Description

The new fragrance by Armani comes from the Emporio Armani Diamonds collection dedicated to so-called “It-girls.” Emporio Armani Diamonds Violet launches in Summer 2015.

The fragrance is announced as a delicious, floral-fruity-gourrmand, intended for a night out. Top notes include juicy and exotic fruits of raspberry, passion fruit and lychee. The heart captures flowers of violet, Bulgarian rose and lily of the valley, on the base of sweet praline, patchouli and vanilla.

The fragrance is available as 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I love the smell of pralines!

I really love this. It’s so pretty and feminine. It’s a subdued violet, not a shrieking one, which I appreciate. I love the mix of sweet violets and woods. It’s perfect. Sillage and longevity are hours on this one.

Of the original Diamonds’ non-identical twin babies, Violet is the sugary’n’sweet one of the two. Less green than Rose, I like Violet’s praline and passionfruit notes. Sweetness is there, but it doesn’t overpower the violet, which is important. It’s a background of sweetness, that helps give the standout note of that violet, character. Rose had a greeny flower-garden background to back it up, Violet has a faint gourmand background. Overall, not a complete gourmand, definitely a violet fragrance that’s worth a try.

Amazing scent, summer fruits and sweet musky violets. Also hints of vanilla and pachouli, but the pachouli isn’t as strong in the ‘Violet’ like it is in the ‘Club’ edition which for me is a tad too strong. Still present on the skin after hours, lovely perfume! My favourite Armani and definitely out of the Diamonds series

Similar to original Diamonds but more violets smiling in it, very sweet, spring or summer fragrance. I received many compliments today and people near me asking what i am wearing. It is very good lasting power i even smell it in the next morning.
    9/10

I smell mostly fruits and sweets. Its fun and cheerful to wear. Suitable for summer, day time use.
Edit: Ok I wear this almost daily now. I don’t know why it is underrated. Praline, litchi, vanilla, passion fruit, berries… Everything I like is inside this bottle. Diamonds Violet uplifts my mood and makes me feel really good & energetic. 🙂

Never been let down so far so fast. For the first 3 picoseconds of this it reminded me of Armani Sensi.I blinked, then it was gone, vanished, leaving plastic litchi behind which itself faded very quickly. Your night out had better be a swift half before you trot home, because this won’t go the distance.

I don’t smell any violet in this. But what I do smell is something that reminds me of root beer. I find this quite masculine.

It’s everything about the violet ,beautiful powdery Violet’s wit hint of Bulgarian rose and vanilla ,seems to be close to the packo Raban ultraviolet or lite of my favorite parfume insolens but in diamond way .long lasting strong silage !!

this is very intense and reminds me of lancome magnifique.
It starts with a blast of rose/patchouli/warm/sweet notes. I think the most dominant note is rose mixed with some powdery/violet accords. I also smell something like saffron, which is very welcome to my nose in a wintry day like today. It makes me feel cozy and warm, not something that I can wear everyday and everywhere, as it’s not a usual floral/fruity gourmand. actually I smell something like floral/woody/musky perfumes here. whatever it is, its sillage and long lasting power are great.

Intended for a night out? It smells like freaking tutti frutti. It’s childish, cheap and oh so not charming.

This is regular “Diamonds” – but after 10 minutes it takes on a hint of warm, burnt sugar. It’s a nice touch. But violets?! Hahahaha = —> NO <—
It’s basically the same ting, but not really. Think Mugler flankers. Do you need to own them both? No. But do you want to? Probably yes.

I bought this yesterday in a really good sale at Boots (UK), 50ml + 20ml purse spray. I already have the Original Diamonds and I love it, its fruity and sweet and very long lasting. I am a Violet freak so I was imagining Diamonds original with a beautiful blast of violets running through it….. Not so I’m afraid.
Because I have the original, there is not enough of a difference to warrant owning both. I think I might have got a 5 minute hint of Violet, but then it turned straight to the original, which if you love the original is not a bad thing, but if you were looking for a Violet perfume….then its a disappointment. I might layer it with Violet Essential oil to get that blast of Violets/Diamonds combo, but if I am going to do that, then the original + violet essential oil will do much the same thing. Also layering with other Violet perfumes could also work very well I was told by a friend, and intend to see what ADV + Guerlain Insolence are like.
    Edited to add…..same day,
3 hours after my initial spritz, I am well into the dry-down phase and I CAN actually detect Violet again, but its very subtle, and I have to say that the drydown is similar but not exactly like the original. I still maintain that it is too similar to feel the need to own both, but it is a pretty perfume, and I have to say that if you are looking for a Violet perfume, look elsewhere as this is not enough to feed your Violet hunger.

