Dreams of Smoke is such a deep, complex and meditative fragrance. Smoky tea, rich spices, flowers and the sweetness of vanilla and honey combine for a gourmand, freshly-brewed-cup-of-tea effect. (The best part of tea is its smell, more than its taste, IMHO, though I do enjoy the flavor of a skilfully-blended tea.)
Beyond that, the fragrance develops a woody/leather-y accord. I get hints of peach, too. Perhaps my cup of tea is sitting on a wooden desk, in a library of classic leather-bound volumes, next to an English muffin spread with peach jam?
Oriental Woody doesn’t quite capture its category, but it’s the closest description I can find.
Just as a good cup of tea merits a pause in one’s activities for full enjoyment, Dreams of Smoke is a tranquil and contemplative scent that encourages deep inhalations, repeated sniffs, a thought or two for its maker and quiet appreciation for the beauty of her creation.
Longevity is about three hours (it will last longer on or under clothing), but Dreams of Smoke is another fragrance that’s about the quality of the experience of wearing it, rather than the quantity of time it lasts on the skin. Sometimes three really good and pleasurable hours are better than six or eight mediocre or boring ones. This is a fragrance for those times.
Thank you to Esscentual Alchemy for the opportunity to try this beautiful scent!
