Description

“I penetrate in the faint light but in the heart of the darkness of the imaginary. it is a sweaty sound flowing into the pulsating veins. it is bated breath when you half close the eyes. it is apathy of an imposed infinity, marked; impotence to live. It is frees expression of disgust and joy in taking delight of it. There is no look, there is no reading, there is no job. All is perfectly clutched in the crusts of our darkest feeling. A filamentous dust when blown inflames; a black rust biting , corrodes a thin layer only for sticking… But whilst forming it protects You. The dark boredom protects, cause it’s produced in loneliness and with the loneliness it makes ferrous shield against mediocrity that is behind the door of everyday life. It is soaked of black boredom who is capable of digging into the inside to find and turn it into a gift. Black boredom as well opening you, throws yourself in another dimension, distant from every trivial and certain contamination. There is no certainty in the dark boredom, as it is experienced on You, becoming part, crust, bark of your deep hidden woods. A lonely flute in the fog of yourself. “demoniac it is the void, and boredom is to be intended as a nothing that penetrates the whole reality.” “those people annoyed, they are the selected, the nobility!.” “I am something more of an illusion for weary men.” Boredom implies a moment for reflection on ourselves , a moment of contemplation of Our own position of the world, and this takes time that is always missing. What is boring it doesn’t dissolve the man but fertilizes the mankind in the horizontal line of the whole life: surrender us to the horizontal mortal in life, far away from all lower natures. Boredom is a need forcing the man to work on himself and on his existence, not on a smooth surface but in the fears of the needs, where the game of the tedium is hard, miserable desire diggings in the linear treasure of eternity in order to become profound and circular joy. Getting used to the excitement of catching . Reacting to the bored calm of the associations and to be free from the accusations of being empty, sharply braking in the libido, where in the nighttime insomnia impossible alters in possible, with a monotonous stimulus generated by the psychotic sound of the materic sea of the outer world. And the external perception subtracts the behavior ,recalling scents of sap in vanilla; and connected to Vetyver and the complexity of a Patchouly of Sumatra, of Singapore and of the Borneo, it demolishes the wall of the hyperactive, where the empty time shapes himself as an horizon of possibility. It is no more a matter of spending the time, but accept its inexorable flow. The fog of the lost, living becomes massive into the heart, in the spellbound forest of the woods of cedar, on the damp carpet of the heliotrope, lover of that loneliness that keeps the eyes slightly shut. In the endless matter of the lost and rediscovered Time, the elevated reason ferments of the void in the void, with the history of a Myrtle, born as a thing from a poor land, raising and embracing to the lavender, outlining a straight road built in the transgression, main dark source for the research of satisfaction. The spirit of life is thirsty of new, of continuous changes , occupying the whole space of the soul, as a fog, as the sleep impeding a movement, inebriating for being nothing but somebody in the continuous sound of an ultra-power. Because, ennui_noir , with its horizontal language, wants to manifest how things are about ourselves” — press release of the brand.

    Sweet patchouli incense.
Wow.. from the first sniff i just admired it! I am just looking into my old samples and wanted to try this again! i had this since May 2017 but didn’t bother to check it out till now! this is just a calming vanilla heliotrope with doses of soft patchouli, tonka beans, & tiny chunks of lavender.
When it cools down it goes more calmer and softly sweeter.
This one is incredible comparing it to his others in line. Excellent blend.

dry, hard like creosote, and like volcanic rock, Ennui Noir smells black, looming and edgy, but feels like something that was once alive, pulsating, and molten. It’s the great Gothic weirdo of my collection, squatting there, overseeing all like a monolithic idol-head, and I hate it so much, I love it, in the way that, as a kid in the early 70s, I loved how gasoline smelled. There’s little-to-no sweetness on my skin, but there’s something so intriguing here…spicy asphalt, dried lavender and crushed patchouli, then there’s the well worn leather pants that Sid Vicious marinated in amphetamine and ‘lude-based, punk rock sweat. I don’t find Ennui Noir to be “commercial” at all, but unique, and I’m so pleased it’s a part of my collection—it’s a great balancer, like a palette-cleanser it gives my senses a break from some of my busier fragrances.

upgrade:I like it more and more, certainly with respect to the mainstream it is of a higher quality. known of the slight notes of tobacco and anise. really class .mainstream but in a classy way. 8/10 great fragrance.

