Description

Jo Malone presents new fragrance, English Pear and Freesia, which unites English landscapes and seasons which are connected with souls of the British.

Inspiration for this fragrance were also verses by one of the last great romantic poets, John Keats (Ode to Autumn).

Jo Malone’s creative studio chose a perfumer for this collection. That is Christine Nagel known for numerous successful creations (Miss Dior Cherie, Narciso Rodriguez, Rose Absolue, Delices etc). The fragrance is ripe, juicy and thoroughly designed.

Nuances of freesia and pear are very complex, since ripe pears were necessary to achieve a certain note to sound unique in composition of the fragrance.

Pear in the moment of perfect ripeness has crispy structure of skin and juicy fruit. Pear is combined with quince which introduces honey sweetness and is surrounded with white freesia and wild climbing rose.

A base of the composition is created of green, fresh and sour nuances of rhubarb along with warm and subtle aromas of patchouli, amber and white musk that stay in a trail.

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia is available as 30 and 100ml EDC. The fragrance arrives on the market in September 2010.

I bought this with the Wood sage & Sea salt 30ml bottles without testing them. To be honest, I was disappointed in the beginning. After all, those two were among the most popular scents of Jo Malone. It has been more than 8 months since I got them. The English pear has started to grow on me!!! Now I can say that I like it.

I got this fragrance during my trip to Auckland. I figured that since it made such an impression on me and since there’s no Jo Malone outlet where I’m from, I’d get it as a personal souvenir. I love its sweet, fruity scent! At first sniff, I thought it reminded me of something else I’d worn: Clinique Happy Heart, this one has got a little more rose in it. A really happy buy overall!

Currently wearing this scent at work, I loved it when I sprayed it on the card but on my own skin it’s a bit too dull. It smells old and not sexy- a bit too soapy

This scent is much into Freesia -theme. I do not detect pear as such, however, the first blast reminds a lot of JM signature Lime&Basil&Mandarin (which is crazy, I know!).
It is pretty linear, calm floral. Nothing too extraordinary. In fact, it reminds a lot of Guerlain Idylle and Miller Harris Coeur de Jardin.
I find this particular Jo Malone quite boring as compared withthe rest of the line. Probably, would be good for layering with other.

My second JML fragrance and this I’m currently obsessed with. I love a good rose and patchouli smell and this perfume got both the notes perfectly right!!
Top notes are agreeably boozy, however the middle notes are beautiful and bottom notes are very clean.
Story time : When I purchased my first JML fragrance -Peony and Blush Suede, the SA slipped in two tiny vials of English Pear and Freesia. Ever since then I had completely become obsessed about this smell. After a couple months when I found it under Dutyfree I jumped for it and immediately bought the 30ml bottle. While I waited for my flight I started contemplating if I did the right thing purchasing the 30ml. I also realized that there wasn’t a JML store in the place I stayed (Bangalore-India) and I dint want to wait until I was in another duty free or even ask someone getting it for me. So I immediately rushed back to the duty free and exchanged the 30ml bottle for the 100ml one. I am so happy with this frag that I wear it even to bed 😀 😉
This one somehow lasts on me all day and I’m super happy with my purchase 🙂

This is a surprise love for me. I loved the pear and freesia notes, but I was afraid that the patchouli would be too much. I am easily repulsed by patchouli and unfortunately my skin tends to magnify it. The patchouli is indeed fairly strong in this, but it blends with the other notes in such a way as to make them deeper and more interesting. This one is also quite long lasting on me as well. I wasn’t interested in JM fragrances for a long time because I assumed they would be too light and fleeting, but I’ve learned better now to try and not to assume.
Added comment: I’m really surprised that patchouli isn’t listed as an accord here, as it’s very prominent on me and fortunately stops just shy of being too much. That is what makes this perfume in my opinion. Otherwise it would just be another fruity floral.

A nice balance of spicy and sweet-I like mixing it with Jo Malone Wild Bluebell on days I wish I was in London and with Tokyo Milk La Petit to bring it into dirty gourmand territory.

