Nah, this is too old school and green. My 60 year old uncle wood love this. Maybe a lighter version of 1978 Polo Green

Descent into Acqua Di Parma Episode 2: Yes I used Descent because it has “scent” in it.
Today I tried a sample of Acqua Di Parma Colonia Club. I sprayed on more than I usually spray this brand. I initially smelled a citrus with a strong lemon smell. After 15 minutes or so I think it smells as if its a higher class Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy fragrance. I’m new to a lot of Fragrances and that is the closest thing I can think of it Colonia Club. I like it a lot. If I had to only wear one brand of fragrance Acqua Di Parma would probably be it.

Lavender and harsh woods after a nice minty opening. Scrub scrub scrub scrub scrub….

This is a beautiful green fougiere fragrance that is to Acqua di Parma what Green Irish Tweed is to Creed (although the two do not smell similar at all, and I prefer the Colonia Club). As for the scent, it’s in the same genre as Amouage’s Beach Hut Man and Coty’s Aspen to my nose but different than both. It opens with a very beautiful fresh green accord of very natural smelling spearmint leaves (the mint in this is as natural as YSL’s Live Jazz and Lush’s Dirty, and is noticeably spearmint rather than peppermint). The mint is so prominent in fact that it produces a noticeable cooling effect on your skin (just as is the case with Lush’s Dirty). But the mint is not the only thing there, and is united by notes of to my nose galbanum (which smells like grass), petitgrain, neroli, vetiver, lemon, and a very strong green bergamot accord that almost smells like limes. It’s very green, very cooling, and very fresh. It also smells both modern yet refined and sophisticated at the same time to me, like they took the classic fougiere (fern-like) cologne formula, made it modern but also of natural-smelling ingredients so it smells high-class. It definitely leans masculine; it smells like what a gentleman in a tuxedo or someone on a golf course would be wearing. On the drydown I smell a small hint of seawater and ambergris accord that makes it sort of aquatic in nature, but in a good way. It’s as if you were walking in a lush green forest with fields of spearmint and it started raining. The scent overall is pretty linear from opening to the end however. Sillage is moderate (as is the case with all Acqua di Parmas in my experience), while longevity is also moderate at about 5 hours (better than most Acqua di Parmas though, except for Colonia Oud and Leather). Overall, this is my favourite fragrance from the historic Italian Acqua di Parma house, followed by Colonia Oud and Fico di Amalfi.

Not sure how this comparison hasn’t been mentioned, but this stuff is 80%+ similar to pre-reformulation Armani Code Sport (circa 2011). The mint is a lot stronger in the opening of this one, but the drydown is extremely similar. This one is deeper with a wider variety of woody/floral notes, so it definitely comes across as Sport’s Italian older brother

Here I am at last – reviewing my signature!
Reading some reviews comparing it to Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water are a wee stretch for me (sorry – I own all three and I still use Cool Water today after 20 years). Especially in contrast to what Lo-fi said. They are at best somewhat similar.
Keeping it simple, to me GIT is like honeyed lemon verbena with some flowers, and thats it nothing else.
CW again in simple terms is Fresh Aquatic, Lemon (not even in its pyramid), Lavender with SPEARMINT not mint in the back ground with a pinch of tobacco and coriander.
Colonia Club is like a Sweet Lime Soda in a can with a pinch of tobaccy and lavender and a little musk straw to sip it with a clean mint always present in the back ground!
Alternatively amazingly its also a dead ringer for Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDT if you replace the cherry with lime/bergamot (not EDP which has less musk more cherry). I know this is almond and tonka bean in Ideal but this is what it smells like to me from a non technical point – I also own them.
CC is an EDC so only has a small percentage of oil compared to CW which is an EDT or GIT which is an EDP hence higher oil content. Ironically I think it is reverse world!!! I find GIT to reek of quality but have a low to moderate silage and reasonable longevity and CW to smell cheap in construction (at least the last one i bought – infact it smells vinegary on first spray) and to have a decent longevity.
CC on the other hand… after dry down (admittedly I do spray a lot) it smells of sweet lime (not bergamot) mixed with a layer of lavender, coriander, maybe cedar, amber and mint over the top after 15 minutes a bit of powdery musk presents itself . The mint does cool you but 50cm away its the only fragrance I know that just smells of all the combined. Its very textured and even though its a cologne the ingredient quality basically means that it lasts 6-12 hours for me AND its completely linear – I’m not sure that it changes. Its not an in your face perfume yet I can smell it more easily from a distance than most – I don’t know why. AND this is coming from someone whom doesn’t really like musk or powdery scents (not that they are dominant).
Its kind of a mature scent for smart casual dressed guys in their 30’s and above (imagine Panerai watch, polo top and chinos) or someone confident in a Tom Ford or Brioni like Daniel Craig, George Clooney or Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy as the CEO of GE in 30 Rock would wear – not loud but a mix of warm, cool, formal, casual.
So I love this scent because I can wear it in winter as the musk lavender and amber are somewhat warming and the mint and lime keeps it fresh like I just got out of a shower in a waterfall with naked women (actually it reminds me of Norsca maybe lol).
I recently bought Jacques Fath Green Water as someone somewhere mentioned it was like Colonia Club dialled up to 11 – he was spot on except its simpler – just Lavender Mint and Lime.
I sprayed each hand before I started typing this 60 minutes ago with distractions with CC and CW. CW has already faded noticeably and changed whilst CC is still powering on at the same level with the same presentation…
I have to stop myself wearing this everyday… that and L’Homme Ideal when I feel like Cherry instead…

