Description

In August 2015 MIU MIU begins the sales of their first perfume Miu Miu which was, according to Caroline Javoy, vice-chairman of marketing at Coty Inc., created as “unique, youthful, bright colors and sophisticated.”

Miuccia Prada wanted to intertwine the provocative, attractive spirit of the brand Miu Miu into the composition and the design of the fragrance bottle, and the brand of Prada helped develop the first Miu Miu fragrance and to design this attractive flacon.

The composition of the fragrance is signed by perfumer Danielle Roche Andrier, known for her creations for the house of Prada (as well as Bvlgari, Marni, Bottega Veneta). As Danielle explains it, the focus is on lily of the valley flowers supported with floral notes of jasmine, rose and green notes, as well as a special ingredient created by Givaudan, akigalawood, which develops the scent of patchouli, notes of pepper and woody aromas of oud. The composition of Miu Miu fragrance opens in a fresh and floral manner, and as it develops it begins warmer and woodsier, says Danielle.

AKIGALAWOOD—a fractioned note of patchouli oil which contributes to the pepperish and woody character of the fragrance was created in Givaudan. The house highlights: “The new material has a similar profile as patchouli, combined with vibrant spicy shades of pepper and precious oud wood.”

The flacon of the first Miu Miu fragrance is inspired by the special material characteristic of luxurious Miu Miu’s matelassé leather bags. The turquoise flacon body repeats the pattern; the neck of the bottle is white, with the brand logo, while the stopper is made of a bright red plastic disk. The fragrance will be available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum accompanied with perfumed body care products (shower gel, body lotion, body cream).

The face of the advertising campaign is actress Stacy Martin, and the photographer of the advertising campaign is Steven Meisel. The first fragrance Miu Miu will be presented exclusively at Harrods in August 2015, while Neiman Marcusu and Bergdorf Goodman will host exclusive sales of the fragrance starting from September 2015 to December 2015.
The nose behind this fragrance is Daniela (Roche) Andrier.

Bought this almost out of impulse after i sprayed it on my jacket while going shopping. This fragrance seemed to me so sophisticated and classy but not in an old-woman way. I was attracted to the colors of the bottle too,i like the contrast of red and light blue. As for the fragrance itself i get an opening of pepper which lingers for a good while before the lily of the valley takes centre stage and the fragrance settles down to a powdery rose and lily fragrance. This one is the kind of perfume that opens up very strong and seem to have great projection only to fade away too quickly, not a bad thing as a greater projection with these notes will probably give me an headache. Unfortunately the love between me and Miu Miu didn’t last long time, maybe is too powdery? Maybe it reminds me of times i want to forget? I still have the bottle on my shelf and every now and then open it to smell it but i don’t feel ready to wear it again, it feels uplifting to smell it from time to time but i am still waiting for the occasion or the right mood to wear it again.

Very nice! Youthful, colorful, sophisticated, and unique. The bottle reminds me of LouLou Cacharel, same colors.

This is one of my favorite mainstream perfumes that has been launched in the last couple of years. It’s a beautiful floral perfume that’s cold and green.
I’ve smelt a lot of variations of lily of the valley perfumes and rose perfumes over the years, but have rarely seen a combination of the two at equal strengths like I’m smelling here. There is a pronounced woodsy backbone and I can’t help but think of florabontanica, because there is that little extra something pushing it beyond the frilly norm of a floral. Although, the frosted edgyness in here is just a whisper, and florabotanica is more flamboyant.
If I imagined miu miu as a person I think of a emotionally detached prodigy. A very smart little girl who does everything proper. She doesn’t understand the feelings of other and watches the world through curious eyes.

Flowers, innocense, powder, feminine, clean vintage kind of smell. Love it ! Hard to describe, must try. So lady like and sexy !

I received this sample from a friend, and I so wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it’s just a fresh, clean, green, modern floral exactly like every other fresh, clean, green modern floral out there. I’m calling it Eau de Gift with Purchase, as it smells like all the fragrances I’ve ever gotten in a GWP package from a cosmetic line. Inoffensive and forgettable. Weirdly, for the five or so hours it lasted on me, I had this odd chemical taste in my mouth, the kind I sometimes get when I apply bug repellant. Will be passing this along.

