Carolina Herrera is a bombastic tuberose in that over the top style so prevalent in the 1980s. Lots of civet backing up that tuberose and another accord (maybe the apricot or ylang?) that creates a honeyed, almost beeswax thread from beginning to end.
Now it’s a funny thing about scents and memory. This came out when I was a little girl and was quite popular. Upon smelling Carolina Herrera as an adult, I was struck with a very specific memory of hanging out in the hair salon my uncle owned. I’m sure that one of the hairstylists working for him must have worn plenty of this. Without any comment, I let my brother smell it and asked him “What does this make you think of?” His immediate response was “One of the girls working at the shop when we were kids” So that confirmed it for me, us both having the same association.
This is so 1980s for me, it almost feels too costumey now to wear. A scent for a sultry lady. Wallflowers need not apply!

I got this perfume yesterday and am absolutely loving it! It reminds me of another favourite, Givenchy Amarige, with its intense notes of tuberose and ylang ylang, but I find it a little less overpowering and more wearable during the day. Very feminine and classy. I will try the EDT next.

Oye yo oye! This perfume is almost an accord to me, very harmonious, floral and sweet as well as full-bodied in every way. I must say that this fragrance has a raunchy animalic note, the “civet?” which reflects an intention to spend a night out, possibly dancing on someone that you want to leave your scent on, at least that is what my sister said when we sniffed it tonight.
Its beautiful but I don’t think its for day! I really do like it, now this is what perfume is about – not those tutti-frutti dolly fragrances that some of these so-called singers are churning out with no sillage or longevity. It is very feminine and lovely. I may be wrong but I won’t like to smell this on a young girl, or even a very young woman. This is really nice, reminds me of one of those lemony fragrances from Soprani

Opens with a Juicy Fruit gum smell, probably from the ylang-ylang. Then presents a green tuberose, very vegetal. The green notes clarify the tuberose so that it is fresh and vital, not suffocating. Drydown reminds me a little of pre-reformulation Oscar de la Renta from the eighties, just the slightest bit powdery. This is absolutely beautiful, one of my favorites. The green tangy notes in it make it different from other loud tuberoses. It is definitely in the Sonic Boom Tuberose category, in case that was not clear from previous reviews.
Not everyone will like this. Even people who normally like perfume may think it’s too strong. I wear it when I will be by myself because I work with millennials who are afraid of gluten, GMO-food, tap water, missing out, spiders, crosses, you name it. And especially perfumes. Any smell is a threat. The smell of rain on a hot sidewalk in summer scares them. So I would never wear this to work because I don’t want to further alienate people who already consider me weird for speaking in complete sentences and wearing dresses. But in my down time, YES.
Not bashing millennials (many of my dearest relatives fall into that category). But why be so phobic about “chemicals” from perfumes, yet color yourselves with tattoos like a paint by number? Are you using organic fair trade all natural tattoo ink? Well, that’s probably a real thing on second thought.
I like to spray CH on at night in the summer and go outside. Tuberoses release their scent at night in the real world, and this perfume blooms in the heat and humidity.

As Giorgio Beverly Hills created its first and iconic fragance and and crash it triumphantly, and then the others were less obvious, some generic and one franchise after another, Carolina Herrera ran the same fate …. achieved an iconic perfume, similar to none, unique, powerful, a mix almost indecipherable but really intoxicating, intoxicating. The best of C.H.

Ok, I wore this a lot when it came out. I loved it to bits. Fast forward to now. Hubby gave me a bottle for our anniversary. I hear its been reformulated, but the one I got smells just like I remember it. Potential, gorgeous tuberose. Could it be I lucked out and my darling got me an original?!?!
I have no idea where he got it, but its exactly like the old one. Yay! Thank you, honey!

