Description

Marc Jacobs presents Decadence, his first “mature” fragrance in 2015. Each of his pillar fragrances represents a distinctive character: Daisy is a sweet girl next door, Lola is quirky, and Decadence is sexy and sophisticated.

The rich and elegant composition was created in collaboration with perfumer Annie Buzantian. The top notes include Italian plum, saffron and iris. Bulgarian rose, Sambac jasmine and orris root form the heart of the perfume, while the base includes warm liquid amber, vetiver and papyrus wood.

The bottle design, which is a “personal talisman” of the designer as a symbol of opulence and glamour, is reminiscent of an emerald green handbag with python pattern, gold chain and black tassel. The face of the campaign shot by Steven Meisel is Adriana Lima.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Decadence was created by Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb.

I like this a LOT! It’s sweet, strong and mysterious to me. I was planning on buying a full bottle of it, but I recently came across a perfume in a discount store which sells a perfume that smells really similar to this one for very cheap. Now I can’t justify it to myself to buy this when the cheap dupe is just as great in my opinion and has good staying power. I’m sorry if this kind of information is not allowed, I just wanted to share my experience.

On paper, I should love it (plums? yes! amber? YES!), but it’s a no from me. Smells harsh, powdery, and unappealing. The bottle is horrible, too, IMHO. Don’t really understand its popularity.

I tested this with an open mind (a friend recommended that I might love this because I love Alien) despite the tacky bottle…I hate it. It’s vulgar, obnoxious and sickening, I had to scrub it off when I got home because it was making me literally sick. Don’t know how to actually describe it because to me it just smells like a hot mess, like someone mixed all the ingredients he could think of to see what happens. It’s STRONG stuff so I’ll give it that, one puff on my wrist choked about 5 puffs of Flowerbomb Nectar I was wearing…

Excellent opening, with truly promising top/mid notes that are a sheer delight. Like a symphony one would hope will never end… Sadly, the composition starts to fall apart from the mid notes down. Like a beautiful dress that wasn’t sewn properly, and didn’t make it to the end of the party. :/

I found a box set of Decadence on clearance at TJ Maxx for around 30 bucks! A 3.4 ounce bottle, roller ball and lotion. I like it, it’s nice….not sure that it’s as decadent as it could be. If anything, it feels very likeable….there’s quite a few dislikes and I’m not sure why as it feels pretty safe overall to me….unless you’re not into sweet at all. I wish it were woodier….a little more spice? Might I just add that the large bottle is kind of insane…it’s so outrageous that I will feel guilty when the perfume is gone and I have to discard of the bottle ( I’m not a bottle saver). So, please don’t roast me but I have a comparison to Decadence….I don’t tend to take comparisons lightly. The first several times I wore this it reminded me so much of something else in my collection but I could not place it…it finally came to me. It smells almost identical to VAMPIRE by Perfumes de Coeur…the one in the red glass bottle that looks like flowing streams of blood…a favorite to wear in October! I’m not sure how easy it is to find that stuff anymore, you used to be able to spot it at drugstores…maybe on-line? It was always one of my favorites. I dug my bottle out of a heap of others to compare to Decadence…I have one on each arm as I type. Yep, nearly identical….Decadence is just a tad more marshmallowy than Vampire and maybe kind of peppery…Vampire has a hint of more red berry. They both have a chocolatey vibe to me. Decadence also reminds me somewhat of D&G Pour Femme and Adam Levine’s scent for ladies….must be the saffron. Over all, I do like it quite a bit…..I would not have been willing to pay full price for it though…so lucky me!

In the beginning loved the rich plum and berry opening. As it settled it became warmer and sweeter. Its almost earthy in a bready way. It must be some combination of amber, saffron, and vetiver but it is different than anything else I have smelled with those notes.
Im not sure how i feel about it. I think that i actually like both stages independently but find the combination a bit jarring and uncomplementary.

I will preface this review by saying that I am usually not a fan of woody scents. Also, my body chemistry ruins a lot of nice perfumes. This one smelled like pencil shavings and urine on me. It’s a shame because on a tester strip, it smells divine.