Colonia club IMO is One of the best and most elegant fresh fragrances you can get.
Extremely high quality, beautiful and pleasant. Beautiful citrus with ultra cooling green mint backbone. Very cooling, masculine and refreshing.
You will get Creed GIT vibe in the opening with a hint of modern minty/shower-gel freshness vibe in the classsical Italian colonia background.
I love almost all ADP line and this one is no exception.

Got a spray at Niemans the other day. Definitely agree that this smells like GIT at first but with a slight menthol and mint overtone which makes it a little more harsh. There were a few times in the first hour that it sort of reminded me of a urinal cake. It wasn’t too off-putting and didn’t last long, but I definitely had that moment where you go, i recognize that smell, I wonder what it is… oh, now I remember. After dry down, it was too powdery for me and my wife hated it, so it’s a no-go but it was close. I liked the forst 2/3, but the base lost me. Could see wearing it if spending a lot of time outdoors though.

There are a lot of good reviews for this, and I think this has its place, maybe on a cool spring morning, playing golf or something on grass. But to me it is mostly a menthol/eucalyptus/camphor kind of vibe that reminds me of super fancy vicks vapor rub. Originally I liked it, but after a few warings it became overpowering and annoying.

Absolutely the best spring fragrance I have ever experienced. This is Acqua di Parma’s answer to Green Irish Tweed and it kicks A**.
The opening might be a bit off putting. It definitely can give off a dated vibe. However, if you give it a chance, it quickly becomes something you’ll fall in love with. The dated vibe falls away and you’re left with the cleanest, freshest, classiest fragrance you could put on for Spring or Summer. BUY IT.

Very intesresting fragrance from Acqua di Parma!. Very green and citrusy one. First, I got a blast of vetiver, lavender, mint of geranium. Then, it evolves with the bergamot and mandarin that shine in the background. The mint gives a cooling vibe!
I consider a mature fragrance when the vetiver is creeping behind all these notes
Got good longevity 8hrs+ with nice projection
    Spring and summer for sure
    Days and nights
Very versatile, Casual, office and dates nights
    7.5/10
A fragrance that it worth trying at least!

My favorite from the house, highly underrated! It is beautifully fresh, sporty, and masculine all at once.. Great for the office or for outdoors in the springtime. The mint is soft, not sharp, perfectly balanced to my nose. I was shocked by its performance on my skin; applying once at 7am, the scent was still present when I returned at 8 in the evening. 9/10, always need this in my collection.

This is the third one I own from the ADP house and …
    Absolutely elegant and Classy!
    For a reall gentleman.
Must be how a billionaire should smell.
    Superlative elegance in a bottle.
If you wear a Brioni suit then this is the missing piece to fit into the puzzle.
i just can’t stop sniffing my wrist.
And this comes from someone who owns Tom Ford, Serge Lutens, Creed, Mancera, Hermes, Comme des Garcons, Atelier Cologne, Penhaligon`s, Montale, etc.
    Very underrated.

