Fahrenheit Absolute Christian Dior for men of Christian Dior

Description

For the 21st birthday of the Fahrenheit fragrance, Dior introduces its heir – Fahrenheit Absolute, more intensive and darker that the original. The composition is stronger and more powerful, with the intensified popular aromas of the original.

The violet aroma is extremely emphasized, blended with noble aromas of myrrh, incense and Aoud. New fragrant juices are just as strong as the original ones, leaving an impression of an adventure that one seeks at the end borders of the world, walking down the hot ground besides the melted magma…

The bottle of the new Fahrenheit Absolute keeps the same form; with smoky fiery colored photographs of wild and untamed images of hot magma and water waves….Dior Fahrenheit Absolute is presented to the market in  September of 2009, in the bottles of 50 and 100 ml.

The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy.

    Drum roller: EXCITING!
This Mr. Perfume is another of the few marvels that have come to my nose and in my wardrobe. Despite being an eau de toilette it is very persistent. I do not appreciate the original Fahrenheit, I do not appreciate the Parfum but this for me is the Best of the fahrenheit Family. Mystic incense. An OUD that deserves to be capitalized. It is a fragrance that is rather complex in the sense that it has a very particular meaning and that few people come to understand. Let me explain: There are the classic ingredients that evoke the sacred, the paradise but this fragrance expresses the opposite. A sacred on the contrary, a good overthrown, hell and its flames, temptation, the forbidden. This is why I state that it is an extremely sensual, warm and enveloping fragrance. East Africa comes to mind with its Rift Valley, not only because of the notes that remind you but also due to the presence of many volcanoes. The environment that most reflects this fragrance is that of total desolation: wild spaces, deserts and drenched by millions of gases. I wonder how our planet was billions of years ago and I find the answer in this scent: incandescent asteroids that collide in lava, vapors, black and inaccessible lands. Fahrenheit Absolute is not of this planet, he stayed with us for a short time but I was one of the lucky few to (re) find it. Demachy is always a guarantee. A color for this perfume: Copper. A state of mind: Solitary. An imaginary celebrity: James Bond. Among my favorite fragrances!

    Rather nice!
I have tried this one a few times, and everytime the emphasis is on another note: the first time I got almost only cumin. The second time it was vanilla all over. Today the violet note had the overhand.
Warm, spicy. Quality is good. Sillage and longevity are somewhat below average.

I bought this when it came out for ab $65. It took me a while to appreciate it although my female friends with expensive tastes and lives immediately complimented it. As my taste matured I learned to love it. Now that it is close and comfortable to me and I fully appreciate it for its smooth, refined, sexy manliness – it’s discontinued and $300 to replace.

Bought a full bottle back in summer 2016 at the airport of dubrovnik…. for real!!! Only 76€, which is an amazing price for this so hard to find scent.

I Still have the bottle with 50% the juice still there. The best Fahrenheit Dior released. I remember my father had a vintage bottle of the original Fahrenheit and it smells almost identical to Fahrenheit Absolute. New formulation is weak unfortunately

Please support it as I think we have a slight chance. But I need help!

The original Fahrenheit’s signature scent covered, drowned underneath brand new and still warm asphalt. Which reminds me it could easily be a loved one for a fan of Narciso Rodriguez for Him. They don’t smell the same at all but use a similar recipe: Asphalt and cement vibes with violet and violet leaf notes. While NR’s goes a colder, very gloomy, grey way Dior’s goes black and with a churchy incense added to the mix.
It could also pass as Lalique Hommage à l’Homme’s dark cousin. There isn’t a lot of evolution in this one and at the end of the day it’s a simple while uncommon fragrance. You’ve got this smoky, warm and resinous myrrh surrounded by incenses and with violet, for a reminder that it is still a Fahrenheit flanker, waltzing in the background.
It does to Fahrenheit what Eau Sauvage Parfum does to Eau Sauvage. Only thing I personally much prefer the latter over this one and I also personally prefer Fahrenheit Parfum which is my favorite Fahrenheit of all including the original. A matter of taste here. But still this one, based on uniqueness alone, is still worthy of being tried if you can find it somewhere and you enjoy myrrh, incenses and violet.

A much darker yet smoother take on the original Fahrenheit. With just only a few ingredients, this fragrance turned out to be a very unique scent. I also see this being Dior’s version of the beloved M7, but going in a different direction of course. Why Dior would discontinue Absolute I’ll never know.

