I have personally never understood the appeal of Chance or any of the flankers that follow it .
It smells pleasant , but rather boring . It seems like a perfume for women who do not want much of a scent .

In my opinion this flanker is the best of all of the Chance versions. It is FAR better. So much so that I purchased a 3.4 ounce backup of this beautiful smell. It is green and pretty, semi sweet, with very nice projection and longevity. I cannot imagine anyone not loving this.

This has been my go to perfume for about ten years now and I still love it and keep coming back to it. To this day, I get compliments pretty much every time I wear it and so many people who I’m around often tell me that when they smell this, they smell me. It is light and fresh but bold and feminine. To me there’s nothing that compares. It could last a little longer, but I just carry a small bottle in my purse so I never run out. I’ve tried escaping it, but it always sucks me back in. I’m sure I’ll be wearing t ten years from now.

Very nice, fresh fragrance. I do find the drydown quite masculine: if it didn’t say “pour femme” I’d probably think it was an unisex perfume. However, I don’t find this is necessarily bad. Many women won’t mind, and after all the vibe is fairly subtle.

I in love with this perfume, so elegant, crispy and femenine!, yes!, I find this one so femenine, I can´t feel the masculine side that someone say. A must have for summer season.

My relationship with Eau Fraîche is kinda like those kids on the playground in primary school that push each other down and pull hair and call each other names, but it’s really because they have a crush on each other.
For years I’ve been convinced that I loathed Eau Fraîche—now that I think about it, I can’t even place exactly why I had such a strong hatred for it, other than it just wasn’t really my style. Perhaps the cedar note rubbed be the wrong way, as it tends to be one of my least favorite notes in perfumery. Maybe because I liked all of the other flankers in the Chance line it besmirched what I otherwise considered a perfect collection. Or maybe I was a bit sanctimonious and thought fresh and clean fragrances were juvenile and I was above it because I wore Shalimar (sometimes my perfume snobbery rears its ugly head, I can admit it). But oh god, what a beauty I’ve been missing out on… I’m enchanted. After all this time, we welcome each other with open arms. To me, Eau Fraîche is the smell of crystalline water, but without being an aquatic or marine scent. I can’t explain it. It’s magical. On my skin, it is a refreshing splash of cool spring water each time I smell it.
This is such a classic case for me: I dislike a fragrance and swear it off, even though I can’t stop revisiting it, reluctant to admit that I’m actually in love. I am in love with Eau Fraîche, and I can’t wait to make some memories with it.

    Sweet, yet robust.
Imagine a sweet and calm woman with light hair color,
With her thin glasses, reading a book, wearing her fresh clean jeans and shirt.
The smell would suits her perfectly.
It’s weird when people say they smell lemon
While i smell strong similarity to Melon Syrup with lingering musk
    Longevity : 8 / 10
    Projection : 6 : 10

Even tho I have this perfume I can definitely say that is not one of my favorites, not one bit! It smells very masculine, can totally be used by a man and well I don’t want to smell like a guy sooo…. your choice .

  9. :

Lemon, cedar, fresh, sparkling. This is unisex – a man could easily wear this. Great for summer. Easily could be masculine as feminine.
I got three compliments the first day I wore it.(RB, EP, AM) Definitely a must-buy.

This is very sporty light modern young boyish perfume ..or would be more similar to brands of sporty wear like Ralph Lauren, lacoste, gap..etc.. Doesn’t smell like chanel big name haute cotoure house .. Not worth the brand name nor the money
Don’t get me wrong ..but its not luxury smell.. Just casual to wear as a body mist for after gym .. So save your money for something much cheaper if you like this smell
Smells like lacoste in the pink tall bottle and a little like cool water

Is this similar to Chanel Poudre 19 minus the powdery scent ? Which is better ?