I have a sampler of this, and frankly, the stuff reeks. To call it perfume is a stretch. Maybe it’s my nose, but I can’t find any LOTV or anything else in this stuff.
Just to be sure, I will try it again. Maybe it’ll win me over the second time.
Well, I did retry it again, the very next day. And frankly, it’s not a reeker. Not sure why I thought it was … but I’ll leave the original review up as an example of how strange one’s perception of smell can be.
So, Miu Miu Miu Miu: It’s light and fresh, and almost masculine on me. It smells like some cheapie men’s colognes I’ve tried. Still not getting any LOTV or any flower note at all. Strange stuff. Not bad, not offensive in any way, but not great either.

This is my second bottle of this perfume. I really adore Miu Miu. Normally perfumes doesn’t last long on me but this one is special. I can smell it the day after I wear on my shirt and hair. it reminds me fresh cut green grass, so memories comes back from the childhood. Such a lovely fresh perfume.

I dont know why, but this scent is what I expected Chloe by Chloe to smell like. It as that vintage rose vibe but without the powdery side that to me is a little too cloing with Chloe. It is a little more green than blue, wich the bottle made expect someting more aquatic, but I am happy to have found a vintagy fragrance that does’nt smell like an old lady!

This perfume is my safe go-to during spring and summer time, but I’ll admit it is a perfect choice all year long.
I just LOVE the combination of pepper with lily of the valley. On one hand, this creation is light, easy to wear, happy and almost simple. On the other hand, the peppery notes refine this scent, making it more complex and sophisticated.
I’ve tried the other two newest Miu Miu and they’re both as lovely, bust since they all share the same DNA I’ll wait until I’m done with the first bottle of the original before adding the other beauties to my collection.

This was the worst perfume I ever put on my body – couldn’t get rid of my sample fast enough. I actually think I threw it in the trash, not wishing to subject anyone else to it. I’m reading through these reviews now wondering how the heck anyone was able to parse out any “notes” with Miu Miu by Miu Miu, because one little spray on my wrist and it was like a took a swan dive into a vat of black pepper. It was so strong and all-encompassing that I feared black pepper would be the only thing I’d ever smell again. I nearly threw up, it was so nauseating.

I quite like the green floral combination. To me, this fragrance is one-of-a-kind. Maybe I haven’t smelled enough perfume, but there is nothing else that I have found to be similar to my nose.

  13. :

It has a very classic/vintage feel to it, don’t think it’s old lady-ish — like some people below commented… It’s actually the opposite: youthful and cheerful. And I’m a sucker for cute furry animals so I bought it. Haha
It’s a little bit green, little bit woody and flowery. A perfect middle of the road for me since not fond of overly musky or green and/or citrusy scents but wanted a light hearted and fresh fragrance for the summer.
Due to the peppery note I’d say it’s not a safe blind buy.

  14. :

    3 out of 5

The opening is robust Lily of the Valley with citrus accords. Miu Miu has a classic, slightly vintage vibe. For me the drydown is the star, transitioning this flowery composition Into an exotic evening scent.
Akigalwood is not that familiar to me, but I’m thinking that’s what makes this one interesting. Longevity and projection are in an acceptable range. I think this is most unusual, but understand how Miu Miu is a polarizing scent.
I am a fan of the perfumer’s work (Angelique Noir and Infusion D’Iris are both favorites). Play it safe and sample before buying.

It is a lily of the valley scent, as well some green leavey notes. For me it is so much lily of the valley that i dont like it.
Other version l’eau bleue i like. Just this one didnt go with my taste. But i recommend to a lovers of this note. Yes is a bit soapy at the end, after 1 h or so.

I don’t get powder and I don’t dislike it, but it does read “old lady’ a bit. The bottle on the other hand is absolutely fantastic.

I blind bought this at Costco online, thinking that I would like it based on the reviews. I’m sure it must be lovely on another person, but with my skin chemistry, this was straight-up headache-inducing powder to my nose. I usually adore green fragrances, but I could detect very little green behind the strong powder note.

Love this: it’s all LOTV, rose and deepened by musk and wood with a little tart black current splash but not a fruity floral. Just a lovely, dark LOTV and rose! This gets deeper and smokier in the base. The wood and musk really come through. Perfection. That makes it more than a spring floral.

