Description

Eau de Glow is a new version of the original Glow perfume from 2002, otherwise known as the debut fragrance of the Latino pop star Jennifer Lopez. Eau de Glow comes out in early 2012 and is dedicated to and inspired by spring flowers, which spread an aura of delicate freshness, refinement and sophistication.

The composition is a sheer floral, conceived as the scent of freshly showered body that reveals the natural beauty and sensuality. Freshness of grapefruit and orange flower, aromas of rose, iris, jasmine and vanilla blend with the background of warm amber, musk and sandalwood.

Eau de Glow is available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

So much nicer than the original Glow. Everybody seemed to love it in the early 2000s, except me( even the little old grandma I worked with). But Glow always had a synthetic musky undertone that I couldn’t go for. Almost like a cleaning product. This one is prettier fresher and not synthetic. Glad this is cheap and if you wanted to like Glow but it was too heavy for ypu, give this a try.
Sillage is light to moderate but that’s my mind of scent anyway.

Ok. I know this is going to sound strange but I cannot even deal with the smell of musk of any kind. It is the grossest smell ever to me personally. So many great scents are ruined for me bc they must eventually turn to musk. It seems unnatural to me. Just in general, so many beautiful floral and even fruity scents seem to all end with musk. And since MUSK is the end note typically, that is what you have to smell all day after the good part wears off.
With all that being said, I have been on a couple year mission buying every well rated low, mid and top shelf frags that review as smelling “soapy.” That clean fresh smell just works for me. Naturally, the JLO Glow was one of the last on my extensive list to buy. When i got it in the mail it was heaven on earth aside from the overwhelming MUSK. Gross. I am getting used to musk bc there is no option aside from going without perfume all together, but the musk ruins it for me.
This one is Glow minus the yuck musk. I LOVE it. She answered my prayers releasing this version without the man aftershave musk. SO HAPPY. Am stocking up on this for sure.

It’s okay if you don’t like this one. Now that JLO is with Designer Parfums only see Glow on their site. Zero Glow flankers. Only 7 perfumes of her line showing. So, Eau De Glow gone be hard to find and I need to stockpile it so please feel free to hate on this and purchase something else. Thxu xoxo

It is a spot on beach scent!!! Very nice summery windy warm day on the beach smell; without the cheap suntan lotion note!

It’s important to read the original Glow reviews as it’s the must intro to the whole Glow concept. EdG is not the same as G, they are close but not the same. Vanilla and amber are more active participants in the G formula. Let’s say, Glow is a freshly showered person in a sexy tight white Tshirt going on a date or to a party, and EdG is a freshly showered person in a nice white Tshirt going out to lunch or running errands.

I blind bought Eau de Glow as I read the reviews here saying that it was a lighter less muskier interpretation of the original Glow. Unfortunately for me, lighter also means short-lasting and with a lower projection. It disappears three hours after spraying on skin. It’s also missing some flowers – to my nose anyhow – which makes it less pretty. I now understand why it’s cheaper than Glow – you literally have to douse yourself in it in order to make it through half a day.
I will not be repurchasing this one and I’ll be sticking to the original Glow – that one is sharper in the beginning, but it settles down after half an hour and becomes a pretty long-lasting clean scent.

I had (have!) both eau de Glow and Glow and didn’t realize they were NOT the same! Glow is heavier and more musky and eau is lighter and softer but they are both the same strenghth wise – I guess I mean both assert themselves equally well when worn – to the same degree. They just project themselves to the outside with the same boldness. I love them both. If I want more floral, love the rosiness of eau de glow then I wear this, and since it is late spring and warm it is just perfect for a day like this. At first I thougt maybe eau de Glow is too girly for me but I’m over that now, you should wear what you feel inside, and I feel like floral spring and eau de Glow is how I feel right now, light floral spring but not a shy, laid back type but bold “Hello, I’m here!” spring!”

Took me some time to get on with the JLO line. Went from critical of so many Glow flankers to buying them! Eau de Glow reflects the current expansion in my fume appreciation. Turns out Rose is a scent liked. Therefore, thusly, Powdery was able to be liked as well. Rose and Iris in Eau de Glow guarantee much powdery. Jasmine and citrus keep it fresh and crisp. Was NOT into soapy clean and do prefer an 80’s powerhouse that cause the earth to tremble with 20 or more notes! However, I am back in an office setting again and that requires courtesy of others which means non-offensive fragrances that stay closer to the skin. Jennifer Lopez has established herself as the soapy, clean and fresh Queen. Yes, she has sooo many fruity floral but, to me, her Glow flankers don’t go super sweet the way most do (and which, therefore, can’t be as easily worn in public by a grown adult. Mariah, I’m looking at you, girl. You, too, Britney. ha.) The woody here is the anchor, not the musk. The entire line is a great deal for the discount prices you can find these. Usually I can get a 3.3 oz bottle for just under $20. Personally, I prefer a scent that doesn’t last 10 – 12 hours. There are so many (sigh) in my wardrobe that the itch to switch happens within about 4 – 6 hours.
Later will review a couple of JLO’s floral woody musk perfumes which are truly delicious and delightful. Yes, took me a long time to go JLO. Soapy, clean and fresh can be fun and nobody seems to do it better than Miss Lopez.