Funny how one can lose the plot with a fragrance. When I first acquired this quite some time ago, I thought it was lovely. Then as soon as I started using it it just seemed kind of bland, and I really struggled to see anything in it atall. Now I’m wearing it afresh after a long break, it suddenly seems every bit as good as it did when I first tried it! – a fair bit better, even. I’m not actually atall unfamiliar with this phenomenon – but each time it occurs I seem to forget, and become convinced I’ve taken a hit.
Soft, warm, a bit woody, a bit ambery; absolutely no sharp edges: lush & with considerable opulence. Actually a bit like B Balenciaga. (I’m almost certain I’ve said that before. Might have been in another life.) Maybe that one’s recovered in my estimation – I had a similar problem with it also.
I’m so glad I’m not afflicted with that syndrome whereby the papyrus note is perceived as very sour – like pickles, even. I do wonder though – does it have a threshold such that it’s only likely to afflict the wearer, or is there a chance that folks in my vicinity are going to get a pickle-note off me?

Wow this went from a serious dislike to a total love for me!!
Plummy, warm, woody… the combination of iris, plum, and amber creates something almost benzoin-like to my nose.
Definitely try before you buy but this is perfect for colder and rainy days in New York City.
It reminds me of something niche that I smelled recently but I can’t put my finger on it yet.

I’ve tried to describe this scent for months, and I finally knowhow to describe it! It’s plums mixed with bug spray that contains 30% DEET! 🙂

I was super excited when I first reviewed this great fragrance but after owning it a few months and only using it once, I’ve decided as good as it is, I’ll not be getting a bottle.
I’m wearing it now as I type and I still think it’s a great sweet, smooth scent with the most divine vetivier and although not mentioned in the notes, creamy vanilla type drydown but I am shifting to the thought that its to green/vetivier/masculine for me for the first few hours.
I don’t regret the first review, I’ll leave it there as it may be helpful to someone, however, I’m finding it to masculine.
Im glad I got a decant, it’s a super sweet fragrance that I still want give a ‘A’ because I think it’s a great one if you are looking for a super sweet vetivier with a beautiful creamy long lasting drydown.
I’d love to smell this on a man ❤

I smelled it in the store from the bottle. Pickles! I told the sales person it must be a bad bottle because I have this and love it. She sprayed it on a tester strip. No pickles! Give this one go is my advice. And in colder weather too. Give it a chance over a few days.

    Hmmm. Pickled tomatoes?
I tried and tried but this perfume doesn’t do it for me.

I found a whole other reason why I love this fragrance, when eating, it doesn’t interfere with my dish, instead it adds a whole other pleasing experience to savory dishes. I hate when my fragrances intrude, and this girl loves to eat. I feel this is such a delicious fragrance.
I don’t care! This winter, this babe is coming out with me.
I never knew how much I loved plum till I met her!

Ever met someone with a SUPER STRONG PERSONALITY with whom there are no grey areas? You either love them or hate them?? ….Decadence is one of those ladies.
I tried it on. And it most CERTAINLY isn’t a safe blind buy or crowd pleaser. Let me just say that first & foremost!
The scent itself is very pungent. It’s got a strong “tinge” to it. I smell the amber, plum, and iris the most. It’s somewhat powdery but the dominant accord here is woody, without a doubt.
It’s strong. Very strong. It’s not shy. Not shy at all. I also don’t envision a young woman wearing this. To my nose it definitely translates to a 30+ age demographic if I’m being honest.
I had to vote dislike above because I just do not find it very pleasing. But maybe on the right woman with the perfect skin chemistry…it may smell better on her. I can see that being a possibility with a fragrance like this. The odd ratio above with the love/like/dislike bars are exactly how I would have imagined them to look. Lol. Kind of like the opinions would be all over the place and vastly different.
    Scent Itself – On my skin…a 4/10
    Originality – 9/10
    Projection – 4 feet
Longevity – 4-5 hours depending on amount of sprays.
    Overall Score – 5/10