My perfumery store gave me several samples of this to try. My impression was that is was very very similar to New West by Aramis which I wore during my university days.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

I got this as a 1.2ml sample. It’s unisex but struck me as being more masculine than feminine. It starts with a sort of mossy/mouldy mint fragrance – not a particularly fresh mint. It also produces the “cooling effect” sensation described by others – akin to having toothpaste wiped on you – not pleasant – and lasts about 45 mins. This belongs in the ‘sport’ class of fragrances to me. Next a quite pleasant vetiver scent appears and persists to the end, becoming muskier with time. Lasts a good 8hrs, sillage is soft to moderate. A reasonable, sporty, scent for men in my opinion. Not for me.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

Colonia Club is a dihydromyrcenol disaster bolstered by harsh notes of mint, lavender and carnation. If that combination sounds familiar, it’s because it is – Pierre Bourdon made the very same combination famous with his iconic aromatic aquatic scent for Davidoff, Cool Water.
Acqua di Parma’s interpretation here is nose-searingly intense on initial blast, but fortunately fades rather rapidly. The dry down is a generic musky aftershave. Overall, Colonia Club is cheaper than Creed’s Green Irish Tweed, much more expensive than Cool Water, and not nearly as good as either.

The scent is wonderful, sophisticated / high class barber shop, a manly, warm weather fragrance. Love the mint and neroli, very refreshing, I really like this one.

  19. :

This was a blind buy, and boy am I glad! It’s a beautiful blend of mint, citrus, and floral notes. The star of the show is definitely the mint, it hits you front-and-center and stays with you all the way until it settles into vetiver and a bit of musk.
I get good longevity and sillage with this, and receive compliments every time I wear it. I personally prefer it as an evening fragrance, but that may be just me.
I’ve read some reviews below that compare it with Proraso and other old-school barber scents, but I don’t see it. Those are more eucalyptus/menthol, while this is mint all the way (and then some!).

I am just about to visit Rome, which I love and miss a lot, so this is going to be my next purchase.
Me and my husband are going to share it and I bet we will have a great Valentine’s Day in a great country.
Italian scents are really fantastic, somehow different than the big French bestsellers. I am a real fan of Bottega Veneta, Acqua di Parma Colonia and di Parma Essenza and now this. Perhaps it is better for summer, but I can’t wait 🙂
Although at heart I am a channel girl, so you see.

Green with Envy..!! Certainly the mantra of this beautiful creation from Acqua di Parma… I preface this review stating I am a huge fan of the Acqua di Parma line, housing several in my stable of fragrances. The Colonia Club edition is a blend of mint, citrus, and floral notes where the end product is a nicely done fragrance that I find intriguing and appealing. Acknowledging some of the negative reviews, this fragrance is not for everyone. Sample it prior to purchasing the bottle – AdP has historically been quite generous providing samples to inquiring minds (and noses..). I would offer that Colonia Club tends to have more of a masculine vibe, but for those that like a feminine fragrance, but daring to try something out of the comfort zone – go for it..!! You may like it..!! Additionally, I would suggest CC may appeal to a more mature audience. When wearing this gem today, I was reminded of more dated and distinguished fragrances from yesteryears gone by. Oh, to reminisce… (where did all the years go? – but I digress..)
My final tally for Colonia Club is 4.2 stars out of 5. I am a fan of Acqua di Parma. That said, while Colonia Club is not my favorite in this line, it does offer something different which I like. It is very appealing, distinguished, and worthy of a test drive… For those who are “Green with Envy”, definitely recommend adding to your collection.
Enjoy your day and Happy Fragrance Hunting…

Colonia Club is my favorite among the Colonia line.
It opens with bright fresh strong mint and some 30 minutes later settles with lavendar, musk, almost tobacco-like. It stays for 7-9 hours.
The only thing that bothers me is the cooling sensation on the skin (like those body wash and shampoo with cooling effect). However you won’t really notice it unless you overspray.
Not all bad I guess.. it only means the mint is a real deal. This is hands down the minty-est mint of all mint perfumes I have ever tried.