I really, really wanted to like this. The original smells so nice on paper but amplifies the clean on my skin to industrial strength level. Recently found this for 12.99 @ TJ Maxx and blind bought it for kicks.
The first spray’s very similar to Sebastian Shaper hairspray. Then fairly quickly begins to smell clean and light and that’s a good thing. Unfortunately after an hour or two, my chemistry and this musk got into a minor disagreement and have since agreed to part ways.

Used to wear the original Glow when it was released during my college days, and I loved it! After going through a bottle I recently bought another one, and gave it to a friend who liked it because the same notes caused me headaches. Saw the Eau de Glow version yesterday while shopping and picked up hoping the lighter version would work for me, and thankfully it did! The scent is exactly the same, but much lighter for those whose aging bodies do not adjust well to perfume the way they used to. I was really bummed out that I couldn’t enjoy an all-time favorite until I discovered this. It made my day! Hopefully it can be easily found online after I go through this bottle.

the extremely heavy musk notes Glow contains are very hard for me to wear; it would give me headaches almost every time I wore it and I would even get sore and itchy skin where I sprayed it, so it’ll come as no surprise that I much prefer Eau De Glow over the original Glow. To my nose this updated version smells almost exactly the same to the original, except that the musk is much lighter and there is some iris mixed in with the florals in this edition. Because the musk is a lot softer and doesn’t shut my nose down I notice more of the other scent notes, so even though in one sense it’s the same fragrance, in the other it’s different.
I detect the short burst of lemon in the opening, and there is some orange alongside the orange blossom in the heart of the fragrance, which I didn’t notice in the original Glow. The other main difference in Eau De Glow is that the mix of soapy florals and grapefruit develop more without the musk to overpower them and, with the introduction of the iris to strengthen it, I notice the powdery element to the florals more as the fragrance begins to dry down into the base.
Glow’s sexy/fresh/clean tagline matches this fragrance much more then mentions of spring flowers; the combination of zesty fruits, soapy florals that turn powdery, and the teensiest trace of vanilla mingled in with the woodsy notes takes us from freshly energised, to something more intimate.
The longevity for Eau De Glow is excellent for a low-cost mass market release; it beats out similarly priced edp concentrations at over 7 hours before needing a topup.

Gave this away after a blind buy. I used to only wear it to the gym because it smells only of soap and powder.

Another dislike for me. Its kind of a generic, nothing special about it fragrance. I can’t say it’s bad as such, it just doesn’t stand out for me. Will be nice as a car freshner though.

@takeasniff the previous one you comment (with the shimmer) is a limited edition of Glow. Glow Shimmer. Eau de Glow is a different one 🙂

I got a bottle of this because I like the original glow but found the musk intensifies on me too much. When I tested this when it first came out it was an oily substance with a little bit of a shimmer in it. The bottle I got now is not oily and it does not have shimmer in it? Not sure what is going on there. This smells really nice and it lasts just as well as the previous one. I still find there to be a difference between the two on me personally. This is a simple scent no vanilla or cupcakes here and no citrus blast just as others have said it is a shower fresh smell a bit like the dove deoderants but not soapy. I didn’t get any powder at any stage but it is sweeter to me there is a touch of floral sweetness in this one compared to the previous one which was a sticky strong harsh musk. This one smells more feminine and a little flowery not so harsh. Some reviewers will say it is no different to the previous one but I really do disagree in this instance.

I might repurchase it. It is just like original Glow, only less heavy, an airier version with a lighter musk. You’ll have a fresh, shower-clean, floral scent following you all day. My sense of smell translates it as scent of soapy lilacs and lily of the valley mostly, but when i try i can distinguish actual notes of iris, jasmine, rose, neroli, grapefruit, musk, etc. It’s beautiful.

