to skin. Suitable for spring, summer, autumn. I can recognize litchi, iris, red currant, pepper, raspberry, musk, tonka bean.
The bottle is designed more beautifully than the fragrance that can be simply too light for many, somehow forgettable in this obviousness of soapy fruit-floral juice and light & not obvious touch altogether.
All in all I like it, it kind of grows on me. I guess I won’t be the biggest fan, but there’s more to the fragrance than meets the eye at first.

I just received this in the mail and bought without smelling it or reading the reviews. I was a bit nervous after reading them but was hoping for the best. I like it. I am not good at picking out individual notes in perfume but to me it smells similar to Pleasures Intense but doesn’t project nearly as well. I’m satisfied with my purchase; the bottle is gorgeous, too!

Who signed off on this disaster? It’s crazy that such a beautiful bottle should have such a synthetic instantly forgettable perfume inside. It has the unpleasant fake perfume synthetics of a very cheap brand or designer imposter. I just don’t understand why they didn’t lift the quality of the juice inside and make this something spectacular and worthy of the bottle that holds it. Instead you get an instant disappointment with the chemically first spray of vaguely fruity florals, and then in 10 minutes, it’s gone, with only a hint of musk to mark it’s passing.

Quite an unremarkable, even unpleasant scent. I can’t detect the notes above. Pepper and musk as monolith? Such a bottle is wasted. The original Feerie and Rose des Neiges are much more interesting than their sister, red plain Jane.

Hmmmm, Not a fan of this one, sorry. When I first sprayed it, on me, it was reminiscent of Dior’s Pure Poison(Score) . When it dried down, all it smelled like was musky bath soap. Disappointing. Oh well, the bottle is stunning and that is originally why I purchased this one. Sometimes you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Féerie Rubis is essentially a gentle mixture of red berries, peony and white musk. The berries here is not overly sharp nor tart. Together with peony, it smells like a sort of jelly or shampoo, very soft and pleasant. The white musk becomes more prominent with time, which renders the fragrance slightly powdery and very clean as well.
The sillage is soft and the longevity is around 9 hours. I don’t dislike Féerie Rubis, it’s not overly sweet or synthetic, but it’s not very natural, either. It lacks a certain zing, which fails to impress me. As a fruity floral, it’s relatively demure and safe for various occasion. But I think there are also other more interesting choices out there as well.

I must admit that this bottle really got my eye. I really like the red color and I also love the cute fairy on top of it.
But the perfume is nothing special, other flankers from this line were much better.
Passionata20 described this perfume as faint, and I must admit this was the first word that I thought of, when smelling this perfume. I can’t sense any of the notes, described here, I think it’s very plain, like hand wash soap by Palmolive or something.
There’s no love or passion there…

What a magnificent bottle! I really wanted to like this scent enough to buy it! But it is really weird. Musky in a soapy way, very clean, with some faint peony and iris. Ah, I can’t describe my huge disappointment…

OH my! Such a let down! This gaawdjus bottle contains such an unremarkable scent!!!! When i saw it in store i rushed to try it, first on paper. I didn´t smell almost anything. I rried it on my skin – same story. Next day – i try it again. Same story: a very faint mix of litchi, peony and musky iris, so delicate i can barely smell it and it dissapeares within minutes from my skin!!! No way it can be a creation from such a high end brand!!! I will have to keep on trying it more and more, maybe i miss something???!!!
The bottle is amazingly beautiful, however i wish they would do the same amazing job with a smell as well. Truly dissapointed.
Please do not remove this comment, since others might find it useful. Not every review should be positive, so people like me wanted to make a blind buy might find it very informative. Thanks.

I like it, but in my opinion it’s not better than the original Feerie, which is very interesting and mysterious. This perfume stays close to the skin and the longevity is moderate. The most spectacular thing about this fragrance is the bottle.