A dear friend gave me her sample of this wonderful, very unique perfume last week. I just put it on today, and I am so delighted! It has a white flowery blast at first, but the dry down is very woodsy, musky and so beautiful. I may just have to get me a bottle! Love it!!!

  20. :

Hmm.. I actually like this perfume!
It smells very fresh and clean, green but not too green. Just clean. I am not a fan of green, but there is something peppery/woody about it that keeps it away from green territory. To me it smells of flowers, jasmine and just a little bit of rose. LOTV – only in the opening. And in the drydown this woodsiness kicks in. I don’t detect peach, which is for the best for me.
That’s pretty much how i would describe it: fresh-flowery-green-woody. Maybe i am not surprised it has so many dislikes, my guess it smells too different from the most perfume on the market today. At least it does for me. It is a stand out among all the sweet stuff.
It seems to be aimed at younger women, but it doesn’t smell girly to me. I think any woman in her 30-s can wear it.
I will definitely wear it some times this spring. And the bottle is lovely!

Fresh, green, citrusy, has a woody hint, and a less recognisable musky hint!!
a great fresh fragrance to start with, for a sunny day after you take your shower, boost your energy 😉

I got this for Christmas last year and have quite a lot left in the bottle because it has taken me a while to really warm to it. My first reaction was that this is a perfectly pleasant perfume but surprisingly ladylike. Miu Miu has a quirky image but this perfume is actually a classic floral, albeit with the addition of pepper. I’ve started wearing it more frequently and I’m liking it more and more – there is a place for elegant florals, even if this isn’t destined to be one of the true greats.
The longevity and sillage are both massive. I used a meeting room at work for a meeting that lasted about an hour. After I had left the room, I had to go back in for some reason and the whole room seemed filled with Miu Miu. That was at about 3 in the afternoon and I had sprayed it on at about 8:30 in the morning. No one had complained!

God ! The jasmine inside is like AMAZIIING !!
    I mostly love sweet fragrances
But the other day I watched Jeremy fragrance review asking girls to vote for a review and that was one of the choices
And as I trust his opinions i thought i should buy it n test it even if it seems not my type
And guess what I am amazed of the scent of jasmin
It gives me the feelig of spring

This perfume boosts my energy somehow, realistic green and a little sharp but so refreshing like breathing pure air in a prairie. It might be a little agressive the first time you smell it but chances are to get addictive, just give it a chance to introduce it self. It’s perfect for summer and spring time but personally I enjoy it even more in cold days as a “wake me up” in the morning. Oh and I absolutely love the bottle.

  25. :

This perfume opens up with fresh citrus notes. It turns green after a few minutes and slightly sweet and woody after a few hours. At this time it’s gorgeous. The musk note is very subtile. I like it!

  26. :

I keep ending up with samples of MIU MIU and every time I give it a chance to win me over. It never does. This fragrance smells like another scent I encountered, and I can’t remember which (lurk through my reviews if you are so inclined). Maybe that is a sign this perfume is pedestrian and unoriginal. Certainly not a memorable combination.
Unfortunately, I don’t get the experience others are describing. On me it’s: Delicate white florals, faint citrus, and the tiniest amount of pepper. Mellows out with time and becomes sweeter. But not that groundbreaking! Wish it weren’t so, but here we are.

Эти духи просто обалденные! Не понимаю почему их не ахти оценили, но они просто бомба! Не делают головной боли, а это редкость, уж слишком много химии на продаже.

I believe this is my 2nd review. This bottle is SO cute! Would love to add it to my collection. This scent isn’t typically something I would purchase, but when I spray my sample, I can’t seem to stop smelling it! It is quite heavy on the peppery side, but it takes some getting used to until you won’t mind it anymore (I’m hoping

The adorable bottle of this fragrance really matches the scent inside. Soft, sweet florals. Fresh greens. All accented by creamy, woodsy, and strangely peppery notes that give it just the right kind of edge. Right on brand for Miu Miu; girly but slightly off kilter. Definitely worth a try.