As a man, I was originally looking for something for my wife, but after smelling it, I pictured it very close to Polo Red Extreme for men which I was wearing. So, I then started questioning if I wanted it for her, or deep down because I would like to smell this way. lol.. So i bought it for her anyways, she wound up not really liking it as much as Viva La Juicy, so I kept it for myself. But now smelling it compared to my newest purchase Polo Red Extreme.
So what does it smell like to me? Well first off, I have to say that it’s Both have that slight coffee/ambery/woody scent, the difference is Decadence has a rose/plum scent to it, and Polo Extreme has a Orange/Chocolate scent to it.
Honestly, when you smell them after the immediate dry down on paper, they are very similar and hard to differentiate. But when you first spray it, that is when you notice the differences.

Tested this today at Macys. It smells good, but isn’t for the faint of heart. Its a heavy fragrance that is sweet, but smoky. It also dries down well. the scent is more comforting to me than sexy or sultry. It reminds me of a dark and rainy day in the fall on 5th avenue in NYC. People going to and fro with black umbrellas as the cool windy rain whips through the air before they settle in a taxi to head home. The scent is something that I respect and admire for its uniqueness, but I probably wouldn’t need a whole bottle. Maybe just a roller ball or decant for days when I feel like this kind of fragrance is appropriate. Definitely not a day scent or summer scent. I would imagine this scent would be too cloying in the summer.

After Gucci Guilty I was thinking that I will never like a perfume till I meet Decadence…Its more than a perfume
When i wear it, feel more sexy and self-sufficient.
Really long-lasting – recommend to all brunettes and browns 🙂

Reminiscent of The Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince.
My nose smells plums and fir. My husband’s favorite scent on me. His opinion is that it’s very sexy and womanly.
If it were not by Marc Jacobs it could pass for a niche fragrance.

    Massive. Disappointment.
I loved the design of the actual bottle, but the sample…
The name of this perfume is “Decadence,” so I expected something… heady. Toothsome. Decadent! But instead, it was powder – and WEAK powder at that! Barely any floral hints, and such a timid scent. To compare, I wasn’t terribly thrilled with Flowerbomb (powdery dry down), but that was MILES ahead of Marc Jacobs: Decadence. Just all-around underwhelming.

I smelled this in Duty-Free in Zurich among about 25-30 perfumes, and this was one of only 3 that caught my attention. What a surprise! Very sophisticated smell. The notes that really struck me? Saffron, plum, and vetiver. It’s a much more oriental perfume than you’d think at first. The bit of iris in there lends a bit of a powdery feel, but only as it dries down a bit. Comparing it to a few of the flankers (and I smelled most of them,) this is about the best, with perhaps “Divine” coming out on top. What I particularly love is that this has a richness of scent that is missing from many recent releases. It’s heavier, longer lasting, and richer due to the vetiver and amber mix. This may mean that it’s better suited for evening wear, but that’s OK, wear it at night for maximum impact! Highly recommend this for someone looking for a perfume that mimics the statement that big oriental perfumes from the 70s and 80s used to make.

The only Marc Jacobs fragrance I own/was interested in and it quickly became my signature scent. <3 This is an absolute gem! Not everyone will understand or love the uniqueness of this scent as it can be quite polarizing, however, if you do, it may be a valuable item in your fragrance collection, as it is in mine. It’s very difficult to describe as it is quite mysterious and unlike any other scent I have smelled. The only thing I can say is that it gets sweeter through time – truly decadent! But one thing’s for sure, you must sample this before buying and never blind buy. This is the perfect sexy and mysterious fragrance for the adventurous, daring ladies out there.

I must say I heard great things about this perfume. In fact, I think I fell in love with it after reading/hearing few raving reviews. Alas, this smells (as one other reviewer mentioned) exactly like one of those little tree car air freshener. Not a pleasant smell for me personally and nothing I would like to wear on me at any time.

