Description

Chanel launches the new fragrance CHANCE EAU VIVE which belongs to the Chanel Chance collection and arrives on the market on June 12th 2015. The collection was started with fragrance Chanel Chance in 2003, followed by versions Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche in 2007 and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre in 2010. The collection is refreshed with new flacon form at the beginning of this year, so the fragrances can also be purchased as 35 ml now.

CHANEL CHANCE EAU VIVE is signed by perfumer Olivier Polge who blends sparkling notes of grapefruit with juicy, explosive red orange, providing citrus splash to elegant jasmine and white musk. Base notes of the composition mix vetiver, cedar and iris, leaving a fresh, gentle, elegant and subtle trail.

Fragrance repeats the same flacon form as previous editions of the collection and will be available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

This is nice. I tried it with Eau Tendre and confused myself, but smelling it again today on skin and paper I can see that this is the tarter, sharper Chance with a woodsy note. I like it! But as I was driving home sniffing my wrists, I kept thinking of another fragrance I couldn’t place. It really bugged me until I got it – Eternity! It reminded me very much of Calvin Klein Eternity in the drydown. Which I always liked smelling on someone back in th day though I never owned it myself. I like this better than original Chance. So I’m done with my Chance exploration. I enjoyed them but I will go back to my granny scents now, and leave these for the younger generation. 🙂

This is mature but playful, bubblegumish at first and then it melts to the same vibe as omnia indian garnet (bvlgari) to me.I don’t like it on paper but I love it’s aura when sprayed on clothes.Very longlasting also.

I love Eau Vive, and it reminds me a lot of (Clinique Happy Heart 2003) which I use to wear in 2005 but when I tried this Chance Eau Vive I remembered the scent of (clinique happy heart) immediately.
No wonder if Olivier Polge is the same perfumer behind both of them.
And I ALSO find some similarities with his (Chanel GABRIELLE) to Chance EAU VIVE, to me very similar 🙂 And I love them all.

This starts out as a bright citrus, but becomes a jasmine scent. Very well-blended. Ends up as a slightly bitter citrus skin scent.
I don’t get a masculine vibe from this, it’s pretty feminine IMO. The original Chanel Chance is unisex, but this leans feminine IMO.

You can’t go wrong with a bit of Chanel can you? Fresh, feminine, clean, a little woodsy but not too much, slightly powdery – just enough, and delicious enough to wear anywhere. You can’t not like it and it smells expensive. The perfect smell for the classy feminine women. Love it.

Fun, makes me think of the word “lucky”.
Sadly fades away quicker than I’d expect from any Chanel fragrance.
Starts out sparkling, fresh, fruity and ends up smoky.

    This is amazing !
Let me just say that everyone can find their Chance fragrance ! Mine is this one . If you love fresh floral musky fragrances that last then this for you. Great for all occasions and longer lasting than many EDP’s ! Uplifting like the name ‘LIVING WATER’ ! I have the 150 ml bottle . Worth every penny!

VIVE starts very citrusy and tropical , a blast of orange ,grapefruit and clean musk ,vibrant , sweet and warm. I love the cedar and iris in the base and how clean and classy and refreshing it feels.
I bought a bottle 3 years ago when it came out and misplaced it somehow. The other day I smelled this on a friend and was shocked how good it was. Why don’t I wear this I thought ,,I hunted for my bottle the whole day. Still couldn’t locate it , so I had to go out and buy a new one. I also got the dry spray oil which is phantastic! After my shower I spray the oil all over me which moisturizes beautifully and leaves me feeling fresh and smelling like orange and musk. I top it up with 3 sprayes of VIVE and I am set. Many compliments by my family ,it makes me want the EDP Chance now. All the chances have something in comon. Different aspects are inhanced. Here the citrus woody and fresh musky notes are lifted to the foreground. There also is a unisex masculine vibe . A classy cologne vibe.

    Lightly sweet and refreshing.
New chypre, modern one. It’s fresh and slightly sweet. Nice, young etc……Just poor longevity and sillage on me. I am testing it in summer time.

