Sweet coconut, some creamy sun tan lotion vibe and citrus is what I get from this fragrance. Absolutely gorgeous, summer in a bottle. Super easy to wear, I would say day or night appropriate for summer – perfect to wear to the beach but also suitable for dinners out in the evening. My favourite Estee Lauder frag.

Got a bottle when it first came out. It is, on me, almost a gourmand. I get a strong coconut, vanilla, and citrus hit right when I first spray, but after about an hour, it develops a richness. I’m assuming that would be the vetiver, amber, etc. It stays and stays, but begins to hug my body later in the day, rather than floating around scenting the air.

I get orange blossom and a hint of coconut; there is a woody, slightly darker note that accompanies it – not sure what that is. Great for day.

As a tropical perfume lover, this is my cup of tea. This is a beautiful white floral and coconut scented body lotion type of smell or sun block/sun tan lotion, after you’ve applied it and you catch whiffs of it on your skin as you take in the sun at the beach or at the pool – in Hawaii or Tahiti. This is a tropical island summer vacation getaway scent. I wear this on Caribbean cruises. The aroma is to die for. The first notes to reach my nose are citrus fruit with sweet mandarin orange and neroli. Then there’s the white flowers of magnolia, jasmine and tiare or plumeria, my favorite tropical island flower. The coconut is always present and in fact this smells like sweet coconut water. The amber and vanilla mix and mingle, something warmer and a bit smokier that really does evoke bronze or tan skin, and I’m guessing that’s the myrrh. This is really easy to wear and true to it’s name a skin scent. It’s for your skin, to scent your skin whether you’re skin is white, fair and doesn’t tan too well, or you’re lucky and you have actual bronze or darker skin. This just puts me in that mood to put on sun block and hang out at the pool waiting for my Mr. Right in boxers. I wear it with a sun hat, sunglasses and a bikini. If ever there was a perfume to wear with a bikini, this is it. Sexy, seductive, exotic, tropical. If you like all the scents in it: coconut, citrus, white flowers of tiare and jasmine along with amber and myrrh, not to mention sweet vanilla, this is going to be a delicious meal for you. I adore it.

Since the day I bought this fragrance in the year 2011, it became my all year around identification. I can’t imagine not to be surrounded by these beautiful ingredients and rarely I have the pleasure to find a scent that makes me feel this way. Therefore I don’t wear it only during the summertime, and have at least two unopened bottles lying around just in case they discontinue it, God forbid.

Hot sun, warm sand under your feet. That’s Bronze Goddess.
Stunning fragrance. When I first smelled it there was an instant love affair. Finally a fragrance that is unique and different. It’s got a Niche type quality to it. This is a lite scent not heavy nor does it wear you. I just imagine spraying it on hot skin that’s been out in the sun. Very summery, very comfortable and well done. This is one of those types for me when I smell it in cold weather it feels out of place. Today it’s rainy and I sprayed it on. I feel like it should be used on sunny days. And for me I must be in a mood for this one. So I don’t see it being signature worthy on a daily basis however it’s a stunner.

Light scent that refers to the comfort of a late summer where the searing heat parting giving way to a ventilated autumn abruptly changed the ambient temperature. In its simplicity it can convey a “prolonged feeling” very close to the skin perfuming as well as the satisfaction of an aura created around the wearer. Bronze Goddess […] opens and exotic, with a mixture of coconut milk with citrus juice, where it dominates the first with natural aspects of fruit, tendenciado an oily and comforting aroma. Then it evolves into a phase where predominantly white flowers, getting through Indol, I confess, but the creaminess of coconut persists at this stage and with a fresh lavender skirt the feeling through fetid initially noticeable imprinted on it at this stage. Finally, its linearity by the skin becomes larger, revealing a summer scent of resin due to the appearance of the sweetness of a very subtle Tonka, one sweetened by vanilla edible gourmand, dry traces of vetiver roots amber colored evenly and with the persistent note coconut, causing warmth, encouragement and quiet throughout the perfuming period. For those who enjoy the “vibe” of creamy floral with pinches of summer, this is an excellent choice because it is beyond the characteristic aroma of the very common tanning to perfumes that fit this olfactory line. Not design almost anything nor fix longevamente, however, the aroma of the differential for the final proposal worth the effort to know it, and why not, get it ?!
Word of the day: quiet… (day 39)

It was my wedding parfume. I got married in summer so it suited very wel. I did have a other version but it was a lot coconut , excotic flowers and a bit freshness. A close to the skin scent , so not overwelming at all (in my case) Now that I see this picture and notes again…I defenitely want to buy it again ! 9/10 score

Smells like laksa because of the coconut. Quite warm, seductive and lasts long because of its oil form. Good sillage too.

