Eau Blanche is an uncomplicated fragrance that smells fresh, green and bright. The tea note is fresh and cool and comes off minty on my skin. Mixed with the lovely bergamot and the citruses it’s bright and fresh like a morning in a Mediterranean garden with citrus trees, mint and basil and a jasmine bush as well. I love the ginger note also because it is prominent but it doesn’t take over in a harsh way. It blends seamlessly into a gorgeous fresh bright whole.
This perfume takes me to that happy garden, having a cup of iced green tea by the sea and makes me smile every time I smell it. It doesn’t have much longevity sadly, only lasts about 3 hours before becoming a total skin scent, but I’m happy to re-spray this delightful gem. Bright, uplifting, natural smelling, altogether marvelous on my skin. Another winner from Brecourt.

I can’t help thinking about my herb garden when I smell this. It’s a mixture of basil and lemon balm. Should last longer for it’s price though.

A fantastic and lovely opening. Spicy and refreshing tea + citrus combo, which smells extremely lovely and mouthwatering. One might expect from the notes generic citrus fragrance, but this is much more. It feels, I must say, even sexy as the tea and ginger mingles around the citrusy notes and adds so much needed “twist” to the fragrance bouquet.
There is almost no other notes than citrus/ginger/tea, so basically this is kinda linear, so this doesn’t strike as something unique and breath taking, this is more of a crowd pleasing everyday scent as not everything we wear must be unique. This is perfect for hot days in office, beach or whatever, unoffensive, pleasing, refreshing and simply nice.

Brecourt EAU BLANCHE hits me as a cross between an average tea fragrance and an average citrus floral fragrance. It’s not as rich as the best of either category but reminds me a bit of Banana Republic W in its citrus florality and a bit of one of the Bvlgari tea fragrances in its tea-fulness. Not very exciting actually. As a result, I’m not really inspired to say much more about it here, and I’m sure that I won’t be seeking it out. If I had a bottle, I might spray it on while dashing out the door. Then again, why not wear W instead?
Perhaps there are nuances and virtues which I am missing. Then again, maybe not.

Oh, wow the ginger is a monster on me with this one!
While actually Ok in quality it’s quite relentless, I’d certainly have preferred the more restrained and ‘blended-in’ type.
Tea is disappointing, I would’ve liked the richer version- again lack of amber/bourbon vanilla in the base can be to blame. It opens alright, but the ‘designer-esque’ lemon is seriously disappointing. I thought it was all about the ‘tart grapefruits’ now? The ubiquitous bergamot and mandarin citrus combo does not quite help either! Why not use a little adventurous orange instead, or sweet plum/blackcurrant? Lack of an ambery base mean the perfume is almost too ‘airy’ – unbalanced basically, and the ginger runs rampant dominating the other notes.
Simply seems an unfinished scent to me, and I also cannot help but not shake of that ‘designer vibe’ I got with Esprit Mondain.
Sorry, but I’ll have to be harsh on this one, as lack of amber seriously affects how all the other notes function as a whole. And what’s wrong with having the liquid gold of notes in a scent, ubiquitous is it may be?
    2/5.

When I first tested Eau Blanche on my wrist I had no high hopes – citrusy scents tend to smell chemical on my skin. I could just as well use toilet cleaners as perfume …
When I spray Eau Blanche on I get a burst of citrus notes. Surprise!: Not chemical at all. There are more natural ones but this one is still fine. Mainly Lemon and Mandarin Orange, the Bergamot soft in the background. It comes out with the Middle notes.
The Middle is definetly dominated by Ginger. I expected something different – the Ginger isn’t spicy but very gentle. Unfortunately the Jasmine is weak and never stands out. The Tea leaves are giving the fragrance a pleasant hint of aromatherapy, very relaxing and subtle.
Even the Base is dominated by Ginger notes, but not as much as in the Middle. Cedar and Musk make it kind of a Floral Citrus Musk scent. At this time the citrus notes are still noticeable, underlining the Ginger in a nice way without being annoying.
All in all Eau Blanche is a fresh, clean and citrusy fragrance with floral hints. It’s perfect for spring and summer, even hot days. Lasting power is about 6 hours and not overpowering at any time. If you want a straight scent for daily use without any edges you can’t go wrong here.