I really like this fragrance. I have a rollerball from Sephora from the last 10 years or so, so I know it’s reformulated. I applied more than one touch recently as I went to work. I was eating lunch and a man walked in and said “What is that smell?”—and it was because he was overwhelmed. 🙁 Several years ago, I doused myself in it for a doctor’s appointment. Oh, how I feel sorry for that doctor. I’m sure I suffocated him. Now I know that “a little dab will do ya.”

Bought Carolina Herrera when it launched in 1988. I had no luck with perfumes as they all gave me migraines ( ALL but Paloma Picasso) or else they dissapear in the first 15 minutes. It was love at first smell!!! it was so different to Paloma and I feel complete… Every one who knew me gifted me a bottle in every ocassion, I had several bottles, but I needed a change, so I got Carolina, but it was not the same… Now I have fallen in love with Vince Camuto Amore… I alternate between Vince and Carolina and ocassionally with Paloma and have gotten to my happy place!!! No wait, I have 3 corners but need to find my 4th one… Still looking!!

I was able to find an original formulation EDP that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I bought it for a very good friend who was despairing over the reformulation. I found an adorable mini bottle, unused, with the box and everything and since I had never experienced this one I took a sniff (only from the bottle, I didn’t apply any because…well, it’s not mine.) This smells amazing and I will be looking for a little mini bottle for myself. So floral and beautiful! Lovely!

    Beautiful tuberose, apricot and amber!
The apricot note is so amazing here. I can’t stop enjoying it!!!
Besides, this fragrance seems to me very sexy. Magic power of tuberose, you know…
Red Door is very alike. But I prefer this one because of apricot!
    Beauty!
    p.s. I have vintage.

I used to own this perfume, but it became very difficult to find and I really missed the Tuberose scent in it. I just discovered Gucci Bloom and it reminds me of a toned down version of this one with less powder. Those whole love or like this perfume might also love Gucci Bloom.

Had forgotten how amazing this was! A glorious tuberose that makes me smile when I smell it. Truly feminine and can be elegant as well as classy and fresh. Will appeal to a certain type woman- not necessarily a certain age group!!! BEAUTIFUL!!

Now are we talking the Perfume ! Very good classic smell , One of the very best in all aspects and worth Your money . Best floral for me , makes me missing Mahora , too , another love of perfume . Two Queens !

Formulation of this perfume changed dramatically. What seemed like my dream perfume-everything I dreamed about in a perfume- changed. I first encountered this perfume in the pages of Vogue in 1988. It was love at first smell. I bought it right away, and thought I would buy it over and over again. What a disappointment. The next bottle was plain old stale jasmines. I wish I kept the original bottle. The perfume was so elegant; beautiful, vibrant and naturally Mediterranean scent.

This is one of my regular evening perfumes since the late 1990s, particularly if I’m wearing a sari. Strangers have come up and asked me its name. In fact, every time I’ve worn it, I’ve had numerous compliments. But, as with all my favourites, it’s getting harder and harder to find. I despair. Are we going to be left with only lavatory-disinfectant smell-alikes when all the truly beautiful scents of yesterday have disappeared?

The past few nights, I wore Jessica McClintock and this to compare. I’ve decided that this is the toned down, mature woman’s white floral. It’s nice and much softer. Definitely less of a sneezer than McClintock.

This is The Perfume. The perfect perfume.
A perfect balance of warm and cold flowers. Rich Fizzy. Innocent and sexy. Feminine with touchs of androgynity because of its green fresh aspect.
    Masterpiece.
It is impossible to place in a specific historical period. I think if you were to do a blind test to someone, taking a joke, “is of the 20s” or “is of the 60s” “2010” “80s” “90s”, he would always say. “Yes sure!”
Reminds me Action by Trussardi, but this is more refined, classy. Also reminds me California Reverie.