Wilczyca’s review (two below mine) is the best review of any fragrance I’ve ever read. Her review applies 100% to me. I wanted a green fragrance as an alternative to all my fruity/floral/gourmands. Chance Eau Fraiche was the nicest. I don’t wear it often, but when I do, I always get compliments.

Unisex, light and fresh. I’m not talking about ”just out the shower citrus fresh” but a classy, seductive fresh.

Let’s start with the fact that I am more of a “disgustingly sweet perfume/gourmand/vanilla orientals” kind of a girl. I had serious problems with finding a fresh perfume that I would like. Started to think that fresh perfume might not be for me. To my unexperienced nose they all smelled like some sort of a variation of cucumber and plastic (I know, I am weird). Perhaps it was the “aquatic” accord, or some sort of an apple mixture that causes synthetic cucumber feeling to me. I tested many of them and couldn’t find anything.
But as the heat weave hit here, I realised that I really, REALLY have to make a new friend. I must stop suffocating people with sweet perfumes when it’s so hot (no one complained yet but I can imagine it is a pain). And that new friend of mine is Chance Eau Fraiche. Finally, a fresh perfume that I can enjoy, hooray! No cucumber-ish feeling!
It was recommended by the lady in the shop when I asked for something crisp and clean. I was very surprised cause I loved it since first sniff. I haven’t even waited for it to set down, instantly I put my curious nose, fell in love and I almost bought it just based on opening. Then I told myself to calm down and wait. And waiting has proven that after a while it is still amazing.
To me it smells like lime with a hint of a dry green tea in the background (it is not present in notes but I just happen to have a lot of citrus tea on my shelves, so my brain makes an association). Reminds me of a stroll in the garden. People are sitting under the trees and drinking tea with lime. Flower petals are falling, the wind is blowing, the sun is shining through green leaves.
Opening is insanely fresh and attractive, then it kind of calms down and the woody notes start to play. It is beautiful and aromatic. Some of the flowers come out as well and give it a “fresh out of the shower” feeling. It smells like amazing herbal shampoo or the lime&tea shower gel which I would love to have. It has this exotic feeling to it, almost as if there was tiny hint of bamboo. But again, my nose works weird.
Overall, very nice fragrance. The bottle is very pretty and the shade of green is perfect and suits the overall mood of this piece of art. I just love looking at it, it makes me happy.

The dry down is very very similar to Dolce&Gabbanz Light Blue, however eau fraîche is a bit more harsh… I prefer light blue intense which gives me the same fresh vibe and scent but smoother and creamier…
Regarding longevity, it is similar to light blue « original » but weaker than light blue intense…

This is a wonderful classic, expensive smelling green scent all on it’s own. I have just discovered that it also layers wonderfully with Mugler Innocent.

while this particular genre of perfume is not my typical “go-to” i’ve fallen in love with it over and over, by accident (and curiosity) at the chanel counter through the years.
chance eau fraiche walks the line between pretty and masculine incredibly well. it is delicate and beautiful without being a wallflower. i’m a bit of a tomboy so i find myself perpetually surprised at my swooning for this fragrance.
rarely do i come across a perfume that makes me feel ethereal (another exception being bvlgari omnia crystalline), but this chanel offering continues to deliver time and again.
definitely a “safe bet” for most occasions (especially the office, daytime wear, and spring/summer.) with that in mind, i still suggest testing a few times before purchase; the musk and citrus notes *can* pull oddly on some skin types, and the woody notes can occasionally lean too “masculine” for others. lord have mercy if this works with your body chemistry (and i say this as someone that cannot wear d&g light blue) this is not one to be overlooked. universally pleasing and very well received.
this self-proclaimed lover of higher end woody “niche” has to eat her hat on this one. gosh i love chanel chance eau fraiche. i don’t even care how many people are wearing this or if i stand out from the crowd of “mass appeal” perfumes. it makes me feel gorgeous and that alone is enough to justify my seemingly uncharacteristic adoration.
am i buying a full bottle? after 4 years of testing, you better believe it.