Another Jo Malone scent that I can smell anything other than strong ROSE. It smelled better the first few times but not anymore. It was nice smelling it from the bottle because of the pear scent which is noticeable but when I sprayed it on, I just can’t smell anything but rose. Maybe my body chemistry just does not match this scent.

Pear and Freesia, two of my favorite notes. Unfortunately patchouli ruined everything. It’s too heavy for such a bright scent. A shame…

This starts sour and boozy, the kind of boozy that if you got pulled over after just spraying, you’d surely get pulled out of your car for sobriety tests. This quality dissipates fairly soon, but it does stay tart. Once the freesia starts to make its appearance, I begin to fall in love. It is fresh, clean, crystalline. Polished and elegant. This, Peony and Blush Suede, and Basil and Neroli are my favorite JM’s. They all have an incredible clarity to them that to me seems very fitting for the Jo Malone aesthetic.

Light boozy carbonated pears swinging around with a bouquet of fresh flowers. The first burst is almost like a nice cold fruity beer, sparkling wine or some sort of sweet champagne that will take your brain to a festive mood (for a second at least).
The dry down is quite musky on my skin, patchouli also makes its way across the initial happy cocktail party mentioned, becoming a nice clean-showery scent with delicate projection.
Many complain about the longevity, but with a well moisturized skin it will stay with you for at least 6 hours; overspraying also helps on this subject.
It’s nice! I don’t think I could wear it on a hot day (read comment below by @ewalkzz), and I guess it’s more suitable for a casual program than for work, even though it’s so light that won’t offend anyone.
    3.5/5

This smells great if it’s a cool fall day and you are mostly outdoors. It’s a beautiful crisp floral and is musky like fall leaves to me.
BUT, if you wear it and start sweating, it smells like an old lady perfume and becomes cloying. Do not wear in the heat.

I am allergic to bee stings and bug bites of all kinds, and so I am well acquainted with insect repellent unfortunately, and the initial spray of this smelled just like bug spray to me. It did settle down into a nice floral, but it still had a repellent reminder for me on my skin. Fortunately, as with many other JM fragrances, it didn’t last long on my skin.
It’s disappointing to me because I have Freesia in my garden, but it only flowers for a short time every year, and so I would love to find a perfume with the actual fragrance of freesia, but this isn’t it.

  14. :

I just like this. I don’t love it. You definitely get the rose and freesia here. I’m not crazy about freesia. It’s nice, but a bit older and more floral than what I usually go for.

  15. :

    5 out of 5

I love the scents of freesia and pear. The pear is sweet and juicy and realistic and lovely.
The freesia is less so. It does show off some of the wetter aspects of the flower and you really see why it’s listed as an aquatic floral. However it would set as heady or as creamy as the real thing. It goes soapy but soapy like lily of the valley, not like freesia. I feel like the freesia has been wrapped in other flowers and transformed. And the freesia scent is dominate.
This one doesn’t work for me.

not bad.. meh *edit* Actually I wore
this not just last night but also all day
today (and the upcoming night too) &
I must say that this is PLEASANT. I’m
starting to see the usefulness of this –
it is what u wear when u don’t want to
wear perfume, when you don’t want to
do yourself at all, but you want to smell
good. You are not made-up or you are
but not for the public, you don’t want the
good smell to last and you’re more than
willing to spray & keep spraying, it’s this.

Esta é a minha 3ª preferência para Marca Jo Malone. Sinto uma fragrância alegre, iluminada, para um sábado de sol, com uma brisa fresca, um passeio num parque. Elegante e alegre, puro e divertido. Adoro !!
This is my 3rd preference for Marca Jo Malone. I feel a cheerful, lighted fragrance for a sunny Saturday, with a cool breeze, a walk in a park. Elegant and cheerful, pure and fun. Love !!

