Resin and woods but with a Attar Musk sour/mustiness that I don’t care for. Interesting and dark for sure, but not for me. Retried recently (2015). thsi time I got black loamy dirt note with green edges like a forest, a cardamom vibe and faint suggestions of resin incense. It’s really very pretty for the darkness. I don’t know if I got a newer blend, or the last sample was old or off, but this is quite nice and lives up to the gothic vibe of BPAL without being unwearable.

Woody aromatic seems to really suit this scent. It has a very prominent cypress note at first, with some incense and oakmoss, but it gets smokier, softer and sweeter on skin (as they always do..). Despite it has some aromatic thickness, it’s cool, it’s rather…chilly. Makes me think of Black forest, fresh air and mountains, darkened. What’s left after five hours is a faint sweet smell with incense and a bit of nut.