This fragrance is sweet & beautiful!! I’m surprised sweet is not listed. I was scared by some of the reviews. But this is sweet. It smells like sugary plums, grass and amber. The vetiver gives it that cigar smoke smell a little, which also reminds me of hot couture by givenchy. I’m also getting giorgio armani si intense wiffs. Guys could maybe get away with this, I’m not sure but it does have that cigar smell in it that they may love.

Sampling! Wow I absolutely love this one. I just purchased a decant as I thought I probably won’t like it very much after reading the reviews but to my surprise, it’s a love.
A lovely, creamy, amber vetiver, I can definitely see why some one would not like this if they don’t like the dirty vetiver scent it puts off at the beginning but I am enjoying it very much and highly recommend vetiver lovers give it a go.
I think this is unisex and men that like sweet perfumes that are not to girly should try it.
    A+ ❤

I was terrified to try this perfume because of all the hate it gets, and because I hate fruitchoulis and strong notes that develop on skin like monsters. I assumed that this one would be a monster, but I was wrong! It is actually very easy to wear and smooth and sweet. I think that Michael Buble’s By Invitation is way harsher than this! I would recommend this scent to those who like sweet syrupy scents but who are not afraid of daring notes. This will please those who love Ann Gottlieb’s creativity and boldness!

Dill (!) + melting plastic + scent of newspaper/magazine + sweet note (is it Vanila Fields?). Very depressive. The dill transforms in melting plastic and vice versa, almost like scent of a garbage container on a hot day (dill pickles, fermenting fruits, burning plastic…).
    Color: teal, skobeloff.

  28. :

Everything about Decadence is remarkable to me. The advert, the bottle but most important of all the scent itself is outstanding. I’m so in love with this!
It is beautifully fruity, powdery, deep and seductive. Plum is very prominent and so is the benzoin resin and vanilla which makes up the amber. The emotion it conjures up is that of romantic yearning and desire. Pherhaps the love you could never have but never forgot…
The bottle is absolutely gorgeous. It is emerald green glass with black tassel, snakeskin and a thick golden chain. It could have been tacky but it is actually very beautiful.
The advert displace a sorceress cought in a moment of flaming passion.
It is all very symbolic in a clever way. The forbidden fruit (which is plum in this case) the church scent of resin, the snake skin, gold chain, caressing tassel etc… it’s very sinful and seductive.
The question is should we give into temptation? In this case I say yes.

I am not generally a MJ fan. This one is kinda ok… I don’t care for the papyrus note but other than that, I like this. It’s pretty in a mysterious way. I have a sample and will enjoy using it but it’s not something I’m interested in buying a full bottle of… feminine, yes, sorta seductive yes, but not catching my attention enough.

I really wanted to like this. I just couldn’t. Very strong plum smell with huge burst of wood…but it smelled a bit cheap and gaudy, at least on me. I love bold, powerful fragrances but this one was too overwhelming. I got a headache.
I love the other Marc Jacobs scents and I could recognize the Marc Jacobs touch to it. Maybe my skin chemistry just hates it and reacts quite strangely to it. I sprayed this before bed and woke up to a dusty rose/iris scent; it was not a drydown that I particularly enjoyed. I would love to smell this on someone with agreeable skin chemistry. Definitely TRY MULTIPLE TIMES before you buy.

From the first sounds of this aroma is surprised by the bold combination of plum and iris. I dont smell here saffron , unfortunately. But a slight breeze of the east is still on my skin. An innocent violet with a rose in combination with jasmines plays very distinctly in the main chord of this perfume composition. This aroma saves me from the autumn sadness and in the soul is spring blossoms again. But this amber-looking handsome man makes me crazy, he does not choke, as many people write – he gently envelops you in his arms and caresses. He is smoky and languid, he is mysterious and intriguing and finally i am in real good relationships with him.