Wow ! I really did not know what I was missing with this one 🙁 It’s such a shame that I have ignored Carolina-Herrera’s fragrances for years !!
I unwrapped a blind buy bottle from an Ebay seller tonight and at 1st I got a whiff of what I thought was seriously gone off aldehydes. But I said no, this can’t be right as I could smell the fragrance emanating from this bottle and it was beautiful.
So I used 1 sharp spray to my wrists and boy is this stuff good !! At 1st I thought it was sweet, but ok.
Now 3-4 hours later, I get the apricot , the woody, Honeysuckle and it’s all so beautifully blended.
It is a very feminine fragrance, in the realms of White Linen, Beautiful and such like florals of the 80s and I like it for the days when I need something to pick me up.
    Beautiful..x

One spray. I sprayed just one spray on the back of my neck and I am surrounded by rich, beautiful floral wafts of tuberose and jasmine. That is the trick with this perfume – spray less and you get the full beauty of it.
This is perfume in the true sense of the word – rich, strong and potent. But you have to love florals – particularly jasmine and tuberose to enjoy this. Sometimes, I struggle with tuberose in certain compositions but I never had a problem with that note in this particular fragrance. There is civet in there as well, and I think it completes the sensual quality of this perfume.
My bottle will probably last a long time since I do not wear this perfume very often – but whenever I do, I thoroughly enjoy the experience and never fail to marvel at the quality of Carolina Herrera Carolina Herrera. Interestingly, I always wear it in the summer – it absolutely blooms in the heat.

Its strange to read all these reviews about this perfume as an heavy old lady perfume.I didnt knew that a perfume has a certain age and it should be wear only by women fifty and up. A perfume is a personal choice of every one of us.It doesnt know of any age.Carolina Herrera is a lovely, elegant beautiful perfume!!For every age if you really know how to support it by simply being femminine and elegant! Its so simple. I bought this perfume in Teneriffe . It will always remind me of lovely vacation with my husband. Its the smell of Teneriffe! Lovely days of my life!

Wow, what a fun scent! I picked this up on a whim in the EDT concentration at Marshall’s. I love a good tuberose scent and don’t have a full bottle of one in my collection, so I figured for $25, why not? This does not disappoint. It reminded me very much of Mahora, and upon seeing reviews here, I see I am not alone in that assessment; it’s got all the tenacity and bubbly sexiness without the tropical coconut note. I get loads of tuberose, ylang-ylang, and civet from this bad boy. It’s a soft feminine white floral from a distance, but it gets a bit raunchy up close. However, I’m not a fan of overly indolent fragrances, and a powerhouse like Ysatis smells too much of urine to my nose; this is a nice balance in my mind. Ylang-ylang always reads as “sexy”to me, and this has enough civet to take the blend to the next level, but the tuberose remains the most prominent note. It definitely smells of its time, but I don’t find it unwearable today, just nicely nostalgic. The opening is a bit aggressive, but after an hour or so it mellows out quite nicely.

It is always a pleasure to write about a classic of perfumery, especially when it becomes a timeless with pleasure boasting. The perfume which I write is the Carolina Herrera Carolina Herrera in its EDP version, more powerful, more striking, more pump, more poignant, beefier and more Carolina Herrera than EVER! In 1988 when he was cast by the hands of bottled pumps lover, Carlos Benaim, I even knew what it was to live or that one day find myself with this yellow precious juice and he would have deep admiration. His output is a hit a ton of Orange flowers, with embittered citrus touches and a very firm thwack of Pau-Brazil in the frontal bone piercing for parietal, which is leaving dizzy and injury any living being that feels in your first sprayed. This here seems to evolve EVER! After millions of years it gets to the heart with all the flowers of the planet Earth, and also those that have not been recognized and cataloged all together in a hybrid that is difficult to be recognized right away, but over millions of years gives to feel shy Jacinto, a well-chilled creamy Tuberose, a sharp Ylang Ylang and Jasmine in your indólica stage, I like this stage that few have white flowers, admire it. In his almost “never” farewell, he presents trillion kilograms of dry oak moss sun of noon, vibrant cedar wood with its bitter single being, musk, musk and more Musk, virile Sandalwood pronounced associated with muuuuuuita angry Civeta by giving goatee, sideburns and mustaches at the end of this magnificent perfume. I wondered how it was in the year of its launch, which was used animal Civeta in its composition. It must be the own beast personified Civeta; the Carolina Herrera EDP, today, is Civeta from synthetic variants, there is a big gap there. Perfume fixing the D.N.A. for ages and designs the nearby city is doubtful. C-U-R-D-A-D-O to use a version EDP. You’re welcome!
Word of the Day: stability… (day 22)

