This is a fragrance with personality. Strong tagetes and benzoin notes at the beginning and all together in a musky light cloud after few minutes.Excellent combination. It suits to every dynamic woman or to every woman, hwo thinks herself as dynamic (lol).

Mb02 is a stunning scent. It opens with soft violet and violet leaf, grounded with iris and vanillic benzoin to give it some warmth and staying power. The tagete (marigold) note is quite prominent to me, giving the scent a lovely hay field in the sun, grassy scent. The carnation provides a spicy element that goes so well with the lovely woods, the balsam fir being the most prominent. The best element of this fragrance to my nose is the addition of a bright basil note. It keeps the fragrance on the chypre path, but without the modern patchouli note. The scent profile reminds me of a more floral, less woody and less spicy Amouage Opus II. Definitely FB worthy for violet lovers and totally unisex. I get more than 8 hours longevity from this lovely fragrance.

Nice, I get a little more green iris than violet. As for skin’s lasting power, I get a good 10-12 hours with two sprays from a 5ml decant. So, not bad. I do think a full bottle is overpriced for what it is though (at 120-150$) in the US. Way more smooth than some other green iris scents.

Lucky Scents says it best with, “Modern, dressed-down sophistication yet upscale taste is what it brings to mind, like that pair of jeans you spent half your paycheck on.” I tried it and while it didn’t strike me at the time as something totally groundbreaking and unique, I find that I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s that beautiful basil note. That basil note has won me over.

This is a charming, subtle and very well blended perfume for violet lovers. On first spray I was surprised by the fresh note of basil, which soon after gave way to woody/resinous and floral notes. The top note of basil does not dominate but enlivens the composition.
The scent reminded me a little of Eau de Lalique in style; it’s a light, impressionistic skin scent with a quirky top note (in the case of Eau de Lalique, it’s dill).
I suspect this scent will fare better on clothes than on skin if you want to wear it in colder months. As others have noted, the lasting power on skin is disappointing.

When we think about Mark Buxton what comes to mind is the tremendous work he did for Comme Des Garcons. His talent when composing trendsetter fragrances such as CDG2, CDG2Man, CDG Original Perfume or White was incredible and together with Bertrand Duchafour and Antoine Lie he collaborated to build the identity of one of the most innovative houses of the last couple of decades.
With that in mind, MB02 results a pleasant but not very inspired composition that while showing many of the Buxton’s hallmarks, at the same time it’s nowhere close to his better works. A transparent, moderately sweet, non-intrusive benzoin/violet concoction slightly enriched by subtle floral patterns. Smells nice, but it’s overall forgettable.

I think this scent is best described with a visual, so picture yourself at the shore of a serene, Northwestern lake. All around you are trees covered with dewy moss and a thick, rolling fog. In front of you is a row boat, and you get in and start paddling across the calm, glassy surface of the lake.
The air is crisp, fresh and sweet; you can detect the morning bloom of the forest’s flowers on the gentle breeze blowing about you.
You sit back to take it all in, feeling peaceful and happy.
Abruptly the rowboat slams into the sand, and you are jolted from your daydreams. You realize that the lake has disappeared and been replaced by evaporating mud puddles. The fog has blown away, leaving nothing in your line of sight but listless trees covered in dried up moss strands.
    You’re disappointed.

This is one of the most exquisite scents I have come across in some time.
True to the description, it is modern, soft, sophisticated and really well blended. It is a scent that could be described in one word: elegant. I see a woman in a crisp white long sleeve shirt and single strand of pearls wearing this scent. And just as easily, I could imagine this on an impeccably groomed man in an expensive suit, the perfect accessory for the man with inspired taste.
I think this is the first scent I have ever experienced that is truly without gender markers and could be worn, gorgeously, by both sexes.

This also reminds me of Infusion D’iris, which I also have, but I have to buy this. It is the sexiest blend of green/herbal notes ive come across, but sexy in a totally understated way. Before I read the notes I thought it smelled of sweet hay, weird i know, but it totally grew on me. Fisrtly basil, then Carnations and iris, violets, and a woody leather thing going on. Divine! mUST BUY fb.

This reminds me of Infusion d’Iris, but with more citrus and basil. It remains sharper in tone, but is very sheer and fades quickly. It stays barely-there for a long time, but it’s a nose-presser to really sniff. Brightly citrus with woods and greenish flower notes. Definitely for summer.