Extremely fresh and sexy scent. I purchased the 3.4 oz Body oil spray to wear on those sultry summer nights. I absolutely love this scent. Reconnecting with it has encouraged me to head out to my Estee Lauder counter to see if there is anything new in this line!

Really sexy, fresh, sensual, beachy, clean, ultra feminine scent. Heady. I said sexy first, because it really is sexy, but it ultimately transcends sexy and just straight up evokes THE MOST RELAXED PERFECT SUMMER DAY. Gentle waves at the beach, sipping lemonade, hawaii… The scent of tropical flowers in bloom all over the place. you get the picture. Its all been said before.
But, suffice it to say, I LOVE THIS PIECE OF HEAVEN!!
To me, this opens with wildly fresh, true, lemonade. Very bright, tart citrus! And that will be the most intensity you will get from Bronze Goddess. The lemonade fades very quickly into the back ground.
After that you get soft tiare flower, and jasmine, then coconut… and then sandalwood.
The sandalwood here is really perfectly rendered… And reminds me of a cedar chest a little, but its really good.
Then its soft warm breezes of salty air.
    Absolutely gorgeous.
Its been warm here in SF lately… we are having a little prequel to summer. I am having so much fun spritzing this on myself right before I walk out the door to do my errands, shopping, taking the puppy for a stroll. Wearing body shop coconut body butter, and a summer dress, and Bronze Goddess. Boyfriend goes nuts!
I do get sad that this is a skinscent, but then again, its hard to imagine how it would come off if it were more concentrated than it is. And it is fun to re-fresh this baby. Instant relaxation.
As it is with most perfumes, I find that if I put this in my hair or on my clothes it lasts a whole lot longer.

Just received this today, and oh what a pretty fragrance it is. It’s summer on the beach in a bottle, and I will love every drop of this stuff.

This is Tropical Summer Heaven in a bottle. Bronze Goddess is an awesome fragrance.
This is a beautiful blend of coconut and white florals (as those are the dominant notes in this fragrance). There’s also a creamy quality to this fragrance, for which I give credit to the vanilla and amber notes, but it’s never sugary or heavy. The citrus notes keep this fragrance lighter and fresher than you’d expect as well.
If you are a fan of coconut, but want a more mature take on it, then I enthusiastically recommend Bronze Goddess. While it smells tropical, beachy, and nutty, it stays grounded, classy, and mature. If you’re looking for a tropical scent that smells like a piña colada, then this may disappoint you. The coconut in Bronze Goddess smells nutty, woody, and smooth; not sweet or candy-like.
Lots of people say this smells like a very luxurious suntan lotion, and I’d have to agree with them. This is definitely a “skin scent,” meaning that the fragrance smells effortlessly pretty and natural (in my opinion). In my experience, the scent doesn’t have the strongest sillage, but I think that’s a good thing. This is one of those fragrances that people notice when they are within a closer distance to you, which is perfect in my opinion.
I also find Bronze Goddess to be an excellent mixing perfume. I’ve tried several fragrance combinations with Bronze Goddess, and most of them have turned out amazingly well. For instance, if you want the perfume to be sweeter, then you can easily incorporate a sweet vanilla-based fragrance with this, and it’ll work amazingly well. It also goes well with fruity scents!

If a fragrance could ever be described as creamy, Bronze Goddess would be the one. This is a wonderfully close to the skin creamy coconut and tropical floral fragrance. I love it because it is not brash, or a literal suntan lotion smell. Bronze Goddess is more of a dreamy, tropical oasis than a tacky crowded resort. Of course this is a great summer choice but I would wear it any time of the year. My only criticism is that it does not last too long on the skin and needs to be reapplied generously. I just purchased a 2013 version which has a little less of sandalwood kick than the original. I also prefer the original bottle with the golden bullseye.