Carolina Herrera is a loud party of notes and each part of the fragrance is turned up to maximum volume.
My favorite mountain florals (bright lily-of-the-valley, oily-green hyacinth and sweet narcisse) pair happily with the heady white florals of tuberose (lots of tuberose!), jasmine and neroli. This is a BIG green floral/white floral scent with a delectable tart apricot note and heaps of musk at the base. Carolina Herrera projects so far that people in the next country over can smell it! I took a shower and could still smell the fragrance on my wrists – a first for me!
I like this fragrance in cooler weather because it stays more “bound up” and tart. Warm weather, on the other hand, loosens Carolina Herrera’s corset strings and makes her sink into a borderline fecal, bubble gum, drippy honey musk bomb. It’s bizarre! I’ve never encountered a fragrance so dependent on temperature.
Somehow this fragrance smells delightful to me, but I can see why others find it overwhelming. Pretty fun!

I used to wear this in the 80s. Loved it to pieces. Yes, it’s strong. Yes, it’s heady. Yes, that’s why I love(d) it.

I have the vintage pure perfume mini splash that i finally came around using. Splash bottles make me nervous, especially in pure perfume form, because well you dab or splash them. Anyway i’ve been collecting empty egyptian blown crystal decants just to use the glass stoppers (they are long skinny sticks) to apply my splash fragrances. I love the concept just as much as spraying now.
So lets start with civit. It’s definately noticable from beginning to end and a very strong note it is. I wonder if it is the actual anal gland that is actually in here because of having an actual bottle from the 90’s era. Instead of the synthetic forms out there that mimic civic i actually believe this is the real deal.
Tuberose is loud but not alone. Honeysuckle, orange blossom and jasmine are detectable after the opening along with something sweet to tone down the pungent civet note that becomes most of the drydown, again, with some tuberose and gardenia and just a tad of lotv that freshens it a bit.
I like it. This civit adds quite an eyepopping experience and to me makes it dark. Dark to where i would rather wear on an evening in the fall or winter. Maybe even layer it with an ambery body spray. But never in the summer,it would be to dirty feeling.
I’m compelled to try the edt form one day.

Well, this is one I really must try again. I have a body spray dupe of Carolina, but the original’s uniqueness is impossible to purely capture.
Tuberose, gardenia and other white flowers in their greener form reside on woods, aldehydes ,and amimal. Like Fracas, it appears to be a relatively straight forward floral blend, but there is a depth I do not find in other white scents. It is this depth and subtle charm that makes it classic. Although my nose does think of the 90’s when smelling Carolina’s chemical notes, if it doesn’t sour on you, it only brings to mind the era’s best Quality.
Thank you, Ms. Herrera. As always, you’re taste is womanly and perfect for every event.
    Medium sillage and longevity.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Looking at the notes , this should be a masterpiece.
If it is , then it’s a tricky one , bcs it can be good or awful ,according to one’s chemistry .For me , this perfume is a no no. Would recommend sampling first.
I find their perfumes don’t do any justice to this great couture house.