I mostly notice the mint when i reapply the fragrance a 2nd or 3rd time after the initial wearing.
For eau de cologne, this is a great performer! However for the price, i kinda wish it was eau de toilette and lasted a bit longer.
This is my first Acqua Di Parma, and i will absolutely be trying more! I’m barely disappointed with the longevity, but elated with literally everything else about this cologne. This is an easy 8 out of 10 for me.

Profonda delusione! Intendiamoci non è poi malaccio ma è di una banalità disarmante. Una fragranza indubbaimente fresca e moderna, ma già sentita e risentita… e a che costo poi!

Got a sample of this from AdP.
It’s not a bad fragrance but it’s simply a generic “green” cologne. There’s nothing special here and I can’t see buying a bottle, especially with the price they’re asking for it.

Good fragrance but nothing special! Cool effect when spray in skin for a few minutes but in my opinion the best A.D.P. scent is the Essenza Colonia!!! The only Acqua Di Parma scent that made me crazy is the Essenza colonia and i wish never reformulated, never discontinued!!!

This masculine masterpiece drives me crazy! A magnificent blend of Mint, Lavender and Geranium mixed meticulously with citrus scent of Bergamot, Lemon and Orange, however; Mint and Lavender ingredients are dominant. Both longevity and projection are Medium and It is a great for wearing in all seasons in any occasion. With no doubt, It is one of the best product of this liable brand. You should buy it! You won’t regret!

I spotted this bottle at a Neiman Marcus and made for it straight away. I spritzed it on my wrist and breathed in. Nice, like all ADP scents it’s fresh and citrusy up top. I get a definite green vibe like the bottle suggests. I get the aromatic and perhaps fougere qualities too it. I get mint, lots and lots of mint. Too much I think. Like someone took fresh crushed mint and citrus and jammed it up my nose! Definite resemblance to some other classic men’s fresh green scents, probably some polo sport fragrance but I don’t really remember. It dries down to some aftershave soap smell with the geranium and vetiver giving a stereotypical “gentleman” aura that they were going for. It did last a long time for a fresh scent. I will need to test again but overall impressed with the direction adp is going with their modern takes on classics. Fans of essenza will like this!

  35. :

    4 out of 5

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but Colonia Club lacks subtlety or any kind of refinement. It’s like a teenager who has gone wild with his father’s aftershave because he’s going to try and woo a girl and thinks he has to smell manly and distinguished, yet ends up giving everyone else in the room a headache from vastly over-applying it. The opening is the olfactory equivalent of a punch in the face. There’s no warmth in this. It is headache-inducing.

Unbelievable how one can make such a perfect fusion in a perfume. This perfume is top class!
It is a really nice interpretation of the classic colonia and far better than the colonia essenza for men.
It is so to say very sophisticated and diplomatic perfume’.
It opens with the typical colonia essence that is dominated by the lavender. And this stays until the end.
But what is new and special is that it smells more aromatic even a bit oriental.
I think this is due to geranium that gives that earthly scent mint and especially the galbanum, Then the fresh scent of neroli comes through and evolves to a spicy scent were lavender mixes with vetiver to go into the realm of amber-musk and finally back to lavender.
Really it is a very elaborated and rich perfume. It is definitely a perfume that is very suitable for official and festive occasions. I think its suitable for all seasons.
And yes every good perfume is definitely unisex.
Wow this perfume is top class and a total new experience in the range of the colonia tradition.

In my perception would be the junction of brut that evolves into a polo sport . Colonia club refers to these two fragrances , but with higher quality. good projection and longevity.

The Colonia club is an interesting new cologne from the house of Acqua di Parma. I am a big lover of the Colonia and Colonia Essenza, and having owned a lot of the house’s fragrances, I must say that the Colonia club takes a rather big departure from the group. It smells less like its siblings in the manner that it doesn’t have that “barbershop” warmness and I also think it lacks a bit of the “Italian vibe” that the house of ADP is renowned for. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful citrus-mint-musk combination. A tad sharp with the mint and herbal accords in the opening, but combined in an appealing way with the citruses in the formula. Again, something that ADP know very well – mixing the citruses in the blend masterfully. I believe that the Colonia Club might be more popular amongst younger crowds, as it is perhaps more accessible (Smells light and sporty) than the other Colonia’s in the line.
    *Edit 20/06/2016
The dry down of this scent is very nice, and very much ADP Colonia like dry down. It is pleasant, yummy 🙂 and masculine. I would recommend this to all young gents who would wish to smell vibrant, youthful and energetic. suits well a daily use and an office environment.