Fahrenheit Absolute opens up with a slightly fresh, light green violet leaf—overlying this tangy-sweet, slightly abrasive presence of myrrh. The opening is rather enjoyable actually, but this essence only last for a moment, and is quickly championed by an aroma that smells something like a pungent body odor.
This aroma is very bold and tangy, with a dirty, abrasive feminine texture to it. I hate to say this, but it is hauntingly similar to the vulgar, pungent presence of body odor.
I can’t image how people could misinterpret this fragrance as they have. It’s a very far cry from the pleasant, uber-masculine formula of the original Fahrenheit. And can’t even be compared to the beautiful, romantic essence of the Parfum—even if one argues that this is an aphrodisiac in small does.
It doesn’t even do that well—or to a desirable degree. So as far as I’m concerned, Fahrenheit Absolute is truly a Joker’s card, in one of the most dangerous suites you could find it. I get the joke—but it’s a bad one. And in bad taste in the atmosphere where it’s being presented.

Fahrenheit Absolute is not as acerbic as the original nor is it nearly as sweet as Le Parfum, instead, somewhere darker, in between, more mysterious, yet comparably rich to the Le Parfum.
Including the characteristic violet of the Fahrenheit line, as well as myrrh, incense, and oud, Absolute balances the resinsous side of the myrrh and incense with slight dirtiness (though not animalic or medicinal, really) of the oud. The result is a blend that’s really more subtle than either the original or Le Parfum.
Performance is quite good, not quite as good as Le Parfum but still very good. I like it about the same as Le Parfum overall but would be curious to do a side-by-side but I think the sweetness is the main difference.

No point at reviewing this one for two reasons: it is discontinued, and it is the best.
I am a woman. I wore it as my signature scent throughout a very important period of my life, and I loved every moment of it. No one ever recognised it as men’s perfume on me, not even my grandma. So it was my own personal tongue-in-cheek thing that gave me confidence when I needed it.
No other Fahrenheit smelt this warm and complex to me, and no other had this subtle unisex aspect, like an expensive white shirt. I have been looking for something like Absolute, have found a lot of great perfumes along the way, but nothing that would resonate so much.

What a nice fragrance. This is Fahrenheit all day but it’s turned up with myrrh, incense and seems like a pinch of saffron… just a pinch. This is as loud as the original yet more polite. I recommend this if you like the original. I haven’t given it a full wearing yet though. Lastly, I have read reviews where people compare this to Fahrenheit parfum and say that if you own one you don’t have to get the other because they’re so similar, I couldn’t disagree more. This one is more of the original Fahrenheit with myrrh but the Parfum version is very smooth and creamy also feels smells more heavy. it definitely has a different personality yet clearly is Fahrenheit so please do yourself a favor and don’t listen to those reviews that say they are basically the same. they are not so treat yourself to both and you’ll see the difference. Although I am a fan of this one and I am glad to have it in my collection Fahrenheit Parfum is the best out of the fahrenheit series IMO.

an excellent version of Fahrenheit that keeps his DNA but there is not church incense but much Mirra and is very similar to Fahrenheit parfum if you have Fahrenheit parfum Do not buy Absolute and vice versa performance are very good it’s great for winter night.7/10. the best is the original Fahrenheit. oud?not much.

The elder brother of the original Fahrenheit. While Fahrenheit can be a bit loud, brash and in your face, Fahrenheit Absolute is more refined, classy and elegant, but still retains the element of “I CAN be in your face IF you are not careful” quality.
FA is very much a masculine fragrance. I get good projection and longevity on my skin. FA works well in trendy casual or a sports coat.
Bottom line: If you found the original Fahrenheit a bit too much, you should try a sample of his older brother… If you can find it…

Blind bought this for 42 bucks based upon the glowing reviews, loving Fahrenheit myself and the endless reviews of this being “dark, bold, mysterious” that adorn fragrantica.
This fragrance is not dark, mysterious nor bold ony skin. Violet, leather, incense and spice calm down quickly and what was left on my skin was soft vanilla and incense, spice. Not catching any oud or anything dark.
Smells like a spiced up version of Fahrenheit 32 on me.
It is really nice, don’t get me wrong. Spraying this on was akin to taking a sip from a glass of soda and realizing you grabbed the wrong cup and you just drank orange juice. My mouth and mind we’re set for a different flavor.
Lasts awhile and is excellent on its own right but it’s soft on my skin. I was thinking something along the lines of amouge interlude man, but not at all remotely on its level. No fragrance does incense like interlude though. Best for fall and winter. Again this was painted as mysterious but to me, but it’s not. Maybe mysterious as in smelling like an old church, or a funeral parlor, the scent of herbs used when burying people.