  33. :

A powerful, sugary, juicy opening with an underlying warm amber and creamy vanilla note. It is decadent. Also, warm and glamorous. I do enjoy this one even though it isn’t really “me”.
Description says this is a “mature” fragrance, “sexy and sophisticated” … I don’t know about all that. Relative to the MJ Daisy line, maybe it is sophisticated … but I get a more youthful and fun vibe like something Katy Perry might wear. If she’s mature and sophisticated, then OK fine. It’s all subjective I suppose.
Marc Jacobs makes the most beautiful perfume bottles. This one looks like a snakeskin handbag. If you like to collect special perfume bottles, this is a must have.

Ahhh Plum note!!! This scent is awesome, very sexy!!
This is one of my favorite fragrances.
When I smelled this first time, I’ve had love with this smell officially!
Powdery, sweet, fruity, very sexy feminine fragrance.
    Sillage and longevity: very good
    Good Job, Marc Jacobs!

  35. :

    5 out of 5

On my skin the saffron and papyrus pulls strongly for an hour or so and then it mellows out a bit with powdery and ambery notes. Interestingly the plum is kind of subdued and it’s more like a plum jam than actual fruit. My chemistry usually amplifies the floral notes so maybe that’s why it’s so unique smelling on me. Definitely test before buy.
Sometimes I can smell the pickles too but just initially and it’s gone quickly so didn’t bother me much.
It’s long lasting with decent sillage. I avoid wearing it in hot weather, probably winter is where this beauty shines the most but am currently enjoying it in April.

  36. :

Sampled this today and it’s weird I kind of like it ,but not really. I love the plum but there’s something beneath that is spicy/peppery which is off-putting. Saffron maybe? Any way I think I’ll be trying a different plum fragrance.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

This is not “decadent” nor ground-breaking in any way shape or form. It’s a run-of-the-mill plum fragrance that has already been done to death. On my skin it so much like Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss or even Avon Imari Seduction. You’re paying for the name and the over the top packaging.

Smells like dill pickles on me after about 30 min. Although I smell pickles my mom and my daughter did not. They liked it on me. Go figure. I really wanted to love it.

  39. :

I see plum, what plum does and it must be woods tempering the fruityness. This isn’t woody as such.
It’s taken me some time to learn what different notes do and do when mixed together.
I love this. It performs so well on me.
Better than all other Marc jacobs in terms of intensity, longevity.

Boyfriend got me this perfume in 100ml for my birthday without even smell testing it. When I opened it I was a bit suprised as he knows I find alot of Marc Jacob items quite tack, this bottle is no different. The velvet box it comes in is luxurious though and the perfume is well packaged.
After reading the notes I was scared of opening to try in case I didnt like it and had to send back. I find woody smells, masculine/unisex which Im all about the girly female scents. I find unless done right powder scents smell clogging and old. I also normally gravitate towards gourmet/floral scents opposed to fruity. But I was presently suprised and actually really love it, which is strange as even with my fav scents it takes me a couple of wears to appreciate the scent notes/craftmanship but this I instantly warmed to. The dry down is smooth and velvety just like the box. It strangely reminds me of Parma Violets which im suprised nobody else has mentioned it. The longevity and projection is really good and can tell its one you can smell even the morning after. Could be both used as a day scent or a night out. It is very sexy. I suggest anyone tempted to try.

Although I don’t all out dislike this fragrance, I’m not exactly in love with it either. I have smelled this fragrance everywhere since its launch and i’m not mad about it. I think it smells nice, clean, airy, and modern.
However, I can name about 10 other fragrances that fit this description as well. There is no uniqueness to this fragrance and I honestly don’t see how this is supposed to be a “mature” fragrance. That’s not to say that people of all ages couldn’t wear this, they certainly could. I’m just not a huge fan of Marc Jacobs fragrances I suppose.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Officially loving this! It is all about the plum and amber as stars with the rose and saffron playing a supporting role.In the base it is just a lovely strong amber. I dabbed two dabs on wrist and two on neck from a mini. Someone asked me in the bathroom if that was my perfume because it was beautiful. They said they smelled it at the coffee machine and in the kitchen because I left a trail.