I love Chanel vive , it’s so refreshing, sexy and the fragrance is just vibrant and juicy. The blood orange is divine and it wears beautifully on me, of all the chances vive is for me. Soapy and clean equals win

In eau vive I feel the hyacint in the drydown which I dont feel in the tendre version. The tendre version has a detergent note that I dont like. Eau vive is modern, fresh, young and funny yet chic and bon ton in its own way. Of course its very different from the Chanel classics, but its a valid modern offer of the brand.

I’m not a big fan of citrus, though I can appreciate a good one (Chance eau fraiche). That said Chance eau vive is so very forgettable and unremarkable. Doesn’t have Chanel’s usual crispness, dry-down is musty and has rather masculine quality (and not in the good way).
Certainly not worth the high price.

It opens with a blast of blood orange, and grapefruit, then turns into a fizzy orange smell for a while. As time goes by it becomes pretty and floral, like a smell of delicate spring flowers, which is possibly the iris or jasmine. Like all Chanel perfumes it develops. and changes as you are wearing it. At one point I though the smell might just fade away but it’s still here a few hours later. It’s quite subtle but I’m sure it would be a beautiful day time fragrance to own. I’m quite to try one of the Chance fragrances but I’m not sure which one yet.

As Chanel Chance Eau Tendre smells something like the Original Daisy by Marc Jacobs this one also smells something like one of its flankers. Although Im not exactly sure which one anymore as Daisy got a looot! This doesnt seem to have Patch unlike most Chanel perfumes. So to those who hates Patch notes in their fragrances. This is the Chanel for you. This also tends to be a little masculine to some skin chemistry such as mine with some citrus notes. In totality not a bad perfume. Longetivity is, even if you wash yourself you can still smell it.

This is my favourite of the Chance series. First of all -no pathouli (!) which is always a difficult note for me, devouring all the other notes on my skin. Second; a lovely, sweet, moderate citrus, refreshing but not the turbo kind, that will make your eyes water and get you thinking about home maintenance products. Third; a classic drydown of white musk/cedar/iris giving the scent elegance and grace.
I don’t mind the (expensive) shampoo/ fresh out of shower comparisons, these are the reasons why I bought the scent! ;-D
I would recommend this to all in search of an uplifting and fresh spring scent with a classic vibe who find most of the citrus opening scents too harsh or without a proper base. This scent will tenderly enliven your senses and bring you to summer.
Ps:In the northenmost Europe where I live (and the summer temperatures rarely exceed 25°C) this would be a wonderful summer scent as well.

Out of the three sisters (gorgeous Eau Tendre, cold crisp Eau Fraiche) I find this the least appealing. I mean, its name is so majestic, but the smell, well… A shy attempt of an Allure.
It has the headache factor as well. The other sisters-pretty safe blind buys. This one please try it before hand.
    I wish I hadn’t blind bought it.
Later edit: I decided to give it a serious try. It is a Chanel, at the end of the day…
So, each and every single time I’m wearing this, someone asks me what I am wearing, as it smells really nice.
So, yes – Allure – but a friendlier Allure. Lasts about 6 hours and leaves a nice citrusy trace. Works great on a spring chilly day. Office friendly – absolutely.
I think it works well for a gentleman as well.

I am so mad at you guys right now! How can a perfume this nice be this underrated?? It should be right there next to Eau Tendre, not all the way on the bottom with the hair mists!
I am a huge fan of Eau Tendre to the point where I was like “I love you so much I need another flanker of you!” The Eau Tendre hair mist was too redundant And I didn’t like the Original Chance that much, couldn’t find anyplace that sells Chance EDT to test, and Eau Fraiche was a little bit too ‘fraiche’ if you know what I mean, but Eau Vive is sooooo perrrrrfeeeeccct!!! If I could put emojis here there would be a million swooning heart emojis right now.
Okay, basically let’s start with Eau Tendre, remove the sweet quince note and the hyancinth, (but leave juuust a little bit of hyacinth, even though it isn’t listed) and tart it up with a bit of sweet, dainty, flowery blood orange and you have eau Vive. They are that similar. If scents were colors and Eau Tendre is a soft pastel pink, Eau Vive is a soft pastel apricot-peach color. This is what I expect when I deal with flankers, that it remain similar enough to be recognizably in the same family but with a great twist and the blood orange does exactly that. And it’s a very delicate, dainty, girly blood orange. It doesn’t give that FRESH SPORT vibe many citruses can bring. In the dry-down, there is the tartness of a real fresh strawberry that adds a new dimension to the mix. It’s not gourmand candy strawberry, it’s the real deal, the actual just-bitten fruit smell.
Anyone who loves Eau Tendre needs Eau Vive in their lives, to be honest. Maybe people don’t want to give it a chance because it was made by “Polge Jr.” rather than master perfumer Jacques Polge but that’s just silly. Olivier Polge has a lot of perfumes under his belt now and though his Gabrielle was a disappointment, Eau Vive is still so good, it’s seriously blind-buy worthy.