It’s like a Catholic Church in a good way. Very very unique and powerful I like this a lot better then the original which gave me a headache this is beautiful I don’t have anything that smells like this it’s a great addition to my collection very happy I blind bought this
Edit read the review below mine about layering. I now like the original when mixed with this. Good recommendation this is awesome. I never had the op to smell the pre reform but This is a good mix the absolute overpowers that gasoline note which bothered me

In 1988 when god made the perfect juice, he called it Fahrenheit. Since its reformulation, all of us lovers of that original elixir have been scrambling about in the darkness seeking the “Holy Grail” until now. Enter Fahrenheit Absolute. Nothing in recent years from Dior has lived up to the original’s complex DNA until this. So what does CD do in their infinite wisdom? Discontinue. Fahrenheit Le Parfum lacks the beautiful open. The current Fahrenheit EDT lacks the depth of character. What I have currently been reduced to is layering the original formula’s Afershave with Fahrenheit Le Parfum topped off with a liberal dousing of Absolute which surely approaches the nectar of original Fahrenheit. One needs to be a Nobel perfumer to approach is dilemma. Bring back this glorious juice!

Fahrenheit Absolute was a disappointment for me. I am a huge fan of Christian Dior perfumes. Eau Sauvage EDP is one of my favorites and Leather Oud from the “La Collection” line is my signature scent. But Fahrenheit Absolute was just “OK” for me. I liked all the notes just fine. But it was a skin scent less than an hour later. I have Fahrenheit Aqua, and Fahrenheit 32, and Fahrenheit original. I thought it just natural that I buy the Absolute. Not bad, but nothing great. I’m glad that for once I only bought the 1.7 oz. bottle. Now I’m totally on the fence about getting Fahrenheit EDP. Also this is sold as “absolute” which in the perfume making world means that it’s quite strong. I guess that’s what bothers me about this, I was hoping that it would be stronger.

Love this so much i bought 3 backup bottles from a perfume shop where they were gathering dust. I don’t wear it often but i no i want a good supply as it’s getting harder to find and prices are going crazy.
Ps strictly a cold weather fragrance in warmer months it’s way to strong and doesn’t smell as nice. Save it for winter and it’s phenomenal.

Bought a 50ml bottle yesterday (5-jan-2017). The opening reminds me of the regular Fahrenheit to some extent. Vanilla and a little Oud characterize the drydown. It is not sweet, but a sweetish scent I would say. To me that is a big difference as I don’t like sweet fragrances for men at all. Some call it dark, however, this seems a little far-fetched imo. Projection is average, longevity is excellent (12+ hrs). Well crafted and balanced fragrance. Too bad that it is discontinued. Hard to get nowadays.

  29. :

This one is far from being a Fahrenheit flanker. Can’t get any Fahrenheit DNA in this one.
Only incense and oud, burned oud, seems like the gasoline can’t get along with oud, slightly powdery, definitely unique but not for me.

As a huge Fahrenheit fan: and after reading all the gushing good vibes on here–I took the plunge and spent $100.00 on a 3.4oz bottle.
I waited until a full moon to open the box.
I’m only 20 minutes into it and sure; I get what you are saying; smoke/incense / vanilla/ myrrh …… I’m just not getting the “dark” you all are getting. The vanilla is floating around the top and the incense & “dark” seem a little buried. Projection seems a little less than a “good vintage” Fahrenheit batch/bottle . Yes the “gasoline” note is gone but I am getting more “sweet” than “dark” right now. Maybe I do have to wait another few hours? (not getting my hopes up)
Don’t get me wrong- I like my investment and I have a nice big (relatively speaking) bottle in my Fahrenheit collection BUT I was sort of expecting a more dark beast …..especially from something with the word “absolute” declared upon it.

Fahrenheit Absolute, in my mind, is more of a realistic indication of Demachy’s indisputable talent in creating commercially successful flankers, rather than a masterpiece.
It opens ingeniously using the all so familiar violet note immediately attracting the attention of anyone sentimentally attached to the original. This aromatic opening phase lasts for 10-20 minutes before FA starts to take its own path. A path layered mostly with myrrh which is used extensively in order to transform Fahrenheit to its new self. It is now a mellow, warm, dark and calming fragrance with a thick but very discreet smoky sensation. Oud is barely detectable in the far drydown offering a minute dry leathery aspect.
FA is very enjoyable and I am happy to have it in my collection but it is far from groundbreaking. I am pretty convinced that it would have been (much) less popular if it was still in production.
    Nice.