Please don’t bring the gender politics to all the Chanel pages! 🙁

In high school, I was obsessed with a Hollister fragrance named August. Legend has it that the scent was created with the idea of feminine perfume and masculine cologne intermingling, like two youthful people making out on a hot summer night 😉
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is that same couple in their 20s. As a floral chypre, this starts out bright and fresh with citrus. The cedar comes shortly after and lasts throughout, ending with a very warm, slightly peppery drydown. This is a fairly uncomplicated fragrance but, as mentioned before, is a great blend of feminine and masculine without isolating one or the other.

Last weekend I sprayed myself with Chance Eau Fraiche while at the mall. I’ve carefully avoided this fragrance for so many years because of the color of the bottle. If it’s green, it must smell like men’s aftershave, right? (That’s been my experience, unfortunately.) Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong! This is fresh but still holds onto its femininity. I wanted to purchase it almost immediately, but I can’t right now. Definitely on my wish list though, this perfume is perfect for summer, or whenever you need a boost. Zesty lemon with yummy cedar and some other things I can’t identify! You must try if you like clean, subtle scents.

  24. :

It smells musky and clean, very sexy. Reminds me of Eclat D’Arpege. However, longevity is almost non-existent, so unlike most of Chanel perfumes. This would have been my favorite out of the Chance series.

This is a very public-friendly scent. Fresh out of the shower, lemony, green and natural. It doesnt club you over the head and drag you around the room. It’s approachable and genuine, like a great friend.

This may sound odd, but I really get a sunscreeny, day at the beach vibe with this scent. I may try it again in warmer weather and see if that makes a difference, but I just get sick of smelling it in the winter.
Edit: I live in a warmer climate now and indeed I do find it more agreeable. Still not really for me though. I was thinking today this may very well work as a lighter men’s fragrance as well.

I have liked Chance eau Vive very much, and this has stood in the closet some time.
Yesterday I decided to spray it for a long time. I knew It’s nice scent but I have so many others there. I noticed that this was actually very nice, very Chanel-like; I’ve also noticed that Chanel might be my favourite house. I was thinking it’s Guerlain, but Chanel has so many nice scents that I like.
This smells like yummy candy {no cloyingly sweet} but it also has sourness which I really like, and some woodiness. Also not vanilla which I often dislike.
Like said this is very Chanelish. People compare it to Versense, but the two are totally different. Versense has fig and cardamom, Chanel doesn’t. Versense is much greener and fresher, Chance eau Fraiche has much patchouli. Both are beautiful.
After initial spray they might seem reminiscent, but that changes very soon.
This is beautiful and very easy, sweet and sour, not too loud, very elegant just like Chanels are.
Most of all I love 31 Rue Cambon, and I so much would love to have a big bottle of it, but while waiting for that, I might wear this.

I love this frag. Great unisex perfume. I need a larger bottle. So fresh, so citrusy, so woodsy. Classic! The performance is dynamite too. Made for a woman but strong enough for a man.

For a person who doesn’t like citrus, this perfume was a real surprise. Chanel is always a good choice 😉 I feel wonderful fresh lemon and greenery that make me feel happy and filled with positive emotions during the summer. The perfume is relatively durable and very fond of women. All the perfumes from this Chanel line are great, I haven’t just tried eau Vive.

It’s a very nice fragrance, but I would not spend a Chanel price for this type of scent. I am not talking badly about it. I sampled it a few times now and find that it smells very similar to Adidas Moves for Her but with more grapefruit and obviously a bit more complex. This is pretty sweet to my nose as well, but not candied. I can see this being perfect for a hot summer’s day or to go to the gym wearing. It’s refreshing and crisp and I do really love scents like this. However, I do prefer Adidas Moves for Her to fulfill the function that this would. Very fresh, green scent. Also works well in the cold as I discovered.