  30. :

    3 out of 5

I find this very unique and I cannot think of anything that smells like it. Judging from the bottle I expected something superficial girly but the scent has actual depth; floral woody, warm spicy, feminine. The lily of the valley comes out quite strongly and I even smell some rose along with it. On me moderate sillage and very good longevity – lasted a whole work day.

  31. :

This smells like any typical celebrity fragrance out there. Just low end sweet and fruity.

  32. :

    3 out of 5

I’m not sure what akigalawood is, but after testing Miu Miu know I don’t like it. The opening of Miu Miu is all about the fresh, green lily of the valley which is very nice. If it stayed like this, I would love this perfume. However the lily fades all too quickly, only to be replaced by the akiagalawood and musk. I wish I could say I like this phase of the perfume but the reality is that it completely ruins the perfume for me. This is one of those perfumes that must be tested on skin instead of simply sniffed from the bottle.
    Quirky fun bottle, though!

Hey out there into the nothingness.
What could one liken this fragrance to?
    Prada d’iris?
    Vera wang…
    Love some ideas 🙂

  34. :

    3 out of 5

So feminine with the lilies, but that is atop the akigalawood note that is wonderfully woody and peppery. It’s such a nice combination. But it makes my eyes itch and then my throat itch! I have never had this reaction to any natural or commercial perfumes before.
It’s different and special but get a sample before you buy. Sephora carries it.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Very cute, it looks like a modernized and neutralized version of many fragrances, a compendium of the “cools/greens/flowery” frags of the 80s end 70s.
Most of all Knowing and Anais Anais ( as said “purified” and updated) Eau du soir, Marc de la Morandiere Bleu de Chine, ecc ecc.. i find also similarity with the new panthere.
A Good classic vintage inspired perfume.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

This is a lovely lily-of-the-valley to woody scent that would suit any woman regardless of age, profession, or personality. It is definitely a “safe” fragrance that could not possibly offend, as it sits comfortably next to the skin and is neither too green nor too fruity/sweet.
As a child, I used to pick the lily-of-the-valley that grew just outside our house in a grassy flower bed. My favorite time to pick was right after a spring rainstorm when the blossoms were most fragrant. I would tie the stems end to end and drape around my neck, creating delicate “lei” fit for a queen. The scent was intoxicating and absolutely beautiful. Miu Miu does not capture this nostalgic moment entirely, because the aquatic note of the rain is not there, nor the green clover grass nearby. However, it is certainly a friendly nod to the experience.
This is just a nice, clean scent. It doesn’t stand out for what is IS, but rather, for what it ISN’T. (Sounds a bit Lewis Carroll, don’t you agree?!) As so many have stated, it ISN’T a dated scent; The rose and musk are difficult to detect, just lingering in the background. It ISN’T sweet, but the fruit is there, soft and subtle. It ISN’T revolutionary, remarkable, trendy, complex, strong, delicious, offensive, creative, or even a must-have. Sure, the dry-down is quite different from the opening spray, but that’s nothing new. It ISN’T bad, it ISN’T great. It’s just nice, plain and simple. And pretty. Very very pretty.
P.S. If I ever find a fragrance that brings my childhood lily-of-the-valley picking memories to life, I will come back and recommend. Now THAT would be a must-have!

  37. :

    5 out of 5

Green but not grassy, clean but not soapy, floral but not dated. I don’t know what I could compare this to, but I’m enjoying it! I would agree that this is classified as a floral despite the fruity notes listed. It does get warmer and woodsier on the drydown, this could work in the daytime or evening. Fresh and clean, a little sexy even. I’m pleasantly surprised.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

This adorable bottle contains very important liquid that serves an important function; that of introducing the current population to the idea of classic perfumery.
This is not a classic. It’s not even groundbreaking. But it’s a lovely, classy fragrance that will appeal to the young generation who fancy the vintage feel.
It’s something I might buy for a niece. Different enough from current trends that it’s refreshing.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

I too, must admit that the bottle had me sold. Never judge a book by its cover , I know, but I simply needed this sitting on my dresser. It was a blind buy as there was no tester, it was a great price and as far as I was concerned I had already won with its gorgeous appearance. When I tried it I was a little uninterested. It wasn’t bad but it was nothing sensational either, a bit ho-hum. As a result I’d not worn it properly, until this evening. I hopped out of the shower and wanted something different and not overpowering to wear, so I sprayed a little Miu Miu without thinking much of it. Now I’ve spent the last few hours lifting my wrist to my nose as this really is quite a lovely fragrance. Mainly what I’m getting now in the dry down is a slightly sweet, peppery, soft woody patchouli with green nuances. It’s gentle but constant. Easy to wear but different. I’m sorry I doubted Miu Miu now, but I know which fragrance I’ll be wearing tomorrow…