This is pretty, calm and refined. Yes, I get pear but it never gets really fruity smelling. The peppery freesia restrains any wanton fruitiness. Further along the timeline and I detect the rose, creamy musk and a touch of melon.
I say this but overall it’s very well blended and not easy to discern notes.
I’d love to wear this on a summers day. Casual, soft and youthful. Nothing shouts but you are enveloped in a cloud of soft scent. The most gentle chypre I have ever come across. They have stated an aquatic aspect to this scent. Well if there is one then it is very low key.
I have to admit for a JM scent it has good longevity and the sillage is moderate. This is a scent that I can’t imagine anyone disliking this ladylike scent.

Even I put 10 spritz on my hands but it quickly evaporate and fade, it been mentioned PEAR AND FREESIA for dominant notes but I’m not really get the pear and freesia very much, what i get the most is spicy floral. Top note is very very easy to disappear (the sweetness from pear is 5 minutes then it’s gone), middle to dry down are roses, amber and rhuburb, I say this perfume is more focusing on dry down, in 30 minutes, i get the dry down so quickly, overall it is a spicy floral perfume, not fruity floral, The cheapest So Dupont Pour Femme is far better than this perfume (sorry JM)

Lots of soft melon and sharp freesia. All in all, not bad, but not in my style.

I don’t smell the pear and I don’t think this is sweet. This smells like the pink Narcisso and Guerlain’s Idylle. It’s sharp, white floral, soapy and powdery. I loved smelling it in the store but it kept bothering me and got on my nerves after an hour of wear and I felt a bit old-lady-ish. I like this from afar.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Not bad… First the intense scent of pear rise up and then sweet flowery taste of freesia left. But overall this perfume doesnt last long. It only last for an hour or so.

  24. :

It’s nice but I didn’t love it after after a while, it did get a bit soapy

EDIT: turns out what I described earlier was FAKE Jo Malone. I bought a decant from a local online seller and it turned out to be fake (I assume), because the real English Pear that I smelled directly at the shop was LOVELY. In fact, I bought one bottle for myself. On me, it is more floral than fruity on me as the freesia stood out very much, despite being quite peppery. But peppery is good for me, since I am not into perfumes that have too sweet of a drydown.
I have just recently been drawn to JM’s colognes and I have tried a variety of them. I am not crazy about English Pear & Freesia. Fresh, soapy, and quite linear, I might say. It is a safe perfume to be given as a gift, but it lacks quite an identity. To me it smells more fruity than floral. And call me crazy but I kind of detect a little bit of Kenzo’s Flower in it, minus the powdery feels — which is a surprise because when I checked, the two of them do not share the same notes except for musk and rose.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

A meh-kind-of-inoffensive for me. Floral fruit bordering on unpleasant in my nose.
    General disclaimer:
All Jo Malone frags I have had a chance of testing seem to be pretty simple things more (much more) suitable for room fragrances than personal perfume but not at this price surely…
I never understood the hype and cult surrounding this brand and having tested several of the frags I still don’t, but there we go.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

    Meh.
So far, its my least favorite of the Jo Malones. Not a huge identity, the fruity notes are lost on me. Just a plain old traditional clean floral, that’s gone on me within 3 hours. Haven’t tried layering it yet, so hopefully it won’t be a waste in the end…..

  28. :

My another favourite layering in the world with nectarines blossom and this one, the pear and freesia seems soapy, not too fruity like those out there, but the nectarines blossom with it together, the scent is feminine, happy and gentle.
    Office, kindergarten, school perfection

  29. :

This is nice, and I like the scent of freesia, but to me the pear comes out a little more strongly here. And thats not bad per say, but I find the sweet scent of the pear does start to annoy me after awhile. It is, at least, an authentic pear scent, but I guess Im not a big enough fan of that particular fruit to enjoy smelling it for hours on my skin. It is pretty and girly and spring-like and really matches well with how you’d expect it to smell, but I guess my only advice would be to make sure you like the scent of pears if you’re going to invest in this. I think it is gorgeous to take a sniff of every now and again, but I also get tired of it quickly.