I only ever had one bottle of this, but it was heaven!
What does it smell like? – think warm sunny days, smooth vanilla and coconut, suntan lotion and sand….. Its perfect for holidays on the beach.
I’m not sure I would wear this anywhere else except on vacation, its not really sophisticated enough for evening.
It reminds me a little bit of CB I Hate Perfumes “At The Beach 1966” (see my other reviews)

Today I did something I rarely do. – I bought something on the spot. Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche was sitting on a discount table (50% off !) and I sprayed it on my arm. Oh joy!
It’s is like taking an instant holiday to the sun. Sure, it has a suntan lotion vibe, but that’s the point isn’t it?
Coconut has been done to death and I’m sure we’ve all experienced one of the many coconut perfumes or lotions that are none too subtle. Whilst the coconut in BG eau Fraiche is prominent it is softened considerably by the tiare and vanilla. In fact on me it has a very creamy quality to it that makes me want to inhale deeply and relax in the sun. Although the pyramid does not indicate this, I also detect a slight saltiness reminiscent of sun warmed skin. Perhaps this is where imagery steps in and completes the olfactory journey to my sunny beach. This little beauty will be staying close to me all summer.
Sometimes it feels really good to impulse buy!

Perfect for a tropical Summer 🙂

Oh goodness. I think I’m in love.
Making this scent into an oil was an amazing idea, I feel that it sticks to the scent and last for a very long time (I think it’s better than having the actually perfume if you consider lasting power).
My skin is on the dry side… I actually ordered this thinking it was solely perfume! But I think of this still as part of my perfume collection. This reminds me of the sunset at the Boardwalk. It also makes me reminisce watching the sun come down, on the beach with my friends the last day of my senior year in Hawaii. This makes me feel like I’m home again.
Very milky, very unique and cozy. I think this is the most unique blend of coconut I’ve encountered, is there coconut? I don’t think there is anyone here that has described the notes of this scent without having a hard time pin pointing most of them. It smells more so like a moment than perfume. When I heard people describe this I didn’t think I would literally smell the sand on the beach as the beach welcomes dusk.
This is a scent/oil I would buy over and over and over again.

My choices in Estee Lauder are “Knowing”, “White Linen Light Breeze” and “Bronze Goddes”.Magnolia and vetiver are effective in “Bronze Goddes” so I adore it.

Two years ago my bottle of Bronze Goddess smelled like fruits (apricots) and flowers (labelled as gardenia). The juice has mellowed, today it’s more coconutty and musky, but still good.
I do disagree in the part of this being a light scent. I find it quite full, and even too much for summer, but as always, that’s a matter of opinion.
    A nice scent anyways.
Someone mentioned JLo Miami Glow. I once called this “Miami Glow for grown ups.”

Great for the summertime. Fresh and different…it makes you daydream that you are in the beach, in the golden sand, far away from problems and duties…It is a scent that takes you far away and I think this is very important. According to my opinion, coconut and vanilla are the main notes in this one. Tropical, light and exotic, is all you need for a carefree summer !

    Not bying it anymore.
The best is the body oil scent

Everybody was talking about the delicious coconut inside. But where is it?? Where? Am I the only one who can´t smell it? When I ordered it blind in 2008 I had soo many expectations of this perfume and was soon disappointed. There is no coconut for my nose. Only an unpleasant old smell, like an expired sunlotion. Only the Bronze Goddess body oil keeps it promise: pure summer.

I sprayed myself with this today at a boutique and cannot stop smelling my wrists! It takes me straight back to my teenage years, sitting on the beach, lathering on Hawaiian Tropic oil and Bain de Soleil, with “Sun in” sprayed in my hair. There is a definite coconut, beachy, sandy smell to this, and I absolutely adore it.
This is exactly what your skin would smell like, after spending an entire day at the beach, and than having drinks on an outdoor patio somewhere with the wind in your hair. It is a very light “lived in” scent, that is personal, and stays close to the skin.
I highly recommend it for the summer.