  40. :

I’ve also had a small sample of this lying in my drawer since the fall. I finally decided to give it a spin because of all the favorable reviews its been getting here.
Overall I like this better than I expected to.
It’s different from much of what I have, in a good way.
It’s an interesting fragrance that convincingly reconciles a number of seemingly disparate notes. I love the green top notes and the fruity/floral notes that characterize the middle.
I’m also fine with the pepper – initially – when it is still balanced by the other notes.
The problem is that this note continues to predominate the dry down, when it assumes a metallic aspect. Soon, it is all that is left and then it lingers for much longer than I would like.
So no, this isn’t for me. I’m hoping to sample its flanker though, where the pepper is supposedly a bit more muted.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I have this fragrance on right now and I can’t wait to take a shower. It’s a warm Spring day in my neck of the woods, and the heat is making this fragrance smell too perfumey and sticky. I’ve had a sample since the Fall of last year, and I can’t seem to finish it (bad sign). I love floral fragrances, but this is too peppery! I also tried it in cooler weather, but it still failed to impress me. I am a big fan of the Prada/Miu Miu aesthetic, but this fragrance is a no-go for me. I find the L’Eau Bleue flanker of this much more enjoyable, probably because it is less peppery. Happy sniffing!

  42. :

Never would have thought pepper and lily of the valley would work as a combo but it does. I am really digging how this evokes pepper, wood, and wet grass at the same time. Like I just plucked a pinecone from the ground and inhaled. Or the smell of wet wood before the sun heats it–like a cabin in the California wilderness after an early morning rainstorm. It’s very natural and calming. However, I feel like this scent works better on a crisp spring day than in the hot humid summer. In the heat the florals are lost and the pepper is too strong. A cousin first removed of Diptyque Eau Moheli.

  43. :

I will admit the bottle grabbed my attention and is probably the reason I tried this. This is a very crisp green floral – very green. I bought this for cheap as I found myself liking it more than I imagined that I would as I am normally not a huge lover of green fragrances. I think this is well done for a green grassy fragrance.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I have to say that I LOVE this scent. It has a lot of great crisp green notes with some subtle sweet florals. The peppery-woody “Akigalwood” base seems to be rather polarizing on here, but I really enjoy the unique spin it gives the fragrance. Low projections and sillage, but I can smell it on myself all day long. Great for the office!

Delicate, peppery, green notes. I notice the Lily of the Valley but it doesn’t smell the same old boring way. The wood notes add a little spice. Although it’s a very distinct and slightly masculine scent, it has very light and refreshing notes in it that make it a great option for a summer day out. It doesn’t carry too far so you wouldn’t have to worry about people close by complaining of the smell. The more I smell it, the more I like it.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

I’m not a LOTV fan in general, and am not a lover of fresh florals but got a sizeable lovely rollerball sample from Sephora and I must say I’m really enjoying this. It is perfect for the hot day that we’re going to have. It’s also far more complex than I was expecting with Lily of the Valley at the very top but it does warm up nicely and has green crunchy notes that exude a warmer base, a little narcissus smelling actually.
Is this original? Absolutely not. I’ve smelled this in various iterations before with other “fresh” perfumes. But it’s a very nice light floral fragrance with green crunchy notes. Most scents to me are unisex, but this one seems firmly “feminine” though it would be interesting to see how it develops on a guy.
As a “mall frag” this one moves us away from berry-fruit hell. Very office and work appropriate with low silage. I like it and will enjoy the sample and use up, and then move on.

