Description

Interestingly, the term “milkshake” first appeared in the US in 1885 referring to a tonic made with eggs and whiskey. Thanks to the invention of the blender in 1922, the drink gained a new version that became popular in the adolescent meeting points as a combination of milk, malt, and vanilla and chocolate syrup. Later, with the advent of the ice cream machine in 1936, the milkshake finally gained its current form.
Choco Frap is an abstract olfactory reconstruction that emulates the three main adjectives of the famous drink: refreshing (citruses, leaves, lavender), airy (iris, almond, musk) and creamy (chocolate, vanilla, coconut). A mild and pleasant gourmand scent.

Choco Frap by Daniel Barros is a Oriental Vanilla fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Choco Frap was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Daniel Barros. Top notes are bergamot, lemon, green leaves and lavender; middle notes are iris, heliotrope, coconut and almond; base notes are sandalwood, dark chocolate, cashmeran, musk and vanilla.

Although many of the perfumes of the Barista collection are inspired by alcoholic beverages there is a part of the collection dedicated to combinations where there an alcohol presence is not necessary. Chocofrap form along with lavender chai and tonkaccino the trio “liberated to people under 18 years.” While lavender chai honors tea and tonkaccino coffee, chocofrap is an ode to a perfume chocolate with a texture of a milkshake.
Typically chocolate perfumes are often explored in two ways: either wrapped in materials that make it very sweet or with dark and unsweetened with its most bitter and earthy aspect linked to patchouli. In Chocofrap we see a third dimension of chocolate, its most aerated and powdery side. It is still possible to see its darker aspect and even its sweet and vanillic side, only they are put at the service of a composition that balances lactic nuances, fresh and citrus aspects, coconut tones and the necessary and expected creaminess of a milkshake. At the base you can see the sandalwood and musks acting to sustain milk and creamy feeling that pervades the perfume as a whole.
Despite the drink that inspires not be something short in calories Chocofrap just acts as a light gourmand compared to the typical profile of this olfactory family. Its charm and secret lies precisely in the juxtaposition if olfactory textures of different materials that together create a very warm and soft aura of an airy, creamy and slightly icy chocolate milkshake.

A bit misleading name for me. I didnt really get a chocolate milk shake personally. I found this to be very light and airy, not only did I find it not to be particularly tasty I found it to be pretty wearable in a sense that while wearing it I could even see myself wearing it during the summer. This just didnt have the richness or well the chocolate to it for me. I guess the citrus was supposed to give it a cool tinge like a cold chocolate milk shake, but it actually to my nose made it even potentially well.. clean and slightly soapy. The florals were also quite noticeable. But then again fragcom does love iris so maybe some will like that….
As it dries down certainly its a little more creamy and a little more potentially tasty and my thing but still even then more of a slightly buttery creamy sandlewood than anything chocolate to me….
Not a bad scent, but disappointed if going by the name for me.