I have to try this bottle because I can’t find auzree soleil anymore, since 2007 summer, but this is the closest scent to azuree.

  31. :

I adore this scent! Reminds me of 70’s smelling sunscreen (whatever that is)! I only wish that it was made as an eau de parfum. As a “skinscent”, it does not last very long. The oil gives a beautiful sheen to the skin. A wonderful summer scent, and a good way to get a winter pick-me-up.

  32. :

i love Bronze Goddess! Such an amazing scent! Very unique. It suits my skin very well, so i always get a lot of compliments. When the spring is about to come i start wearing it again… il primo sole e mio!

  33. :

    3 out of 5

This is a great beachy scent but a little too strong on the “tropical”. It mixes well with some fragrances (especially Paris Hilton) for a fresh combination. I received many compliments when I mixed the two.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This is a sun lotion kind of scent. Reminded me of G by Harajuku Lovers, just lighter and more sophisticated. When it settles down it smells almost exactly like Coconut body butter by Body shop. Personally, I would not like to wear this kind of perfume, as it smells too much like lotion to me (would rather use the body butter). But if you love tropical scents its a must try.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I tried this on my wrist, and I was sniffing it for like two hours, but there was something that just didn’t fit me. Could be an ‘okay’ fragrance if I smelled it on somebody else, but I wouldn’t wear it. I think it’s because I actually love all the notes in this, except the lavender (which I mostly don’t like at all). So maybe thát’s te mess-up I smell which makes it less appealing to me.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I have onyl tested this one on a test blotter – and it is indeed a very unique scent.
I didn’t get any flowers nor any coconut, but I did get some aromatic notes (I see dill mentioned in earlier reviews), and a metallic note.
All in all, it smelled like a tin can of gherkins! And I mean it in a good way 🙂
It seems to be a sophisticated, light, well-weaved fragrance which, as might be seen from the mixed reviews, surely can’t leave anyone indifferent.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I smell lots of tiare flower at first, then maybe a slight hint of coconut. I don’t think I smell the suntan lotion scent that others have mentioned, but I do like it and it is very summery and fun. Great for casual days when the weather is beautiful and the temperature is warm!

  38. :

Very unusuall scent like burnt skin or burnt plastic- don’ know, salty in some way….
    Maybe it’s my chemistry…I don’t like it.

I love this perfume and I am so unhappy.
My husband said it smelled like his hampster cage – cedar shavings.
    I had no idea…

  40. :

    4 out of 5

Huh? Starting to wonder whether I’m pregnant as my sense of smell seem to be totally warped? LOL. All I can smell is the neroli and vetiver which in my book makes it more of a oriental fragrance? Did I mention that oriental is not my thing AT ALL? No suntan lotion, no coconut and I don’t know where some of you spend your holidays but I don’t want to go there if this is what it smells like 🙂 (and I don’t mean that as in insult and not trying to be rude honestly). Each to their own I guess.

  41. :

I sampled this one at the mall. It is nice, but since I have Miami Glow by Jlo which smells similar like suntan lotion I want to finish that first.

Summer in a bottle. The perfect tropical juicy coconut scent and works well for both day and night. This fragrance literally screams summer and beaches, can’t see it working as well in colder months or climates. The lasting power is nothing special but sillage is good – you always get compliments. Because of it’s uniqueness I’d think this would work with most peoples body chemistry. One of Lauder’s best and like nothing else on the market. Super duper delicious and highly recommended.

I finally found a perfume that smells like coconut suntan lotion. If that’s a smell you don’t like, I can only advise you not to buy this perfume.
It goes without saying that this is a summer scent.
I just love it and I can’t wait for summer to arrive.
    Update:
After testing this perfume again I can tell that it smells like real fresh coconut – not the least synthetic. I also get lemon which makes it a very fresh scent.
The lasting power is very good.
I recommend it as a comfy scent as well. So delicious!
    Update summer 2012:
I’m writing this update just to tell you what happens when the fragrance is 3 years old. The scent has changed. It is less suntan lotion like and the coconut note is not so prominent. In fact it’s beginning to remind me a lot of Candy from Prada.
In 3 words: EXOTIC – COCONUT – COMFY

The perfect summer scent, being a lover of heavy scents i have problems finding scents for the summer. But this one is fantastic,it smells like the beach and coconuts..There is something refreshing to it also, must be the lavendel.I think this will be this years summer scent for me..ahhh i miss the summer deeply.:(

Wish I’d gotten this last spring/summer when it was out because now I have to wait until spring again to get my hands on it. I plan on purchasing this for myself as a Mother’s Day gift to myself this year. Wish Estee Lauder would sale it all the time and not just seasonal. Perfect beach sent. Great for warm sunny days.