I guess I could say I’m slightly disappointed with this frag. But only slightly. I blind bought this because it was compared to Versace Jeans Couture and I vaguely remember that smelling a bit like Versace Blonde (one of my faves).
Well, it doesn’t quite smell like that – more creamy than sparkly.
Maybe I’m a tuberose nut but all tuberoses seem to have a bit of a freshness to me. Others say it’s like an oppressive cloud and I can understand that to a point (say, if over sprayed) but for me there’s a clarity/freshness.
Anyway, to me this is leaning more toward your Givenchy Amirage white floral and less like your Versace Blonde.
Not the signature material I was hoping for but still beautiful all the same.

This review is for the vintage black framed lid, black polka dot box.
Its a smooth scent for about 1 minute very rich. Reminded me of Ubar by Amouage. But quickly turns to a reminiscent scent much closer to Estee Lauders Youth Dew.
At first application I thought wow nice. But shortly after the connection to Youth Dew put me off.
Its thick but not cloying. I is a evening scent. Very rich and vintage feel. Nice to try and I bet its beautiful on the right person. Just did not work for me.

Waaaay strong, tooooo strong for me! Tried this once before on release in 1988 and it seemed gentler more floral and very pretty then. Maybe the tester i tried was off or maybe my chemistry because whoa whoa, four time scrubber to get the complete smell off! Mostly animal in a bad way, barely any floral. Too bad because this seems to work for so many others 🙁

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Just received this from a friend who said it was too “flowery”,….and I’m glad I got it!!
A thick, heady, grounded, and intoxicating perfume, that best be worn in cooler weather or else it seems to turn too sweet and cloying in warmer weather, like today.
Comforting and warm floral. Not sugar sweet but “marshmallow-y” sweet….iow, just sweet enough.
Tuberose lovers will absolutely love this one, however, it doesn’t have that ‘pinch’ of civet that occasionally accompanies tuberose, even though it is listed, I don’t detect it.
It is not a mature perfume in the sense that it reminds me of play perfume. I don’t think there’s any alcohol in it at all, and smells that it was made in a water base, but that’s not a bad thing, it smells goooood.
I found adding a little lemon essential oil with it as it seems to thin out the “thick bouquet”.
It reminds me of a super refined Giorgio.
    It’s a keeper.
I can’t wait for Autumn as I may just love this instead of liking it.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

It is indeed a very strong ‘powerhouse’ type of fragrance, but there is something quite special about its formulation that makes is timeless in my opinion.
Note – I am still a newbie of the fragrance world.
On the first spray it is so strong that I cannot smell it,but after a few seconds it dries down to a very warm, rich, comforting smell.
This perfume smells on my skin throughout the day as honey/amber/sandal – that kind of rich and quite heavy smell infused with just a bit of tuberose and white flowers, but not overwhelming at all.
After an hour or so it turns just a bit sour, but on colder days I have noticed that it doesn’t.
Again perfume is something extremely personal and if you enjoy trying out new things you might/or not be pleasantly surprised.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I’m not usually afraid to try new perfumes but this one scared me a little. I read most of the reviews beforehand….that’s what did it. Not the parts that said it was over-the-top strong…..I love that…it was that it was all white flowers & junk. I have not had the best of luck with tuberose & white flower perfumes. I like the idea of them but when they hit my skin they turn stinky….reminding me of my Grandmas freshly cleaned bathroom. Well…this bottle had been staring at me from the top shelf of a Ross perfume shelf for the last few months…never moving..which surprised me a bit. I caved yesterday…which was, again, scary as our Ross has a no-return policy on opened bottles of perfume. My impression upon first spray was…yeah..this is BIG white flowers…and strong! But..something happened after maybe fifteen minutes. The civet came through…& something akin to warm, woody honey settled onto my wrist. The big, scratchy white flower bouquet (that’s what white flowers sometimes smells like to me…scratchy) dissipated and made room for something warmer, richer, rounder. I tried Red Door Aura a while back and the drydown on this reminds me of Aura. For some reason, Aura never clicked for me but there was something honey-like in it that I could love. This also wears on my like a brighter version of Chloe. When wearing scents like these, I have to get myself in a tropical state of mind. If I don’t imagine things like swaying palm trees, endless blue oceans, sun-toasted sands and fragrant, island blooms, I don’t appreciate what I’m smelling. For me, surprisingly, this one works and I’m happy to add it to my collection. It’s elegant yet unassuming.