  43. :

Ah, I can see that this is polarizing opinions. I really wanted to like this perfume, and I’ve tried it several times now, but I just can’t. All I smell is celery seeds and the aforementioned ‘pickle notes’. Glad it’s not just me on this one. It does dry down nicely, but the celery/pickle/reedy smell is just below the surface for me.

  44. :

Once i spray this on my skin at night from the department store. Then i took a bath and go to bed. In the morning i can still smell it on my skin. Despite this is a very expensive fragrance. Worth to buy.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

First off, I love the bottle for this. Some people find it tacky, but I think the little purse is cute and kitschy and looks adorable on a vanity.
This scent is polarizing, and takes a couple wearings to get used to, I’ll admit. I’m guessing that’s why the reviews on this are all over the place, and I wasn’t a fan at first, either.
Now, I do detect a bit of that pickle smell others have noticed in the opening. When I first blind bought this, I’ll admit that the opening notes annoyed me, and this wasn’t an instant love. However, the beauty is in the dry down. It’s not overly sweet, though I do get some fruitiness from the plum, but the drydown has a gorgeous clean, creamy, musky and woody smell that’s super addictive. And my husband has consistently complimented me on this for the past few days I’ve worn it. And his remarks have been like “oh my gosh, you smell so good”, (as opposed to complimenting *the perfume*.) It’s more an intimate, cozy scent to me for some reason, a possible your-skin-but-better vibe. Nothing crazy sexy or powerful or super decadent (ha!), just a nice, cozy, intimate scent that gives you an overall vibe of smelling *good*.
I don’t find this perfume to be a sillage beast, like others have. To me, it’s an adequate amount, but a person would have to be quite close to smell this, and it does get compliments from those close enough to get a whiff. Lasting power is moderate, as well.

Very creamy soft smell. Last all day. This perfume is a perfume that when you spray it you can smell yourself all day at least it did for me. Love it. Not overpoweringly sweet just right. Im not a fan of Marc Jacob’s fruity and floral scents because I’m not into fruits and florals but if your looking for a nice tame sweet scent this is def it. Moreover, I bought this because the bottle was pretty(like all of his fragrances) and I had tested it in Nordstrom it look like a Flava flav chain lol but the smell is yummy . Def won’t be disappointed!

Whether you like it or not,one thing is certain-there’s nothing like Decadence.Daring from the first spray.I admire the fact that it’s not trying to be likeable.Decadence is very intriguing and mysterious. Not to forget,it has a great drydown.Well done Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb-you made an innovative fragrance.

OMG! I’m glad there is no pickle juice smell for me. All I smell is good smelling saffron, the jasmine and amber, and maybe the others as well, not good with notes.
But this fragrance is such a joy to spray on day or night.
after a shower before bed i always spray my hand just to smell it until i fall to to sleep.
    Damn, this smells so good!!!

Oh my, I do believe Musky-Orrisey/Osmophore surely must be the same writer with 2 accounts. These submissions are so hard to understand & make any sense of. And they’re not really reviews either, are they?
Fragrantica review section just gets weirder & weirder..
@On the noze – well said !! Off now to look up the meaning of “idiomata” lol…
As for Decadence, it’s incredibly loud & synthetic smelling imo, it gives me a massive headache. The synthetic wood (IsoESuper) is overwhelming in this stuff & I don’t understand why it isn’t listed in the notes above (it should have “star billing”!). I can’t wear it, it is quite original I suppose – but (to me) not pleasant.

Muskey-orrisy (with a whole NINE perfumes in his/her wardrobe)…. I don’t often have a go at people here in fact this is the first time but your stupid content and use of words not recognised by average people who DON’T HAVE FUKN DEGREES IN FANCY WORDING aren’t impressing me nor anyone else either, as stated by another reviewer below….
    so keep it real please…..
You make me feel awkward and I am embarrassed for you.
    Perhaps too generously so…
(I had a private education too but I know when and where to use it without making others feel uncomfortable which is what you’re doing).
    It’s YOU leaving the ‘idiomata’.