perhaps it is the most mainstream scent of sorcinelli.
not that it’s a defect. opens a little confusing, with lavender and something sour that then fades immediately. then it becomes smooth-creamy with a non-gourmand vanilla and not cloying but very present. an elegant fragrance without a doubt. I feel something very spicy – maybe the myrtle or the heliotrope. the vetiver is a vetiver not clean but there is. the patchouli does the rest by commanding all the notes.
excellent performance unlike other reviews. only flaw: being a rather mainstream, fashionable fragrance, for the high price you can orient yourself towards commercial perfumes … but if you are a madman of sorcinelli like me no. 7/10 is not a boring perfume. Sorcinelli’s hand is there and feels.

There is something very plastic smelling in this one.

A nice unisex fragrance although it leans a touch more to the masculine as very little sweetness. I thought it would be sweeter with heliotrope listed but I cant even detect it. The patch, lavender and non sweet vanilla are very evident on the opening. The list of notes could give the impression that this quite a heavy or even cloying fragrance but it is neither. There is a cool and lightly earthy quality. It’s a sort lightweight version of Oriza L Legrands Horizon.
For a parfum extrait it seems pretty weak. Weak silage and moderate longevity.

The Patchouli and overall warmth really drew me in. Got it as my first choice in the four from my Scentbar Beverly Hills tour. Juss beautiful 🙂

To me (a non-gurmand, non-girly-girl fragrance lover) this is spectacular.
This is a touch of an Angel, really (but not the Mugler Angel).
Imagine every possible olfactory idea/archetype of innocence (baby smell, doll’s head, angels, etc.) epitomized in this perfume. Dolce Acqua, Chanel Jersey, nothing can compare to this angelic beauty.
And the flacon is ridiculously contrary-looking. Testing on bloter equally absurd. Opening is a slap in the face of a contrast.
Naturally, there is a drawback – sillage is minimal, longevity moderate to very good.
    Nevertheless – love,love,love you ennui-noir…

This is chew-off-your-own-limbs good. A quintessential person magnet, which can be both good or bad depending on who you pull into your orbit. For sure I need a bottle for fall/winter. It’s more spicy on my skin but hot damn, it’s something about the lavender heliotrope and vanilla mixing together that makes alchemical magic. Nursing my decant til the next round of coupon codes pop up. It’s so so so very good, I’m at a loss for other words.

So now I’m loving this juice. Extrait de parfum so it lasts long too. I love the sweet fruity musk smell that leans more masculine and grows even more masculine over time I think I’m ready for a full bottle as each wearing has been a pleasure…

Even when i think it is a clone from LDDM…I still think it was worth the money.
I find it a bit lighter/ more refined. Proud owner!
Symphonie passion is gonne be my next one….. vetiver Perfektion

I want to love this.. But I only like it right now. There is a sweet note that I’m not sure of yet. It’s so different than anything out there but yet it reminds me of something..
Longevity and project seem beast mode though

Ennui Noir is slowly winning me over as a solid, modern oriental fougere. I’ve to admit I initially struggled with its almost gourmand facets but the composition is balanced by healthy doses of patchouli and vetiver that keep the overall sweetness in check. Yes, it’s by all means sweet and vanillic but it also offers nice juxtapositions that prevent the wearer from smelling like a lavender cupcake.
So, a modern oriental fougere with its blast of lavender, a shaprish woody bone structure that, call me names call me whatever you want but to me shares some similarity with current Azzaro Pour Homme, and a patch / heliotrope / almondy / vanilla combo that is not so distant from L’Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme. Probably not the most innovative fragrance around but if you’re into powerhouses that approach late 70s / 80s perfumery with a modern attitude, Ennui Noir is a solid candidate to become a favorite.
    Powerful and extremely long lasting.
    Rating: 7/10

To me, this scent is mainly about the lavender, vetiver, and vanilla. The lavender and vanilla combine to produce the play-doh accord familiar from Caron Pour un Homme, while the vetiver adds kind of a stale/humid vibe. The overall impression is of a dense, salty, almost-sweet clay. Fairly linear, with the sharper edges melting into each other more as the scent wears on. Somewhat interesting in abstract way, but not especially pleasant to wear.

A calming scent , not for teenagers that for sure .
Good smell , but not something I would buy.