It opens up bright and sharp, with jasmine in the forefront. Slightly soapy, and slightly sugary, it’s a good scent to wake up to. I just put some on after waking up and felt joyful. I could live with a full bottle of this…

I actually love this scent! As you can see from my profile I am new to the world of fragrances. Out of the few that I own, this one is my favorite thus far! I’m not sure what note it is, but it definitely has a peppery note at first spray. Then it settles into a citrusy green scent. The only downside is it doesn’t last long (unless I spray it on clothing) and the sillage is pretty light. I wish it were a bit stronger because I love the scent so much. I agree with other reviwers in that I wish the bottle were see through, but that’s just because I don’t want to run out of the stuff. This is definitely a nice spring and summer scent. The next bottle I buy will be the largest size.

Thanks to smellagents giveaway i now own a bottle of Miu Miu Miu Miu. I think this is perfect for spring and summer. I’ve been craving green scents and this is a beautiful, fun one. It opens with lily and lots of pepper! The akigalawood is responsible for all this pepper. Soon after i can smell rose, fresh and dewy, jasmine, musk and black current. This is green, fresh, floral. It’s dewy, musky in the drydown and so uplifting. It’s not a serious scent. It’s fun and carefree. The peppery note stays all the way to the end becoming more woody as it reaches dry down. Sillage is moderate to soft and longevity is around 5 to 6 hours. It works like magic with my skin chemistry. The lily reminds me of Haiku by Avon but this is so much more. I love it. Thank you smellagent;)

I was unimpressed with this when I sampled it at the dept store upon its release. However, I have had a sample lurking around for months, and I finally decide to give it a second and more through trial run. For my nose, this leads with a blast of citrus almost reminiscent of Calyx, to the extent I ran to Fragrantica to see if grapefruit is a note. It developed quickly into a citrus supported lily of the valley with hints of other florals dancing around the heart. I like this a lot and could see going FB for spring.

Perfumer Daniela Andrier wanted to open doors and windows with this fragrance ,when other fragrances want to play save and follow the trend of sugary sweet gourmand and pink bottles . This one stands out destincly as bright floral . She says they wanted to make it anti pink ,,,,
So what does Miu Miu smell like ? It’s all about Lilly of The Valley ,very realistic and green. It smells of rose and Jasmine following in a delightful fresh and slightly animalistic way which may be coming from the Jasmine !? Then there is this new basenote called Akigalwood that has notes of pepper and patchouli and reminiscence of an oud note which makes this fragrance not only peppery and minty but also unexpected and warm and interesting in the base.
The bottle is the my favourite part and I have been know to buy fragrances just for their bottles and then learned to like the fragrance ,,, with Miu Miu I was lucky enough to like the fragrance but the love came later. After several wearings I was convinced it was going home with me. It’s like a modern lou Lou bottle , I just love it ! I may even go as far as getting the hair mist and shower gel. I find this fragrance simply refreshing !
I can’t help to think of florabetonica by belenciaga ,,, another walk in the forest ,realistic and green, fresh and dewy.

This perfume opens exactly like a rose that grew in my garden when I was little. I have searched for a rose that smells just like this: peppery, steely, bright, and fresh.
The rose is called “souvenir de malamaison” and is a heritage breed, pink with densely packed petals.
I am happy with this perfume’s opening, I wish it stayed just as peppery in the dry down though. It becomes a little bit sweeter and bit more ordinary.
Worth it to me for the nostalgia though!
Also- can not lose with the retro bottle and the kitten ad campaign.

This is a top 5 scent for me! The floral opening is less than unique, but still lovely and well-blended. What does it for me is an interesting peppery-ness in the dry down that I can’t get enough of. This surely comes from the wood note. On me it’s floral and pepper, but I can understand some of the reviewers’ ‘bug spray’ assessment. It’s def a unique element that may not be compatible with everyone’s tastes or body chemistry. I, however, am in love <3

Does anyone have an empty bottle of this? Or getting close to finishing it and will soon have an empty bottle? I don’t like this fragrace, but I LOVE the bottle! I’d absolutely love to have it on my vanity. Message me if so! I’ll delete this if/when I get one 🙂

The opening! It smells exactly like a rose that was in my garden when I was younger, this rose had densely packed petals and was a beautiful deep purple-pink flat top cupped blossom (rather than the more standard rose bloom shape. It’s scent was heavenly. I don’t like perfumes that are “rose” usually – however Miu Miu has the genuine scent of this special rose bloom I described and it’s delicious.
The perfume changes very much for me and overall is a sort of spicy floral scent which is alright. It lasts well