One of my most complimented clean out of shower non-complicated perfumes. Both women and men love this. It radiates beautifully around me… and others can smell it when they are near. I can smell a LOT of grapefruit and some lovely flowers. Such a crowd pleaser. It’s winter here in the UK and this smells fab! Lasts next day on clothes and about 6 hours on my skin! Eau Vive somehow puts a spring in my step, makes me feel “young” and happy. Out of all the Chanel Chance flankers hubby loves this one the most with second being Eau Fraiche…. and that one is another crowd/compliment getter! Just need to get the matching body lotion now! Ohhhh Me and Chanel ….Totally in love… 🙂 X

Ok so earlier I reviewed this, and at the time I figured it was a scent that was nice, but one that was so-so & I’d never buy the bottle…I was wrong.
This scent is so fresh I had to get it! Not only is this a great as a year-round scent, Chanel managed to make Eau Vive a powerhouse in longevity and sillage. Really though, after all the reformulations going on and the weakness of some current fragrances, Eau Vive is not a weak one.
This opens up with a blast of aquatic and zesty citrus notes mixed with a faint but present white floral, which stays around for quite some time. However, in the dry down, the borderline masculine-type woodiness comes to play along with the smooth white musk.
Descriptors that I think entail this scent include aquatic, bright, zesty, but also grounded with the woodiness.

This opens with a strong citrus, a tiny bit masculine. It was a gift and I put it in the back of the closet feeling it was too strong for me.
It’s November now, and I decided to try it again. I put it on, and the citrus was there, but it smoothed out. After a short while it took on an expensive make-up scent– nice, powdery. Good for running around or a night out.

I really have trouble appreciating this. So much overwhelming, reigning, pure, loud citrus. I can smell almost nothing else. Some faint flowers on the background after a couple of hours, and the drydown is quite generic. This could be literally any youth perfume. It opens really sharp and, well, citrusy and also quite masculine. On the other hand, it’s not a BAD perfume, it’s just quite unimaginative, but it might flatter some lucky ladies with a sporty style, in a hot summer day, quite well. Chanel Chance is quite a hit and miss for me, with Eau tendre smelling like Daisy and this, like any (well balanced) air freshener.

Finally got my hands on a bottle! Eau vive is breathtaking. I think I may like this more than eau tendre. Star note is grapefruit, with other citrus nuances. I also smell Jasmine. Eau vive is a fresh citrus scent with Jasmine undertones. If we were to categorize chance eau tendre vs eau vive, I’d say eau tendre is the younger carefree sister whereas eau vive is serious, knows what she wants but does know how to have a good time when she feels it’s appropriate.
Edit: it’s been over a month since I wrote this review and I’m still obsessed with eau vive. I’ve had a few perfume that I was crazy about but a week or two later I’d be bored. There is something about eau vive that I absolutely love. I’d compare the feeling to when you fall in love with someone and you just know in your heart that they are ‘the one’. That’s how I feel about eau vive. I’ve loved many others, but this is irreplaceable. I assume this is how one finds their signature scent; they just get that feeling of knowing that this is it! Just like a relationship, when I’m not wearing eau vive, I’m thinking about it, comparable to missing your significant other.
Also, there is nothing else that smells just like eau vive, yet another reason she is so very signature worthy.