  48. :

its beautiful. its like the smell of the suntanned, creamy sonlotioned skin after a day spent in the beach when the sun goes down

It doesn´t smell like coconut at all. Perhaps like an old coconut. I don´t like it but the Bronze Goddess Oil is wonderful.

Perfect summer fragrance! I love it! Only bad thing: not long lasting:(

  51. :

    5 out of 5

It is like summer in a bottle!!! Whenever I smell it I feel like I am at the bitch enjoying the sun and the loose waves.. 🙂
Wonderful if you already love the smell of the sun lotions and you want it to accompany you even if you are miles far from the sea.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

I continue to be a not-a-fun of Estee Lauders’ perfumes but this, caught my eye on the shelves and wanted to test it.
I must admit that it reminds me of sunsets in Santorini, warm nights with the waves touching gently your toes and your love one giving you thousands of kisses! (too romantic? Lol).
On me, I can certainly smell the fruits and after ten to twenty minutes, when the middle notes start to develop, the coconut takes power and the flowers are following. I like the dry down too, for me it’s not that heavy. Overall, I think it’s a good balanced summer fragrance.
So, I’m thinking of purchasing it, not the fragrance itself, but the oil since I need something to hydrate and scent my skin for the summertime.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

This is an instant vacation in a bottle. It’s warm and coconutty and I’m glad that the citrusses don’t come out that much on my skin. Vetiver and sandalwood are the strongest components I can smell when I wear it which makes it nice and dry and not to tart, but also still very summery.

  54. :

    3 out of 5

I am IN LOVE with this scent! Its a hot summer day with a cool drink and your favorite tanning lotion. Its a sweet buttery smell.

  55. :

    5 out of 5

    My favorite scent of all!
If you love lounging on the beach, this perfume will be perfect for you. It goes hand-in-hand with those wonderful weather lazy days. It also reminds me of certain types of incense as well. Very warm and inviting.
    😉
I even wore it in the winter, and it added a sense of warmth to the brisk air. It was amazing and made me feel yummy! Seems to last for a few hours, so it was definitely worth purchasing.

  56. :

    5 out of 5

i think that the reason it comes in a 100 ml bottle is because it’s very light and you have to spray more. it’s a very warm, pleasant and confortable fragrance, not like all those summer-fresh-aquatic perfumes. however, its staying power isn’t too good. but if you want to wear it at the beach without feeling sick because of a strong smell, this is the one. estee lauder also has in the bronze goddess range a body oil that smells like this perfume.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

I really should like this more – & I really have tried as it sounded like my perfect fragrance. Don’t get me wrong, it is lovely….but if I have to be totally honest I would prefer to wear Hawaiian Tropic.
I keep going back to try this…I’m SO sure I should love it…..but I’ve worked it out: the grapefruit effect I get from the citrus & lavender. Remove that & I’d be one happy kittycat.

  58. :

    4 out of 5

The Beach! Fruity cocktails, suntan oil, coconut, cotton candy, salty ocean, and a breeze… perfect if the beach is your thing.
(It’s not mine; I prefer the pool. And for a summery, beachy scent, I prefer the tropical but softer Juste une Reve by Parfums de Nicolai.)

  59. :

    5 out of 5

WOW what a fun fragrance!! Like many reviewers have said it has a definite tanning salon/suntan oil scent.
I can almost taste the pina colada, feel the warm sand beneath my feet and smell the greasy tan oil when I spritz this on. For me the floral notes are undetectable.
For me this is such a light hearted fragrance that I would only wear it on the weekends or dancing in sweaty clubs on summer nights. It is too playful for the office and would smell out of place during the cold months.
I think I will buy this when my JLo Miami Glow is done.