This smells so delicious! If you like fruity perfumes, but don’t want to smell like Bath & Body Works, you should give this a try. I purchased a sample and really want to buy a full bottle. This also pairs well with Peony Blush Suede and Wild Bluebell from the JO Malone line.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

On my skin it’s intensely musky, and quite a bit naughty. The flowers, musk patchouli combine to create a slightly musty chypre richness, while the pear and quince keep quietly in the background and only give occasional wafts of juiciness.
Such a fragrance is wonderful on lazy sunny autumn days.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

This is a gorgeous freesia and pear scent. It’s bright, sweet and friendly but not too youthful, this was designed for everyone I think. I can’t say enough how happy and cheery this makes me feel. This is Demeter, goddess of spring and rebirth.
The opening truly is a wonder and completely original… For the first half hour or so.
After that it morphs into a delicious but sort of general white musky scent with a slightly fruity undertone. (Blueberry… Am I crazy?) After an hour it reminds me powerfully of Narciso Rodriguez for her (the black bottle) it’s different fron NRFH by being a lighter, more fun-loving daytime musk, rather than a slightly stronger, more rich, serious scent.
But still, it’s way too similar.
Good sillage and great longevity… I can still smell it on the shirt I wore yesterday.
Too bad the opening doesn’t last and this fragrance develops into something too similar to other scents.

This is beautiful, floral Chypre. This would be a beautiful wedding fragrance for a traditional British spring/ summer wedding. The perfume is lovely but the body lotion is even lovelier. I get compliments when I wear this.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

it’s so captivating in a beautiful way…I love how the crispiness smell of pear and the lively scent of freesia combined together with a hint of romantic rose create a lively clean, flora-fruity scent!!

  35. :

    5 out of 5

English Pear & Freesia is one of the only perfumes I’ve ever tried which smells very fresh, modern, and very expensive. By “fresh” l don’t mean in the bracing citrus bitter bergamot way, but in the juice-filled fruits on ice way.
I would call this an expensive bodywash/shampoo perfume, except that there are too many nuances for this to ever be mistaken for *average*. This fragrance has a complexity that bodywash fumes don’t have.
All the while the scent manages to stay versatile and approachable. So many types of balance are achieved in English Pear & Freesia. Also, it’s quite addictive and when it disappears I feel like something is off until I can smell it again.
I don’t get anything boozy or fermented, unlike the opening of Peony & Blush Suede with its distinctive apple cider notes. It is a sparkling scent however, so I can understand all the comparisons to champagne.
Pear, rose, and freesia are most prominent on me. I think it’s ideal for spring because it’s so fresh and uplifting, though the marketing seems to place this as an autumn perfume. It would work well in either season.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Delicate, fresh, famine, pretty. For some reason I feel it has an old world charm but not in a bad way just pretty slightly vintage feel. SPARKELING pear champagne wrapped in delicate fresh freesia. Reminds me of a ballerina or what Jane bennet would smell like. Simple and feminine xoxo

I came across a Jo Malone concession while on holiday and was very excited as I had heard a lot about the perfumes but had never smelled any and I hadn’t been brave enough to risk the hefty price tag on a blind buy. I went spritzing mad and narrowed it down to two that I liked, this being one of them. I sprayed each on to a card and put them in my pocket and off I went. As I walked around the town that evening I found myself repeatedly reaching into my pocket to smell the card, the more I smelled it the more I fell in love with it! It was the most unique scent I had ever smelled and yet it seemed so incredibly familiar. I obsessed over it that whole night.
The next day I was taken back to the store and was bought it as a gift. Naturally I sprayed myself with it too. Instantly I was absorbed into it’s cloud. Its opens with a clean sharp but smooth fruitiness and settles quite quickly into the most beautiful dry down. I can’t even describe it properly it is so well blended. It’s so sophisticated and yet so simple. and my husband agrees!
I am completely and utterly in love with this perfume! It would undoubtedly be my new signature scent, however despite it’s initial power and projection it just doesn’t last long enough on me. I am constantly craving that initial punch and so find myself repeatedly reaching for the bottle. Unfortunately I just can’t afford to have this as an all day every day scent.
Jo Malone scents are designed with layering in mind so I have tried it with a few different scents now, including some recommended Jo Malone samples. But I find this perfume is just too perfect on its own. I am hoping to build up my collection of the body products to try and extend it’s longevity.
For now I am saving this perfume for special occasions but I just can’t resist the odd after shower spritz.