Wow, what a beautiful addition to the Chance line! I haven’t been a fan of other Chances in the past .. I found them much too citrusy with a strong dose of woody musk (very much like sour body odor).
This one is quite interesting with its notes, and I feel how they present themselves (on my skin, at least) is a little all over the place. It opens with a light, fresh citrus note, but that fades after about 30 minutes to reveal a naturally sweet, white floral mixed with a nice bit of musk (very Chanel-y). Then, after several hours of wear, it returns to citrus with musk. This citrus-musk base is both fresh and heavy. Certainly not a bad revelation of notes, just odd and unexpected, which I suppose adds a bit of charm to the scent.
Sillage and longevity are pretty good. I think this is a light perfume that will work best in the spring and summer. I’ve already put this on my wishlist and plan to purchase a bottle next spring.
*NOTE: Oh my goodness! This is probably the third time I’ve edited this review. This perfume is a conundrum. Each time I wear it, I notice something different – sillage, longevity, note characteristics, etc. I still enjoy it, but because it blossoms differently each time I wear it, I highly recommend getting a nicely sized sample and testing it over several days.

Wow, Chanel…they put Eau Vive in the Chance line, what, I think it’s the fifth one or so, they gave it a pale pink color, and made it out to be an easy, bright citrus perfume…so of course I ignored it until very recently. I was not expecting to think much of this, as I though it would be a weak, fleeting, ‘non-offensive’ type of scent.
So you know where I’m going, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I love when I’m wrong like this! Eau Vive does have a lot of citrus notes, but they are VERY long lasting on my skin, with the lighter/bitter grapefruit notes on top, and the heavier/denser/sweeter blood red oranges thorough the heart. The blood orange notes last hours on my skin, and eventually they co-mingle with the jasmine, which is thick and full and even a little bit skanky. The iris note shows up as Eau Vive begins to drydown. The dry down is what really blew me away, as it is NOT an insipid ‘citrus cologne’ base, not at all, it is primarily a woody vetiver and dry iris, with a lot of sandalwood, incense, and musk thrown in for good measure.
Some reviewers comment that the base is too ‘masculine’ and I do see what they mean–the woody base is STRONG and assertive, and yeah, if you’re a woman who doesn’t like woody perfumes, then you’re not going to dig this. Really I am surprised at the strength, character, and tenacity of the base, it’s the best part for me. It’s a confidence wood, that vetiver-iris-sandalwood just spells confidence.
And the performance? Amazing!! Lasts on my skin ALL DAY, I even refrained from doing a retouch when I wore this the other day, just to see how long it would really last. It went a good 12 hours with say 4 to 6 sprays. I notice that if I catch a bit of Eau Vive on my clothing, I get nice hints of blood orange and jasmine throughout the wear, while after about 4 hours on the skin it dries down into that fabulous vetiver/iris base.
Awesome job Chanel! I am genuinely excited to have found this.

This is my most favourite scent right now. I don’t care other Chanels that I know (except Cristalle edp, Cristalle eau Verte, and 19 Poudre) though I have 14 of them. Guerlain is my favourite house. This has citruses ( I love that blood orange), iris, vetiver and no vanilla, no patchouli. It is just so delicious, classy, sweet but not too much, fresh, feminine… and it lasts.
    I like the bottle too
When I smelled it first time from a sample I was given, I didn’t gave it much attention, because it seemed another generic smell. But later I really fell in love with it.

I bought this because it smelled so beautiful on the girl at the register. On me however it never developed. Very boring. My sisters came to visit me and on both of them that bottle that was so boring on me developed into an absolutely beautifully scent on them. I gave it to them. Chanel perfumes either work terrible with my chemistry or never develop into anything memorable or beautiful. I have bought so many different ones or tried them and they have all failed me. Only coco mademoiselle kinda of workstuff for me but it still smells much nicer on my mom.