  60. :

    5 out of 5

Lovely casual summer scent – staying power is TREMENDOUS! Even more so if you spray on clothing, and in that case, its trail is very warm and delicious.
When I wear this, I feel like I’m relaxing on a beach on a tropical island slathered in Hawaiian Tropic oil with a Pina Colada in one hand and a juicy summer read in the other. I don’t like the lemony top note at first, but it fades quickly and I enjoy the rest of it.
Not exactly a masterpiece, but if you like coconut at all, I’d give it a try!

I bought a bottle today and are very happy with it. I walked in a supermarket and the girl from the counter said: you smell nice ! That is really nice to hear. It is such a fresh, light and sunny fragrance. I love it…..

  62. :

I tried this perfume a few times last year, and even though I would not purchase it for myself, its scent intrigued me.
This is one of those fragrances that remind you of coconutty suntan lotion. Not horrible, but not what you expect to find in a fragrance. Men seemed to really dislike this when I wore it, which figures because almost all men hate the smell of fake tan.
I’d say it would fit in nicely as a summery, beachy fragrance, because it tends to remind me a lot of Bondi and Manly Beach up Sydney way of which I have some very fond memories as a teen.

  63. :

Really wish I had bought this one as I can’t find it anywhere now. Smells like sunshine, suntan lotion on beaches, sipping coconut rum as the sun sets.

I just bought a bottle of this today. Its beautiful, I’m very happy with my choice. People say its ‘light, breezy and fresh’ but i think i think the warm base notes hold out and blend exquisitely with the citrus and floral notes making it just right for me because im deciding to steer away from light and crisp perfumes at the moment.I only got it to score some free make-up I wanted. There is definitely better perfumes out there but in my opinion one of the nicest of estee lauder for sure. It is sexy and plush, suitable for casual and semi formal occasions due to its mild feel, has a dreamy and passionate sense to it, great for warm weather and in my opinion is suitable for a younger group.

This one is very similar to azureè soleil, more citrusy and poor -for my nose-… Azureè its better, more harmonized at all.
Im agree with solocha about a suntanning coconut lotion reminiscence in this perfume.
However its ok 🙂 Light and long lasting on my skin

giny: It’s strange because I just had a dill sauce for dinner and I tried this one today in a shop, so reading this I’m a bit confused where this dill aroma comes from, whether from my wrist or… Anyways, when I tried it there and then it was a pleasant smell of almost exclusively coconut, maybe with some suntanning lotion. The perfume resembles very much E.Arden’s Fifth Avenue Night, it’s also coconuty. Now I detect and realize that dill note and it’s not so pleasant. As a whole, to me it’s not a serious perfume like some other – this one is not bad, but suits more for a summer holiday light concept of fragrance. Don’t wear it when you want to be taken seriously.

I read many reviews and wanted so much this fragrance! Got a 5 ml vial from my swap partner and was very happy – Until that moment when I tried it on my wrist. I waited the Wonder, the “fresh, light, sexy, and a little glamorous perfect summer beach scent” – but I just felt strong DILL smell. One of my most hated spices is the dill. Yes I know it not contains dill; maybe it’s the joke of my body chemistry… I tried it more times and always got dill and nothing fresh and sexy. I like the creamy fragrances that are “inspired by the summer and the lustful fragrance-cavalcade of tropical sandy beaches”. I’m so sad, that the Bronze Goddess doesn’t give me the feeling of warm sand and sun-warmed skin.

The PERFECT summer scent. I just love it.Totally reminds me of a day on the beach. I have a feeling I will be spritzing myself with this when it’s cold outside, just to feel a little warmer.

This is the perfect summer beach scent. It is fresh, light, sexy, and a little glamourous. The first burst of scent is fresh citrus. The main middle note I get is coconut, but it is softened by the florals. But the warm base notes are where this goes pretty quickly on me, and they are a gorgeous blend.

reminds me of Neonatura Souffle by Yves Rocher, but this one is a bit lighter.

This is a wonderful scent. Somehow, even with the strong base notes, this scent is light and breezy. I love the oil and the perfume.
