Description

A bit of electricity, a lot of romance and plenty of roses, the new fragrance from the Givenchy collection Eaudemoiselle, Eaudemoiselle Rose a la Folie, represents the scent of a modern “baby doll”, described as an elegant visionary who lives according to her needs, desires and codes, with creativity in all aspects of her life.

The composition, announced as truly modern and elegant, is of floral fruity character. It opens with sweet tanghulu accord, which implies small caramelized apples. The heart features rose tea, laid on the sensual base of musk.

It is available in a pink bottle of the standard design of the collection as a 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Eaudemoiselle Rose a la Folie was launched in 2016.

Don’t let the notes fool you, they only tell half the story. This isn’t just apple and rose, this is a deep red caramel candy apple and an intoxicating musky rose potion.
This is what a fairytale princess wears at night when she’s seducing the prince. The colors I see are all deep, velvety reds and purples ar night-time, but youthful.
It’s apt that the reviewer before me mentioned Disneyland because I really feel like this would be something Belle from Beauty and the Beast wears after she’s married the human version of the Beast and settled into a life of luxury and opulence. I can see Princess jasmine wearing it too, on the carpet ride with Aladdin.
And of course the evil queen from Snow White. She gives Snow White the apple then goes home, changes back into her human form and then puts this on so she can feel like the most beautiful of them all.
This is one of those step into a fairytale scents for sure, but not for little girls, the musk makes it a bit grown up, I see this for 14+ really. It would be too adult for anyone who hasn’t hit puberty, because of the musk.

I saw Rose a la Folie at Mademoiselle Antoinette’s Parfumerie in Disneyland, tested it & wanted it but stopped myself because it cost $95. A few months later found it online for less than half the price & jumped on it, a very pretty feminine rose & candy apple sweet addition to my collection

I’m not sure I’ve ever come across a fruity floral skinscent until now. It’s like it’s not even there. I didn’t expect it to resemble the original at all, but I did expect something a little stronger. It progresses from a pretty, sweet rose at the opening to maybe some musk, then something pleasant that lingers on the skin.
It’s also very young. I’m 29 and feel far too old for it, but I would have loved this as a teenager. I think this would make a good choice for your 13-year-old daughter, or even younger actually, who doesn’t like sugary scents or wants the feel of a real perfume.
ETA: I take back a little of what I said. It’s actually quite pleasant to wear. It reminds me of the Incanto line but softer and little more polished. A nice change from the stronger scents.

I just… wow…. wanted to roll in it
I got a pleasant similarity to precioux with the sequinned box, pink juice.. also by givenchy: there are three of these…
Roses, clean, fresh, a little green… the musk must be supporting as I can’t clearly identify what musk on its own is like…
    No sharp edges to me
Not creamy or jammy so much, more on the clean side.
    Expensive in my country 🙁

Beautiful bottle, beautiful scent. But very overpriced for what it is. Especially considering I only see it sold at Duty free airports, which we all know is extremely expensive. Has a delicateness and freshness about it and isn’t as cloying as the original which I own and love, although weaker and more aquatic and watered down. The original is the classy matured woman who is educated and settled in life, this scent encapsulates the curiously wandering innocent young woman. Would definitely purchase if it wasnt £100. I could easily use it daily- light, not overbearing fresh and clean well put together scent.

When I first smell this, i can easily detect the rose which mix really well with the red apple sweetness.
It’s really appealing to me. But then it reminds me that there’s nothing special to it as I think I have smelled something like this before. But I admit I was fall in love on the first sniff so I tuck in the paper strip in my pocket.
Weirdly, when I reach home. I keep on sniffing the paper strip and without realizing it that I think I’m addicted with the smells.
It last awesomely well too, planning to get this. My next purchase definitely.

Crisp apple, very realistic rose, a bit of greens, soft musky base. If you want to smell roses garden in full bloom, give it a try. I think it’s a good scent for spring, summer and early autumn.
    Freshness in a bottle.
Update: A bit too much of an apple.

I have tried it several times and hoping each time that i will understand the concept behind this fragrance, but no…. each time i fail. To my nose this is such a synthetic mess of an artificial rose and musk combination and then there is a sweet apple thrown in. Such an acidic mess in my honest opinion and it also has a low sillage and quite weak lasting power. it does not share and original Eaudemoiselle DNA and to be honest i dislike it. Screechy unbalanced composition to my nose, im gld that someone likes it more than i do, but to me this is a miss than a hit
Please do not remove this comment, since others might find it useful. Not every review should be positive, so people like me wanted to make a blind buy might find it very informative. Thanks.

I just purchased this at The French section of Epcot at Disneyworld. The sales lady said it was exclusive to Epcot.
It is a nice rose but with plenty of fruit. It is pretty sweet but not gourmand. So far, I like it!