I absolutely love this perfume along with Tendre. But anyone else thinks the dry down has the similar vibes as to CK2? CK2 is more Unisex though. Im not perfume expert, it just reminds me so much of CK2.

Since citrus scents are my favorite I’ve been spending years trying to find THE citrus scent — and I think I’ve found it with Chance Eau Fraiche! This is just a perfect blend of lemon and woods that still smells fresh but also has a lot of depth. I also like that it does not add sweetness to prevent it from being too sharp, because too many citrus fragrances do that. Instead, it balances out the sour notes with mossy, musky wood and some subtle florals. Chance Eau Fraiche is effortlessly elegant, incredibly well-balanced, and very long-lasting on my skin. For sure number one on my buy list!

    A Chanel for me!
I’m not terribly lucky with Chanel fragrances – bummer for me. However, when I spotted huge, 150 ml bottle of Chance Eau Fraiche on the shelf at Costco for a mere 50 bucks, I bought it. It wasn’t exactly a blind buy, but I wasn’t in love with the scent in the past. However, I own, and enjoy, Untold Eau Fraiche and decided to give the Chanel a whirl.
Chance Eau Fraiche is quite lovely and very much a fresh, daytime fragrance. It’s certainly woody, but refreshing and light. It’s also decidedly unsweet which makes it very daywear/office appropriate.

This is my signature scent. It is just right but I do not recommend it for dates or nights out. It is just not sexy, but it it is wonderful..

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I can’t believe how much I love this! It’s never really been on my radar, but my boyfriend saw someone selling an 85% full 50ml for a mere ten bucks on our local FB swap page so he snapped it up for me figuring if I didn’t like it, I could swap it on here. He’s a smart man! I do love it, though… the fresh greenness of the opening is generally not my thing, but the lovely woodiness sucks me in, and then of course that voluptuous Chance musk in the base is to-die-for. A wonderful warm weather scent for sure!

  37. :

This was too green for me. Went a bit sharp on the top notes which always puts me off. Good dry down but not worth hanging in for it.

  38. :

May be considered unisex . It’s all citrus, but right up my alley since citrus is my favorite note. You’ll smell fresh and lovely. Dry-down features the wood/citrus combo with citrus standing out. Amazing perfume! LOOOOVE

This is most expensive perfume I’ve ever bought for myself and smells really good.
But I don’t understand one thing. I’ve never got one compliment on it. So definitelly my first and last bottle of this juice 🙂

  40. :

    3 out of 5

I actually quite like this one. On my skin Chance Eau fraiche is not lemonish at all. I can feel the lemon of course, but it’s more clean freshness than juicy lemon. What I get the most from this fume is delicate flowers (water hyacint) mixed with pink pepper for sparkling edge. Cedar is definitely there but not a masculine type of cedar, very gentle and polite. Base is clean musk and light wood, plus something slightly powdery.
Perfect summer fragrance, both for office and day out with friends. Fresh, joyfull and stylish. Young but not girly. A winner. Best Chance for me.

Chance eau fraiche should be a like for me since I love green woody fragrances but it never got me excited. Lemon, cedar and musk sums up this fragrance for me. Nothing exciting

Not worth its price. Very weak. Unisex, not sweet at all and gives me headache. I gave it to my husband and he said it smelled like Aqua di Gio but much lighter. It does not remind me of Versense, as Versense it more feminine, sweet and lasts much longer.