I was walking through Boots and saw this on a stand. Being a violet groupie my eyes started bulging when I saw that one magnetising word on any perfume box… ‘violet’. I sprayed it and walked on. Got to the pharmacy and both the pharmacists asked me what the gorgeous fragrance was. (You must now imagine a fisherman standing by the bank reeling a fish in!) Kept sniffing wrist throughout the rest of the shop. Got home and the internet search for a bargain began.
I collected it yesterday. Sprayed it last night which was a huge mistake because I had been decanting at least 8 different perfumes and smelt like what I would imagine a high class lady of the night’s boudoir smells like.
Showered this morning, nice clean, perfume free skin. Result:
Disappointing. Got tiny violet about 10 minutes after having sprayed it, but mostly fruity. Can’t smell any rose, patch or vanilla. I think I got carried away because I wanted to like it so much. Just seeing the word Violet on the box was enough to send me into a frenzy, how sad is that. I probably wouldn’t have thought anymore of it if those two pharmacists hadn’t asked me what the gorgeous smell was.
Don’t think it’s a keeper unless it starts to grow on me more. I’ll try layering it with some of my other violets and see if that makes a difference but it’s a shame it can’t be worn as a single perfume. Perhaps I am jumping to conclusions rather too quickly, who knows. I will persevere with it and may have to come back and make a change to the review.
Bottom line is I have better violet fragrances.

I hated this with a passion after I first brought it, and thought i’d made a very impulsive mistake. All I got was the overwhelming violet. I couldn’t smell the raspberry or praline at all, which saddened me as I am a gourmand freak, but it just screamed VIOLET!!
A few weeks later, I decided to give it another try, and this time I find it much more pleasant. It dries down to a beautiful powdery scent, and the violet becomes very faint (thank god). Not one of my favourites, I would have to be in the right mood to use it, but it has definitely grown on me. You do have to love violets to like this though I think, just a word of warning lol.
A nice, light summery scent, perfect for a picnic or drinks in a pub garden on a hot day. Sillage is ok, longevity is amazing, and the dry down is definitely worth the wait!! Moved from my ‘dislike’ to my ‘like’ shelf, so it’s heading in the right direction!

This smells so nice!!! Fresh, sweet, and a nice violet undertone, this is youthful, and happy!! The Violet is young, it isn’t like a typical vintage violet, this is a young violet, gorged with sunshine!! It is quite different from the other Emporio, it gets a bit powdery in the base, but the overall tone of the scent is summery, lovely, and it smells like the pretty color of the bottle!! I don’t find it gourmand per se, just fresh and sweet. IT isnt projecting much though, dont expect great longevity.

The violet in this is very sweet and powdery – more like vanilla and/or amber actually. But it does smell purple. Its soft feminine with gentle candy/chocolate vibes.. a bit like smarties. I like it.

I’ve got to start by saying yummy this perfume is a rich sweet delectable absolutely beautiful fragrance. It’s sweet and the longevity is around the 4-5 hour mark. I must add that I bought this blind based on the reviews I’m so glad I did. It’s definitely a unique fragrance and I would encourage all to go out and test it.

Tested this today and i have to say that it didnt impress me much, as i havnt smelt any violet and praline note. I thought it would be more on violet and praline side ( more creamy) but its an ok sweet watery fruity perfume, very similar to Diamonds intense version:), although quality is good – lasting power and sillage is on top!

I liked how it was right after spraying. Very nice mix of light violet and litchi.
After some time it had turned into intense raspberry and sweet praline mix. Violet and raspberry togheter – how weird is that?
After trying so many perfumes, I can totally say, it’s an interesting scent. There’s just too much raspberry for my taste.

yummy awesome!!! my new signature for this summer – no too light like Diamonds Summer and not too heavy like Diamonds EDP or Black Carat. Resembles Diamonds Intense a lot, sugary sweet, but good for summer, though. love love love!

I tried this yesterday – you can totally tell it’s an Emporio Armani Diamonds cause it recalls the eau de parfum but at the same time you are surrounded by the exotic fruits, with a predominant raspberry note (at least for my not so refined nose), the gourmand notes are quite persistent (though I’m not sure the praline is detectable – I’m a really newbie when it comes to some notes) and after a while the violet goes on stage till the scent disappears (I sprayed it on the back of my hand and it stayed pretty strong for at least 4 hours – with arm lenght sillage). A quite interesting combo in my opinion, might intrigue those who like sweet fruity scents or violet lovers who look for a new composition.
I liked it and I already listed it in my wishlist cause it’s been a while since I last wore a violet perfume (and by the way it’s not very powdery).

I’ve always found these Diamonds so boring. This on the other hand sounds good… My wrists are waiting!