I thought this was going to be a cloying sweet fragrance. I didn’t know why. Until I decoded lost memories. The colors of the bottle reminded me of Cacharel LouLou ( the original from 1987) and oh, my, did I detested that perfume!
But Miu Miu starts bright, airy, fruity but very light.
Lily of the valley and rose walk hand by hand for a while at least until musk and afterwards the wood notes join the composition.
I don’t know exactly what is it but it smells a little too synthetic at this point, perhaps the Lilly of the valley and musk are too much for my nose, who knows.
But anyways, I have to confess that I’m in love with the opening, simply delicate, young and fresh.
The middle is a risky affair, and the drydown is alright.
But in general I’m surprised, it’s better than I expected.

Take no notice of the adverts. This is a well-mannered, rather conservative woody floral in the classic mould, not the quirky, daring and original scent the ads would have you believe. The lily of the valley shines through, although not as assertively as in Diorissimo. Here it is blended with other white flowers. The wood adds a peppery note. This isn’t one of the greats, but it is very nice. I could imagine wearing this to work every day. Sillage is moderate and it lasts well. The bottle is cute too. This would be a good gift for a young woman who hasn’t found her personal style yet.

Green florals must be increasing in popularity as I’m starting to notice less sweet gourmands flooding the market and more fresh green florals being promoted in glamourous, glitzy bottles. Miu Miu is no exception, being a very pretty and crisp take on lily of the valley and jasmine.
I do enjoy Miu Miu, maybe not enough to purchase it, but enough to appreciate it for what it’s worth. I love the 70’s vibe that Miu Miu’s advert conveys to the public. I think this era matches the scent perfectly, especially seeing that big, green powerhouse fragrances like Chanel No.19 and Diorella were also commonly worn in the 1970’s.
I get a lot of jasmine, lily of the valley, white musk and bergamot from this fragrance. Miu Miu strikes me as the perfect balance of florals, greeness and sweetness. It’s very feminine and definitely Spring-appropriate.
Women in their late 20’s and older will most likely be Miu Miu’s biggest fans. Younger women may be drawn in by the quirky bottle design but as a whole may find the scent a little off-putting as it’s not your typical mainstream floral.
In terms of longevity Miu Miu has excellent lasting power, and the sillage although moderate does meet all my expectations. It’s not my personal cup of tea sadly, but I do consider it one of the better new releases of recent years.

This started as a fresh, dewy subdued floral. During the first hour, I smelled the slightest hint of sweetness (maybe fruits?) and somewhat liked the fragrance. It smelled “romantic” and had balance. Unfortunately in hours 2-4, I got the strangest smell. More ladylike, but “Cat Lady”, not Posh Lady. I eventually took a shower in order to scrub the scent off. It seems to be a well-done fragrance with fair longevity and could work for some people but didn’t fit my body chemistry or personality.

This isn’t a review per se just guessing that the Akigalawood is giving off the pepper vibe to those wondering where it’s coming from.

I like the opening. It’s peppery and has slight steel quality to it. It then dries down to Lily of the valley and rose. Dry down is what’s boring and linear for me. Best part is it’s longevity.
Also one more thing I wanted to add: What’s with perfume bottles going opaque? I want my perfume bottles to be at least slight see through to be able to see both quantity and the quality in perfumes. It kind of pleases my senses and wallet at the same time.

I can’t get past the strong smell of pepper. But, wait a minute, there’s no pepper note listed in the ingredients. So why am I smelling pepper?

On first spray, I get a soft green floral. It is so soft, that I immediately reapplied. Within minutes, it was gone. I am literally pressing my nose to my wrists and getting nothing. I am smelling my unscented deodorant and lotion more than this perfume, even when I oversprayed!
I was even prepared to like this in spite of the tacky mod bottle, silly name, and cat campaign. I just can’t smell it.
ETA: half and hour to an hour later, I started sneezing, and smelled a slightly musky, powdery skin scent. And it is gone again, but that might be because I am now stuffed up from the sneezing.
Edit 2: I swear I am TRYING to like this one, but I just put it on my daughter. Yep, Febreeze. The dry down is straight up febreeze. Maybe I am glad I can’t smell it on me.
