Was given a bottle of this years ago as a present, it’s a true classic but seem to keep reaching for my other fragrances more. That being said, I have a bottle for sale if anyone is interested? PM me for more details.

It’s nice but I’m afraid to wear it because I keep getting wafts of BO (as in body odour) every now and then. I wonder if it’s the patchouli and if I’m just imagining it? Does anyone else get this?

    Escada For Men
    Eau de Parfum & Toilette
    Purchased on eBay
When this cologne was first released (1993-1994) I was fresh out of college and going through a difficult transition period. You know how it goes. We’ve all been there. Now what? I was less ambitious when I was younger than I am now that I’m older. This was a parting gift from a girlfriend I had at the time who said that this fragrance ‘could change my life’. Turns out she was sort of right. I wore this stuff to job interviews and to dates and it was like a charm. I had never owned a cologne of this caliber before. It feels as expensive and luxurious as Chanel Egoiste or Antaeus but coming off as a much softer lighter but spicy citrus floral vanilla musk and wood scent. It’s smooth and boozy, like having cognac at the Ritz hotel in Paris, at the Hemingway bar, where Ernest Hemingway himself used to smoke Cuban cigars and drink everybody under the table. This is a gentleman’s cologne, discreet, leisurely, fashionable, sweet, spicy, boozy, and seductive. There are two editions an eau de parfum and eau de toilette which I found rather unusual. An EDP parfum for men? Usually when they throw out the word parfum it’s for scents marketed to women. But I soon found out that they mean the composition and concentration is thick and heavily layered more opulent (i.e. think of Chanel Egoiste). Both versions are superb!
At the first spritz all I get is citrus notes with a fresh effervescence like gold citrusy champagne. There’s bergamot orange and lemon galore with that cognac booze heaven. The alcohol is literally there as most 80s 90s fragrances contained alcohol but here the aldehyde is enjoyable. Smells like fresh delicious citrus booze. The cognac is well rendered and dominates the fragrance with a sweet spicy boozy flavor that speaks of parties, galas, tuxedos, black ties, champagne, caviar, and Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous. This cologne would have been detected on the likes of Donald Trump in Manhattan in the mid 90s at swanky parties he threw for the Democratic friends he used to have! The theme of the fragrance is cognac and spice and it’s there from the start.
At the heart and middle stage of the cologne you get a blend of spices: caraway, cinnamon, cardamom ginger and vanilla. These scents somewhat remind me of Aramis Havana minus the tobacco. The bay leaf and patchouli in this scent are minimal but detectable. However it is the spices and vanilla that overwhelm the nose. A few florals in this stuff include lavender carnation and geranium, nothing to worry about because I’ve experienced them in other men’s colognes including chypres with a greenish carnation. This should be a fougere with the lavender at the top and the sandalwood at the base but it’s richness and fullness is not typical of a regular fougere to me. Smells less floral to me and definitely more of a spicy boozy vanilla. The vanilla is warm deep and dark. Finally in the dry down and finishing touches I detect sandalwood, loud and clear. The woodsy base is very clean, like polished brass or gold.
Escada did change my life but it was not until years later that I came to appreciate the beauty of this fragrance. It’s so outdated compared to today’s fragrances due to the multiple number of notes and the longevity/sillage and the kind of conspicuous consumption vibe but I love it. Escada is still asking you to wear him in a suit or tuxedo, formal evening wear. Smells like something George Clooney would wear to the Oscars or Sean Connery. I wear this when I go to the theater and the performing arts venues with my current girlfriend who like opera ballet and symphonies. This is less of a traditional masculine strong scent, almost but not quite unisex. A gender bending woman who likes to try on men’s colognes from time to time would certainly like this one. It has a feminine looking bottle but to me that’s the only feminine thing about it. If you’re a female and you like soft vanilla fougeres this would appeal to you for sure. But for men this is as close to chic refinement in a bottle as possible.