Awhile back I asked my older, more sophisticated sister what fragrance she wore. She said she mixes Allure and Chance, without specifying one. I went to Dillard’s, grabbed one of the 4 testers, sprayed myself generously and left. I fell in love with the scent. It was lemony and sporty and fresh and kind of reminded me of a shower, soap and shaving foam, the old-school white foamy kind. I hung my cardigan that evening and opened my closet later and got a blast of a cool clean peppery smell. I went back to Dillard’s and told a sales associate I used one of the Chance fragrances but wasn’t sure which one. When I said ‘peppery’ she immediately assumed I had tried Eau Tendre. I bought it and liked it ok but I knew it wasn’t the right one. Today I finally went back and bought the correct one. Eau Fraiche, what a perfect, well-rounded scent. It’s lemony but not chemically, it’s fresh but not too earthy, it’s soapy but not nauseating, and it’s sporty but not in a ‘Polo Sport’ cheap overbearing way. It’s one of the few scents that I have no complaints about. A miracle, actually. I usually always find a note that sticks out that I don’t like, or I find a scent that smells like another scent or another person, this one is just so perfect. It smells like Easter Day. I really do imagine a light green color, with pastel eggs, a fresh cool grassy morning breeze, and a lemon pie for lunch. Something like that. And I can’t wait to try during the tiny cold season we have here in Texas. This scent is cool, sharp and linear. I think that helps it be appropriate during any season. My new signature, I do believe! What an exciting time in my life 😉

This scent opens up with lemon and cedar wood. It’s very fresh and energetic at first. It could be your boyfriends scent! Jasmin tames it down to a more feminine character. This otherwise sensual, deep flower stays bubbly due to the pink pepper. It’s flirty instead of sexy. The white musk creates a luxury feel and the light patchouli keeps a wink of mystery in the air. I’m in love. This would be a great unisex scent too without the Jasmin. It’s perfect for someone who likes to play around without losing their dignity. This perfume is classy!

If you love men’s colognes and you’d want to wear one but find them a bit too strong, than this is a find!
It’s unisex, rather masculine but gentle enough to be worn by women.
Not sweet, super fresh and cooling like so many sporty male colognes.
I’ve layered this with something lightly sweet and floral and loved the combination!
Very chilly, suitable for the hottest of summer days.

  49. :

This perfume has a very low longevity which is its main drawback. Otherwise the smell is pretty, inoffensive, yet a bit masculine – vetiver gives it its masculine vibe. It s definitely not a typical summery fruity floral. Sillage is low, too. It s a nice gift but nothing groundbreaking. I ve used 3 bottles and think I m done 🙂

  50. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve been wearing this for the last couple of days, and I’d say its definitely a fragrance for women.
There is a freshness in the hit of lemon I get on first spray that’s possibly more unisex, but the drydown on my skin is jasmine and hyacinth and a sweeter, softer, more sherbet-lemon that’s very feminine to me.
I like this a lot. Its summery, fresh and quite playful for a Chanel fragrance. When I came in last night from a humid and sticky day at the office and put it on after my shower, it was just right – uplifting and zesty, then rapidly becoming gentle and floral. Pretty.

You’ll like this if you’re into gender neutral scents. I could see a cool sporty surfer girl wearing this and rocking it. Unfortunately, for me the citrus is too strong to have this in my rotation. The woody notes are there, but it’s just not enough to harness the powerful hit of lemon.
It’s not bad, I’m just not the one to pull it off.

This was a big disappointment to me, I love lemon-based perfumes and hoped for a great love. The scent is nice but I already had a Brazilian perfume Paris 1 that was so very alike it (unbeknownst to me).And Paris 1 lasted for 5/7 hours on me more than Chance Eau Fraiche (3/4 hours) although with a slightly softer sillage (both have moderate to soft sillage), and was very cheap to boot.

I had a 1 time contact with this perfume. Tested it from a friend’s bottle. Did not like it a lot, nice but to fresh for me. I see some peolpe love it. Sure maybe some day i try it again and will have more feelings about this scent. Now it is not something to remember.

