I bought this from all beauty for under a fiver..really to make the order up to £20 so I could have free postage …any excuse to try something! I had no idea it was a celebrity fragrance or who Emina is (a Turkish/Serbian superstar) Anyway,it comes in a nice heavy bottle, is subtley fruity and lingering..I rather like it. A big improvement on my previous purchase of a Turkish fragrance, which I recently discovered was a Citronella spray. Red face and apologies to Turkish members, I was an ignorant tourist.

No reviews… In moments like those I always feel sad for not being an expert so I could help dear fellow fragranticans. Even when the scent is nothing to write home about, still every perfumista is glad to hear new info on scents they cannot try in their countries…
This is the first celebrity scent I have tried so I will use this chance to mention some thoughts on celeb scents in general.
I have always been wondering why they make scents at all, and even more, why they sell them. Creating your perfume is a dream-come-true for me,but as the things are right now, not many common people share this opinion. No one ever asks you what you are wearing, many don’t wear scents themselves and rarely even bring up the topic of scents. If we were to judge the situation solely based on celebrities, one would think we are living in a perfume heaven where everyone cares what they smell like.
Lets allow that celebs, unlike other common mortals, enjoy perfumes. Then tell me,when did you last hear them discuss perfumes in their interviews on the radio,tv or newspapers? Make-up, dresses, newborn babies, new cds –yes, perfumes –only in the following cases- when they come up with a new one, or the n-th version of the old one or when they star in a commercial for some perfume. Yes only then, and never again.
Thus, we will conclude that they don’t give a damn about perfumes, whats more, I have heard on this very site that they do not wear their attempts (well if you had money for Teint de nege every month guess u would have to consider it once more as well.)
You do not wear it, you are not educated to create perfumes, you don’t care about them-then why create it? One of the answers might be-a ticket to eternal remembrance, a place in history. It does not hold water because it has been proven,on multiple occasions, that not so many celeb scents have made it so it is unlikely this business will make them more recognized than what they do in their careers. The only logical answer I know of is-to empty peoples pockets. No one can forbid them to deal with as many jobs as they possibly can, just like no one can force us to buy their scents. Personally, with cd,concert and royalties revenue, I wouldn’t profit by something I am not educated to do and snatch the market from those who have crammed damn lots of serious chemistry and god knows what not for years to be able to perform their job properly. Yea,personally I wouldn’t,but it is just me. Besides, it is very interesting to notice how you suddenly get talent for creating perfumes as soon as your pockets are full. Actors, singers,models- they are suddenly all equally talented to create perfumes;congradulations, latent perfumers woke up in them finally.
Now Emina’s scent- First of all, that long-awaited pyramid never arriving as if she has just made a perfume that makes you immortal-makes no sense.
The bottle is not ugly but feels terrifyingly heavy,as if I am carrying 100 gemstones around, waiting for someone to ring my neck and take them; it also evokes the idea of using that perfume eternally and never running out of it (and therefore never thinking a new purchase justified.) And to be honest, it is not something I would want to wear till the end of time.
It is amazing how many factors influence our purchases. Mood, prejudices and affordability are something I had known about. A new thing I have learnt with this perfume is-the feel you are missing. Even if I might have recognized this on a subconscious level, I never thought it could be so crutial. I have been missing soapy perfumes, having spent all of them. I have been testing many perfumes recently and not any of them was even remotely soapy. The sailsperson sprayed this one on my rist and it promised the desired feel. I remained in the store checking shoure creams and I enjoyed the scent so much thati had to pay 3000 dinars, a price no sane celeb would ask having lived in this region (especially knowing that good doops can be bought in third the price;in countries more prosperous than mine celebs ask less for their scents.)
I brought it home and enjoyed for the next few wears and then felt, to my uttor horror, that it gave me no more kicks. It was, after all, a scent that starts with some fruits that remind me of apple, and goes strongly soapy and a tad floral as well. The sillage is moderate, it lasts long. Not smooth or elegant soap I was looking for, just sharpish fruits followed by nice enough, not sharp but just common, generic soapy scent. The result- I miss my Charming even more and regret giving that much money. I am sure I will use it up though, since I do not hate it, and if I was richer I guess I would not have cared. Not sure when to use it, perhaps in warmer weather,in the winter it wont stand a chance against my great stuff. There are two positive things to mention about this perfume, though. Firstly, it is a good option when you do not feel like waring a perfume due to sickness or fatigue but u don’t want to go out scentless. Secondly, it is undoubtedly clean, even in a garlic- packed kitchen or petrol-saturated street you will not fail to notice its clean, if fragile, aura floating above and the contrast will make you amuzed. Lovers of soapy scents wont object to anything else, apart from originality perhaps. Don’t know if I am hallucinating but after I first smelled this perfume I think I recognize it on many people around. Not sure where this Emina-induced perfume revolution will lead. Maybe it will produce string of generations of Closer wearers or,more favourably but less likely, make our country and region a place where perfumes are greatly valued (for this outcome I would be really thankful and perhaps would even stop regretting my cash.) It remains to see. Till then try it,soapy lovers, if you have a chance,if not you are not missing too much. But who knows, someone might love it more than me, why not give it a try. If nothing else, it is recognizably soapy and nothing offensive about it (if we don’t count the first blast of fruits, which can be avoided with lighter hand, although light spraying is not the best option with this perfume.)
I am not here to talk bad about celeb scents (or any type of scents for that matter) and will always give them credit when I think they deserve it. Like we have said here many times, perfume is a highly personal matter, and if this one makes anyone here feel happy and smile,I will be glad to know.
P.S. One thing is true- having heard her voice and knowing her style of dressing the perfume she came up with suits her well, this is what I had imagined itould smell like; yet paying outrageous prices for her name (or anyones name) makes no sense.