It’s INCREDIBLE how much the LAYERING of this + Fahrenheit original (tested with a 2012 bottle) can resemble the much more heavy VINTAGE Fahrenheit! Just try it and see (Try 50/50 of each one, them 25% Absolute/75% original).
Just an amazing scent, regardless of that.

I understand why this was discontinued – it is a wicked beast of a fume and it cares not what the world thinks of it. This could very easily wear someone as the opener is unabashedly stanky! You are treated with a field of lush violets for but a moment as the cumin and oud plow through the field, leaving only ruin their wake. Here they sit on desecrated ground, stinking and sulllying all that comes around. If you dare breathe deeply enough, you can smell the warm embers of singed trees and charred ground with an inkling of hope – destruction often leads to new life in the most unexpected of ways. The destroyer identified as cumin bores of the new land and departs while the oud cries solemnly at the mistakes he has made – the earth is now soaked with these leathery tears. Smoke billows in and out of this quietly shifting land – ambered oud trees begin to poke through the fertile soil, adorned in leather leaves. The land is alive now and dry smoke rustles these new creations, kissing them gently, sustaining their strange new life. These alien trees birth an anomoly – nuts that quizzically smell of a caramelized and slightly singed myrrh. Time passes and much changes – there is now a confident wanderer meandering through this alien grove only to plop down under a tree and open a cola to sip whilst waiting out the day. The scent permeates the cooling night air as it collects moisture from a coming storm – violets begin to bloom once more. What was once snuffed out is born again to carry us off to a better tomorrow. May we all be blessed with a glorious return of something dear that what we once thought lost.

The weight of the smoke from the burning wood falls onto the seal Fahrenheit for this absolute that transforms into a fascinating smoke of incense, dense balms and a very bold dusty touch of violet, as if an attempt to see who makes the best smoke would imitate the impressive Interlude.
The original Fahrenheit touch is as soft hue in a flat back, the quality of the composition is undeniable, suffers only a little more time and feel that although wood, oud wood does not appear anywhere.
A pity that has been discontinued.
This Absolute can be summarized as intriguing, mysterious and fascinating.

    The 100 Days Challenge – Day 6
Impressive rendition of the original Fahrenheit. It is an oxymoron in all its phases. Classy yet modern, portrays a quasi gourmand side of the first version. Rich and sweet, with arabic undertones. This darkness brings depth and a kick-ass attitude, and yet something in the picture burns slowly, not harshly; with smoothness and sensuality. A meltdown for the senses. This badass happens to be very alluring.

This fragrance is so different from anything else I have smelled. It isn’t what I typically like. I didn’t like it when I tested it a long time ago. I finally had a chance to spray my cuz’ on my skin and it worked magic. It smells like saw dust, pepper and resinous smoke. It is a bit on the synthetic side but it just flat out works.
I really like this. I bought 2 bottles since it is getting harder to find.

Forget JPG,  Fahrenheit Absolute is the true “Ultra Male”. Much like original Fahrenheit, Absolute is 120% geared towards men. A true throwback to when scents had a defined gender (not that there is anything wrong with unisex or gender bender scents). You get the feel of the original for a few moments at the opening but then Absolute becomes it’s own monster. Dark, smokey, & mysterious. This definitely has a heavy incense feel. Some people said “church-y” or even that this has an old person vibe but I disagree. I find that absolute simply gives off an aire of mystery. This is the scent for the man wearing all black, confident, & operates in the shadows. This isn’t for the guy who needs to be the center of attention. Words really can’t describe this gem. It is one of those you have to test to understand.
The marketing behind this one truly fits the scent. Box and bottle design are top notch. By far my favorite Fahrenheit bottle & box. For those of who collect the Fahrenheit line, Absolute would look damn good next to your other Fahrenheit bottles. The commercial for this scent is the perfect visual for Absolute. If you have never smelled Absolute, the commercial will give you a perfect idea of what Absolute is all about. One of the few fragrances where the marketing & scent are so perfectly paired.
Performance: Absolute is marketed as a “EDT Intense” & I believe it just might be that. I think the oils in FA are high enough in concentration that the juice performs like many EDPs. A lot of EDP’s last long but have subtle projection. This is exactly like Absolute. I get great longevity @ 8+ hours (which is great for my skin type) but the projection is a bit lower than I would prefer. It is noticeable in close quarters which is actually probably a good thing for this type of scent. You wouldn’t want this to be a projection monster. Absolute is purely a Fall/Winter Night scent. The projection isn’t the issue but dark incense-y scents like Absolute will become ultra cloying in any heat. Therefor Absolute isn’t as versatile as the other flankers but Absolute does cool nights better than any of them.
As some of you may have heard me mention, I am a Freemason & former lodge officer with Jonesport Lodge #188 AF&AM in Jonesport, Maine (shout out to any brethren on this site!). I have been searching for the perfect scent to wear with a suit when I attend lodge  as long as I have been collecting fragrances & I believe I have finally found it in Absolute. What better scent for a member of the world’s oldest fraternity and secret society?! This is by far the most dark & mysterious scent in my line-up & you owe it to yourself to get your hands on it while you can. If this isn’t niche quality then I don’t know what is. This scent is unique and not for the faint of heart. I would highly recommend new collectors stay away from Absolute. It truly takes an experienced nose to appreciate the liquid art that Absolute is. Fahrenheit junkies definitely get this before it’s gone. Prices are climbing every day….