    My first Marc Jacobs perfume……
I’ve been wanting to add a saffron perfume to my extensive collection of late as nothing I have contains saffron
I was introduced to Decadence after not even mentioning saffron in Myer today (after trying all of Armani Privee including Cuir Noir) line and Decadence was LOVE AT FIRST SNIFF! (And more feminine than the Armani)
There’s enough floral notes here with ‘unisex saffron’ to make this very feminine and also suitable for warmer months.
It’s like nothing I own and nothing I’m ‘used to’ in my standard ‘spicy oriental’ category of usual choice/preference.
The bottle design is also worth a mention.
    The green glass is gorgeous.
The performance/longevity is almost ‘beast mode’ I laid the test card from in store purchase with one spray on it and it perfumed my bedroom all night. Wouldn’t apply too much of this or too close to the nose, it’s a lovely strong EDP perhaps more suited to night wear. Do I dare try the EDT version too? I don’t believe it has the saffron which is what Decadence is all about for me.
Very happy with the whole retail buying experience and presentation thru the opening of this furry boxed, fun fragrance!
It’s ultra unique and unlike anything I own and my collection is extensive.
Was well worth the extra $ at $120A/50ml in store. (Full retail price)
Plenty of cheaper opportunities on eBay of course.
    Thank you.

Mmmmm this is like dark chocolate! Like I have a bitter dark gourmet chocolate bar stashed in my soft leather handbag and now I am sitting in a cigar bar but I’m not smoking, just sipping on plum wine and getting wafts of the chocolate bar in my bag.
The bottle design is perfect. It’s tacky but I can’t stop playing with it!

You know the scene at the beginning of Devil Wears Prada, all of these gorgeous girls getting ready for work, throwing on their designer clothes, kissing their boyfriends goodbye and running out the door to catch cabs? I love that scene. That’s how I feel while wearing this perfume.
This perfume was a gift, it’s not something that would’ve caught my attention in the store. The purse shape is a bit cheesy for my taste, though the green glass is beautiful. I sprayed some on my wrist yesterday morning, thought “meh…it’s ok.” But the more time went by I loved this smell more and more. I’m getting a strong plum and floral scent now, and I love it. It’s still hanging on, 24 hours later. No one can really smell it, unless I’m in their face, and the few folks that I’ve asked about my perfume said that’s it’s “subtle and sweet.”

Its a polarizing scent, but anyways, i adore this and i wear it, though i am a male. I liked it a lot but i reached a stage where i just don,t care for it anymore, got bored from it. The opening is definately the best, the dry down i dislike a bit, it turns weirdly soapy on me (maybe a base note i dislike).

Amazing, I love how this starts as a Dill pickle/dry paper envelope (papyrus) scent and within about 10 minutes the weirdness melds together and the sexy plum-vetiver appears and it smells oh so sexy. Definitely a night fragrance, one you need to be in the mood for and dressed to match and preferably in a cooler climate. I dismissed it originally as I don’t like any other of the Jacobs scents, and to be frank the tacky handbag bottle put me off (I love the green glass however), but looks deceive and I bought a miniature blindly and I discovered that this creation is a gorgeous beast of a fragrance. I am not surprised that a lot of people are hating it, its quite a different scent in the current world of perfumery, my old fashioned nose adores it.

This is ok. Nothing special. Not particularly “sexy”. Powdery and sweet. The mix of plum and iris is not for me.

Wonderful fragrance! I smelled it on a friend some months ago and I finally decided to buy it.
It’s very wild and sexy. It reminds me of hot summer nights, unexpected meetings, sexual tension.
I love it’s mysterious and untamed side that could be worn by a sophisticated exuberant lady as much as a mysterious girl lost in the crowd. The dry down shows the masculine side of the fragrance, but honestly i prefer it on a woman. The sillage is not very strong which is perfect for me.
The floral notes are just perfectly measured and don’t turn too sweet even if it’s a bit powdery and sugary in the opening.
I’ve blind bought Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson cause apparently, it has the sa