It breaks my heart to see such negative reviews about this fragrance. This is my MOST FAVOURITE and MOST COMPLIMENTED fragrance ever!! It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. You just have to give it the right chance.
Eau Vive, roughly translates to “Living Water” and I completely agree!! It’s never mellow and never understated. It starts off with a beautiful grapefruit/blood orange note and dances and sashays its way to the woody accords. But the beauty of it is, the fruity floral notes never leaves you! It continues to dance through the woods and take your by surprise.
When I wear Eau Vive I think of what it feels like to go to the Russian Ballet Center to watch a recital of Swan Lake. The way those dancers move so gracefully yet grabbing your attention and taking you by complete surprise! It’s a wonderful first perfume in the house of Chanel by the son of the Guru, Olivier Polge. Props to him for that. People always say that Olivier has not created as much as Jacques.. which is crazy in my opinion. Here’s a list of perfumes created by Olivier which might right a bell!
    Dior Homme
    Dior Pure Poison
Dolce & Gabbana The One for men
    Armani Code for Women
Jimmy Choo for Women (and all its flankers)
Lancome La Vie Est Belle (and many of its flankers)
    Paco Robanne Invictus
    Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
DONT BE SO HARSH ON HIM. Many of these fragrances have been hit sellers for years!
Don’t give up on Eau Vive, take a chance on it! (No pun intended.) Don’t test it on a strip of paper. Get yourself a sample and wear it from morning till night. You will come to love it, I just know it!
ALSO have you noticed? There’s NOTHING else that smells like it!

I gave Eau Vive another shot after it sat unloved and mostly forgotten for over a year in my closet. I’d fallen in love with it a couple of years ago, spraying it on every chance I’d get as I passed by the Chanel counter at work in the mornings. Once I had my own bottle, though, I realized I didn’t love it so much… There were simply other ‘fumes I’d reach for, and it got to where I forgot I even had it in my collection. Yesterday, I decided to test it out again. It was a hot summer day. At first, I recalled what made me love it in the first place, those sparkling citruses and the slight masculine edge. It lasted through the stifling hot day, and the sillage was incredible. However, the base let me down. The drydown was too masculine for my taste, with dry cedar and heavy vetiver drowning out the citruses. It was slightly repulsive. Every once in a while, the citruses would shine through, but it seemed like the various notes weren’t quite meant for one another. Or perhaps citruses just don’t settle well on my skin. Either way, I’m not sure I want to hold onto this quite full bottle.

I am baffled at the reviews that say that this does not last. Like most Chanels, this is a sillage bomb, and it lasts forever on my skin! Two sprays and everyone in your vicinity will be able to smell you. Any more than that and you will suffocate people around you. Like the entire Chance line, this is a heady, potent juice that expands around you and lingers for a long time on skin and clothes. It starts with a gorgeous blast of blood orange that quickly dries to bitter citrus zest, musk, vetiver and jasmine. The overall effect is of a musky soap bar with bitter citrus notes hovering over it. It has a clean unisex feel that borders on masculine, and it stays fresh and clean throughout the day, which I love. It’s also very, very elegant, with that unmistakable Chanel vibe. I obtained a sample a Sephora a few months ago, when the weather was still cold. Did not care for it then. Now that the weather is warm, I began wearing it everyday after my morning shower and find it perfect for me. The warm weather really brought out the beauty in this juice! Once my sample is done, I am going to purchase a full bottle to wear during the Summer. I got several compliments while wearing this, which does not hurt. Happy sniffing!

Chance Eau Vive managed to sneak into the Chance range without much of a fuss. I think it’s possibly one of the least raved about Chanel releases for a long time. You wouldn’t even know it existed unless you spent a considerable amount of time perusing the Chanel counter.
I have a love-hate relationship with the Chance collection. I owned Chance EDT for a few years before selling it on to someone that would enjoy it far better than me. I don’t mind Chance Eau Fraiche, however I would never purchase a full bottle, and I find Chance Eau Tendre a little too similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy. Chance Eau Vive is my second favourite from this collection and that’s saying something.
This fragrance is quite refreshing and crisp on the skin with biting citrus accords such as, grapefruit and blood orange. Chance Eau Vive is definitely a Spring/Summer fragrance. The scent could be worn by both men and women as the scent is neither sweet nor feminine. It actually contains a rather sharp, masculine vetiver accord which becomes more apparent in the drydown.
Unfortunately grapefruit dominant fragrances don’t work with my chemistry which quickly cancels out this fragrance as a potential warm weather scent for my collection. I don’t think Chance Eau Vive is Chanel’s best fragrance, but in saying that I wouldn’t mind smelling this scent on other people in close proximity.
For an EDT, Chance Eau Vive does last considerably well on the skin. I am interested to see how this fragrance fares with the die-hard Chanel fans and collectors.