My grandfather gave this to me as a gift. At first, I didn’t try it because, knowing my grandpa, I thought it suited a particular age group a.k.a. old successful people, and definitely male. I prefer scents bordering on the androgynous.
When I finally tried it, I was surprised at how amazing it smelled. It generates a pleasant warmth, like that perfect summer day when all is well and everything is right in this world.
I felt sad when I learned that this was discontinued. I would have wanted to make this my signature scent.

I am lucky enough to have found a vintage EdP of Escada Pour Homme, with no evaporation, viscosity, or discoloration. Hence, I think what I’m sampling is pretty close to what EPH smelled like when it was released.
This is a marvelous scent. Masterfully blended, with a Grand Marnier note over yellow flowers. The top is a little bright, but EPH quickly settles into a luxurious oriental that’s heavy on the Geranium/Carnation. The spices are artfully blended and none dominates. The base is a soft, warm Sandal. There are similarities to vintage Aramis, although EPH is more suited to evening wear.
An iconic scent for the mature sophisticate.

Got a sample of this around mid-2000’s and, sadly, up to now I cannot find this where I am right now.
Cannot forget the scent. Boozy, citrusy, classy and fresh. The cognac, really, is done well.
Overall, a smooth fragrance that gives an air of elegance to the wearer.

Scored a vintage 40ml that came with a deodorant and shower gel (shame they’re stale). I think that if “Casual Friday” was worn to the office, then this is its formal dinner or board meeting scent equivalent. I can smell traces of CF in it.

Escada pour homme is an elegant fragrance for young men in suits.
But this fragrance is overhyped. The ingredients seem to be mostly synthetic. Cinnamon and Orange are very prominent, but don´t smell natural, they are very harsh. I tried 2 different bottles to get sure that I was not fooled by an expired fragrance. And it was the same. If I wouldn´t know that it´s Escada Pour Homme I would think it´s a cheap 5 € fragrance.
If you are looking for an alternative, try Baldessarini Ambre.
I compared Escada Pour Homme with Savile Row (also a very elegant but different fragrance) and the winner is: SR

When Escada pour Homme came out I made a blind purchase without any internet back then. After buying this GEM I loved the boozy/warm spicy blend of cognac and cinnamon giving it a animalistic quality. Just recently I found a 100ml bottle and I wasted no time buying it. A really attractive masculine fragrance which is extremely worth having. I absolutely ♥ this old-school juice with vanilla and sandalwood which gives this juice a sweet creamy vib.
Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting over 8hrs on my skin.
    Finally thoughts,
I don’t regret buying this GEM after many year’s later. I use Escada on special occasions…this unique juice has a very distinct aroma which is perfect during the fall and winter months. Rating this easy….MASTERPIECE 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I used to buy this on-line for $30-$40 back 10 or so years and loved it. Can’t believe how expensive and difficult it is to find now. Not a lover of perfumey stuff and Escada is undescribable. If you haven’t tried this fragrance……..get it!!!! WARNING: DON’T TRY JOOP IF SENSITIVE TO PERFUMES!!!!!

Escada pour Homme is a very good one from Escada , sophisticated , heavy & manly scent , in my humble opinion it can be wore in a winter night out or at the office ( for me i wear it all day long ).
    Scent : 7/10.
    Longevity : 6 to 8 hours.
    Sillage : 4 hours.

I used to wear this when it came out and it got me all kinds of compliments. It was very “professional” smelling to me, like what an executive would wear to a boardroom meeting. Elegant, sophisticated and clean, it exudes class and style. I also remember it being fairly strong with killer sillage and it was very long lasting. I am heart broken it is discontinued and I see it goes for $200+ on ebay. It reminded me of something I could not put my finger on, until I looked up Tuscany for Men on here…6 of the same notes! (cinnamon, citrus, caraway seeds, patchouli, lavender and sandalwood) Very similar but Tuscany is more generic and a little soapy. Escada should being this back, there is nothing currently on the market like this (I understand Tuscany is also discontinued)It would sell like hotcakes.

Warm, sweet, full, well done scent. On the safe side, you can’t go wrong with this. When you think the dry down is gone after a few hours, another dry down settles in (tabacco).