This is a walk in a beautiful botanical garden full of roses and freesia. The pear is juicy, with a bit of white musk, and edged beautifully with patchouli, making it crisp and leafy. This reminds me of Signorigna Eleganza, though this is much lighter on the patchouli and rosier. Feels classy, fresh, and sophisticated. My second favorite Jo Malone.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

This scent is sort of sharp…definitely not what I expected from a fragrance with pear as the top note. It’s more freesia than pear to me. The pear initially smells a bit fermented, like korte palinka, a Hungarian alcoholic beverage made with pears, but that fades. It actually becomes very pretty and begins to smell like the marble lobby of a classy hotel I once stayed in. I think I’ve smelled this on many people though, or maybe there’s a scent that smells a lot like it. It at least lasts pretty long for a fruity scent.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

I was really excited to buy this as people said it smells like the Marc Jacobs Pear perfume but it is spicier and drier. I don’t like this because I prefer a sweeter younger scent.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I can’t compare this fragrance to the other ones mentioned here because I have only sampled and worn this one. The rose and freesia are prominent and it smells delicious and fruited with pears. Pear and rose go well together. It’s also got a dry down of aromatic patchouli and some musk. It’s mature and sophisticated but if Jo Malone is copying other formulas I won’t be looking into any more fragrances from this line. I have enjoyed a few others like his grapefruit scent. Simple and floral-patchouli to wear in autumn.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

The top notes are refreshing and pleasant. However dries down to a very boring and generic ‘white musk’ type of a scent. It has no personality. Very basic.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I did get a fleeting whiff of a lovely ripe pear scent when I first sprayed this, but it then rapidly developed into pur ‘bug-spray’ scent, and stayed that way.
I think I’m beginning to find a trend in perfumes that do nasty things on my skin. This is the third frag with a combination of strong patchouli & freesia that I have disliked hugely! It’s that combination that makes for an expensive ‘bug-spray’ note to my nose. Thankfully I have only a tester, and will know to be very wary of this combination in future. Funnily enough though, I also have others such as Si Intense with the same combination that I really like, so there must be other notes that can change the effect or they simply have less of the offending combination in the mix.
Off to scrub this one and try the next in my set of Jo Malone testers. Maybe I can layer this?

  44. :

Scent – freesia, rose, pear & melon musk.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, during the day.
Projection – I did get noticed, it garners compliments.
    Longevity – I get 8hrs consistently.

  45. :

Sorry not for me. Initial blast is full of alcohol theres a tiny moment when the pear shines which i like thenn the rosy freesia heart takes centre stage. Im not a fan of this combo as im reminded of air freshner.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I have mixed feelings for English Pear & Freesia. The EDT, on my skin, literally smells like a fruity mixed alcoholic beverage. I don’t know what it is, but the opening fruity aquatic notes never go away, and there is a continuous overtone of alcohol.
Now, the body cream, however, is divine. The opening is fresh, crisp pear, and then the scent that lingers is the base of amber, patchouli and white musk. Very warm, and a good complement to many other Jo Malone scents. I’ve been pairing this with Earl Grey & Cucumber EDT, and I love the combination.
I highly recommend the body cream if you didn’t have success with the EDT.

This one id so unique. And in my opinion, this one is a signature for Jo Malone ( like Gucci has Rush or Chanel has No.5 ) this scent is so angelic, luxury and tender vulnerable.
Imagin for a white theme wedding in the winter garden, that’s all my description.
It’s sillage so strong, high longevity and beautiful projection.

The most confusing perfume for me. I love freesia, I love pear, I love Jo Malone. I have tried this perfume twice and both times it literally made me gag. An immediate scrubber (I tried it the second time as I thought I must have remembered my reaction wrong) Nope,it’s cat piss given my chemistry.