I’ve worn it yesterday, on a very hot day and in my opinion, this is the only Chanel perfume that is wearable on such a day. All the other ones are too musky or have too much patchoeli for (very) warm days. I guess it’s the citrus that does the trick. But though it opens with a citrus blast, this citrus fades quite fast. I agree with the fact that this isn’t such a complex fragrance as most Chanel perfumes are. Still, what happens after the big citrusy burst, is quite interesting. On my skin, the different notes aren’t very noticable. They blend together and it’s like they are very lightley sparkeled with some citrus.
It definitely has the Chanel signature.
Somtimes I reconise the orginal Chance and sometimes I notice a tiny bit of Coco Mademoiselle but with citrus instead of patchoeli.
I also layered it with Coco Mademoiselle body lotion which worked very well. Another prove of the Chanel signature.
So although I like fruity-florals in the summer, I sometimes miss my Chanel perfumes on those hot days. N°19 is one that is sometimes wearable on a hot day but it’s a tricky lady. One day it works in the sun, the other day it becomes way too woody/herbal.
So like I already said: Eau Vive is the only one for me that really works during hot days.
I’m very happy to have found a Chanel for those days when I want to have something more classy, more mature than the ‘classic’ summer fragrances.
Another reason why I’m happy with this perfume, is that I got tired of Coco Mademoiselle. I still think it’s a great perfume but in my country, every other woman and their sister is wearing it. Chance is also quite populair.
So I’ve been looking for something different with more or less the same DNA. And Coco Noir and Chance Eau Vive are the ones: Chanel without a doubt but different from what most women are wearing.
The only downside is the longevity. It radiates within arm lenght for about half an hour. After that, it stays close to the skin. But I guess that’s what must ‘summer fragrances’ do. My only ‘summer fragrance’ that doesn’t do that, is J’adore. But maybe it’s also because I’m used of wearing quite heavy perfumes. So layering it with body lotion is probably a good idea as it gets indeed pricy when you have to re-apply this too many times during a day.

2 years ago I got this as a birthday gift. 2 years later, I’m finally halfway through my 100ml bottle and my hearts breaking a little. This without a doubt is my FAVOURITE Chanel fragrance, followed closely by Coco Mademoiselle. It’s bright, fresh, sparkling and just gorgeous! This without a doubt is my all time favourite fragrance, also followed very closely by Versace Eros pour Femme. Since I live in a hot tropic, it’s very rarely that I indulge in my YSL manifesto or Lancôme la vie est belle. I reserve Number 5 along with those for December or when I’m traveling to the hills or anywhere colder. Chance Eau vive is PERFECT for hot tropical weather but what I’ve noticed is that even when worn in colder weather, it brings about a dark baroque very Chanel-esque vibe and it’s breathtaking! So if you’re from somewhere colder than the SUPER hot tropic of Sri Lanka, don’t be afraid to get this. And no. It’s absolutely NOT a basic fresh smelling musky smell. It’s truly a work of art as Olivier Polge always does! Excited and awaiting to get my nose on Number 5 L’Eau! Sad to be late to that party!

This is the original Chance with a strong splash of grapefruit! Not quite as youthful as it sounds. Instead, the grapefruit feels a bit aged, mature. Definitely still suitable for a young lady in her 20s (or even younger), but it doesn’t just feel like youth and life and brightness as “eau vive” might imply.