To my nose this one represents one of the last great fragrances of the classic era of male scents. It should be filed along icons such as Aramis, Azzaro, Boss Nr. 1, Cacharel and Zino. It is a fragrance for gentlemen, and I still wonder whether it is now that we associate such scents with men who are 40 years or older, or whether they were defined for mature men in the first place.
Either way, at some point in fragrance history the direction changed, perhaps Cool Water marks the turning point. Since then, male scents have become fresher and lighter – which in itself is neither a good nor a bad thing. It’s just that this one represents one of the last great fragrances of the classic era of male scents.

Before Pure Malt and 1697 and 1270 their was this. A gentlemen’s scent magnified and personified to the next level. It might smell outdated if you are under 30 or just got into fragrances this decade but to the fragrance world this is known as a classic. A very animalistic opening dies down to a dramatic boozy well balanced scent. Should be worn on special occasions when you are going out with a lady, not with your friends going to IHOP. Stellar performance in every category.. Another discontinued gem.

I haven’t used this since I was somewhat drunk last fall. We had a work-related seminar, and I had way too many Gin & Tonic (8 to be exact, that’s a lot for me anyway). I rarely get drunk, and when I do, I never forget anything the day after.
I stumbled up to my hotel room, and sprayed several times on my neck before rolling down the stairs again to join the others. I was surrounded by girls, and I’m guessing Escada had something to do with it. Although it could be my charming good looks, and personality.
I’m guessing it was 90% Escada, and 10% drunken Housebliss.
Longevity? 12 + hours. I sprayed the top of my hand before I went to bed, took a shower when I woke up, and I can still smell it on my hand.
    This is one kickass fragrance.

The initial top smell pretty scary to me, but then a lot is changing in a positive direction! The first half hour
seemed to be a bit old and old memories have come forward, and then enter a special chord, giving an elegant and fine will be all over ………
Art, which will take place during the flooding, which proves to be very elegant and classic fragrance you are dealing with! Gentleman over 40 signature fragrance of this perfume can be ………
Despite the fact that the beginning of frustration provoked me, I respect the scent!
Remarkable start in the Men’s Fragrances Escada fashion house.
Because of this legendary fragrance has been discontinued and so deserves an excellent rating!

    English:
On a beautiful sunny day and put on my newly tailored suit, and soon went to work in a very excited street. On the way, I stopped at a snack bar and coffee instead wanted lemonade, orangeade to continue the walk. I went, I walked and walked on halfway saw lavenders in bundles tied to market. I arrived at work, I see a change instead of the daily routine for brandy celebration of an inexplicable bash. It is a day of joy, is decorated with carnations in pots Geraniums in water, Cinnamon incense perfumes the atmosphere and burn your every move becomes more intense. The party is over, the day passed, I’m back with a scent in the air, in suit hanging in the mind and leads me to a brotherly feeling. Mergers flavor I shall refer Wild Musk Tonka with a flourish, is unusual and at once a frantic end, however, there is now this reminds me of amalgam to the intense patchouli. And with a dash in the background in this world realize that a young Vanilla sweetens and makes in order marvel. Well, Escada pour Homme by Escada has no way but to take you beyond, through their olfactory every step of the climb steps is accurate and almost unrestrained feeling. Fixing thousand, median projection and Walkthroughs presents a hyper cool proposal. Which leaves us saddened and heartbroken discontinuation is this fragrant world, but we live and perhaps in other similar walk perfumísticas arts knowing.
Prose dedicate this to my faithful friend, Mario Colombo!

My, my, this is one classy, sophisticated fragrance.
The cognac in Escada PH is done so well, with a slightly sweetened edge to it, that it literally bowls you over. Though cognac is unquestionably the main note at the party, clearly the cast of other notes has been so well-chosen that nothing seems the slightest bit out of place.
I was lucky enough to come across this recently enough, though it has been discontinued, and was delighted to have it in my collection. Though a lot is made of Escada Magnestism, the PH also deserves its own praise, possibly even greater.
This to me is one of the best ‘special occasion’ fragrances to wear. It’ll go very well with the most highly-dressed man – it’s a ‘tuxedo-fragrance’ in fact. It also knocks all the other contemporary boozy fragrances (you know who you are!) out of the ring.
Highly recommended to snap up if you find it around…if you don’t like it, you are sure to find many who will.

