Description
Versace Eros Flame, is a flanker to the original masculine Eros from 2012. While the pillar is an aromatic-fougère, the new scent goes into a totally different direction with citrusy, spicy, woody, and ambery accords, described as “cold and hot, sweet and spicy, light and shadow.”
The concept is based on an interpretation of passionate love, marketed as a fragrance for a “strong, passionate, self-confident man who is deeply in touch with his emotions.”
Olivier Pescheux developed the composition as one of contrasts; the head notes are made to be vivacious and fresh with italian citruses, black pepper and rosemary. Pepperwood, geranium and rose facets are in the heart, before a warm base of woods, blended with tonka and vanilla.
The advertising campaign is a modern interpretation of Canova’s iconic “Eros and Psyche” sculpture, where a man embraces a woman played by Gigi Hadid and Salomon Diaz. The campaign is shot by Steven Meisel.
Versace Eros Flame is available as a 30, 50, 100 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum, a 100 ml After Shave Lotion, a 100 ml After Shave Balm, a 75 ml Deodorant Stick, a 100 ml Deodorant and a 250 ml Shower Gel.
Eros Flame was launched in 2018.

I promise to leave a real review, but I have nowhere else to share this – I truly hope this is along the lines of Givenchy’s Xeryus Rouge – the vintage formula. Outside of the nearly identical color scheme of the bottles, the main accords are the same.TOP:XR – Sweet citrus (kumquat/”Chinese orange”)EF – Sweet citrus (orange + chinotto)HEART:XR – geranium + pimento (pepper)EF – geranium + rose + pepperBASE:XR – sandalwood + sweet amber in the original formulationEF– sandalwood + tonka/vanilla
In addition, they both have cedar-wood. It’s also worth noting that if you look at the individual breakdown of the notes listed for each fragrance, the notes share nuances that cross into notes that the other may have but not specifically listed.
FYI, cactus in XR attributes the freshness of the opening in addition to the sweet kumquat. The rosemary in combination with lemon could be the “substitute.”
So excited to test this!!!

I seriously hope that the black pepper is front and centre in this. Does anyone know when the Canadian release is?

My husband just got it from Sephora in Milan yesterday, it was just brought into the store with no price on it :))
He’s very picky with perfumes but this one stood out to both of us (as I am a fragrance addict myself) and we decided to purchase it at 49 euros for 30 ml EDP.
After one day of wearing it, the drydown on him smells like warm vanilla, blood oranges and a lemongrassy touch, although it’s not on the official note list. I can definitely smell vanilla and sandalwood (on the clothes at least and in his beard), but at the beginning I can say it’s citrusy spicy and very warm, enticing.
Definitely one of my favourite perfumes of all times, even if it’s a men’s perfume.