Tested from a sample this morning and again this evening.
Starts off citrusy with a strong, slightly synthetic, mint note. I could feel the mint oil, or essence, or whatever form it is, tingling on my skin, and the mint was strong enough to clear my sinuses. That description doesn’t do the fragrance justice though, because at the start, at least, it’s an interesting, fresh and very attractive scent, with the promise of something unusual.
Unfortunately the mint and citrus fade very quickly, as they tend to, and what is left is a very generic, fresh, masculine cologne, dominated by lavender. I really don’t get the vetiver, a note I love, but maybe I’m desensitised to it. Nothing out of this world, but nonetheless pleasant. The whole experience makes me think of meeting someone for the first time, attractive, looks interesting, there’s a flash of interest, a look held almost imperceptibly too long, maybe a flirtation? But no, my mistake, just a pleasant chat talking about work, or the weather or something, and then a friendly smile and have a good day.
    A pleasant, daytime, summery fragrance.

The mint atracted me to it, and the green bottle only generated more curiosity. The mint is clear and is one of the best, if not the best mint I got so far, but since I love the “cool” effect I feel here I may be suspect on properly classifing it as such. Anyway, too bad when I’m not paying attention to it the overall feeling is of a nondescript scent, surprisingly heavy, a bit synthetic, totally contrary to what I thought I would encounter here. I own assoluta and essenza, and unfortunatelly, I think its essenza that is mixed here, not with success. Good mint, good color, but the rest is a big misfire.

This one crept up on me, as I had no idea Colonia Club was out.
Tried it the other day and I have to say I’m extremely impressed by the smell of this stuff. AdP will never be one of my favorite brands but they do make solid, classy fragrances which open very well and I enjoy hugely. They seem to be afforded leeway that I wouldn’t give to other houses for making mediocrity a trademark.
Anyway…Colonia Club has a wonderfully fresh opening of citruses as you’d expect but with a hint of herbaceous green qualities, lavender, mint and a touch of white florals.
There’s a lightweight musk, and in the heart a geranium note under long lasting citrus, all of which conspires to create that classic aromatic fougere type fragrance, making this hard not to like. The vetiver really comes out in the dry down and that’s about it.
Club delivers what I expect from Aqua di Parma topping it off with average performance I’d say all in all another good product from the house.
I think I prefer this to the black one…colonia essenza?? is it???
Fan’s of AdP will definitely like this one it’s very hard not to and I really like the green bottle.

Great quality mint and pepper, it is wearable in all seasons because it can small warm or fresh depending on the situation. It is very upper class as well, unlike some mint scents like are too synthetic to be elegant.

I was not initially keen on this, but decided to try it again.
I am glad I did because I have changed my mind completely, it is a cracking fresh-mint fragrance with a little barbershop touch behind it.
The quality is excellent and it feels very rich and refined. A perfect scent for all those like me who could not get along with the likes of Polo green/ Tom Ford Italian Cypress/ Cartier Roadster etc.
What I get here is mainly mint, but boy what a mint. Every other mint type fragrance I have tried pales in comparison.
I love it, and will be buying a full bottle come christmas as a little gift to myself.

As a long time fan of the AdP range (Colonia was my first ‘niche’ fragrance that really pushed me into this hobby) I have been pretty disappointed with the AdP offering of late. In 2010, I was stunned by the freshness and neroli-hit of Colonia Essenza. But by the time Oud and Ambra were launched (the mid-term Leather launch wasn’t too bad) I thought AdP had hit rock bottom. Along comes Club and I now think they’ve started to dig.
Club is aptly named for a sporty cologne that’s as loud as a teenager that’s overdosed on sugar in the middle of the local library’s “quiet zone”. It explodes right from the start; the notes bare no progression from the start, although the neroli, lavender and bergamot are quite obvious. The powdery fougere that this settles into is just too common for anyone that knows all too well what a drug store cologne is. I am no snob that likes perfume to cost six figures or requires a personal assistant to go and pick up a bottle. I equally like my Colonia Essenza as I do my Boucheron or Chanel. But this scent is really a turning point for AdP, as others have mentioned – a turning point downwards…
The only thing that Club can provide a prospective buyer on the high street is a relief from all that yellow packaging. The green coloured Club is quite well suited to the nature of this scent, although it provides little else in terms of scent. Perhaps the prospective buyer should ocntinue to walk past the AdP counter…