Why was this discontinued? Ow wait, because it was good. Im already liking this one a lot and its just getting going. Im getting a good dose of cognac with a light cinnamon backround. Very nice! Into the drydown, Im getting a lot of vanilla amber accord. Very nice the whole way through but the drydown has already been done for much a cheaper price. Im a little disappointed now because of the drydown.

Escada is an extremely rich scent, but I think some of the ingredients have cheapened an otherwise opulent brew. It’s sweet and boozy, with a little cool fruit and synthetic wood undercurrents. Still, there’s something plasticky about the sweetness that puts me off. Tonka (I assume, since it’s not quite vanilla) starts to show through as we reach the middle, but the fruit notes, which seemed perfectly ripe earlier, are now overripe, like mango or banana that is beginning to turn and has that slight metallic edge. The oversweetened fruit in the base is what puts Escada just over the line into feminine territory for me. I appreciate the wood notes (though the varnish hasn’t dried yet) and even the booze (though it might be a little overbearing) but I’ve struggled with the fruit component in deciding if I would really want to wear this fragrance. It shouldn’t surprise me, though, since fruit fragrances are one of my least favorite families, and I tend to dock points for metallic notes. Finally, close deep sniffing of the sprayed spot yields for me the unmistakable aroma of Elmer’s White School Glue. It’s non-toxic, supposedly, but rather unappealing.

The top note little bit hard to detect then the magic comes in the middle notes the luxurious Cognac the finist one from Rusia. The dry down is super musky mixed with carnation.
I consider this a Finist perfume in my collection.

6 years ago Sephora was selling this at 2 bottles of the 3.4oz size for $30 or so. I bought it and gave one bottle away. How wonderful that wonder, I had read several reviews of this perfume and I must say that this fragrance radiates enthusiasm and good humor: sandalwood and the famous liqueur are a scream, a caress infinite from sunrise until the first star of the evening, his life is great and its particular power make this (almost) vintage one of the classic essential, soft, mellow, sweet, sharp, woody, magnetic, spiritual and above all manly. Insofar as the packaging glass bottle decorated with a finely knurled cap gold leafed and a liquid that is amber pure, I am not exaggerating but this fragrance is really a bomb.
    Seeing is believing.

When I was 18, years ago, I realized I needed to grow beyond the Brut 33 gift set I got for christmas annually. I walked into a Saks and headed for the men’s counter. When I was asked “What scents do you like?”, I was suddenly shook with the memory of a short story where a peevish orphan son discribed the smell of new-found fun-loving drunkard father as a heddy combination of cigars, shoe polish, gin, and cheap aftershave. I asked for the same, but in a good way.
Desipte the wince, the saleman I think got the message and produced a bottle of Escada for Men. Despite the qualficiation “It is a bit expensive”, I bought the bottle.
The selection met my request dead-on. It does initally smell like you bathed in Cognac, but it gives way to a floral and spice notes during the day. In the evening the Cognac comes back, like a cocktail to end the day, topped with a leather and vanilla, hinting a cigar. Morining yeilds to a vanilla and powder scent, soothing your rise to meet the day.
Needless to day, I love this scent. It fits me, and I fit it. It can be hard to find, and I hope they never discontinue it….I might need to stock up.

Lavender, sweet booziness, and sandalwood make this too harsh for me, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it had been reformulated and I sampled an inferior version. I prefer Le Dandy, which isn’t as sweet and doesn’t have the sharpness either. The vintage version of Nicole Miller for Men is also less sharp/harsh, but possesses similar qualities. Of course, if you like sharp, sweet fragrances, this is one to at least sample.
UPDATE: I obtained what I think is the original version and like this fragrance! I don’t smell much beyond the top notes but then within an hour it really comes together, with a nice sandalwood note and a subtle boozy quality, along with the soft patchouli/vanilla one finds in the popular Mugler/A*men fragrances, though here it is subtle, as I prefer.