This is the longest lasting fraiche in womens perfume that i have experienced. Not for formal occaisions for a woman to wear, imo. I find this to be a great summer or even sport perfume for me.
Sure, i could see a man wearing this. With lemon & vetiver, why not?
I had Versace Versence which would have been a love if it lasted more than 30 minutes on me. Somewhat similar in style but not the same overall. In Versence you can clearly smell bergamot as in a high grade early grey tea. Before the drydown in Versence, after 10 minutes lol, i smell fizzy Sprite soda drink for a short minute. You don’t get any of that carbonated Sprite in Chance Eau Fraiche. More like a flat sprite drink that sat out all day but thats okay we’re not drinking this stuff.
I only like this better than Versence because of the extensive performance for a citrus perfume in this genre marketed for women. Sometimes you just want something simple and refreshing.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

I think it can be worn by a man, it is not too sweet, the flowers are just a background on my skin, lemon/cedar are the main notes. Nothing altogether different from hundreds of men’s perfumes. It is just a marketing strategy, if you like you like and Chance Eau Fraiche on me is very gender neutral. Although on me the logevity and sillage were not that good for an expensive perfume(4/5 hours with 1/2 hours of moderate to soft sillage). I like Bleu better on my skin.

So, reading the comments below I decided to give this beautiful fragrance a try. Boy was I surprise, excellent longevity for a fresh fragrance. One problem, with this, I am a guy. Help. Would this perfume be appropriate to wear for a masculine guy like myself?

  61. :

    5 out of 5

I have tested this perfume a few times trying to convince myself that I like it but I can’t say I do. I don’t like patchouli here, it’s overwhelming and it doesn’t blend well with other notes. This should be a perfect, exciting, fresh spring/summer scent but it isn’t. It lasts only 2-3 hours on me.
I really like Chanel Chance EDT but this one is disappointment. I will enjoy spraying my Elizabeth Arden Untold Eau Fraiche and suprisingly fresh, fruity floral Talbots Eau de Parfum for the next few months.

  62. :

    5 out of 5

A more masculine type of lemony freshness, pleasant though, a patchouli borrowed from Coco Mademoiselle and some cedarwood. Men can easily pull this off; if I smelled this on a man I wouldn’t have thought that it’s a female fragrance. Very aromatic, a more refined Light Blue, but still basic.
If you like Coco Mademoiselle and Light Blue you will love Eau Fraiche

  63. :

I thought this would be a clean, soft, soapy fragrance, but it turns out to be a sugar bomb on my skin. I really wanted to love this, but it did not work out for me. it induced headaches and I ended up selling it.

  64. :

    4 out of 5

I was beautifully surprised: fresh aquatic citrus and woods at first spray, half an hour later it turns completely to a powdery iris-amber-jasmine combo with the finest drydown as a sweet creaminess from the teakwood. Patchouli becomes obvious in the second phase, it is well done. I personally get no masculine side, as vetiver gives a round edge to the whole composition, but it could work unisex.
Unfortunately it only lasted 4 hours on me and the sillage was powerful (like 1m) only for an hour, then became a skin scent which I hardly can or think to smell. My husband says he can still smell it, I’ve just gotten used to it.
Very elegant fragrance for spring and summer, autumn too.

  65. :

    4 out of 5

This can safely be worn by a man as well. I mean it is just less feminine than Eau de Cartier or Paco and they are listed as unisex.
    Green, green, sharp and sharper.
At some moment I get a vibe from Coty’s Chanson d’eau.
If you like these types of perfumes, good news is it lasts quite a lot for a fresh one. I can still smell it clearly on my wrist watch leather stripe after 24h.
Will give it another try during a hot summer day, maybe we can click 🙂

