There is something about this that reminds me of a designer fragrance or even a Victoria’s Secret perfume (or body mist dare I say) but from the late 90s or early 2000s. I adore benzoin and usually tend to like fragrances that are benzoin heavy. I was expecting something a bit more resinous and smooth but this has a lot of edge, presumably the mandarin and patchouli working in tandem. It has that faint sex bomb vibe that a lot of perfumes had during the late 90s and 2000s and I don’t hate it, I just don’t love it. The more I smell it, the more I think it smells like VS Very Sexy! What is my nose doing? Or my brain rather. It is definitely not hugely similar, they just share a similar vibe. I think I also just have a bit of an aversion to patchouli in fragrances. But it seems well blended and has good projection.

This is M7 Oud Absolute with a Benzoin Aura

Opens up like cloves stuck in an orange. Dries down to a resinous, balsamic scent. Dries down to a spicy, slightly sweet vanilla. Long-lasting. 12 hours. I wouldn’t buy it, but I think a lot of people will like it.

Spicy and warm. The mandarin and cardamom notes come through right away, with the rosewood coming next and the vanilla coming soon after, both of which are there to stay. It’s sort of a “shy” scent (not sure how else to describe it?). Lovely, warm, and yet delicate. It’s nice, but not one for me, personally. But we can’t all like the same things! For someone else, this will be perfect, because it is still very nice. 🙂

I have this on my hand just now and I have to say I really do like this one.. very warm and spicy , almost like a grain of actual spice on your hand with a sweet amber in the background! Lovely fragrance and excited to try the rest of the line! 4/5

I love the original M7 and this has some striking similarities. I think it’s the combo of mandarin, benzoin and vanilla.

Beaut spicey very unisex fragrance. Interesting. I like it!

A rich benzoin and vanilla perfume, scented with desert rosewood essential oil which lends a sweet, peppery, leathery aspect, finished off with mandarin, cardamom, patchouli and luxurious vanilla.
This is very well composed, being sweet, but not cloying and woody without the timber yard.
Comfort-factor 100%!
This has a certain similarity to Coromandel, if you replaced the white chocolate with the mandarin note in this.

Yes it’s very Christmas cake at the start, as @katushka37 said. Almost to the point of sharpness. Candied orange peel, cinnamon and cloves. You’re going to have to accept smelling like someone who’s been baking a fruitcake for the first 30 minutes of this fragrance. Baking a fruitcake in an arid zone, like @Melbourne man said.
There is a slightly medicinal quality to this scent too. Overall it’s sharp, dry and a little medicinal. Like the chef cut themselves while slicing orange peel and had to apply iodine to the wound.
I don’t want to smell like I’ve been baking fruitcake in the desert, personally, so I’ll leave this scent to those who do.
(“Fruitcake in the desert” makes you think of of the DNCE song “Cake by the ocean”)

This is what Christmas in July smells like over here! I get lots of orange peel, vanilla and spices at the beginning. Then orange peel fades and more resinous benzoin notes come through.

One of 4 fragrances from this new Australian house.
Desert Rosewood opens up with a burst of boozy amber and quickly settles into woody vanilla vibe.
But what i really like about this is that it is a dry sweetness, probably assisted by the cardamom note.
After about an hour this has settled nicely on the benzoin and rosewood base all the while with a hint of sharpness from something, maybe the listed mandarin and cardamom notes hanging around.
It may have been because i was sniffing them both the night before, but this is almost what you would get if a fragrance had the same bloodlines as both Chergui and L’air du desert Marocain. It certainly has the dry desert air vibe with a touch of sweetness.
