    I disliked the scent note mix. I think the sweet caramel, floral rose and fruit scents of mandarin and berries just didn’t mix well for my nose.

    this is boring cheap scent < too heavy bottle and not in a good way , i think it’s bottle is boring too ,the whole theme is boring -_- i hate it when they blend citrus with heavy scent like amber , it become strange and there is no harmony at all , but i will wear it cuz i couldn’t throw it back i bought the whole bottle already without testing it cuz i THOUGHT it will be perfect .never mind i can stand it it’s not that bad after all , just ordinary cheap perfume 🙁
    _longevity & sillage are really weak though it’s a lot of money cost!
    update_ it become nice amber scent with a light whisper of mandarin after hours of spraying it , which made me very happy , at least i can enjoy it after the top notes disappear , it become nice and warm , u could say seductive too..

    Ordered a sample as I love the scent of Amber. I am somewhat disappointed however. It smells as cheap as it is. First notes are strongly citrus and Jasmine on me. Fades quickly to a faint orangey Amber scent. Can’t really smell the caramel. Too sharp and overpowering but thankfully only lasts a few hours. Needs a stronger base note.

    It is warm, sharp and sweet. It is really nicely blended actually, I wasn’t expecting it to be so well put together. Caramel and amber either work brilliantly together or clash in my opinion, they fuse together in this lovely, it is blended really well. Smells really expensive I am impressed, sweet but not synthetically sweet at all. You really can’t go wrong for £14, well worth the money- smells very high end. My second favourite from Christian Lacroix after Rouge. I have had compliments wearing this from men and women. They always seem super suprised when I say it is available from Avon. There is no build up with this perfume though, it smells lovely and luxurious from first spritz it is rich and and textured, but it does not have different layers and feels to it so to speak, it is rather safe in that way. Also I have just bought it in the summer time, I think this perfume is more for autumn winter so I will save it for then and will do another review. A very safe gift for women 21+ I think it might be a little too sophisticated for a younger teenage girl to appreciate. It is classy and luxurious, but I think it is best for the winter months, it is too warm and sweet for summer, will be a very comforting fragrance in the colder months.
    smells nothing like little red dress, I own both and there is no similarity at all to me.
    Scent= 6.8/10
    Silage=5/10
    Longevity=7/10
    Bottle=7/10

    I absolutely adored the Absynthe, did not like Amethyst and Rogue at all, and so far I’m loving Ambre, maybe even more than Absynthe, I get a lot of compliments wearing it too.
    The scent is warm and daring, makes you feel confident wearing it.

    Normally I would not engage in such trivial banter, but it humors me that in attacking Americans who would prefer to have an American company offer their products in America (not unreasonable, IMO), the poster “icecube” accuses Americans of thinking the “world evolves” around us.
    Pardon me, but I believe the correct idiom is “the world revolves around us,” evolution creating a very different scenario than revolution.

    Way too much amber for me, it is cloying. I get faint caramel and no mandarin, so much amber makes a scent smell cheap in my opinion.

    I definitely agree with AmazonGrace. What’s with Avon and not releasing new fragrances in the US? For example, I counted about 52 perfumes in the UK brochure and 31 in the US. Alot of those perfume I would love to try, and I’m sure others want to try too.

    On me i detect citrus only….Don’t know where is that caramel I was so excited about when reading about the notes….

    I absolutely love this! It initially smells of caramel mixed with citrus which gives it a nice edge. it softens after short while to a lovely smooth, delicious, sexy scent. Makes me feel so good! I adore the bottle too. Longevity is moderate. A great perfume for the winter party season.

    Hi, I agree that after over 1 hour it shows some similarity to Little Red Dress, but not too much of it. LRD has some beautiful woodsy/raspberry note while this one is a mixture of dried orange peel and amber. While I’m a huge fan of Little Red Dress, I don’t think I’ll become a big fan of Ambre… But I always like to give at least one more chance to a perfume, so I might yet change my mind:)

    So I decided to ask my Avon lady for a brochure and it came with a tester for Ambre!! I was so excited! I tested it on my hand and I got the caramel immediately, no citrus at all, but this might be because I dabbed it from the sample bottle, not sprayed it. I decided I would wear it today from fresh in the morning. So I dabbed it more liberally. Again, sweet, warm, comforting (again, I might be biased here because I love amber an I love Christian Lacroix creations for Avon…) I can’t detect my beloved amber well, I guess its there, but it smells more vanilla-y at the moment. I don’t think it smells like Clinique Happy which to me is very sharp fresh scent, Ambre is calm, enveloping, cozy… but I do see why for some people is nothing special. I will buy it just because i wan’t to collect all these gorgeous bottles, and I want to experiment wearing it in different temperatures. I don’t want to give up on it!
    Edit: Wore it for a few hours and its completely dissappeared. Acyually, it only lasted a couple of hours… undecided about buying it or not…

    So I’ve been wearing Ambre for some days now, and must say that it is a quite pleasant smell and actually reminds me of Si by Armani. It is sweet, but zesty freshness by the mandarin orange and red berries calms it down a bit. It is also quite citrusy at the start, bet settles down immediately. As I said it is very pleasant and I do like it, but I agree that for someone it will be boring, watered down version of something etc. The sillage and longevity is moderate as well. But it is still nice!

    Please keep the reviews coming! Amber is my last scent crush and I have far too many perfumes but this is oh so tempting! I will like to read as many reviews as possible to make my mind up about ordering it! Thanks <3

    This reminds me SO MUCH oh Clinique happy! I get a touch of citrus, deep but barely smoky amber, lots of jasmine. Nothing I’ d fall in love with unfortunately.

    Just ordered this yesterday and going to receive this on Friday! 🙂 I hope that it will smell as good as the notes sound! Recently started wearing my heavy sugars like Far Away by Avon, Fantasy by Britney Spears and Dynastie by Princesse Marina de Bourbon – you can feel the winter coming! I don’t really worry about the sillage and longevity as even being quite new to the fragrance loving world, I’ve noticed that what lingers on some, doesn’t on others and vice versa. Anyways, keeping my fingers crossed!

    I had the sample and was looking forward to trying it, but found the whole thing very dull – lots of citrus, only a hint of faded amber. Won’t be buying the full bottle at £20, that’s for sure.

    I was looking forward to this one so much as it has all the givens to become by all time favorite but in the least – this fall`s favorite. I love the ingredients: amber that would give the comforting warmth, caramel that would give happy indulging feeling, balsamic – mystery. But it`s not even close to what I have envisioned it to be or what it could have been. If it was not the bottle and the ingredient list I would not even take the time to sniff it. The smell is just boring, no layers to it, no mystery, no deep comforting feeling, nor joy. It is yet another ordinary perfume to run the errands.

    Why is this classified as an oriental vanilla when there’s no vanilla in the notes? 🙂

    Nice amberish-sweetish scent, much lighter than what I expected, but still quite a pleasant smell. Silage and longevity is moderate on me. It’s my second favorite from the Christian Lacroix creations for Avon – after Nuit. Reminds me of Boss Orange Hugo Boss for women.

    So excited!!! 😀 I did enjoy all previous Lacroix’s Avon collaborations! I was wondering if they would release anymore.
    Waiting for the release in Australia – or else I’ll buy from eBay.
    The notes look inviting, I’m a fan of rose and amber. Will update once I have purchased. 🙂

    I love Lacroix/Avon’s Absynthe, but not so much the Rouge. I never tried Nuit–it was never released in the US. So, do you plan to make this one available to your home country, Avon? That would be mighty generous of you.
