Description

Dubai provides inspiration for the New York-based brand Bond No9 which promotes the Dubai Collection with three new fragrances Dubai Ruby, Dubai Emerald and Dubai Indigo in luxurious flacons with characteristic star-shape. The new fragrances arrive in transparent glass flacons in red, blue and green color, covered in gold color metal creating the shape of door on the flacon, which can be seen on beautiful Arabic palaces. Metal shuttering with its perforated slits create ornaments through which you can see the body of the bottle and discreetly passing light.

BOND NO 9 DUBAI RUBY is characteristic for its oriental-floral composition embellished with spices. Top notes abound in saffron with shades of Artemisia and bergamot. The heart is floral, created of rose, magnolia and geranium, while the base is warm and subtle, created of a blend of myrrh, amber, sandalwood, cypriol and civet. The perfume can be obtained as 100ml Eau de Parfum.
Dubai Ruby was launched in 2015.

Several months ago, I picked up a discovery atomizer of Bond No. 9 Dubai – Ruby in hopes that I would finally find a Bond No. 9 scent which is worthy of purchase. I’ve sampled (and owned) many from this house and none have stood the test of time on my shelves. The short end of the story is that I will be purchasing a full bottle when my discovery atomizer is empty (and no, it is not worthy of the $550 full retail price.) It opens citrusy and tangy then segues almost immediately to a fruity, slightly-candied, tart and rosey scent. There is a delicate touch of animalics present as we approach the spicy-dense-warm-woody-soft-powdery (floral) and addictive dry down. Dubai Ruby is versatile in that it has a fresh component appropriate for warmer weather and it also has some significant depth in the base which many individuals seek in their perfumes in the cooler months. The fragrance is tenacious and will project easily over the course of an 8 hour shift. My rating is an overall 9.5/10

Alexandria Fragrances does this for 16 bucks with their perfume oil, White Oud. Extremely similar scent, performance, and quality. Just a friendly tip.

This is a pleasant light scent for spring/summer, day and night. Very safe and friendly smell, totally unisex. It also has the Bond No9 DNA, which means that it reminds me various scents from the same house. So this is not a new smell for me.
The mild spicy and powdery rose is the big boss along with saffron, geranioum and mild sandalwood. The castoreum is very safe and toned down and it blends nicely with the rest notes. As some reviewers say, there are traces of dark woody note, the Bond’s “oud” at the background but it doesn’t play big role.
Performance is moderate overall. Longevity is above the average. Ruby is safe and pleasant but not something new or different.

i can definitely smell the rose and the oud right away. I haven’t worn it all day but it seems to be holding its own right now. I think u have to really have a nose for expensive fragrances to appreciate this one though. i cant say its my favorite out of the dubai collection but it’s doing its job!

I like this but I can understand why it’s not for everyone. One spray is all it takes as it is incredibly powerful. If Sasquatch went to Saks, he would grab a bottle. This is wild.

Hmmmm…smells like a cross of the rose/oudish from oud ispahan with a dash of civit from leather oud…both by Dior and both so much better….smells good, but it’s already been done…
    Smell 7/10
    Projection 6/10
    Fortitude7/10
Full bottle worthy…no thanks, nothing new and at 550$ it’s ridiculously over priced. You could get a bottle each of the Dior, which are infinitely better, and still have enough for a nice dinner…

This is a wonderfully complex and perfectly well executed perfume. I get a Musky civet with rose, saffron, sandalwood and lots of other lovely, luxurious things. I even get a hint of the sweet, synthetic oud, that Bond signature scent creeping in, as I do with many scents from this house. However, I’m not detecting anything which sets this one apart from loads of other decent, high end fragrances. The bottle is cool, granted but I still think the price is high, even for me. I’ll pass…but I’m not dissing the juice it smells great.

Dubai Ruby is a unisex sensual fragrance housed in a beautiful gold & red star shaped bottle; very nice indeed!
It evokes a blend of East meets West on a hot summer night; I would swear there is a blend of gardenia/tuberose & rose in the heart similar to B9; again very beautifully done.
I have sampled it a few times and am finding the longevity a little bit shorter than most Bonds; was it meant to be worn in Hot Dubai weather?
I shall carry on using my sample until I understand the fragrance a bit better.
I wonder if a Tola oil might become available in the future for cooler weather use to ensure usual Bond longevity.
    Thumbs up!

This is very similar to Bond’s Manhattan to me. Just a tiny bit more animalic. I’m not a huge fan of Manhattan, but this is slightly more enjoyable. Lasts forever, of course, and BIG sillage. I can’t imagine shelling out the extra cash over Manhattan though.