This is how I imagine Humbert Humbert’s nymphets to smell.
My skin discards the intense floral notes in about 45 minutes and allows this equine beauty to smoulder on for hours. A perfect prize pony, highly recommended for civet lovers.

Another blind buy based on the ingredients. This perfume was launched in 1988, I remember a lot of samples being disributed in the late eighties, glas vials packed in the typical white and gold polkadot card.
In the late eighties I was much younger and my taste in perfume was limited to heavy musks and soft florals. I was not attracted to Carolina Herrera perfume at all, I thought it was a typical elderly lady perfume.
Well, I am on my way of becoming an elderly lady now! I am in my early fifties and my tasted has evolved to rich, bombastic florals.
Compared to Fracas and TOD this is a refined and elegant tuberose, I have the edp so this is probably the more concentrated.
The tuberose blends in very well with the orange blossom, the jasmin and honeysuckle and especially the hiacynth, tuberose may be what you smell at first but when it settles down the tuberose and orange blossom play equal parts. It is a much more wearable perfume, creamier and less loud compared to Fracas and TOD for instance. The longevity on me is about 5 to 6 hours, the dry down consists mainly of orange blossom and jasmin. On me the drydown of this perfume is very similar to Jasmin Full by Montale, one of my favourite fragrances. I am very happy with my purchase, I will surely be wearing this one for work!

    Wow! Bam! Boom!
This is a powerhouse perfume, that’s for sure.
While it’s not for me, I can easily understand its elegance and appreciate it for its unashamed boldness.
It’s a movie star in a sparkled gown on the red carpet, or an opera singer on stage in full dress…80s style.
I’ve seen this compared to Fracas (*cringes*) and I believe that was Carolina’s intention. The heavy tuberose is there, sure, but Carolina Herrera is actually tolerable and doesn’t exercise my gag reflexes, regardless of how overwhelming it is.
    So that’s a plus.

purchased this in the EDP when it first came out. barely used but still smelling good as stored well. it is a real statement fragrance. Loved the midnight jasmine i used to smell on holiday and this reminded me of those warm balmy evenings. Just too heavy for me to wear much of the time. Now prefer more sweeter perfumes like Elie Saab le parfum intense.

OMG, so aggrivated.. Ordered Carolina Herrera “Carolina” and ended up with a big bottle of “Carolina Herrera” well, for those of you that can’t figure it out, they are not the same. The one I thought I ordered was the one with the large gold dots on the package. Back in 2003ish, I purchased from TJMaxx, what a delight!!! could never find it again. Was so excited to find it online, purchased and was sent the wrong scent. Called, sent back, supposedly situation was rectified. They sent back the same bottle. ugh, stinky. Too heady/tuberose… headache in a bottle.. almost reminds me of White Diamonds or something? hmmm not happy. 🙁

Wow. 80s/90s powerhouse. Sillage and projection are impressive! (sillage monster haha)VERY strong, beware. Less is more.
I wouldn’t describe it as ‘sex in a bottle’ (or at least that’s not my idea of it…) but I picture a classy, elegant mature woman wearing it. To office, in a suit, or maybe on a winter’s evening.
To me it had that ‘mothballs’ feeling… (not too much though)I like florals as long as they are not sharp/bitter and this is (unfortunately)

If you are looking for something as expressive but not as aldehydic as Chanel 5, this might be an option. Perfect for official and business occasions, but still very feminine and elegant. If not overdosed, it will not overwhelm you, despite its undoubtedly strong character and huge dose of jasmine.