I finally ran into this new Acqua di Parma Colonia Club, so I sprayed some on my wrist.. This is just my first impression of this fragrance.. Colonia Club opens up very fresh, vibrant, and green.. I detect a lot of citrus in the opening and lots of mint which keeps Colonia Club fresh and green. There is some lavender, geranium, and galbanum in the heart that lend Colonia Club a bit of a classic masculine vibe.. The base notes of ambergris, musk, and vetiver are just there to ground the scent and are not very prominent to my nose.. Colonia Club is just a very nice crisp, clean, vibrant, green masculine fragrance.. I almost get a fresh cut grass type of vibe in the opening which smells nice.. Colonia Club is not very complex nor is it very unique or groundbreaking but it smells nice and it is a quality fragrance.. I do not really get the comparisons to Polo as Colonia Club is a light fresh green fragrance whereas Polo is the complete opposite of light and fresh.. Acqua di Parma is really pushing this fragrance and I hope it does well, I like it.. This is one of those scents that you can wear whenever as it is very versatile.. Colonia Club is great for when you just want to smell simple, fresh, clean, and masculine..

This new Fragrance came as quite a surprise, and a good one at that. There is no need to have second thoughts regarding quality when discussing Acqua di Parma. The Italian house has always been reliable and rarely disappoints.
To me, the first spray smelled like a Collezione Barbiere product finally made into a Fragrance. It is very pleasant, and different from previous releases. The fresher notes like Mint, Neroli, Petitgrain tied in with Musky/Ambergris takes it to a deeper level followed with Vetiver throughout. Fresh, uplifting and pleasant Eau de Cologne, plus the skin scent is very enjoyable. The longevity aspect of Colonia Club is much better than let’s say the regular Colonia and some flankers.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Club offers links to the past which are beautiful to contemplate with a modern and compelling rejuvenation of the masculine herbal green attar. Please don’t write this fragrance off based on a few dismissive reviews below. If you really want to understand the premise of this fragrance, please read Elena Vosnaki’s intelligent and stimulating article written for Fragrantica (9/1/15).
There isn’t much I can add to Ms. Vosnaki’s essay, but there are a few things about men that I would like to mention here. Sometimes we like to run with the pack. Sometimes we don’t want to smell like a rarefied flower or an abstruse wood; we just want to feel refreshed, say, after physical exertion. A fragrance like Colonia Club is designed for these shared manly moments: it shines in the “club” or “locker room”. I use it in the recovery phase of my workout routine. This new trend in men’s health involves cooling down the body to extreme temperatures briefly to achieve a type of muscular rejuvenation and reduce pain after strenuous activity. I could almost swear the intense mint aspect of Colonia Club was designed with this phenomenon in mind because, after I perform my recovery routine and shower, a few sprays of this seems to extend the benefits of this procedure, and it just makes me feel more vibrant and fit. I think a lot of men who are adding “recovery” to their routines might find this little dividend to be of interest. Another nice thing about Colonia Club is the very ease with which it may be worn when you want to go from the gym directly to a dinner date, etc. and want to be noticed, but don’t want anything heavy, overly woody or gourmand pulling you out of the “zone” to which you worked so hard to gain entry.
Colonia Club’s palpable harkening back to the original Brut, RL Polo or Aqua di Selva is, in a sense, something a lot of successful men have been yearning for in a fragrance and is not in the least proletariat or middleclass. The coastal Mediterranean forest imbued with lavender, neroli and citrus is a pleasant place to visit. Threads of geranium, petit grain and galbanum woven around a base of sharp vetiver and soapy musk are a class act all the way when Acqua di Parma puts them forward. Colonia Club, in my opinion, is more of a revival or adaption of the Italian barbershop “aguas” than some sort of non-starter because it is done with the traditions of these aromatic fougeres in mind but has a few modern twists which are clever enough to be used in the real world, in real life settings that men a