I have a sample of this,I call it amazing and lovely.
On winter is more pear,on summer is more rose coming out.
    Excellent,elegant choice,a bit expensive although.
    Reminds me very slightly,times to times,N.Rodriguez,times to times J’ adore,but has its own character,not a replica,for sure.
    Very fresh,sunny,tasteful fragrance.

One of the scents I reach for when I want an uncomplicated, unchallenging fragrance that simply smells beautiful. i’ve bought a bottle of this for my a friend’s wedding and i really think it’s the most perfect perfume for a bride 🙂
i totally agree with the reviews that mention it smells like a bouquet of rose petals and white freesia splashed with sparkling pear champagne. sounds strange but I can’t describe it any other way. a really pure and pretty floral fragrance that layers gorgeously with nectarine blossom and honey. 🙂

  52. :

I can’t begin to tell you just how absolutely beautiful and simple this is. I like this so much, I’m trying to convince myself that this is somehow a unisex fragrance and not a perfume for women. I’m buying this, if not for me, for someone who will let me be near then just so I can smell this on them. Simply sweet and lovely.

I love fruity scents and this one is no exception for me! I sampled some in store and really like it so this may be next on my hit list from Jo Malone. This seems to me like a spring and early summer fragrance and would work really nicely paired up with Wood Sage and Sea salt! Another for the *ever expanding* want list lol!

  55. :

    4 out of 5

This is the most sourest fragrance I have ever had. The alcohol smell is very strong. It smells almost as alcoholic as a glass of gin and tonic with a slice of sour fruit in it. Maybe a drop of rose water somewhere there as well, but it is very, very faint. Staying power is not very good on me. I love the bottle, though. It is quite pretty.

  56. :

    4 out of 5

This fragrance smells like it is titled. It is juicy and fresh, sweet but in a very natural way. The florals are light and clean. There is an undertone of patchouli but it is very subtle. Mostly fresh fruity floral. This one is my 2nd favorite Jo Malone after Wild Fig & Cassis. It smells similar to Petite Cherie by Annick Goutal so if you have that one this one would be redundant.

  57. :

    5 out of 5

The notes in this are unique and interesting. It’s a mix of the pear, various florals, and a woody musk. Although this has a pear note it doesn’t smell sweet to me. It almost smells like a salty dough or something. It’s so unique and strange that sometimes I spray the perfume just to smell how weird it is. Unfortunately, while this scent could have been promising, it just doesn’t smell pretty, attractive, sexy, or any of the other reasons we wear perfume. When first sprayed, it literally smells like salty, rotting pears that someone forgot to clean in the fruit basket, which were consequently left to rot in 90 degree weather for a week. Or almost like when you accidentally leave a forgotten dirty dish in your room for a few days and it starts smelling (I did this many times as a teenager so I know the exact smell of rotting bits of food on a dish smh). The drydown is nice though, a clean musk mixed with the various florals listed. The pear note is really gross in my opinion. However…This scent is not sharp, nor is it super inoffensive despite the weird rotting pear smell. Despite me bashing the pear note I don’t hate this perfume. I think it smells beautiful on the drydown. It’s pretty light too. But there is just something in it that smells like something is rotting in the beginning, which totally turns me off tho this perfume.

  58. :

English Pear and Freesia by Jo Malone smells both classy and fresh on my skin. It’s what I’d call a very ‘British’ scent. It has that refined, classic feeling with a dash of an English countryside thrown into the mix.
I surprisingly enjoy this fragrance despite the fact that I usually detest notes of freesia and melon in perfume. The freesia note adds a floral crispness to the composition, and the melon gives this fragrance its subtle sweetness.
Admittedly it’s not something I’d ever go out of my way to buy, but it is extremely pleasant, (far nicer than other generic fruity florals on the market today).
The pear note which seems to drive much of this composition is juicy, green and luscious. It emits the same guilty pleasure you receive from biting into the actual fruit and feeling the juice dribbling down your chin. Rich red rose oil and a soapy musk adds further complexity to this fragrance as the scent settles on the skin.
Jo Malone is a fragrance house known for poor longevity and exorbitant price tags, and although English Pear and Freesia won’t be easily found in a bargain bin, the lasting power is better than most others from this house. In fact I could still smell this fragrance up to six hours after my first application which is rather impressive for a cologne.