This is the EXACT same perfume as the original. EXACT! I’ve done a side by side review and I cannot detect even the slightest nuance of difference between this and the original from start to finish…
I think Jlo has us fooled!
    🙂

Both glow and eau de glow is really nice, comfy fragrances. But i like this one better, more fresh and light (feels lighter than glow but not weaker). Obviously the muskiness is gone, and seems to be more lasting… LIKE 🙂

A disappointment. I really wanted a clean fresh jasmine, a little powdery at the same time.. All i have gotten is faint heavily powdered jasmine with whifffs of neroli. I do understand tht iris is meant to be powderbomb, however its too much; so much so that i coughed each time i sniff at it.
I keep smelling it every 5 minutes in hopes that it will get better. It does become sharper with slight rosy twist but no vanilla. Little sillage and 1 hour of longevity.
Gonna finish my bottle and never think that i once had this.. sigh

I just looooooooooooooove this version! It’s almost similar to the original one, but it’s still has it’s own unique “touch” if you know what I mean!
It’s VERY long-lasting and the price is so good!

This one smells much better on me than the original Glow. They do smell almost exactly the same except eau de Glow is not as pungent to me as Glow.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

The original Glow is my signature scent, so my nose is keen to this range.
They smell identical to me, except Eau de Glow is missing that powdery punch in the top note, and maybe a rose or two. It really IS a “water of Glow.”
Same long-lasting sillage and soapy cleanness, but I much prefer the original.

    simplesmente sabão
precisa ser bem jovial, pois para aguentar o forte cheiro, precisa de muita energia.
depois acalma…bem depois…Jesus Cristo, não gostei nada disso.

Bought it yesterday and all I can say, is that it’s a fresh and light version of the original Glow. The original starts very powdery and after the drydown becomes a juicy neroli scent with roses, sandalwood and jasmine (more evident in hotter days). Eau de Glow starts a little less powdery and becomes a little less juicy than the original (and doesn’t change that much since the beginning), and more soapy. I think this one is more floral, and the other is more fruity-floral, though the notes are the same. I can say that this one is a reinterpretation of the original glow notes in other tones. Staying power and projection are good, but not as good as the original, since it’s cheaper.

Oh,love! Smells like the original Glow by J.Lo and I love it. Smell is kinda strong on my skin, but not too strong for me. And I love the soapy and powdery feel it. I think it’s very unique, I’ve never smelled another like Glow/Eau de Glow.
This is one of a kind fragrance to me.

  34. :

@Britney_Spears. My Glow and Glowing are not flakers of glow, they are new lines of fragrances by JLo. I Think eau de Glow is just a light and cheaper version of the original Glow.

  35. :

Eau de Glow is definately a bit different then the original Glow. The scent is much less musky and really a lighter version of Glow, it’s more fresh. I really love the original Glow, but I think it can be a bit too much sometimes because of the musk. Eau de Glow is really easier to wear.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I tested this today and I have to be honest it does smell a little different to the old one and believe me I am very accustomed to the smell as my Mother in Law drowns herself in it and I used to wear it a lot when it first came out. This new one dries fresher it doesn’t have such a strong musk to it so if the musk put you off the previous one then try this.
The perfume itself is an oily sort of substance and has a shimmer in it with sparkles. Not large chunks of sparkle glitter but a slight shimmer. It is very oily when first sprayed so I imagine it stays on longer and stronger if thats possible, than the first Glow. The whole package looks nicer and more current.
I like this because the musk was too acidic for me in the first version so now I can wear this and not worry about it. My Mother in Law likes the first one more but she likes Estee by Estee Lauder so that is her type of taste. I prefer the fresher version personally.
Having said this is different than the first one you would be hard pressed to notice the difference if you are not used to smelling the perfume. On first sniff they do smell the same but as I said I have been around this one since it first launched and it is different but only a suttle difference. The liquid is obviously completely different but the smell is similar.

  37. :

The smell it’s not the same as the original Glow. This version is more fresh, light and floral. The lasting power is great as the other one, 8 hours easily. For who doesn’t like the original one, should give this one a try.

  38. :

I cant smell any difference between Glow and Eau de Glow. The only difference is that the new frag bottle lost its jewel.

  39. :

I wonder if this will be as musky as the first one? I liked the first one but it would always dry to a strong musk which I was not too keen with. Reading the description it sounds like it is supposed to be a little lighter? Has anyone tested it and can tell the difference?

Smells exactly the same as Glow.

90 percent of her frags all have the same shape just different colors. at first i thought it was kitschy and cute but i’m at the point now where’s its like “wtf can’t you get more creative and put some real effort into this new scent?” i digress, have not actually smelt this but willing to take a whiff.

Oh I´m so looking forward to this 🙂 I have used a lot of the original Glow during the years, and tried almost all of her perfumes, as soon as I can.
Allthough the bottle looks like the original, withouth the jewelery piece.