It was more than a year that I had this sample of chance eau vive and I was never eager to try it.back then I wasn’t a Chanel girl.I also disliked citrus and woody scent but lately I’m loving any Chanel perfume I try so I had to give a go to eau vive
It opens very citrusy ad it’s expected.I can easily pickup grapefruit and blood orange.well I have to confess it’s citrus opening is lovely and is one of the rare citrus scents I enjoy
Usually sour, sharp, zesty citrus scent give me toothache.in eau vive citruses are very natural and fresh but they’re not screechy and they have a little amount of sweetness to make them pleasant for me
It’s a shame that this lovely citrus burst, fades away in less than 20 minutes.they were such refreshing, full of energy and happyness that I wanted them to last in fore front for hours not just linger lightly beneath middle and Base notes.good that it’s other phase is also lovely.I can’t detect much of iris but I can pickup musky jasmine which I loved so much in chance edp and even other chanels.there’s also a hint of vetiver.I don’t see eau vive as a very girly scent as it’s soapy woody drydown has an adult and even a slight masculine vibe.on the other hand it’s youthful opening make it a good choice for young generation so I see it as a fragrance wearable for a wide age range
I enjoy it’s lovely, fresh citrus opening.also I like it’s clean and classy soapy musk-jasmine-vetiver scent so I thought I have to add to my wishlist just like chance edp and tender but now that I’m smelling my hand(4 hours after application) there’s a strong cedar note(orangey cedar) which ruins both feminity and cleanness of the drydown.it’s a skin scent now but I don’t want this strong cedar even on my skin
I have to try it more and see whether I really want it considering it’s price tag or not

Very basic on the citruses, more acrid than Eau Tendre, girly, fresh and summery, a cute and lovely fragrance. Sparkles in the morning. The fragrance does turn floral on the skin as well, some mixing of jasmine and iris, and then it’s reminiscent of Eau Premiere. If you like Eau Premiere, you will like Eau Vive as well. Layered they are also beautiful.
It’s okay. Nothing special but not totally uninteresting. Teens will be happy wearing it.

Eau Vive is very fresh even in its musk and wood dry down notes. The zesty citrus opening is sadly gone in a flash, but the heart and bottom are good too if exceedingly short-lived. They lack the joyful blast that opens this fragrance, but they’re fresh and mildly sweet.
Eau Vive is quite young and feminine – girlish rather than womanly. It’s not a groundbreaking fragrance, but you can’t expect that from a flanker. Eau Vive is evocative of Versace Eros, but I prefer to Eros overall. This one has greater longevity and more complex heart note.

This needs to be with you for a few days before you can actually start loving it or hating it as at the beginning it smells quite generic… I am in love with it now after a week! it’s fresh and fruity, a little bit floral and musky and it gives me a really nice and happy feeling when I spray it on me…I feel energized!
The only thing is it doesn’t last long on your skin, but add a little spray on your clothes and you will get a lot of compliments!

Yeah, this is hairspray to me. Not even an expensive kind. Like some grocery store brand I used as a teenager.
Granted, I didn’t let it dry on my skin….I couldn’t get that far.
To make it worth getting passed the initial sharp blast, it would have to mix with my chemistry in such a way that it turned into a damn unicorn.
There are much better ones than this overpriced bottle of Aquanet. No offense to anyone that likes it, could just be me and my picky nose! (No pun intended)

Much more aquatic/melon than I expected based on the notes. Sadly not for me.

Was at the Chanel store an hour ago to sniff the latest flanker. For some reason it really reminds me of the pricey air freshener i once used for my car. I must say though that it is zesty and orangey, something that will wake you up but it is not compelling enough to make me puchase it. In the end, i bought the eau fraiche and the No. 5 eau premiere.

I will start off by saying that aquatics/citrus scents never go over well on my skin. They always tend to develop a “sharp” quality that is screechy to my nose. My friend on the other hand smells absolutely divine with clean perfumes. My exchange student came to visit and brought a bottle of this with her. She ended up leaving it for me because she had bought the wrong one. Needless to say I really wanted it to work on me. Chanel has some fabulous marketing and some really nice perfumes. The bottles have to be my favorite, such a clean and beautiful design. I tried it on today and let it wear on my skin and I seemed to be right on the verge of a headache. For such a simple citrus perfume this stuff was POTENT on me.The grapefruit seemed to just scream at everyone I came in contact with. Had to wash this off sadly. Smells lovely in