Carolina Herrera perfume to me is a legendary, refined classic, eternal scent. It is so unique and beautiful, full of grace and charm. An ethereal combination of jasmine, tuberose with a animalic white flowers-civet drydown. An amazing all time classic. It has nothing to envy from niche scents. It is such a well made big bouquet of white flowers that makes the wearer feel sophisticated and graceful . I have the EDT version and I will definitely try the EDP version when I get the chance. Refinement and sophistication in a bottle. Very good lasting power,it always lives a trail.

It’s the best scent for me so far….., but kind of difficult to find it in stores (where I live) nowadays …

I love Amarige so I was excited to try this one. However, they are different in character, and I think civet is to blame. In this one, civet is the prominent note (on me at least). Tuberose comes in second. I like civet, but man, this is civet city. The fragrance is also quite green. I will wear this, but only on very cold days, to tame that civet.

This is the BEST perfume that I have EVER purchased and worn. It has been hard to find one that has the same high standard. It is light, but long lasting and I used to get tons of compliments. It fills a room, but not in a “I need to sneeze, yuk” kind of way. I highly recommend it.

Very strong and pretty floral (at first) with great lasting power particularly on fabric…on skin it truly depends on chemistry as it really didn’t last great on me but did last well on my partner in crime (well perfume testing). Notes of honeysuckle, tuberose, ylang-ylang, bergamot, hit me hard while green notes and the civet took over the dance before the night was through. I’m not overly fond of civet so I retired my bottle. Not everyone’s taste but very interesting and could be very lovely on the right lady. Angelina Jolie’s signature for years, maybe that speaks for the scent? Strong, noticeable, obviously very pretty, and ultimately nauseating in overexposure.
Best in small amounts, a Spring scent. Very affordable. Too ” animalistic rolled around in flowers” for me…but I’m willing to try again!

Carolina Herrera is a rich, green tuberose fragrance. It is significantly better than Carolina Herrera’s Chic which also featured a tuberose accord, done badly I’m afraid. Carolina Herrera smells much more classy.
This fragrance is generally well-received. Many of my perfumista friends were impressed by it and have been known to wear it quite often. As someone who enjoys white florals I was eager to test Carolina Herrera, so when I realised that it wasn’t sold on Australian shores, I ordered a sample.
As a tuberose fragrance, Carolina Herrera is deliciously buttery and rich. It has a somewhat classic feel, very feminine but also quite powerful. Although similar in style to Robert Piguet’s Fracas, I would say that Carolina Herrera smells more green and fresh.
One may immediately assume that Carolina Herrera is best worn during Spring and Summer, however I would also recommend it for Autumn and Winter. The buttery floral notes really shine under the cold weather conditions.
My review is based on a vial of the EDP concentration. Carolina Herrera is also available in an EDT. I personally prefer a strong dose of tuberose, so the EDP does me fine. The sillage is quite strong, and lasting power superb. I highly recommend.

When I wear this perfume, I put it on low and let the scent waft up as the day gets hotter and hotter. That way I don’t knock anybody out when I walk into a room, including myself. I’m a southern girl and I remember honeysuckle growing wild along dusty dirt roads and rolling hills with watermelons growing on them and cold Santa Fe orange sodas in sweaty glass bottles. This perfume takes me back to those steamy Alabama summers spent at Big Mama’s house. That was forever ago, but when I wear this perfume, I’m back on Big Mama’s porch.

People who lived large and loud in the 1980s will tell you that the bigness of the era was a reflection of exuberance and the sense of endless potential. It wasn’t. It was mostly just un-nuanced and noisy.
Enter Carolina Herrera, the perfume, not the person. It’s a child’s stick-drawing of a tuberose blown up to billboard size, shaken with a shot of over-concentrated artificially sweetened grape kool-aid. Both monstrous and shrill, it was overconfident where it should have been self-conscious. Classically 80s in style, Carolina Herrera reminds me how tedious and draining those conversations with people on blow were.