NEW EDIT 27 Nov 2016: I want to put out a warning to anyone attempting to purchase Absolute. Buyer beware, I have found Absolute’s notes to be very violatile unless stored under near perfect conditions. I bought 6 bottles of Absolute from December 2015 to March 2016. 2 from Ebay, 2 from FragranceNet.com and 2 from BeautySpin.com. They all appeared to be authentic but basically 1 of each 2 bottles from each site had spoiled. All had batch codes from 2010 to 2012. Infact, 4 of them had the 2R02 batch code. Of those 4, 2 smelled perfect. The other 2 had gone bad with the top notes smelling rotten. Rotten being the only word that comes to mind. I tested them over and over for months to no avail. I kept the 3 spoiled bottles just to put up on my wall with my other frag bottles & boxes. The 3 well-preserved bottles are what I use when I want to wear the scent. Fast forward to Oct 27 2016. FragranceNet had 3 100mls of Absolute back in stock so I snagged one. I did not test it and had actually posted on this page that I would sell it and use the money for the new Fahrenheit Cologne. I offered to frag-collectors since Absolute is hard to find at a reasonable price & FragNet was sold out again. After I posted about selling Absolute I decided to say screw it and keep the bottle. I opened the bottle and threw a spray on….and sure enough this goddamn bottle of Absolute was rotted as well. Not as bad as some of my other ones but not acceptable regardless. I quickly boxed it up and mailed it back to FragNet explaining the situation. Absolute is the ONLY spoiled fragrance I’ve gotten period let alone 4 times from 3 different sources. Very discouraging. Heartbreaking really because it is such a beautiful scent. Beautiful enough i will continue my conquest to find more. I have 3 bottles of well preserved Absolute but I know that won’t be enough to last me as long as I’d like.
*EDIT*: I forgot to address the comparison of Absolute & Le Parfum. I own both and I can honestly say after literally a couple of minutes both juices head in their own direction. I see some people voted that they smelled similair. Fragrance is very subjective & IMO, those two scents are NOT interchangeable. Pick up Absolute while you still can!

Recently purchased my second backup bottle of this discontinued gem, so my actions speak to my love and adoration of this fragrance. I first purchased Fahrenheit Absolute when dabbling with incense/balsamic fragrances more than 2-years ago. Let me just say that I immediately enjoyed the olfactory experience, and my love for this discontinued (yes, that was a tear-drop you you heard hitting the deck) favorite grows stronger after each and every wearing. A brilliant fragrance!
I get some sweet incense, myrrh and violet mixed with a touch of Fahrenheit DNA…minus that gasoline accord. I really don’t detect any oud, but I spend a lot of time with oud-heavy fragrances so let’s just say the oud accord is subtle, at best. Regardless, Absolute had a dark feel, but that dark accords is not overly dense nor heavy…so this fragrance shouldn’t be too dark for most wearers or offensive to others.
Pretty much everyone around me likes or loves this scent, when asked, but I received few unsolicited compliments. Although it pushing out slightly above average, it is not a sillage monster and, in my opinion, it may be slightly unapproachable due to it being a masculine/intimidating scent. It commands respect and submission. Typically only people who know me well will tell me how wonderful this fragrance smells on my skin.
I was surprised this one doesn’t last longer on my skin–around 7-8 hours–but I can’t complain since 8-hours is fine with me. I initially waffled between like and love, but it has become one of my all-time favorite Fall/Winter scents. If you love Fahrenheit, I think you will like this one and it is certainly worth trying. If you’re into incense and balsamic scents, you will want to give this one a try. But if you only like the freshies, fruities, sweets and florals…don’t waste your time or money.
Finally, as much as I enjoy wearing Fahrenheit Parfum, it is not a substitute for Absolute. Hopefully, Dior will reconsider discontinuing this ass-kicker of a fragrance. We shall see.