Honestly I have enough reasons not to like chanel eau fraiche; I’m not generally a Chanel girl, I received it from somebody I don’t count as a friend anymore and the first day I wore this one, I was about to miss my train for a trip to Amsterdam. So, Chance brings definitely bad luck to me(ok, call me superstitious or whatever). Having all of these said, if I liked eau fraiche, I would not give a damn about these facts and wear it no matter what.
I’m a fan of fresh perfumes; Wood, Citrus and patchouli are all my favorites when combined in a Feminine way. However here there is no trace of femininity. I can’t call it masculine or even unisex, but I always correspond femininity with the delicate aroma of sweetness and floral notes that this one lacks.
It starts with a kind of aggressive citrus, spicy, earthy notes. It is definitely one of the strongest fresh green perfumes I’v ever smelt. It has some signatures of other chanel fragrances like chance series or even coco modemoiselle. for me, seeing it as a fellow flanker is a neutral fact, as I don’t care much about any of them.
Chance gets a bit milder as the floral notes appear. I don’t get any white flower but pepper and hyacinth are very quiet touchable. I think the best part is the dry down when iris and vetiver appear. At this stage, it’s an exact unisex perfume which doesn’t bother me, as at last I have no doubt if it’s feminine or masculine.
I see this perfume is very popular and I see so many reasons out there: being Chanel, the illusion of bringing chance to the classy lady who wears it and being (to some extent) inoffensive. Unfortunately none of the aboved reasons made me adore it. so I may give it as a gift to my sister who likes it.

This perfume starts with masculine vibe of lemon and cedar, both notes are very prominent in early stage. I noticed an aquatic notes from water hyacinth as well, a right amount of saltiness. After a few minutes the masculine vibes tone down a bit into sweet powdery where probably comes from Iris, Musk and patchouli which recreates a classical Chanel like scent.
I kinda hope that eau fraiche could be greener and refreshing rather than having classic sweet twist after 15 minutes of citrusy top notes. It’s hard to dislike as this perfume developed well, but if you want to smell expensive, elegant yet still has a refreshing touch, this could be an option.
Sillage is powerful after first spray, and turn into arm length after 1 hour.
Longevity is quite short, it last 4 hours on my warm skin who live in tropical country.
Is it worth for money? well, personally I will invest on Un Jardin or Merveilles series rather on Chance 🙂

Oh wow this one arrived in the post on Monday and has put a smile on my face big time! It smells like spring in a bottle, so fresh and zingy, The citrus blast makes it mouth watering, it is elegant and I believe it would give you a bright bubbly boost when wearing it.
I know it’s described as a day time scent but I’ll definitely be wearing this day or night, I’m so glad to have it in my collection and I don’t think it will ever leave as long as Chanel keep selling it.

Elegant, lemon & water hyacinth, musky scent, office safe, quite fresh, rather for spring and fall.

    Next buy. I love it.
Important update: I was living in Brazil when I fell in love with it, it was like an addiction. Then I moved to NY and finally bought it and theeeeeennnn…This is weird but it smells completely different, maybe is the weather, I bought it in winter, maybe they don’t sell the same juice there and here, I don’t know…It is just too different to be true. In the NY winter it smells much more powdery, frankly it was better back in Brazil. Next time I go there i will bring the perfume with me and use it there and then I will find the right answer.
Summer arrived in the USA and I tried it in hot weather. There is something in this scent thatbothers me. I no longer have it, but kept the Chance original, which was not my first choice.

In the same vein as Light Blue but more nuanced and feminine. Very refreshing and mood boosting. Today is sunny and mild and almost spring like. This scent is perfect and uplifting. Good silage and longevity you can feel the Chanel quality. It may not be a groundbreaking scent but if you want to add a high quality modern classic expensive smelling green to your wardrobe I recommend this highly.

High-end fragrances are typically so well blended it’s difficult to distinguish the separate notes, and this is true, in my opinion, for Chanel especially, who can blend many notes into an entirely new and singular aroma, translating into a “feeling” rather than any identifiable mix of ingredients. To me, Chance Eau Fraiche simply feels like a fresh woods or garden, or how my kitchen smells when I’m making lemon curd in the spring or summer with scents from the trees and garden wafting in through the back screen door. I actually feel more comfortable wearing this scent than I do wearing my “signature” fragrance, Balenciaga L’Essence. I think L’Essence is more sophisticated and complex, and it’s how I want others to see me; but Eau Fraiche is how I see myself . . . barefoot, in jeans and a tee, communing with nature, happy and content.