Interestingly, I have had this since my birthday last year and didn’t love it until my birthday this year. I loved it on paper but my skin tends to pull spicy and surprisingly this was much less fruity on my skin than I had hoped. But when I decided to embrace Jo Malone’s concept of fragrance combining and went into the shop this year on my birthday to find something to help me enjoy this fragrance that I hardly ever reach for. That’s when I found Wild Bluebell. The combination is amazing on me and the two of them together = my new signature. I wear it every day now and I look forward to smelling it on my sheets.

Fresh, fresh, fresh. I don’t think I would wear this by itself, but it would be fantastic for layering with something that seemed to need a fresh sparkle. Like every Jo Malone I’ve tried the quality is very high. It lasts.

I think english pear and freesia is more fruity than flowery in the beginning, but very soon it settles down to a very beautiful floral fragrance. My favourite flower fragrance is Freesia, and with this perfume I am not disappointed. Longevity is great on me…..7-8 hours.

I like it but not loving it.. Its a total sweet fruity scent, cute packaging with the box and bow but i think its quite overpriced , i have the 3,4oz (100ml) bottle and will not repurchase.. Great for every day used.. It is fresh, fruity, sweet but not sexy scent..

I think english pear and freesia is more fruity than flowery.
But don’t get me wrong, the fruity smells not too overpowering like perhaps juicy sweet! it light enough just too call it sparkling sweet.
It’s light, yet noticeable and great! my girlfriend says i smell great and different.
I love to mixed it together with wild bluebell, makes it more fresher; or use peony blush to make it more sexy and sensual.
It’s a nice fragrance for shopping day or girls’ day out.
It’s a great for combining, but its a decent one just to wear it like that.

This is one of the more perfumey smelling floral Jo Malones (vs how naturalistic some can be). This starts out smelling like a light floral freesia that is slightly fruity. The fruit gets stronger, almost a bit too sweet and cloying. Then a little musk develops. This seriously reminds me of the scent of the original Bath and Body Works sprays from eons ago (not the ones they offer now, the ones that were offered when they literally were first opened, in the 90s). Then the patchouli shows up, finally, in the dry down, and whoa, does it change the scent. It goes from a lighter floral to slightly gritty and bodied, but still smells like a B&BW spray. It’s the type of fragrance I can easily see myself complimenting someone else wearing (it really has an overall pleasant scent, I would categorize it as “pretty”), but I wouldn’t wear it myself.

It’s a very pretty scent. It’d make any girl feel very pretty and feminine.

I love this smell. It was the first JM scent that stopped me in my tracks.
Fresh, soapy-clean, fresh linen-like. Just a super delicious, pretty, simple perfume that in its own right is just a little naughty – because it’s so wholesome, it’s like the librarian updo suddenly let free to tumble down the curve of the neck.
The ode to autumn, with the fresh airiness of it, and of the pear is poignant, though I don’t get much rose – which is fine, I like it for the pear.
A neat gift for someone in your life, of any age.

This is such a lovely flight fruity floral scent, flowery but not overpowering – it won’t give you a headache. Reminded me a bit of Maybe Baby by Benefit – also a fruity floral. Very nice for a warm summer or spring day. This is better mixed with other Jo Malone colognes such as Pomegranate Noir or Nectarine blossom and honey.

I really like this one on paper. Sadly, by the time I got around to this one, I had no more real estate left on my skin to spray it on. My paper strip smells exactly like pear and freesia. Must try on skin!
EDIT – on skin, the opening is a lot of pear. Similar to Annick Goutal Petite Cherie. The pear note is so perfect and beautiful! The further down the drydown, the more freesia you get. In the end it goes into fruity-floral mode and I start to dismiss it. The opening is very beautiful though, wish it stayed that way throughout the wearing!
EDIT 2- this stuff lasts a surprisingly long time for a Jo Malone… Normally I find her frags very fleeting, but I put this one on this morning and it’s still going around 5 o’clock.<