Escada Pour Homme by Escada. Everything in this scent demands attention. The strength of the Cognac note really dominates the first half of it’s lifespan on my skin then develops a sweet almost powdery vanilla with a shadow of the cognac. I would have loved it to be more spicy than sweet to compliment the boozy warmth. I really love the way this smells on my skin but feel as if I need to be older or a least wearing a shirt and tie to match this refined and attention-demanding scent. My girlfriend is not thrilled when she smells it on me, calling it “old drunkard”. Can’t wear it at work, as I’m employed as an Addictions Counselor. For an older man or woman who wants people to know they are well-to-do and enjoy the occasional indulgent vice. Or apply a bit on yourself, sit by the fire with your loved one and intoxicate them with this opulent oriental-meets-gourmand.

Just received a 40ml bottle from Fragrancex. I had this gem more than 10 years ago. Grew tired of it and gave it to my grandmother! Lol… Now, after I became a perfume addict, I decided to give it a chance again. Thank God I did, because it is such a great fragrance. The initial blast is a bit too strong, but pay attention to its evolution on the skin. It goes all the way to become a very comfortable and charmy fragrance. NEVER , I said NEVER, wear it on a hot day, or you might get really sick. It’s for more formal occasions (not sooo formal), and for nights or colder days. there’s no mistake here. Great sillage. I have just spritzed once in my wrist to test it and it’s the only smell in my room right now.

O my this was a great buy! I have not smelled anyone wearing Escada Homme in a very long time, so I thought I would give it a go. I remember it smelling of an elegant man who has class, morals, intelligence & value! Its smells of an upper class gentelman who walks with his head high! It also smells of a man around the age 40+! Now im in my late 20’s but I can pull this off! It is superb!!!! Would be best worn in the cold seasons & rainy days! I will only pull this out for gatherings such as church, meetings or even on a date. The first initial blast I must say it is very unpleasant, smells of urine to me. After about 10 minutes it revolves into a priceless masterpiece with the cognac & mandarin becoming more potent to my nose! There is a breeze out doors & I get a nice whiff of Escada Homme & cant keep from sniffing my hand! & I got this gift set at a terrific deal! The cologne 2.5 oz & the shower gel 5.1 oz for $30! Boy was I pleased!

mellow, cozy and warm – these are the words that describes this scent the best!
Imho, it’s more suitable to wear on mid-autumn nights. It’s very soothing and unobtrusive.

I’m so happy to have owned and worn this warm and boozy fragrance which, while in production, was sold for prices most people could afford.
The cognac note blended superbly with the rest of the notes, resulting in a smell that smelled more like cognac “should smell” than even the best cognac actually does smell. That’s how good and unexpected this fragrance was/is.

Classic and understated. The only scent from the House of Escada I have ventures to.
Notclear why some think it should smell “manly.” Should mens fragrence smell “manly?” Don’t believe it.
Best suited for evening wear. A sublime date night frag. Keep away from the office! The night time is the right time here!
Oriental “light” is my tag. I would agree that this is not directed to the under 30 crowd. More like 35+.
While sillage is good, longevity could be better (review from the EDT).
Price is in line with reality. Elegant bottle.
Well done with out trying to hard (bottle/fragrence).

When I got this cologne from a friend, I was surprised with such quality.
Is unlike any other that I have, what makes it already special. It’s elegant, sober, classic and powerful.
I could only think about another scent: Chanel n° 5.
I don’t think they are similar…quite the contrary, but the impression I had is that one is married to the other. This one seemed pretty floral, but there was something about it that gave me a fresh sensation in the nostrils and I thought it was mint or something like that. So, I was checking out and it has brandy. Superb!!
It is floral, has notes of geranium and carnation; it has patchouli and vanilla – which makes it an oriental – but it’s the brandy with Italian lemon that makes it like this: SO SPECIAL!
It’s always a pleasant surprise when we win or purchase something blyndly and become satisfied, right?

It’s a shame that Escada has stopped its production of male scents. This is a true classic from the 1990s, and at least I could get hold of a remainder of stock.
The first impression is a very lemon-loaded one, but after a while the undertones emerge. This one goes on and on and lasts for hours. Perfect for relatively warm winter
